Hi all,
Just curious...Usually whenever I send emails from my mogul, it would send em out in plain text format. Since yesterday, after I upgraded to DCD 3.1.6, it appears to be sending emails in rich text format (looks as though you sent it from a regular computer). Don't remember seeing this DCD's list of changes - Anyone else notice this? This is a good thing of course, but just wondering...

Ok so I install the latest Sprint rom on my Mogul. It works perfectly. I dont use HTC today plugs so I have no memory leaks. After 11 hours I still have 20mb of memory left. The phone runs stable. No freezes. I use Spb mods for all my other needs and sirius radio, tcmp, flash bundle, opera mini for all my apps and needs. I run Slingbox and Orb to connect to my home PC media. I have zero problems with the phone so far.
The reason for my post is I was wondering what the benifit to using 6.1 would be. I dont have memory problems. All of the menues work the way I need them ect.. As far as I can tell 6.1 boasts better memory management? I realy cant find any claims to fame on the MS sites for it.
Any info is a big help ty much!
If you use SMS a lot, the new threaded SMS client is MUCH better in 6.1
Question about the threaded SMS. If I backup my sms and load it back in after loading DCD's rom, will it still be there with the new SMS program? Basically, I want to keep my SMSs just like I keep my emails. Does the SMS program use the same database to store them? Will I be able to view the old ones in threaded style? Also, does it distiguish between conversations or does it just thread all the sms between you and said individual?
Also, here's one thing I found talking about 6.1 advantages.

The only negative I've found is that WM 6.1's PIE seems to take quite a bit longer to "render" webpages.

After reading those ppl's comments, I clearly realize that most people are oblivious of the capabilities of WM phones. Also, the 2nd guy says he wishes he could get WM 6.1 on his XV6800. I want to tell him that he can, but that would make me more of a dork.
hahah!! i thought the same thing about that guy and his 6800! hahahaha

Yes, if you use PIM Backup to backup your SMS, when restored with WM6.1, it will restore it as threaded. It distinguishes the conversations. It will restore email like normal.

It does not distinguish the conversations in the way that Poke_N_PDA asked. Every interaction between me and my brother, for example, gets put into the same thread. We might not send messages for a week, but then once we do, it creates the messages in the same thread as our previous messages. You end up having a single thread for each contact you correspond with by text message.

I don't think I have a problem with that. It would be nice to be able to divide it yourself and start new conversations, but I can live without it.
Also, can you still view and look through messages individually like you could in 6.0? It would be really nice if they just set it up as a view option to where you could select different styles.
I was wondering if anyone has used the new arcsoft MMS in the new ROM. Was it supposed to be an update? improvements?

The new version on the VZW release is 5.0.70.24. I can receive MMS ok but SMS over 160 characters are cut off. I still receive part of the SMS along with the "Preceding msg modified, Media ojects were removed" error message.
I had my wife send the long text and she receive the following error message "Message Delivered to 7########5 as plain text Destination does not support enhanced messaging service"
It does not allow the addition of new servers or the viewing of the Verizon Wireless server settings.

This is a problem with Verizon's servers.. and not the arcsoft product.
GC14 has apparently dealt with Verizon extensively on this issue.. He talks about it in this thread (among others)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396951
That said... The new version "shouldn’t" cause any problems, and may actually offer something?? Maybe better memory usage, or bug fixes? But I dont really know.
I've been screwing with this version ever since I was given the update a while ago. There are a few issues with it I'm trying to work out, but when I'm done, it should provide an update for Alltel users as well.

I've been using it for about a week now...the main difference I noticed was with the picture messages, in version 5.0.31.25 the MMS are imbedded in the threaded SMS, and if you didnt save the content of the MMS and u received 6 or 7 new texts from the same person the message would be lost among ur other messages and u would have to click "view older messages" to get to them...
In version 5.0.70.24 each picture message is a seperate message, seperate even from the SMS messages from the same person...
but I haven't noticed anything more then that yet...
Is it possible to get this newer build as a .cab? Would it just drop in replace the existing arcsoft .cab GC14 made?

I regularly use version 5.0.31.25 and I never have issues. I send text messages everyday and many of them are longer than 160 characters but sending and receiving has been working fine for me. I sms Google (http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/mobile/default/sms/index.html) and many times there are multiple responses/search results and Arcsoft just breaks them up in to separate messages. When I view the messages, they are all together though, threaded view or whatever it's called.
I do deal with the whole lost messages issue if the phone is reset while Arcsoft is open still but as long as I close the program, it's fine.
Am I rambling about stuff that you guys aren't talking about?

You can send 160 + char texts... it's receiving that is an issue.. aparently it's only certain messaging servers as well.. I get a lot of automated texts from my server server monitoring systems.. most are over 160 Char, and most are cut off ( i only need the first few lines anyway).. but about 10% of them come through as part 1 and part 2 (broken up properly).... Guess it just depends on what servers do the delivering??
This has been the issue on every version I've tried...
Where did u guys get the new arcsoft MMS? I mean is there a cab out there or is it still being tweaked?

i flashed to the official VZW rom...I'm waiting on GC or DCD to rip the Arcsoft MMS out of the the new rom so I can flash to 3.2.6
They issue I am having is with text messages. Before dcd 4.1.2 I ran dcd 3.3.4. Under 3.3.4 say a friend of mine sent me 3 text messages. My message icon would so show three. I would open the conversation read the messages and close out. Then my message icon would show zero.
Using 4.1.2 when I open the conversation, read the messages and close, the message icon reads 2. So I have to open and close the conversation 2 more times to get the notification to go away. I absolutely hate this.
Can I change this with a registry hack or do I just have to go back to 3.3.4
I have my text messages set to threading. (IM style)
This is an issue with the new Win Mo core, not DCD. It's in all roms built with the new core. Hopefully there will be a work around in the future tho, cause it drives me nuts too.

With 3.3.4 not 3.2.6 sorry

a) this has already been asked numerous times. search before posting
b) there is a thread for 4.1, why are you making a new thread?
c) you dont have to open and close 3 times. just scroll up and let the cursor pass over any bold contact name. the contact name will become plain and you wont have messages listed. if you get 3 texts, open it, scroll up to the first new text, and then close out after.
I'm unable to comment on a Facebook Mobile Texts or reply "like" to a status via my facebook text. Example if I get a text from 358336 and it reads Pat is feeling good. If I text "like" to like that status it will not send it to 358336 it will send it to 358337 private message to the user inbox. Now I have tried everything to fix this even resetting my phone, flashing different roms and resetting my accounts setting on facebook still I cant reply to any texts from facebook.
Has anyone one else had this happen to them and if so, How did you fix it.
Happens to me too. That's an issue with Facebooks text service, not android or Eris so I don't think there's a way to fix it.

So is it still happening to you or did it just stop
Last I checked it was still doing that, after a few ppl on fbook told me I sent status comments to their inbox, so I got pissed and turned of texts alerts lol. Their text service has NEVER worked well for me, even on my old prepaid Samsung u350 (or whatever its called lol). I would set times I wanted texts, and would still get em all hours, I would sign up for friends, and only get a few, and worst of all when I had it set to NOT send me texts when I was online... I'd get em. So yea, their fault, their problem, and haven't seen any improvment in two years. I just stopped using it.

hi, I'm running the newest energy rom without HTC's messaging. I like the Windows messaging a lot better, but I constantly have problems with sending and receiving MMS. The biggest and most common problem is the message won't send, and I can't receive any until I send one, which requires restarting the phone. (I think)
I never had a problem with the MMS with HTC's client, so which version of HTC's client runs the best? Usually they lag while using SWYPE, so I'm hoping there is a CAB for one that doesn't.
Thanks in advance.
