It's done! AGEphone Mobile 2.91 Speakerswitch Edition // Thread closed. - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

After so many of you have asked us over and over we finally added support for using the internal speaker with our WM 5/6 softphone AGEphone Mobile. Up until now all VoIP-software had to cope with the problem that only the external speaker could be used on most devices. AGEphone Mobile 2.76 Speakerswitch Edition (changelog) makes it possible for the very first time to use internet telephony just like any other call without the need for a headset or advanced echo cancellation. The latest version has the potential to run on almost any HTC device, but for now we have confirmed support for
HTC Trinity
HTC Hermes
HTC Touch: There is a new audio driver from HTC that seems to enable speaker switching on all HTC Touch devices without a ROM change. So just save yourself the reflashing process and download the .CAB file attached to post #280. Please don't forget to backup before you try to install this! Also, do NOT try to install any other Touch models (see post #364)!
HTC Touch Dual
HTC Touch Pro: Latest reports (see post #448 and #461) indicate that speaker switching is working on this device. Please grab the AGEphone Mobile 2 demo, go to the audio settings (page 2) and enable "Switch Speakers during Call". After that close the settings, close AGEphone Mobile and restart your device. This way you can make sure whether or not it works with your ROM without investing anything but 5 minutes of your time.
HTC Touch HD
HTC Touch 3G: One user confirmed it to be working in post #478 but was complaining about audio dropouts. Please post to confirm or dismiss this.
HTC Kaiser: T-Mobile MDA Vario III users should take a look at post #345 for more information.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
Toshiba TG-01: Tested with the Docomo (Japan) and O2 (Germany) WM 6.1 ROMs. Might work on WM 6.5 as well. Please report!
OMAP devices: There is a new audio driver from HTC that seems to enable speaker switching on some OMAP devices. You can find the necessary .CAB file attached to post #280. Please don't forget to backup before you try to install this!
In many cases not all ROMs will work for a specific device as their audio drivers don't support rerouting the audio even if the device itself does. We plan to gradually extend the functionality until we cover all relevant Windows Mobile 5 / 6 devices and all available ROMs so that nobody ever needs to look back to normal calls! After starting the program just make sure you go to "3. Audio" (page 2) in the settings and activate "Switch Speakers during Call". Please always make sure that your data is backed up when testing the option for the first time: The feature is experimental and may lock up your device to the point where it needs a hard reset... it would definitely be a pity for your data!
Regardless whether or not speaker switching works on your device, please attach your basic log file to the thread so the we can improve the functionality for everyone. The log option can be found under "Menu - About - More...". Just press "Save" and the program informs you where you can find the "Info.txt" it created. You can trim the file down to Hardware Information, System Information and Driver Enumeration as shown in post #285. Please also add which ROM you are using as it can be quite a chore finding the correct distribution. If you want to make things 100% complete you can also attach the "wavedev.dll" from your Windows folder provided it can be copied. Happy logging
AGEphone Mobile 2.76 Speakerswitch Edition can be downloaded directly here. The program costs $35 USD and there is a free trial version available. I'm looking forward to your remarks and questions here in the thread, by mail to [michael // ageet // com] or in the page chat on our homepage!

Mogul/Titan (6800)
Wow. Finally, someone has resolved this. Congratulations and great job.
Now, to make me a customer, please add the Titan (Mogul) HTC 6800 to the list of phones you plan to support.
Thanks.

Trying to add my own SIP server but getting an error message:
The available data is insufficiant or wrong. Please check again.
Tried everything but keeps returning with this message. Can you give me a solution?
It is working now. Needed to add Username and authorization to save it.

im excited!
I have to get my voip running again on my Kaiser first.
But is this app a voip client also?

Is possible to redirect the calls to internal speakerphone using skype mobile or fring?
thank you

@jmmertens: Many connection and provider related problems can't be resolved without having a closer look at your configuration and the output AGEphone Mobile generates while trying to connect to your provider. To protect private settings like username and password we never (or rarely) ask for your configuration files but rather request two types of logs. The more general one can be found under "Menu - About - More...". Please press "Save" and the program informs you where you can find the "Info.txt" it created. The more detailed configuration file will only be generated on request as it would get too big if it was running all the time. You can set AGEphone to write this log under "Menu - Settings - Maintenance" and there "Create Detailed Log". The program informs you that this will decrease your available disk space and you should only leave the option enabled until you have encountered your problem again. The "log.txt" file can be found under "My Documents \ My Phone Booth". Please send the log files to michael//ageet//com (you know what to make of this

@GLO: AGEphone Mobile 2.5 is a full blown VoIP-softphone that doesn't need the Windows Mobile client to run. Actually it goes way beyond what Microsoft's crippleware offers(not that I blame them as the providers didn't want functional VoIP in WM6).
@nazzza: The function is closely related the AGEphone Mobile's audio processing and can't be used by other applications.

Is there a setup guide?
if not what is Realm and Registrar in the SIP Server info page?
and how do you toggle between your VSPs?
Does it support dial plans or least cost routing?
thanks

@GLO: Our setup (there's no guide covering the new version as of now, but feel free just to ask here) has a few options more than your average VoIP-softphone as we try to support all kinds of providers around teh world. Some (especially Japanese providers) use more exotic and obscure settings and that's what you need Realm and registrar for sometimes. But usually Realm + username merely equals your SIP-URI ([email protected]) and if the registrar is different from the normal SIP-Server your provider usually says so. Just as an example:
Realm: voipbuster.com
Domain: voipbuster.com
Server: sip.voipbuster.com
Registrar: sip.voipbuster.com
would be a typical setup for one of the many Betamax VoIP-Providers (to be found here in overview).
Toggling between your VSPs can be done using the Provider Quickswitch by pressing [Enter], the [Action Button] or double tapping the touch screen. You can also hold the button / screen a bit longer and you get to see your provider list to choose from.
Apart fom that AGEphone Mobile 2.5 currently does not support dial plans or least cost routing. We have plans for the future in that area to cater to people with more complex setups where the Provider Quickswitch is of little or no help anymore.

Htc Touch Elfin external speaker
Hello Falk,
I have it working but not with the internal speaker on my Touch Elfin (Touch XL). All sound comes from the external speaker.
We are running SpheriCall.
Any other setting that I missed?
------
Touch Elfin is working now too! Did a reset and now it works!
-------
I have the HTC Touch Cruise(Polaris) working with the internal speaker. Audio Settings speaker Default and in Interface Switch speakers during call.

@jmmertens: Please send me the your log files by PM or mail and I will take a closer look at this. It seems that there are some problems with the Touch that need to be ironed out.

Sorry was to quick posting
Can confirm now that it works on the HTC Touch Elfin and the HTC Touch Cruise. Well done!!
Have to do some extended testing to see if it works without problems. One thing I noticed is the volume this is much louder that the standard Voip from Microsoft.

Nice to hear that! When you say that the volume is louder, do you mean it in a good or bad (artifacts) way? I seem to recall that people were complaining that the volume was too low with the MS SIP-implementation, but I may be wrong about that one.

just used the trial version on my trinity. Works great. The sound comes from the earpiece! Thank you!
There is one issue i found though. I tried to establish connection with a PC running the voipcheap.com SIP client, but it says that the AGEphone does not support encrypted calls. Is there a way to allow encrypted calls in AGEphone?

The volume is perfect now. When I put the slider to the max it is really loud in a good way. This is much better that MS sip.

thanks Falk,
I have it set up and have called my landline to see what happens with the speaker, and it appears to work! Great Stuff.
Now i will test it by actually connecting and speaking to someone.
Also, i created 2 new voip accounts with the same isp, but different numbers. I saved them as follows
Exetel 0280063388 and Exetel 0280063399
however the 2nd shows as
Exetel 0280063399;1
why is that?
Lastly, i suspect that this may have a big hit on power consumption. I will test more throughout today.

Voipbuster problem. Blocked. Not registered yet ??
I downloaded the trail version and just installed it. Trying to get my voipbuster account to work, but get the error message : Blocked. Not registered yet.
However am online in voipbuster on my laptop ?
I followed the info from the voipbuster SIP configuration on the website of Voipbuster so should be OK.
What am I doing wrong ? I would really like to try this as I travel a lot and usually have wifi connection around....
Thanks
Daan

Alternative to Jetware Mobile 1.31

Has anyone seen or uses a similar application to jetware mobile to enhance the bluetooth on your PDA??
I use BatteryStatus, It can place a (bluetooth, wifi) shortcut on today....
Have a look also to Ilauncher....
With that you can have what ever icon you want on your today....
So bluetooth, wifi, shortcuts to other program ecc.....
You can also edit the icon with your own...
That is a very nice app...
Thanks for the reply but what I am actually looking for is similar to jetware which adds extra profiles to the bluetooth stack not icons, it helps with devices or bluetooth car kits that can read sms etc
Battery status does not actually add anything or extend the bluetooth stack.
I wonder if we can contact the author of the jetware extension to release the source code. He's obviously not doing anything with it anymore.
Top! UP! UP!
Yep UP! i'm also looking for a way of extending the BT stacks functionallity without having to replace the stack itself. Perhaps we really should try to contact the author of jetware
No other app in this world to function like Jetware extension?

may i ask why are you looking for a similar one and not use this one?
i am asking 'cose i found myself long time ago that is causing some problems
with the BT communication....do you have the same problems?
In my case there are some minor problems with BT connection and it also does not deliver entire functionallity that i require - like PBAP and other stuff
Same here. It's not finished and the developer just kinda dissapeared two years ago. Sooo we're looking for someone to take over. Someone please take over on this! There could be a lot of money involved. I would pay up to $100 to get this done!
I'm on the case
Also, what is PBAP?
Ok I think I've found everything I need to get started on this. Since I don't have a device to test this with, I need to know what feature you think would be easiest to implement or what feature you want the most. ie: List contacts, list messages, etc.
This way, I can focus on implementing this one thing, and once it's working i'll know i'm on the right track and can move on from there.
maybe "Pocket Bluetooth Tools" is what u'r looking 4 ?

i'm gonna go try this on my pioneer bluetooth
*update* pocket bluetooth works perfect with my pioneer in-car bt unit.
HI guys
Just wondering does Jetware 1.31 work well enough with car kits? I tried my Polaris with the Alpine KCE-350BT and it doesn't work so am about to test it using Jetware. Just wanted to know do you need to run Jetware each time or just for the initial phone book upload? Once the contacts are uploaded i think it should work properly without running Jetware correct?
Just can't really place anything on the today screen or a shortcut, so interested to hear if there is anything else better.
thanks,

this didn't seem to work on my HTC TC.
Anyone else close to a working alternative? I really need something to replace OBEX and use the PBAP format to upload contacts to Alpine car kit.
Are there any registry fixes or does WM6.1 get around the problem as claimed by MS.
Cheers,
I can report that theJetware 1.31 works perfectly on my Orbit II with Parrot 3200LS car kit (use the Disable Synchro phone profile and then send contacts via Jetware).

How do you go about disabling synchro phone profile - is it the same with touch cruise?
I never really 'got' Jetware. Do you just need to send contacts once to the car kit? Also i assume you are meant to toggle bluetooth on/off using the Jetware shortcuts, not the normal bluetooth??
Thanks- i'm going to go bakc to the shop and test it now i've got a 6.1 Rom on, as the OBEX was a problem so perhaps with this turned off in adv. config. it may work (fingers crossed).
When you go to pair the phone on the Parrot, you should see 'Disable Synchro' in the list of phone types available. Select this and then proceed with pairing. Once paired, you can go into the Jetware extension (Contacts area) and Send all your contacts. The huge plus is that if you use automatic synch, you will get duplicate entries for every phone number held for a given contact. If you use the Jetware Extension to send contacts, you get one entry per contact, with all the numbers correctly identified as mobile, home, work.
Then when you dial, you say the contact name, then 'home' or 'work' etc. If you use voice dialling this is essential, otherwise you have to record every number individually (voice tag "John Doe home", "John Doe work" instead of one tag "John", then "mobile" or "home" when prompted for number type).
I hope that makes sense, but since your message is two weeks old (sorry, haven't been here for a while) you may have it figured out.
AFter all that, it seems the developers at Jetware have given up. They don't respond to email and the link to purchase the software is broken/dead. That's a bummer as I have lost my activation code and just got a new phone....

Thanks for the reply - I have never seen this option of 'disable synchro' anywhere on the phone, jetware options or on the car kit interface.
It seems to be working well enough now, but the phone book did get corrupted and couldn't fix it till i paired another phone then mine again. (contacts were mixed up - some first name last name, and didn't show /H or /M for home or mobile etc but seem ok now).
Part of it could be having to be patient with the Alpine BT kit, as it takes a while 'updating' on pairing to copy all the info again. Still doesn't work as fast or as reliably as i'd hoped, but probably good enough. May not have this phone forever, but don't want to get another one yet.
It's a shame they aren't supporting their product any more. Hopefully someone else could improve it or write something better, as the one annoying thing now is that i can't put the phone into sleep mode when i press the button - keeps powering back on to full lit screen, every few mins which wastes the battery as well as distracting when the phone is in the car mount- now i just have to lock the device as a workaround.

VOIP - Can speak but I can't hear anything.

Hello,
I setup my voip on the PK3.0 rom, its dialing and it almost works. Except that I can not hear anything, I can speak and the other party hears me just fine, but I can not hear them, anyone came across this? What can you recommend to fix this?
bump, still no resolution to this, it works fine one way. But I can't hear anything the other person is talking....
Anyone?

Hi Guys,
I am trying to run VoIP on my device (which is not athena by the way) and have absolutely the same issue. I have very good knowledge in the voip networks and very good experience and this thing makes me crazy (believe me)
As what i already found is there shouldn`t be any issue:
the RTP is going between the end points without any troubles on the correct ports and everything looks just perfect - i.e. there is no any network issue, SIP communication (SDP related) issue or whatever like that
The possible problems for me are as follow:
- codecs issue - actually if you can make a call and the other side pick it up without the line to be dropped, then this is not the case (at least the codec on windows mobile is working)
- the audio output device - the audio is trying to go out trough a device which is not present on your system - so you are not hearing anything.
I will be glad to chat to anyone who have the same issue and can help me to debug the problem and find the permanent solution. I don`t have big knowledge on windows mobile devices (but at least know how to install cab files and modify the registry settings - hehe) so to anyone who is in deep relationships to this system and can help me -- give me your msn/icq/skype/jabber contact and lets pray together

Hi!
I start by stating that I finally got it "working"! Yeahh! This "thing" costed me a hard reset and a lot of frustration. Let me write down what I think is the issue/"solution".
I say "working" because it is almost impossible to get the sound out of the Athena, unless you use a bluetooth headset (I haven't tried the wired one) and the supplied Voice Dialer.
To keep it short, for the Athena X7501 here is what you need to do to have "native" VoiP working partially as thought:
Connect the BT headset
Leave the Voice Dialer activated (Cyberon Dialer, provided in the original ROM). That means that the relevant entry in the registry shouldn't be set to '0': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\LaunchAPEnable
Connect to your VoiP Servce and launch the phone. Now you should see your VoiP provider as agent. Dial the number (Good luck with the ipdialplan.xml) and you see that the Voice Dialer pops-up! Ignore it. The relevant communication port is happily already taken by the VoiP. You hear the sound on your bluetooth Headset. If you like, you can now transfer the sound to the speaker!
To my understanding, after having spent hours on this issue, I think that this is due to a DLL modified by HTC. Don't ask me which one. There is NO registry entry you can play with to solve it, unless you 're really lucky with the DLLs provided. It seems that there was some kind of agreement to make life very difficult to those trying to communicate through VoiP. I personally use VoiP only at home and don't bother too much. Maybe all this is history in the cooked ROM. Let's see.
If you don't need the Voice Dialer, then I suggest you use Fring. It works well both ways. However to use a Bluetooth Headset, you need to deactivate the Voice Dialer in the registry.
I hope this helps.
Rgds
Dod
P.S. The above are applicable to the original US Rom of X7501
There has been a discussion at Skype with respect to 6.1 and Skype failing to work correctly http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=112059
Maybe this might be of help.
Strange problem. Maybe you can try with software like fring.
Ran it on pk3 without any trouble and now running it with the 6.1 rom and still working fine

[APP][22FEB10]TMC R&D: Get TMC from the FM radio of your device

The project have finnaly reached final V1.0 stage. It is based and born from the great project of forum user flywhc that you can read in "RDS-TMC FM Radio R&D: Get radio text, Alt Freqency, free TMC etc" thread.
This one is based on flywhc API ver 1.6: . It is operational and can be used with DecoRDS, iGo 8, Route 66, Navigon and any other program that supports Royaltek or GNS protocols for TMC.
01/19/2010: Added Samsung I800 support thanks to user phjz. Still in beta stage so you have to follow this instructions . Use this thread to report issues to phjc.
What is new in V1.0.1:
-New cab for Eten/Acer users with GFMAPI for Eten V1.0 : Solves some issues with the volume.
What is new in V1.0:
-New cab for Eten/Acer users with GFMAPI for Eten Beta 8.
Currently it works with M900 and M800 Eten/Acer devices only.
-Solved the issues with FM radio mute
-Solved the issues with sound redirection to speaker.
-No need to use beta 5 anymore, but I leave it in download area
What is new in Beta 9:
-GNS scan down support
What is new in Beta 8:
-Full GNS protocol support. Tested under iGO and Navigon
GNS needs TMC+GPS option to be selected althought if it is not, HyperGPS will send fake GPS sentences.
-Less CPU consumption and lower memory footprint
-Optimized test program: Now RSSI is correctly shown under Royaltek mode, unused buttons are hidden under GNS mode and all the behaviour has been polished.
-RDS and TMC indicator in test program.
-Log mode redesigned to make more useful and readable logs.
-Removed fake RDS message under Royaltek mode. Not necessary with correct timmings.
-Soved an issue with block ratio not always sent.
Known Issues:
-The FM radio can't be used for music, news, while the driver is active even if it is closed.
-If the driver is leaved loaded when not in use, the FM radio is on, what means a small current is dropped from your battery. Again HGPS_Switch can be helpful with this issue.
Install:
Use the cab provided to install/upgrade your current version. The cab will create a program entry in "Programs"
If necesary install the certificate beemer_cert.cab
For Windows Mobile Standard only: Download the "HGPSClient FOR SMARTPHONES.zip" file, unzip and copy it over the instaled one in \Program files\HGPSClient\HGPSClient.exe. Is a bad modification that at least will allow you to access to al configuration fields. I'll improve this in future releases.
Testing:
With the headphones connected...
1-Start HyperGPS. A screen with several options will be shown:
-COM Port: select a free port on your device. I use COM9: and COM6: but any not listed on HKLM\Drivers\Active subkeys neither reserved for bluetooth should work.
-FM Band. Select the band that applies in your country
-Data output. Select "TMC" for programs that use separate serial ports for GPS and TMC and "GPS + TMC" for those with only one port connection.
-Sound output: Select Speaker or headphone for the main PDA sound output.
-Mute radio: Select Mute or tuned sound for testing.
-Log Mode: Not logged or data logged.
-Protocol: Select royaltek or GNS. For testing porpouses use Royaltek. Also for initial GNS tunning select first Royaltek.
2-Press the TMC button. The driver must load inmediatelly being shown at the top of the page. If an error pops up, you should install beemercert.cab. Some devices (or ROMs) needs the driver to be signed, others not. This driver is signed but as long as Verisign wants 400$ for a certificate I've done my own one, but it needs to install my certificate.
3-Once loaded, select Menu-Test
The test screen appears. We will use this to find a station that transmits TMC. You can enter a frequency directly in the top box ie: 95.8 and press Set, or tune with |< < > >|.
In the Send Box you will see the commands sent to the driver, and in the Receive the responses from the driver. Once you have found a TMC capable station you will see responses. The format depends on the protocol used.
The RDS/TMC indicator will show you if the station has that capabilities.
Man button means that the tunning is set to manual. Press it and the tunning will change to Auto and the driver will automatically search for a TMC enabled station.
GNS only support scanning UP but doesn't support auto mode in the test program. Also it doesn't show signal level.
5-You can leave the driver loaded and exit the program for testing porpouses, but it is STRONGLY RECOMENDED that you use HGPS_Switch to manage the driver and launch your navigation program.
Using it with iGO 8:
-Select Royaltek and TMC data on the driver.
-Open Igo, go to settings, TMC and select Royaltek and the port defined for the driver and press find hardware. You will see a screen that allows you to tune the radio. Use the automatic search function or unselect the automatic tunning and search manually the frequency that transmits TMC. Once reached you will see a message indicating TMC presence.
-Then you can go to the Map, tap in the GPS icon, and then in the car and you'll see the traffic alerts.
Using it with Navigon:
-Select GNS protocol and GPS+TMC data in the driver.
-Open Navigator, go to GPS settings, select combined receiver and the port defined for the driver. Go to Traffic and configure TMC. Select Fixed frecuency or automatic. You will see the TMC messages received.
-HGPS_Switch:
I've developed a small utility called HGPS_Switch.exe that can be used with ANY of the HyperGPS versions.
Its is a small program that will load the HyperGPS driver, launch your navigation program, wait for navigation program exit, and then unload the driver.
With the driver being "fresh" loaded every time iGO starts, it should avoid the no TMC on second igo start issue. Also being unloaded when not in iGO, it should solve the No Awaken from suspend issue.
Also, with the driver unloaded the FM can be used to hear music
I've done it in a way that allow using it with different navigation or RDS applications withouth needing to change configurations.
1-Copy the HGPS_Switch.exe file from \Program Files\HyperGPS to the navigation application folder.
2-Create a link to the navigation application executable in the same folder.
For example, in your desktop, navigate to your mobile device, find the iGo8.exe file, and with the right mouse button select Create link.
You can do also wiith copy/paste link in Resco explorer
3-Rename the link to NavApp
For example, if you have igo8.exe.lnk rename it to NavApp.lnk (maybe you can't see the .lnk extension but it is there).

Unloading the driver:
-In this version you can't use the FM radio while the driver is loaded. To unload it enter the HGPSClient program and press TMC again until it unloads. Can take up to a minute and is faster if you disconnect the headphones.
-If you are using HGPS_Switch, the driver will unload automatically on navigation program exit.
Reception
User Nakebod have done an excelent tutorial about improving reception with a custom made FM antenna. You can find it here.
NOTES:
The driver needs the GPS intermediate driver to have a COM: output port configured. It is the usual behaviour on devices with GPS, but for those of you that cannot connect to the driver at all, please verify this.
Unninstalling:
Unninstall or upgrade it as any other Windows Mobile program, but for faster unninstall or upgrade be sure than the driver is unloaded prior to do it.

Thanks beemer for adding my donation link and thanks donors for your support.
I listed all donations to my account in my first post of FM Radio RDS thread.
Note: please always use GFMAPI.dll come with hyperGPS. HyperGPS won't work with other version of GFMAPI. Also GFMAPI has to be digital signed in order to work with HyperGPS
Supported devices
HTC Diamond
HTC Raphael
HTC Blackstone
HTC Polaris
SE Xperia X1 NOTE: if your X1 has new media panel that integrated with FM Radio function, you may have to disable this panel.
HTC Topaz
Eten/Acer M800/M900/X650/V900 etc
Omnia II is supported by phjz's work.
NOT supported devices
HTC Rhodium/Leo cannot receive RDS data by using GFMAPI.
HTC Artemis is NOT supported yet.
I need help from VC++ developers with a HTC Artemis or Rhodium in order to get them working. See RDS FM Radio thread for details.
so I've tried the new driver:
- tuning goes much faster!
bugs:
tmc signal and frequency are correct. testsoftware shows receiving tmc signal.
after starting igo8, setting port and royaltec protocol manually and clicking "start autosearch" it says: tmc hardware found! ok.
i can now tune the frequency. i go to 99.2 (WDR2 in germany) and i can now listen to WDR2 but it says "no tmc" and you can't see any rds infos. after some time (20 - 40 sec) you can hear a little crack sound from the speaker and seconds later it goes back to the tmc port settings and says "no tmc hardware found" it sounds like the radio gets a restart or the radio gets disconnected from the driver. after that, i can't find a tmc hardware anymore until reinitialising the tmc driver.
what could be wrong here?
Another bug (maybe) on Touch Diamond 2.03
As soon as i get a gps lock with igo8.3
i can not receive tmc messages anymore (or very slow). It feels like the signal strength goes down.
Without having a lock i do receive a lot of TMC messages in a short time - in about 1 or 2 minute(s), i´ve received all available. Even TMC Pro seems to work.
Does anyone else have this difficulty. Or is it just not enough testing (i tested it 3-4 times - after no lock, i can get message instantly) ?
I have porblem with sound on my HTC Touch Pro from O2 Czech republic (ROM 1.90.401.1; radio 1.02.25.19).
When i set "Sound output"=Speaker my iGO play in headset
Where is problem? In my phoune, or in aplication? Help me please
(Sorry for my english, but I speak englisch very litle)
This Alpha2 version is much better!
Tuning in IGO only takes 3 seconds (per step) instead of 10 seconds in Alpha1.
Actually; the auto tuning function does work(!!!) what is exactly the reason not to use it beamerTPPC???
ok i found out, that the tmc driver hangs or crashs after its use in igo.
i start the tmc test prog after loading the tmc driver. i can see that the driver gets a lot of tmc data. i leave the test prog open (listening to the radio) and start igo. as soon as i am connected to the tmc port and can see the frequency, the connection between driver and tmc signal crashs. there is no error message but when i minimise igo and look at the test prog where the radio is still playing, the prog doesn't seem to get any tmc signals. you can still see the lines from the log where all the tmc data was received but now its hangs...
thats the reason why you get back to the settings screen and it says "no tmc hardware found" or you just can't find any station with tmc.

Nice testing!! I think I have the same problems, until now I am not able to test the TMC signal in IGO because there is no traffic. But I do have the symtoms as you describe. Especially that after a while IGO doesn't find the TMC hardware.
Ok amazing how fast the versions come out!
I tested the newest version, but i have the same problems like with the last versions. Ican't find tmc messages. I found out that these radio stations send tmc messages:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_Message_Channel#Deutsche_TMC-Sender
so i choosed "ANtenne bayern"
here you can see that in munich where i life it's 101.3
http://www.pdl.de/frequenzen.html
I can hear it without problems but it says $RTRDS not $RTTMC!!!!
What can i do to test the tmc messages manually?
ANother question is: Does igo only detect hyper gps when TMC-Data has been found?
thanks
P.S. i think when this program works perfect a year old dream came true.....this should bring a big donation to you guys
Works exccelent for me! Using iGO8 v8.3.2.83157 (Apr 3 2009).
Just copied 2 dlls to win directory, ran HGPSClient.exe, set to port 9, used TMC ready radio station (googled for that) and within first 2 mnts I recieved over 140 warnings!!
PS: I'm in suburb of Prague, Czech republic
Has been using iGO for about 30mnts now and no dissconect problem at all. Seems to be steady solid.
YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME!!!!
Thanks a zillion!!!
I've tested this driver combined with iGO with some success, but unfortunately also with some misfortune.
The driver works quite well for me actually and iGO is able to use it.
But at some point it went terrebly wrong; The driver would not load anymore, complaining about unavailable COM port (I use it at COM9 all the time). It turned out that it somehow managed to disable the GPS receiver as well, or mess up the COM ports, since the HTC GPS tool can't open COM4 anymore....
Back to HyperGPS, trying all the COM ports from 1 to 9, it won't install on any. A softreset does not help at all....
A hard reset did in the end. I won't use it for now, but I'll certainly keep watching it. It looks promising!
Second Alpha tested
Tested on Diamond P3700 (NL, Standard ROM, iGO8)
As long as I just start it once, it seems to run stable.
Still missing the output to speaker while radio's in mute. It just outputs to headphones. I've tried disabling the HTCVolume (there's a topic on this in the Diamond section) but that did not solve it.
But it's very promising - actually even very usable.
Great going guys and a donation is surely coming!
Alpha 1 stayed connected longer...
That aside seems to still work, tuning is much faster now.
Signal strength meter is a big plus
Same issue as with alpha 1 with regards to the gfmapi not loading anymore after a soft reset on my TouchHD,easily fixed by deleting the dll and overwriting.
Several station in my area state that they have TMC but (no key)...does the station have to have (Key OK) to work? I tried running igo w/o moving and a certain station worked fine (key ok), tried it later on and all I got from it was (no key)...
HTC Touch HD
ROM: 1.14.479.3(25874) WWE
Radio: 1.09.25.14
I did everything as per the opening post. When I am in test mode I can clearly receive TMC messages. As soon as I start IGO8 and enter setting-TMC, the appropriate frequency is displayed and a message, that there are no TMC evens. After a couple of second this display disappears, and get the main TMC settings window, indicating, that there is no recognised TMC receiver available. Than if I wait for quite a long time, RDS message is displayed, and the sound og the radio station can be heard for a fraction of a second.
Pretty weird.
Do you think this can be down to the ROM and Radio versions?
regards

Yes, the station has to have "Key OK" in order to receive TMC. If you purchased the subscription, and have the right radio station, it should work. iGO did detect some stations in my area with TMC data that weren't part of my subscription, so for those, I got the "No Key" message. But for the ones I'm supposed to get valid TMC data for, it works brilliantly.
I did have the issue described in the post prior to mine where a station that sshould've had TMC data did not report any, and then i got the "no TMC hardware found" message. I was able to re-configure right in iGO to get it working again. I'm going to test it out on my drive home to see how well its working.
Navigation sound output
May I ask if anybody is also being unable to port sound of actual iGO navigation to speakerphone rather than headphones? No matter what settings in HGPS I choose, I will always end up with sound in headphones.
Edit: OOps, missed the post above...so I guess I'm not alone....
As I suggested on the original topic this topic 'came from', I will make a Wikipage about this and keep it updated, with the help of everyone of course.
I wanted to do this today, but there were some problems with the wiki. I will create the page soon and fill it with all info I cann find in both topics.
before you hard reset ...
On my Touch HD (Dutty eXtreme 2.8 ROM), experienced pretty much same behaviour as stated many times here already -- nevertheless, for those who had to hard reset their device or are just about to do that:
I was just about to do that since, as the driver was not responding anymore, I soft reset'd the device and TouchFLO would not load anymore; further the terminal was terribly sluggish. Deleted the dll files, did soft reset at the very least 7 times and still no luck. So my last desperate try was removing the battery for like 10s and .... everything back to normal!
So my 2 cents take would be that removing the battery cleared the RAM (would have expected the WinMo to do that upon boot though), therefore maybe either the driver or the API access an unproper memory location... time to check void * pointers
Anyways, thanks and congrats for the AWESOME work guys!
ok, copied both files to windows directory, launched hgpsclient, checked all the options, clicked the TMC button to load the driver, and I get ERROR: cannot load driver, try installing beemercert.cab or another COM port, so I installed beemercert.cab, soft reset, same error, I have tried every port listed and get the same error. any clues?
COM4 still works, gps test and igo8 still work perfectly, but the tmc driver still won't load, and I'm not very keen on doing a hard reset.

VoIP Finally

I have been trying to set up a VoIP client on my Windows Mobile phone for a long time, starting with the HTC Wizard which I could never get to work.
I have finally managed to get a VoIP client with a really nice interface working on several phones that I have tried it on.
I am using ViaTalk as my provider but it should work with any VoIP provider.
It works great (with a slight delay, nothing that I can't live with) on an unlocked HTC Sprint Touch Pro 2, a T-Mobile HD2, a HTC Diamond and an HTC Fuze.
The application is by NCH software out of Australia and it is free to use, or if you want to unlock all of the features of the application, download and register the business edition.
Here is the URL for the download:
http://www.nch.com.au/talk/pocket.html
Or if you would like, PM me and I will be happy to send it to you as an attachment to an email.
Only known issue is when the phone goes in to power saver mode it drops the WiFi connection but that should be an easy fix, right now I am simply pressing the power button and it comes right back and the connection is still alive.

I am using the paid version but the only difference is that it unlocks some additional features that most people proably don't need anyway.
It is not trialware so it has no expiration.
thx you man, i'm trying this app since yesterday; works good!! easy to configurate, i'm using the free version because; i don't have 2 line, i don't use conferente mode... but it will be interesting trying these features xD
How does this app compare to AgePhone?
Hello,
why not to give a try to PortGo !
http://www.portsip.com/softphone.htm
The free version is sufficient and very simple to use, even with several providers (I currently use 2). Skin and language are easy to adapt if necessary (I've made it for French), see also here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508715

I really couldn't tell because I have never tried AgePhone.
I have tried most of the different VoIP clients mentioned throughout this site but I have never been able to get one to work right until I tried this one.
It could be that I am too stupid to configure them right or it could also be that they simply don't work very well, I can't say.
As for PortSIP, I never got it to work right and the developer dropped off line a while back as far as I can remember.
This little VoIP client that I am using has got a clean interphase, it is easy to configure, it does not require any special "helper" apps. so I am happy with it.
Hope that some of you enjoy it too.
I sincerely don't know the use of that softphone over the built-in VoIP for WinMo (WM65VoIP.cab, ultimate.VOIP.WM6.5.cab - available in several threads here) - except you need 2 lines? Especially as these guys do not use the WinMo address book! I don't want to manually add 600 adresses to any additional phone book.
The above mentioned cabs integrate into WinMo and use WiFi or 3G-connections. The phone rings as ususal and displays who called (from WinMo address book). The call is even entered into WinMo callog (only disadvantage: You don't see if a call was made/received via GSm or VoIP). I use them on my TP2 (WinMo 6.1), HD2 (WinMo 6.5.5) and even had a cab file for HTC Artemis (WinMo 5). All works/worked pretty well
So what's the use of these softphones?
Cheers, Franky

I have mine set so that the light always stays on until I turn it off(I turn off auto back-light, my preference). So, no issues there. Additionally, I think there is a setting or app that will allow WiFi to run even while the phone sleeps. Or perhaps it is set into a low-power mode until the power key is pressed?
Howto in France ?
It seems great but how could I make it work in France.
My provider (mobile or at home) is SFR.
Thanks in advance to all for your answers.

I finally got around to attaching the setup file to my original post so it can now be downloaded directly from this site
Hi,
I suggest to please change the title to "Express Talk for WM".
I already tested it on my Ultimate 8502. I can call but can not receive incoming call. It ring but after receiving, it stop ringing with no active call and no sound. Any solution?
thanks

After installing Pocket Talk and configuring it I get the message that my handheld device is blocking UDP port no 8000 and 5060. Of course it isn't but I can't make callas. Has anyone had the same problem?
installation unsuccessful
It fails to install for me...
I connect my HTC Mega (Windows Mobile 6.5, moded rom), I start the setup, my phones screen shows the installer but than says "Installation of NCH Swift Sound Pocket Talk.CAB was unsuccessful"
Doesnt matter if I choose MainMemory of StorageCard.. there is plenty of free space on both of them.
Any Ideas? Are there any prerequisites? I checked the NCH forum but couldnt find any help...
PS: trying to install directly from the .cab it leaves on my storage card wont work either
Hi sorry for my bad english, setup doesn't work on my hd2 why???

Is there a way to set VoIP the first option and phone the second one, using 3G (not wifi) ?

Bluetooth contacts synch problems

Hi everyone!
I just bought the Redmi Note 2 phone and the Zeblaze Crystal watch and after connecting the watch to the phone I found out that the contacts can not be synchronized. I have my contacts synched with Google and Mi accounts and also on both SIM cards but for some reason the watch can not see them. Everything else is working - I can read my SMS, call cogs etc, but the contacts can not be seen by the watch.
Later on I tried to connect the phone to my car and it connects and works fine - I make and accept calls but again the contacts can not be synched. The car has a very good Bluetooth settings menu and a specific function for contacts downloading but when I try to download the contacts after a few seconds it stops and gives a "not possible" message. I can only download the call log... Just like with the watch...
So I am starting to believe that it is a problem with the phone - maybe something with the MIUI settings (MIUI ver. 66.77.33.00).
With my wife's Samsung phone everything connects just fine and the contacts are synchronized immediately to the car or the watch so its really a problem with the phone.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
There is no such thing as MIUI ver. 66.77.33.00. You're probably running a bogus ROM filled with who knows what. Legit versions are something along the lines of 5.x.xx
But I've also read there is a bug that breaks contact synching via bluetooth and it doesn't seem to be fixed in the dev rom, yet. Can't really test it, don't have BT in a car or a smartwatch.
Developer rom name:
Y.M.D
Y = Year (2015 -> 5)
M = month
D = day
Stable rom name:
V.x.x.x
V = miui version (for example miui 6 -> 6 or 7 > 7)
x = some subversions
Resellers rom name:
VV.x.x.x
VV = double miui version (for example miui 6 -> 66, miui 7 -> 77)
x = some subversions

Crim Soukyuu: Thanks for your answer...
I am getting really confused - I am posting a screenshot showing the MIUI version and some other specs. The phone is really not behaving bad but there are some apps that I want to get rid of and I can not.
If there is a better clean ROM for this phone I may think about flashing it...
Please see the details on the screenshot and let me know what you understand out of it... I am really not too much in the MIUI/android versions...

" delirium Rom"
Ive got no Problem with that
@ratab: your version is rigged so that you will never get any official updates (simply because there won't likely be a MIUI v66 in the next decade). It might not behave weirdly on the surface, but you can never know what kind of spyware might be hiding in the background. Just flash a clean EU ROM and be done with it.
I had the exact same MIUI version on mine, so you're not alone. It was full of junk and a virus scan revealed two trojans. False positives, I assumed, but removed them nonetheless. The amount of junk on this phone beggars belief, so I'm glad I never hooked it up to my email or anything like that before getting a custom ROM.
It seemed like a completely legit version of MIUI, though. Got mine from gearbest.com.
EDIT: Oh and yeah, I haven't been able to sync contacts to my car either (Mazda 3). It seems to be audio only.
Thanks everyone for the support. I am really thinking about flashing the latest EU ROM - I will just have to read a bit more about flashing because really like the phone and do not want to loose it too soon doing something wrong during the flash...
Need some help in choosing the correct ROM for that phone...
I followed the link that Crim Soukyuu gave for a clean EU ROM - Multilang Dev MIUI v7 ROM - v5.10.16 but when I followed the download link there are two options - MIUI 6 and MIUI 7. And inside there are number of different files for downloading and I do not know which one to take. Would someone please help me with choosing the correct one?
Thanks!
You'd have to do something terribly wrong, like purposely pulling the battery mid-flash to hard brick the device. Even flashing a faulty ROM usually still allows you to boot into fastboot and flash a working ROM from there. I've had a few softbricked devices (recoverable from fastboot) and no hardbricked devices (not recoverable) so far.
edit: huh, sorry, didn't refresh the page before posting. You should get the newest release, namely 5.10.22 as it's reportedly has better battery life. So far it's been a good version for me.
As for MIUI6 vs MIUI7, take the 7 one. It has root built in and is the newest version of the ROM, while the 6 is the old stable one that doesn't have root, afaik.
edit2: oh and our device is codenamed "hermes", so you need the xiaomi.eu_multi_hermes_5.10.22_v7-5.0 one
Thanks for the prompt reply. I found it and already downloading...
Is there any how-to procedure to follow - I am really afraid of doing something wrong...
I also think the phone is not rooted and I will have to root it first and then flash the new ROM.
Then probably put it on the SD card and flash from there...
If you're on windows, you can try using this tool to get TWRP installed on your phone (don't have to unlock the bootloader). Boot into it (press vol+ repeatedly after turning it on) and allow modification (otherwise the mi recovery will delete TWRP on reboot). Then just wipe the phone and flash the ROM you've put on your SD card. It has shown me an error the first time I tried flashing the ROM, but after rebooting into TWRP once more it worked just fine.
Thank you very much for the assistance - flash done and all problems gone - the phone shares all contacts now...
Looks fine for now - I will need time to check the MIUI 7 but seems to be OK.
Thanks again!
Good stuff! I ended up flashing mine with the sAOSP ROM and got a fully working bluetooth sync with that :good:
So far so good - the phone acts really well with the new ROM and battery life is much better.
I have another question regarding the Bluetooth connections...
I was able to pair my phone to the smart watch (Zeblaze Crystal) and to my car's Bluetooth and successfully synched the contacts.
Using the car Bluetooth is simple and easy - the only issue I have is that the phone is dual SIM and when I try to dial from the car the phone always asks which SIM to be used and eventually after a few seconds the dialing is interrupted. I can always set one of the SIM cards to be the default dial SIM but then why having the two cards if I cannot chose which one to use. Unfortunately there is no option in MIUI 7 to assign a SIM to a contact and the phone will always ask and wait for my choice...
Same case when dialing from the smart watch so at the end - no remote dialing from a Bluetooth device without touching the phone... If anyone knows a good way to solve this issue please share!
On the other hand I have a different issue with the smart watch. When connected, the watch overtakes the phone function and during a call the audio goes through the watch (funny). My natural desire is to transfer the audio to another Bluetooth device (headset or earpiece) so I can operate my calls/messages/notifications from the watch and hear the audio from the Bluetooth earpiece without taking the phone out of my bag.
The problem is that when I disable the phone audio function for the watch connection and enable it for the earpiece the watch also looses the control/notification capabilities - it just stops notifying me about the calls and messages I get.
There are three options in the Bluetooth menu that allow me to use the watch for: Phone audio, Media audio and Input device. If I disable the phone audio it cuts also the notifications and then no meaning of having the watch at all...
Any idea how to set the three devices (phone, watch, earpiece) to work simultaneously???
Thanks!
