mogul Version 3.35.651.2 - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I have a quick question. I have a hacked ROM currently on my mogul which allows me to get incoming calls while surfing the internet. Will the newest ROM that HTC released still allow this? I remember the original ROM that came with the phone would not allow incoming calls while surfing the internet. If anyone can answer, i would really appreciate it.
Thanks

All roms allow you to receive incoming calls while "surfing the internet". The phone however, will NOT allow you to use any data while on that call. So you can be on google.com and get a call just fine, but you can't load up xda while on that same call. The phone pauses the data, lets the call through, when the call ends, resumes data.

gcincotta, thanks alot for the quick reply...thats exactly what i needed to know.

Unless of course your using "WIFI" then your browsing is not affected while on the call.

similar question, but do you know what recieving incoming calls does to gps? does it close the connection?
anything similar to what it does with data?

Well I figured he was referring to EV-DO, Wi-Fi is different as it's not using the CDMA radio.

Again, the GPS has its own chipset on the MSM7500. It does not use the CDMA radio, so therefore it's unaffected by calls or data.

Data Blocking Calls?

Hi,
Anyone aware of incoming calls not getting through, e.g. going straight to voicemail, when you're browsing the web or whatever? Or is thi to be expected?
Thanks

GPRS/EDGE will drop calls. 3G and HSDPA, to my knowledge, won't.
Maybe you were not in the 3G coverage?

Its a known issue where 2g networks cant cope with active data connections and a voice call and divert straight to voicemail. 3G doesnt with the capacity.

the problem is that I could expect this when I am actually browsing or something but most annoying is that this does happen even when the phone is on the standby not doing anything (it must be downloading some data in the background though)
and frequency with which it drops 3g and changes to 2g and back doesn't help it in anyway... connection is very very unstable...
I guess its down to sensitivity or buggy radio rom.
i have the same problem here with eplus in germany. the normal behaviour would be, that the data flow is interrupted on incoming call and the call gets routed through. after the call ends the data connection will be set to active again. this is how my WM Phone handled calls during an active data connection. there are a lot of people with similar problems in a german forum. i thought that this is a network issue but it seems that it is a htc here related issue. If so, that would be very a major issue as the android OS and hero are build for beeing online most of the time. Anybody tried a different radio version?

Its not a phone issue, its a network issue. Its to do with NOM1 and NOM2 and how the network prioritises calls/data.
The network should either send a request to the phone (only some phones can handle the request though) to terminate the data or the network should cancel it on their end first and then route the call through. Most networks don't seem to do this.
Changing radio version will not rectify this issue
but obviously there is something that has to be done because it potentially will affect ALL android devices if they use so much background data.
Seriously it cannot be acceptable that phone will simply not ring just because it was checking email or updating weather...

[Q] My TBolt doesn't receive/send phonecalls.

It'll receive/send texts perfectly fine (well, it'll give me an error but it still sends it).
It happens so often, it starts to get frustrating.
Does this happen to anyone, if it does, any help?
(If it helps, I'm running BAMF Sense 3.0 RC3).
I can't use the phone function most of the time. When this happens, I usually have to do a battery pull, or a soft reset. Usually when I do a data wipe, it fixes the problem.
But how can I stop this problem from happening and make my phone reliable again?
You never explained exactly what it is that's happening that is making your phone unusable. How does it not send/receive calls?
sorry for the clarity.
but basically when I receive calls, they go straight to voicemail.
when dialing an outgoing call, it won't ring and the phone will say "call was lost", even when I have full service.

Have you try on stock rom and does data work ?

I just wiped everything clean. Data works fine and I'm able to send texts (but I receive a warning) and receive them too. Phone calls don't work. Do you think its a problem with the phone itself?

[Q] No incoming calls

I've had the Galaxy S2 for about 2 months now without any problems.
As of last Friday, I can't receive incoming calls. People who try to call me hear one beep and then they get my voicemail.
Outgoing calls work just fine, as does SMS (incoming and outgoing).
I've put my T-Mobile SIM in another phone and then it is able to receive a call. Another SIM in my phone -> same problem: no incoming calls.
So I figured it must be the phone.
Customer support has started an investigation but that can take up to 1 week, so I thought let's ask XDA.
Can it be a simple setting that I've accidentally changed? Pretty often when I take my phone from my pocket, the screen is unlocked so that could be a cause.
If anyone has a clue or an identical situation, please let me know.

Does your phone ring when a call comes in and also does it go straight through to your voicemail?

Straight to voicemail. But I've figured it out after 3 days
There's an option to automatically block all incoming calls in the settings. Must have accidentally been activated when the phone was in my pocket.

In my case, the phone does not ring when I get a call at all. I have searched hi and low and I cant find a solution. I have rebooted, i have reflashed, I have changed my ringtone and nothing seems to work, please help!!
Hello my girlfriends SGS 2 has almost the same problem it cannot receive calls sometimes even though she can call everyone. The problem seems to fix by itself sometimes and it appears random.
I read that there was a problem with the samsung galaxy s when using 2G/EDGE connection with data activated and the problem was that the user could not receive calls randomly.
Can you confirm that you are using 2G/EDGE connection and Data activated? I am also trying to find the cause of this problem...
Hope my research helps good luck and waiting for your reply. (http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/...eive-incoming-calls-and-sms-while-using-edge/)
Later EDIT ---
She also has a vodafone provider but i have the same provider and never had this issue. Also no call filtering is done.
Make sure Call Forwarding is Disabled under Settings- Call- Call forwarding. And also try to delete the Voicemail number if you had set any.
Regards.
it's nothing Call Forwarding is Disabled related it is because of EDGE connection you can't have a sync or internet connection and while "dialing" data receive calls if you want to call anyone the network prioritizes and let's you dial whoever you want but it is not the same thing for incoming calls
^ Went over my head !
had the same problem in a bad 3g/data coverage area. solution was simply to turn data off and the calls started to come through.
turned data back on and now working ok.

google voice voip with sprint integration?

ok so i tied my number to google voice because my phone doesn't get signal in 90% of my workplace (it has wifi though) and the cell signal by my house is pretty low so all calls sound like crap. so what i was hoping to do was be able to place calls and texts from my sprint number through google voice. if i go into the settings of the google voice app i set it so the google voice app gives me notifications when i receive texts and i am able to use it to text and receive texts as long as i have a data connection (wifi most of the time) now the problem with this is that if i don't have a cell signal and am connected to only wifi, calls dont come through at all like i would expect them to..
before i did the integration i was able to place calls over wifi but it would display my google voice number to the people i was calling but now that i did the integration i cant make or receive calls over wifi? if anyone knows how to enable that it would help a lot, if it can even be done that is...
on a side note, i experimented with it using my house phone and noticed that if i have no signal and am only on the wifi, the people who are calling me (in this case me calling my cell phone from my house) still hear a ringing tone and after about 30 seconds get my voicemail. so what the heck. you would think if its ringing that i would get calls over the wifi but apparently not...?
Install GrooveIP....works perfect.

Unable to receive calls

Strange issue, I could send/receive text messages, and I could also make calls, but when trying to call my phone from another phone or if anyone else called me it would just ring like normal and go to voicemail, but my phone wouldn't ring or indicate that I had a call / missed call. This was fixed after a reboot but has anyone else had this issue?

I have the same issue I tried a reboot but the problem keeps coming back did that fix it permanently for you? Sometimes calls come in other times it just shows up as a voicemail.

My mom's G3 exhibited this issue over the weekend, waiting to see if it comes back.

I haven't had the issue since, but then again I wouldn't know unless someone texts me that they've been trying to call (I don't monitor my voicemail that closely...probably should though).
I've seen the exact same issue as well. I won't even get the call but the voice mail will show up if the caller left a message. Hopefully this is just a bad connection to the cell towers at the time the call was trying to get through and not some other issue.

Hi coming from the M8 forums and checking things out, and I had this issue and it was due to the tower being worked on in my area. I didn't have service for an entire month at my office or apt, which are less than a mile apart. Now I have poor data service but i can receive calls. You might want to contact Sprint and let them know ASAP
I cant receive calls but i can do outgoing and sms to others weird using international unlock lg g3 sprint
Same here...maybe 2 out 10 test calls I tried went through. I called sprint and they instructed me to re-provision the device using some ##7..something..something## dialer codes. My phone magically receives calls, but I have a feeling their re-provision crap didn't do anything to fix, it was just the re-boot part that "temporarily" fixed the incoming call problem.
