atom internet explorer problem - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom ROM Development

help! My internet explorer does not run. everytime i try to run an address, it states: The address is not valid. Check the address and try again. I tried all the possible address that I usually search but it still gives me the same result. When I tried to tap from the programs, the internet explorer is missing! I was thinking that I might have accidentally erased it...
Can I download Internet Explorer program?

try to install opera browser. I have this problem before aswell. I just use opera browser, it's much better than IE just my two cents

Nope, seems that my atom exec made an adhoc connection or soething and kept connecting to itself. The connection was called linksys. I removed the connection and everything works now. I had to add all my 'hidden' connections again though

I'm too having same problem with internet explorer.Opera is working fine with both gprs and wifi.

my xda atom address valid
when i open interner explorer the reminder was tell me that (the address is not valid.check the address and try again) plz help me

Conn. Prob. w/ Opera Mini/IE & BBC <-Used search

I have looked all over the internet, both on this site and through google, I even shot over to howardforums for a few. I know I saw the solution somewhere, but all my searches are filled with bbc connection probs, not internet connection probs. Heres whats going on... I have the TNT2 rom, I changed the aku version in my registry to .3.7.1 and installed Blackberry Connect 4.0.0.90. Everything there is working fine. The problem is that Internet Explorer will not work. I knew this was a possibility cause I read it on this forum somewhere. I installed Opera Mini browser and then my PC crashed and I lost my bookmark that showed how to make it connect through blackberry connect. Does anyone have the link to the page that shows how to get it to share the existing BBC connection instead of it trying to create its own? Or know how to do it? I went to Start>Settings>Connections>Advanced>Select Networks & changed both dropdowns to My Blackberry, then went to the MidLet manager and set the network on Opera Mini to My Blackberry, and it gives me this error...
Error
Failed to connect to the Internet.

Someone please Help!!!
Thanks.

Tethering problem anyone?

Hi all
i am having problems internet sharing. i have an unlimited data plan and my mogul was connecting my laptop yesterday. it has just stopped and i cant get it back! anyone else having the same or suggestions?
thanks in advance.
me to
Same exact thing i have reflashed reinstalled changed adhoc network names everything even reg usb connection have gotten it to say internet was good but wouldnt actually transfer my only question is if you are on the new gps radio and rom because the issue started a couple hours after i went to new rom i am wondering if sprint built in some way of checking on tethering into new radio and rom if so this sucks and i dont want gps anymore
I have dcd's 2.2.0 with 3.27 radio. I do not know why it has happened. I cant seem to find solutions anywhere.
I had issues with this after awhile as well...I think it may be Verizon killing tethering access from their side of things....
I solved it by buying a copy of PDANet...
Works like a charm and even better than the standard tethering methods.
does pda net work with wifi and i have sprint and last but not least hopefully we dont get charged
Well I just got a trial of PDAnet and it works. I am going to do a speed test to see what I am getting. Hopefully no charges with sprint.

are you able to connect w/ activesync??? i cant even sync my contacts
I am having the same problem with my touch also I just tried connecting with internet sharing yesterday it says connected and the laptop gets an ip and connects but it won't go anywhere on the internet not sure why this is happening
Same here...it will conect but won't do anything
I am able to connect with activesync. I had to make sure that i had enable/use USB connections checked. I reinstalled activesync and restarted the pc and softrest my ppc and I have not had a problem since. I was unable to get anything using internet sharing, but I am on my laptop right now using pdanet. Ran a speed test and getting 1.1MB/sec down 532kb/sec up.
what i dont understand is if this is related to the new rom or if sprint just started trying to do something so it disabled the regular internet sharing and also want to know if pda net works wirelessly
I just tried to tether with my Mogul on Sprint; it seems to be working without issue. I used the internet sharing app on the Mogul.
I'm using DCDs 2.2.6 ROM.
Try #1
i'm not an expert but for what its worth this worked for me when i had that problem...
Solution #1
Open internet explorer in ppc
Open internet sharing
Connect phone to pc
Solution #2
You will need a reg editor
goto HKLM/Comm/InternetSharing
and delete Extension with the data tag as rilphone.dll
restart the phone and enjoy...
but please make sure u back ur registry up or remember this post to go back to it so if its messed up u can place that value back and FYI its a REG_SZ type value.
Solution #3
Try #2 then #1

PDA Net will work with any method you can connect to Activesync with...
I have never tried to get it to sync via Wifi...
And didn't have a lot of success with Bluetooth either...
PDA Net also works with WMDC. All it really requires is for the phone to be connected to sync and it will work.

dcd rom already has this deleted
you have to close activesync for wmwifirouter that seems to be working and i changed max cm retry to 5 from 0 in the registry key referred to before
nevermind something weird going on if i start a secured connection in my browser then i can stay on that site if i switch to the adhoc connection but i cant even go to google. ex log on to xda and switch to wmwifiroyter and keep browsing posting whatever but cant go to any other site.
i think this is a win 6.1 issue only
Try a differant computer, I can tether just fine with my laptop, but I have problems tethering with my decktop pc. It might be a windows XP issue

Error Code 67 help

I did a search but couldn't really find the same problem.
I'm a new Mogul user and just upgraded from the 6700 (kitchen).
I'm on a SERO plan.
Well I upgraded to Nexvision's ROM and Radio 3.27. I verified that the GPS works and I can place and receive calls. I can also use Internet Explorer and Google Maps.
However, whenever I try to initiate Internet Sharing (I prefer BT but would settle for USB) I get a "Error Code 67" and some message about user name and password do not match. (I even tried PDAnet with the same result)
After that - Data for all applications (PIE, google maps, etc) is messed up and I continually get the error. I have to do a Soft reset to get rid of it but every time I try Internet sharing, it happens again.
Any clues? If I can't make it work, I'll probably have to go back to my trusty 6700. I really like the Titan but Internet sharing is a must have.

You wont be able to get it to work...(correct me if I'm wrong) error 67 is the phone not recognizing the log in email and password you set on your sprint.com account. Since you can browse with your internet explorer (you can, right?), the phone shows that it has no problems logging in.
You can, however, use PdaNet and share the broadband connection.
try using wmwifirouter for internet sharing, you will not get the eror code as a result of tethering your device with a usb cable.
to get rid of eror code 67, read this post
http://www.sprintmogul.net/Forum/tabid/54/ptid/370/threadid/1333/forumtype/posts/Default.aspx
specifically the comment about disconnecting immediately upon connecting. worked for me.

I tried PDAnet and I get the same dreaded Error Code 67
So basically I get data on my phone, but I can't share it (tether)
That's strange...PdaNet works for me but internet sharing from the phone doesn't. Maybe you should try the solution posted above ^
Went back to Original ROM and verified Internet sharing works via the USB (didn't try BT but assumes that it would work too).
Not quite sure why I would always get the Error Code 67 with the upgraded ROM. I've read that a few others have had similar problems too but I don't think anyone has a definitive answer yet.
I really liked the GPS feature but for now the Internet Sharing trumps it in importance.

wifi very slow - setting issue?

Hi,
I have a problem with my htc s740: when i use wifi to connect to the internet no problem with log on to wifi network but when I try to open some pages with explorer i have to wait 2-3 min. to open a simply page like google.Sometime no pages is open. but with gprs is work fine .
I must make some settings to my wifi connection on rose or to my router at home?
Thank you.
I'm afraid, that Explorer in fact doesn't work over wifi. Are you sure it stills not working through GPRS?
Try Opera Mini instead.

Are you sure about that? Explorer works fine for me over WiFi
Yeap networkguy, you're right, not sure...
I just remembered zilions of threads like this...
Nevertheless, as a honest guy I tried my Eplorer over Wifi (never worked before) and it works!
Only thing I did inbetween my first trial and today is installation of NoData (for now I disabled GPRS first and did soft reset). During my previous trials I just changed something in GPRS settings manually to disable it - Explorer got dead, Opera worked fine... NoData apparently does better job as me .
Mea culpa.
mikai9: The most common problem with wifi is default power setting. Set it to highest performance level (CommManager/WLAN Settings/Power). And really doublecheck, if Explorer is not sticked with GPRS.

Wifi gets interrupted frequently...

I'm using a US bought tab in India running stock rom...i've rooted the tab
My problem is when i connect to the internet, using my wifi modem the connection get interrupted every 3 or 4 mins...i need to switch off the wifi in my tab and again restart it to get the connection back...it is so irritating...
I read somewhere that the tab has a text file that temporarily stores the ip address of that browsing session. But here we use dynamic ip address...
I read that when we erase the text file, the browsing gets to normal...
Someone pls help me with a solution
I rechecked the router and it is working very well with my laptop and mobile...

I had the same problem, but i did fix it by resetting router to factory settings
and changing the wifi channel to non-overlapping channel 11 (also channels 1 and 6 are non-overlapping channels). NB! reboot is not the same as resetting router to factory settings.
After that i removed my wifi spot from SGS by long press and forget in wifi settings. Then SGS shut down and reboot to router. When router was fully up again i did turn SGS on let it found my wifi again. Everything was perfect after that. I did not upgrade the routers firmware, but in certain cases, if firmware is really old, it might be necessary to do.
Some say, that removing file /data/misc/dhcp/dhcpcd-eth0.lease.list will help, so you can try that too
Thank you... I'll try it...
One more doubt... Will deleting the mentioned file damage the tab's wifi in any other way like not connecting other channel forms?

I did wipe that file away without any consequensies, but if you want, you can save it somewhere before deleting. System creates a new file soon after the new wifi connections are created.
for some reasons wpa/wpa2/aes/tkip are difficult to android, but the wifi routers firmware upgrade + factory resetting or only factory resetting helps in most cases of that kind of problems. Hope you get help
Thank you again...i'll try it
