[Q] HTC messaging Client - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, I'm running the newest energy rom without HTC's messaging. I like the Windows messaging a lot better, but I constantly have problems with sending and receiving MMS. The biggest and most common problem is the message won't send, and I can't receive any until I send one, which requires restarting the phone. (I think)
I never had a problem with the MMS with HTC's client, so which version of HTC's client runs the best? Usually they lag while using SWYPE, so I'm hoping there is a CAB for one that doesn't.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Can't send and receive SMS

Hello,
I've installed elelinux ROM on my Hero GSM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767886
I can't send receive SMS. Was having problem initially after installation, was unable to open any SMS. The messaging program was crashing. After that I've removed the stock MMS using this ROM http://www.elelinux.se/extra/delete_stock_mms.zip
Now getting this "Application is not installed on your phone". Kindly advice how can i install the messaging program.
hmmm... what about trying other message apks, such as Handsent, or Chomp...
made good experiences with handcent sms, free from the market... eye-candy and much more functional than stock sms/mms app.
Thanks a lot mates! The Handcent messaging working great.

[Q] Compose a new SMS very slow?

Has anyone had a problem with composing a new SMS and when you start to type the contacts name it take a much longer time for the list to come up then when they first got the phone?
It's always been slow for me.
I usually find typing faster will make the characters display faster - Maybe try a 3rd party messaging app from the playstore
are you using stock sense messaging app? if yes, its not that awesome. get a third party sms app from the market--i personally use jellybean messaging. it gives you stock jellybean for your messaging. only kink is that mms is broken in the latest update, but using the one before that will work.
I had this problem before on UKB Rom. After installing Virtuous ROM this issue was fixed, and now contacts search is really fast as it should be. I think it is a problem of Verizon SMS app.

[Q] MMS problems?

Hello all, im running my m8 completely stock but ive been having problems receiving mms,
either i get a message saying "one or more of the message components have been deleted by mms adaption, either hte message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset"
or
it just shows a timestamp but no picture (if i click on it and save it, i can view it through gallery)
any idea whats up or what i can do to fix it? i use to get the same mms adaption error messsage on my htc one x but thought it was just the phone, now im thinking its att or an htc problem
figured id try here before calling att, although maybe they could help
Strange. Stock AT&T branded handset? And stock Messaging app?
Maybe try going to Settings in the Messaging app, and reduce message size.
Yup stock att branded m8, and stock messaging app

[Q] Advice on purchase + capabilities (SMS)

Hey folks,
So here's the rundown.
My wife is deaf and communicates a whole lot via SMS. She cannot use voice telephony at all.
I am on Verizon, and they do have the Z2 available. I was looking at tablets that should support SMS.
Verizon does SMS via CDMA only so most of their tablets won't do SMS period. They tell me it is impossible, except I have a friend with an older Nexus 7 with CDMA and it works perfectly with straight SMS.
I have a tablet with LTE, and when I send a SMS message from it, it says it is coming from my phone, not the number assigned to the tablet....(this uses the built-in Verizon Messages app)
What I want to know is if I can add an SMS app, set it as the default, and then actually use it?
In the store, I installed 8SMS but Verizon appears to have removed the menu entries for setting default SMS app, and nor could I do it from within the application.
So, two things: Has anyone done this? Could someone give it a try?
Also, I am reading a whole lot about issues with the touch screen I had never heard of. Is this really wide-spread, or just a small sampling of this model? I really want a solid device for her to use. This will replace her phone and existing tablet if I can get the SMS to work. Do you recommend this device overall?
Yes, I know, I could install some crap app that emulates SMS but I really need to port her number and have the reliability of SMS. Frankly, I don't trust the companies providing SMS gateways on the internet...
I could possibly port her number to Google Voice, and just have her use that. Anyone know how reliable that would be?

[Q] App to remove from Group Chat

Hello, I am looking for an app that can actually remove me from a group message so that I do not receive tons of useless texts that end up using my data. Currently I use Google's Messenger as my main texting app, as we all know the stock one is terrible. This app works great and I love it, however when I get flooded with MMS it does not seem to know how to react and then refuses to send any SMS. Now I am also up to download another texting app if someone knows one that handles MMS better, I have tried Textra in the past however I kept recieving a notification that said something about my MMS APN but I never touched anything in Textra's settings to break that because it did work for a while. I am open to other options if someone has any ideas. Thanks
Handcent it's pretty reliable but has ads. I like hoverchat as well.
