AP 4.0 and Goodlink Issue - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

I did some searches and looking in threads but didn't find anything (though I don't claim to be a search master so I apologize if this has been posted already).
Just yesterday, I upgraded to Athena Project 4.0 (which is freakin' awesome BTW). My company email uses Goodlink 5 for push email. I have no problems installing Goodlink 5 and I can see my corporate email once it finishes syncing.
The issue I have is that when I go into "Programs", I cannot open any of the programs in the folder. I can navigate through the folers (I can open the directory "Games") without any issue.
Does anyone have (or had) this problem and have a resolution?
Thanks.

Memory leak -- tmail.exe?

I am running DCD's 2.3.1 rom and I am suffering a terrible memory leak. I have tried to disable any third party applications and that hasn't resolved the problem. Also, I don't have htc home installed on the phone.
While searching for the problem, I realized that I have my mail application running continuously (checking mail every 5 minutes) and tmail.exe is a program that is difficult to isolate. I was wondering if it is possible to substitute the WM5 version of tmail.exe with the WM6 version before cooking a new rom and have the mail client actually work? There is really only one new feature in the new tmail.exe that I find useful and I can live without that. Also, the new tmail.exe is 3-4 times larger than the older version which means a lot of new (and potentially buggy) code is in the new version. I tried to drop the old email client into the windows directory but I think it needs to be signed before it will work.
Anyway, if anyone has 2 cents to offer before I take the plunge I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance...
P.S. I know I'm grasping at straws which is why I don't want to cook a new rom just to test it but I will if no one can tell me that the old email client won't work.
You probably know this already, but tmail is also used for SMS.

[Q] Word Mobile crashes

This program crashes a lot of Word documents that open perfectly in WM2003 on my XDA IIi.
I upgraded to Word 10 too - the app is one of the main reasons I chose a WinMo phone.
Anyone experiencing the same?
Are they're any registry tweaks for this program - I can't see any entries in the registry.
Works perfectly for everyone else, then...?
Anyone using Word Mobile?
I mean, this is a fast-moving forum, which means 100% of all of you are using WM 6.5, no?
never had it crash. works well for me. granted, i just mainly read documents and rarely edit/create new ones.
Thanks for the reply.
8 out of 30 documents I just opened crashed.
These are often ones I received from elsewhere by Email or ones that I transferred from my Win 7 64-bit laptop. They are mostly .doc with some .docx. As I said they open perfectly in WM2003.
Message was just a generic 'An error occurred. The document could not be opened'
I really need to work on these documents whilst commuting so how can I troubleshoot this?
couple of options, i guess. nothing special.
1- post one of the files (or put on mediafire and pm me the link) and i can see if i can open it. (i have stock word; not upgraded. i think. i use energy roms.) i understand this may be hard if it is personal/business stuff.
2- flash a new rom with word in it and see how it goes.
3- go back to office pre-10. see how it goes
4- reinstall office 10.
hmm; basic triage i guess. let me know.
cheers.

I imagine the particular posters have found answers to their problems seeing as this thread
dates from 2014 but I thought it might be worthwhile answering all the same as I ran in to the same niggles when I began using this app so if anyone searching these issues subsequently may find some worth from my reply.
First of all as a far as experience and knowledge is concerned. Firstly with cars;fixing, modifying, engine management tuning, obd2, diagnostics. Basically my auto knowledge is extremely wide and extensive from approx 35 years of obsession and getting stuck in an the deep end whereas my knowledge and experience of computers and smart phone tech is on much, much shakier ground
In fact, for those of my vintage. i.e late 30s,early 40s remember when we were kids. and programmable VCRs were the height of cutting edga technology. Well I'm like the way our parents and grand parents were then. i.e pretty much baffled by it and even following the instructions it was hit and miss whether you actually managed to record that film rhat was on at 4am lol.
So for the second issue brought up by the OP it doesn't matter whether you email yourself the log file or not (I found the few times i tried it that the file wouldn't attach and when it did the problem was the same anyway) you need Microsoft Office or any other type of office suite to view the files. On the pc i have Microsoft office but had to download an app to my phone to view. csv files. Again an office suite that not only displays. csv files but puts them into a spreadsheet format is required.
As for the first issue it's preferable in every way to view the site. on a pc because on the phone display the actual box to sign into is off screen and takes a little bit of zooming out and seaching to find, the same goes after you have signed in when another box appears with a list of the logs files recorded and the tab to choose it. This is where my lack of fundamental computer/web knowledge comes in. I can't tell you why it doesn't sit nicely inti an easily accessible mobile format but it doesn't. Once you've found the first sign in box/pop up it becomes simple, annoying but simple.
As for there being nothing after signing into the webview site successfully all I can assume is either you've no log files to view which you should have if it's all been set up correctly, including choosing which PIDs to send to logfile or the pop up/window where you click on your logfiles is right off screen and has to be looked for. Of course you don't get that problem if accessed using your desktop.

[Q] looking for evidence of app installation

Hi all,
Today my Nexus 6 (shamu) on T-Mo running the factory Project Fi image (rooted LVY48C, 5.1.1) auto downloaded and installed "T-Mobile My Account" app. I promptly took a screenshot of it having been installed and then uninstalled it. I have since spoken to T-Mobile, Motorola, and Google tech support looking for answers, like, who initiated this install? How did it install without my consent? etc. But nobody can answer these questions. T-Mobile claimed they have no possible process for auto-installing this specific package (it's not an OTA package). Motorola pointed me back at T-Mobile. Google, oddly, has so far claimed they "cant answer that for you unfortunately".
This is unacceptable -- that an app (with so many access permissions ie phone ID, contacts, GPS, SMS, phone logs, microphone, etc) can be installed without my consent.
What I would like help with is finding my own answers to these questions. As [email protected] via an ADB shell, running logcat, it appears that history only goes back about 2 hours. I did not run logcat until several hours later. It appears that Android does not have capable logging mechanisms. I also was not able to find any references to "t-mobile" or "tmobile" in a Root Explorer search.
Can you please help me investigate? Where should I look?
Cheers!

Chrome on Android - enable website to access location data

This is a general question. I'm having trouble "forcing" a website to utilize my location. There's a site we use at work. It is built on a Google Maps layer. We can log work completed and other information for units that appear as features/layers on the map. That all works just fine. The trouble is with the "auto-follow" function on the map. The guys who have IOS devices are not having any problems. If I use the generic "internet" browser or the browser in LastPass, auto-follow works as expected. It pans/zooms the map to my current location and puts a blue dot wherever I am. The issue is that auto-follow does not function in Chrome browser.
I have tried many things so far, from the very basic like this: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142065?hl=en
To this: http://superuser.com/questions/591758/how-do-i-make-chrome-forget-a-no-to-geolocation-on-a-site
to this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...r-a-website-for-which-i-previously-refused-it
and this: https://buddypunch.freshdesk.com/su...tion-services-on-my-mobile-device-or-browser-
So far, nothing has worked. I'm beginning to wonder if there is something within the app/site that is not requesting location data in a way that Chrome either understands or wants to comply with. I have a line to the "developers" and if I can give them specific information, they can probably make some changes.
Yes, I could use other browsers. But Chrome is my default and is integrated with everything else on my phone (T-Mo Galaxy S7 with most current versions of everything) But I am not the only person experiencing this. I'd like to help out those guys (most of which are not very tech savvy) by cracking this nut.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
I found the cause:
https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/native-hardware/user-location/obtain-location?le=en
Google went and changed things on EVERYONE without notice. They aren't evil, just not always real nice.
