Well I just attempted to upgrade my Rom.. First I loaded titan_SPL_2.40-olipro on.. It seemed to all go fine.. I can boot into the Bootloader on the phone fine and it shows that version. Then I loaded dcd 3.1.2 (Official GPS/RevA) - Windows Mobile 6.1 OS 5.2.19213. It seemed to load fine to.. went to 100% and finished phone restarted and is now stuck on the Telus screen.. Tried reloading the ROM again same thing.. Tried a different rom same thing.. I also cant establish a active sinc to my PC anymore.. Any ideas? Thanks..
I was going to try loading a factory ROM again.. I just read that people advice not to load a factory RON on this verion of SPL, correct?
Well I decided to give it a shot and load a factory ROM on again and it worked its back to life.. So my question is what should I do now, I would still like to upgrade the ROM but don't wont this to happen again.. Do I try reloading the SPL?
You are missing a step.
steps are
1. Load bootloader
2. Load Sprint or alltel OEM rom with 3.xx radio.
3. Load custom rom. If possible one with extended rom, that will erase customizations from ext rom.
here are detailed instructions for telus
http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1369027
here is another 6.1 cutom rom
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1372511
jim_l, as mentioned you are not using the appropriate radio for your chosen ROM.
The previous post is in error because you may not mix any 3.xx radio with the latest ROMs. Avoid using radio 3.27 as that was only paired with a briefly used leaked ROMs. The compatible radios are 3.35.10, 3.37.20, and what most now seem to recommend, 3.39.10.
There are no special instructions for Telus when flashing. The highlighted Wiki and radio stickied threads at the top of this forum have all of the troubleshooting and instructional information that you required.
A hint to others, rather than first posing questions and waiting for help, it's often quickest for you to first see what existing threads and solutions are present in a forum. There's a search function and some very self explanatory labelled threads stickied to the top that occasionally get overlooked.
Thanks, I will do some more reading.. I read until my eyes bleed and thought I had it figured out. Guess not... I have been browsing forums since forums existed and know my way around... dohhhh
Thanks again..
Well I did more reading and I got it going with dcds ROM thanks all...
Only question I have now, is it seems my phone cant geta data connection.. It just doesnt dial out for it..

Did you install one of DCD's appropriate carrier CAB?
Ya I did install it.. I just reinstalled it and all is well.. Thanks a million..
Did you also record and now check your EPST data? Is it all as it should be?
I did record all the EPST data, I couldnt get into EPST for a while.. I rebooted a couple times and now it lets me in.. seems to be all the same.. THanks..

I've flashed to no2chem's rom and installed the 3.27 radio...phone works for a little then all of a sudden reboots and when i try to make calls it says its not authorized
now it just reboots before im able to even finish loading the device all the way
what should i do?
Just a few posts down from yours:

Not authorized issue also thoroughly discussed. Try searching a bit.
thanks but i've abanonded no2chem's rom. im still having problems calling (saying im not authorized) which im sure has been discussed but im having trouble finding it
The problem is not no2chem's rom, but most likely the wrong bootloader.
If you even try searching the word "authorized" you will find that you need to call Verizon.
you need to update the Radio to 3.27. Then it'll work.
I'm having the same problem just my Mogul is for SPrint.... Any sugguestion why It resets it self?

For the Millionth time......
You MUST have matching bootloader, ROM, and radio!!!!
Read carefully.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371314
quick note, this time there actually is a different possible reason (but it results, again, on not completely reading instructions *sigh*)
On no2chem's 6.1 rom 5050 and later, when you install you *must* do a hard reset and pull the battery for 2-3 minutes. This allows the dohicky to reset the thingermajig, causing everything to magically not reboot.
if you read his posts, he explains everything using slightly less technical terms, but if you do this, it'll work.

Yup. This step is the most crucial. Without it you won't get beyond the initial splace screen.

I had the same problem, i was using the wrong hard spl, i was using 1.20. The correct spl is 2.40 after using the correct one no problem at all. If it helps I'm new at this myself.
still not sure why anyone still uses the crappy, buggy, beta 3.27 radio. radio 3.35.04 is out and should be used with all new roms.
Hello everyone! I have searched a lot and after about 6 flashes back to stock and retrying I can't seem to get this to work.. Please I have searched a lot and I am just frustrated now. Here is what I am doing. I unlocked with 2.40 spl, then run sprint rom. Now I don't let it customize. 3.2 rom. then telus cab. I run auto programming on phone *22803 , 1, 1 and show successful. Phone work but no data connection. called telus and re did login for data network phone#@1x.telusmobility.com and esn number. still no data. Can someone who has the latest rom working on their mogul please give me exact instructions or lend me a hand. PLEASE PLEASE. Oh if I relocka and run telus stock rom it all works fine. That is where I am now
Cheers all!!
hey man sorry my details are kinda crappy been awhile since i did it from a stock ROM but i had the same issues...maybe do a search for my posts here and look at them they might be more helpful then my memory....
anyways get your phone locked again and back to stock telus just U NEED to do this so you know you are starting fresh...then unlock and flash with the sprint ROM to get the GPS radio u are after....then re flash with the ROM of your choice if i remember correctly there is a step in 2.40-olipro that you are not doing right where it says disconnect or reconnect or something.....but every time you do it wrong go back to stock everything.......you'll get it man trust me look at my old posts i think i said what i did wrong...and follow the instructions perfectly there is one that is easy to miss if i remember correctly
found my post for u http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381982
and look here too

i was unlocking the phone wrong and having the same problem so make sure u careful then and remember to relock after u mess it up.....
Hey Thanks so much. It is my epst settings. When I did the sprint upload I let customization go so. going back to stock worked buy everythime I went to dcd titan upgrade something kept changing even if I did not let the sprint customization run. Well I wrote down all my setting and re flashed 7th time to 3.27 and 3.16 and changed the epst settings. It is working now to flash to 3.42.20 will hope it stays this time

Among other possible problems, you definitely applied the wrong radio. v3.27 of the CDMA radio from February was only intended for builds off of a very early and leaked pre-release Sprint testing ROM.
Where did you get informatino to flash to that radio version?
Ive been having problems lately with my mogul for some odd reason it keeps resetting every like 10 second. Ive done everything from relockerr to unlocker and hard reset trying out radios and everything. i just want to know if there is ether a specific radio and BL thats compatible for the 21501 ROM?
Either of the unlocked bootloaders should work fine for it. There is a list on the wiki and a sticky thread at the very top of this forum with a list of compatible radio roms. Pretty much, though, I would probably just go with the latest one which I believe is a Sprint.
Also, if your phone is constantly resetting I would try flashing to your carrier's latest stock ROM and make sure that it is stable there first. If it still resets there then you may have a hardware issue of some sort.
I have an HTC HD2 and I'm on T-mobile. What I've noticed is that my phone doesn't ring sometimes and then I'll just get a voicemail notification (if voicemail was left). It's an intermittent issue, I've tested it several times from another line.
Does anybody know what the issue is? I did a search on Google and there seems to be a lot of the same issues others are having across other networks and other versions of the HTC but, haven't found a solution.
Thanks
i had never heard of this issue until yesterday, when my phone simply did not ring, then i got a txt asking why i didnt answer. very confusing. only seemed to happen once. i have done a lot of tweaks, so maybe ive changed something i shouldnt have. if it helps im using a generic, unbraded, factory unlocked HD2, with CleanEX DsE 3.5 and radio 2.11. have you tried re-flashing the ROM and seeing if that helps?
interestingly, i have noticed that my signal can be irratic at times, often just dropping for no reason, then coming back about 30 seconds later. i live in a full signal area, so i know thats not a problem. also my data connection will 'freeze' at times, where it shows its connected, but nothing is able to use it, i have to disconnect and reconnect, and this may take 2 or 3 attempts before it connects and is usable. have you experienced the same issues?

I haven't tried flashing the ROM, I've been hesitant on doing that since I feel like I might mess something up. I'm not sure how to either. I have SPB backup, so I would hope if I messed something up then I would be able to easily restore it.
I haven't really noticed any dropping, my call qualities have been good. I've tried to dial a number before and it might drop right then while it's trying to make the call. So, I'll redial the number but, once I'm connected I haven't noticed any issues with calls dropping.
Data connection has been working pretty good as well, I've been using the wifi quite a bit and not really had any issues. I don't have a data plan setup with T-Mobile so I just use the wifi. I don't know if using the actual data connection would give different results than using the wifi.
flashing a rom is really easy it's all autoinstall, just have to read carefully / look at the video's, there A LOT of them out there.

updating the rom may help, as it will also update the radio drivers. what i would suggest, if you dont have much experience in flashing a ROM is to have a look on the official HTC support site. on there it will give you a list of updates avalible for your phone. download the latest ROM for your phone (for me, this is WWE 1.66 with radio 2.06) and install that. any data on an sd card will remain intacted, but sync you phone with outlook and backup stuff like contacts, messages etc before you do it. i personally use microsoft myphone to do all that.
flashing the ROM with an official one is very straight forward, and as quoted above, its all auto install on the phone, and there are about 3 or 4 steps that you need to do PC side (this is all explained in the update program you download). i would give that a go and see if things improve, you will also gain improved performance, new features and better battery life with newer ROMs, so its worth doing
custom roms are a bit more tricky to install, but often offer more features and improvements over stock roms. if you need help with this have a search on the forums, there are lots of guides and help on how to flash with a custom rom

I have a T-Mobile HTC HD2 (U.S.) and I went to the HTC site and on the download page for the ROM update it has ROM Version: 1.66.707.1. When I check the ROM version on my phone it is: 2.10.531.1.1 (82076) WWE
Also it says on there - Note: This update is not intended for use on T-Mobile(US) HTC HD2, and doing so may have undesired side effects.
So, I suppose I'll have to start looking into the custom ROM's.

good job you didnt flash that, the 'undesired side effect' of flashing that official rom (or any other non tmous official rom) on your tmous phone would have been a permanently dead phone.
im not sure about tmous roms, maybe have a look on the t-mobile us support site and see if anything is listed there. if you want to look at custom roms the first thing you will need to do is get hspl (the latest version is hspl3, which i believe is compatible with tmous). if you search on the forums you can find the official thread. this removes the security checks and allows you to install custom roms. after that you will need to choose a radio version. again search on the forum and find the latest one compatible with your hd2 (there is an official radio thread which i would look at). this normally comes with an updater program included, but if not, search for 'custom ruu' and follow the instructions on the thread. finally you need to pick a custom rom. there are literally 100s to choose from, with different features, looks, apps and even some android builds. personally, i use cleanex dse because of its speed and stability. im not sure if this is tmous compatible, so check on the rom threads.
alternativly, you could have a hardware fault with your phone, which will be repaired under warrenty, so you could go down this route. personally, i would do this first and see if things improve, as although custom roms can be uninstalled and the steps can be reversed, the warrenty is voided by using hspl and installing custom roms.
still have the problem? Might not need a hard reset. Try this solution here:
(LINK)
One of your programs might have deleted the "Volatile" folder, so
no Volatile folder => no WMPlayer => no MP3 playback => no ringtone.
Re-creating an empty "\Application Data\Volatile" folder usually brings it all back.
If it fixes the problem temporarily and recurs again, you might have to change the temp folder as outlined in the link above, or just install that CAB.
Hope this helps. If this solves your problem, please edit/add [solved] to your title.

I have the same problem. Sometimes incoming call does't ring, altough the phone vibrates. I'm using an european HD2 with the original 1.48 rom. I didn't found the reason... the changed tweak... the influencing application installed. It seems happening randomly, I can get a call without incoming call ring and after a few minutes I can get a second call from the same caller with a normal ring.
I have a problem and was wondering if any can help me out. My hd2 is not getting past the loading screen. I have NRG rom and when I turn on the phone it gets to the NGR sign and stops. It just started doing this yesterday. I can get into the bootloader but when I tried to put a new rom on the device it just said it can not connect to the device. I don't know if my phone has brick or not because it turns on and I can get into bootloaders. Anyone with any answers.
Thank you

Hi
What is th version and name of the NRG rom. and did you HSPL and what radio version if you know
Russ
have you changed radio yet? regular hd2 ships with a ..51.. radio but nrg rom requires a ..50.. radio.
enter bootloader - confirm spl says x.xx.hspl and not x.xx.0000 - flash a radio.
a rom that requires a 50 radio wont get past loading screen with a 51 radio.
Quoted from Energy rom instructions
''
Q: After a reset my Phone hangs on white screen while loading.
A: This is caused by a non compatible Radio. Upgrade to a 2.xx.50.xx radio version, which also unlocks the 576MB RAM
''
If this is the correct answer, then shame on you for not reading the energy rom thread correctly before flashing.
radio is 2.15.50.14. This is not my first time running NRG rom on my phone.
OK What version are you using of NRG rom, is it the dinik, touch of glass, GTX.etc and what date did you down load? was it the last update 18dec? 29xxxx as there is a lot of problems with that versions. Infact they have been removed from the download link. I had to go back to my old version from the 13th Dec to get it back working.
So think it would be better if you flash the older version of what you are using until NRG gets the new versions fixed. (His laptop crapped out on him. As per the ROM links)
Yes, it was the touch of glass version and it was the last update 18dec. So, I tried to upload miri and dinik but it just read my computer wasn't sync to the computer. So, it maybe something wrong with the rom and my phone should be alright.
