Installation From SD Card - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I was trying to flash a new ROM to my Mogul, but I guess I have done something wrong. I get stuck at the HTC Smart Mobility screen. I have searched the forums and tried the kitchen stuff to build my own NBH file to run from the bootloader, but it says there are no files found. Can anyone help me out? Thanks so much!

Did you upgrade the radio and SPL??

I believe I was upgrading both.
I managed to fix it somehow. It finally read the USB from the bootloader. Thanks for responding though.

Radio cannot be flashed, always stops at 0%

I was handed what looked like a brand new I-MATE JasJam, except I was told that it was crashing a lot and could not make phone calls.
After reading lots of different posts on this site I have determined that the Radio's firmware is corrupt. There is "NO GSM" on bootup and no IMEI being listed.
I have been trying the last few days to flash the radio with a new version of firmware but have yet to get past 0%. I have had success flashing the device with Black 3.5 but the radio is still not flashing.
I have simunlocked and SuperCID the phone with success and I have tred USB Monitoring when I attempted to flash the radio device and have seen "AUX_process-FAIL..".
Before I keep trying with alternative ways of programming the RADIO is there anything I can do to determine that the RADIO is physically installed and electronically responsive. My concern is that perhaps the radio's hardware is broken and no amount of flashing attempts will ever bring it back.
Currently
IPL - 1.01
SPL-1.40.Olipro (I can install 2.10 if required..)
CID=SuperCID (Level 0)
Can Boot to OS ? Yes
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi man,
welcome to club!we have same problem and haven't found the escape way yet.you can see it here( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338413) and share your experiences.I hope we can find the solution.
How say Hamed, welcome to the club...But first look instructions on the wiki. For me and Hamed, there is no solution for now. Mean on the software way, to solve problem.
Hi
Used to happenb to me. I always flash bu sd card way. Just put the radio image on sd card in nbh format. Rename it to HERMIMG and go into bootloader. It will put the radio on. Alayas fails for me when i use the customruu
your radio bootloader is dead, you're basically screwed.
Thanks, thats all I wanted to know.
Appreciate your time.
Its not dead. Use the sd card method. My phone is back from the dead !

then quite clearly... your radio bootloader wasn't screwed.
Sorry I think you misunderstood. All im saying is that mine used to stop at 0% Every single time using windows to flash. I started using the sd card and it would freeze as well but kept trying and trying and eventually it would start to flash. Usually on sd card method it would freeze around 12% but then eventually go on and update success.. Try the sd card way and it may work. Remember I had the same problem , no gsm , no imei etc

Indie, can you please tell us which rom you try to flash via sd card? Are you use nbh tool v101 to extract shipped rom, only radio part on sd card, or you boot completely rom t-mobile wm 6 (which version???)? Please give to us details.

I would flash the htc official wm6 rom, or get any of the extracted radio roms from the wiki. Now i have the official tmobile wm6 rom uk rom somewhere on this site. I just put the radio or whole rom in nbh format onto sd card and rename it to HERMIMG. then go into bootloader and it will do the rest itself. The exe files from the official tmobile rom get extracted to your temp folder and creates the nbh format. Just copy it from there
Remember if it freezes , keep trying. I once had to try 10 times before it did my radio. i would wait 10 mins at a time for gsm. if it doesnt move by then its froze. reset and try again

I think that my radio bootloader is dead, because when I try in mtty rtask a and then rversion I get nothing in USB monitor. Is my radio bootloader dead, and is there now a soluiotn for recovering radio bootloader?
Well based on what others are saying in this thread; yes, you flash the radio or rom via SD Card instead of activesync, and you do so by going into bootloader manually...read the thread.
I tried that, but its the same. It stops on 0%. I saw that others that had this problem had a functional radio bootloader (0107 or 0108). Mine is corrupt!

Did Hard-spl, error 262 during flash, stuck on bootloader now, xp doesnt recognize

Hi,
I thought I did enough reading to hard-spl my g4 cingular 8125 but i guess not...
Anyways, I did the hard-spl and everything seemed to go smoothly. Then I went ahead and tried to flash the Touch no Evil ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327215).
About 4% into the flash I got error 262: update error. Now the device is stuck on bootloader with IPL 2.21.0001 and SPL 2.21.01ip. Plugging in the usb shows "USB" at the bottom left corner of the wizard's screen but I cant detect the device in windows. Since I cant detect the device, I cant remove hard-spl and attempt to reflash using soft-spl the stock 8125 spl and rom.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy the situation? Or did I just brick this thing
Any help or even linking to the right threads would be appreciated. A couple hours of searching didnt yield anything but maybe im looking for the wrong things...
Thanks,
Anushian
EDIT: More searching yielded this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276963&highlight=stuck+bootloader
Basically use MTTY_updateROM.exe to dump the ROM onto an SD Card and restore from that? I dont have a card on me so Id rather get some input before going to buy one just to try this... Mainly, I need to know if the hard-spl still renders the unit CID unlocked and capable of preforming this method.
hello
i had the same problem and it seems its the Ruu i guess you used the ruu thats in touch no evil rom but your device is ok use the wizard love rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613 and then flash again with the tool that said in g4.7 and it works dont flash to original rom because it contains isp spl and can brick your phone i hope it helps.

Hi and thanks for the tip. I tried wiz love rom flash again and this time it worked (didnt recognize usb first time?). Anyways it went up to 6% and died since the battery died. Im going to just get a standalone charger and charge it and try again. Will probably take 2 weeks to get here though...
My main question is, based on the info provided, is the phone bricked or is it still repairable with a reflash? I didnt find much info related to hard-spl and restoring with the SD methods besides just that the phone must be CID unlocked...
Thanks!
if you have hard spl then you have cid unlock so your phone is ok if you flash wizard love rom use the ruu thats is in wizard love folder dont flash any official rom, try to change from computer or stop running other programs while flashing and your device is not bricked unless you intall official rom.

Hi Solidus_k,
Thanks so much for the info, much appreciated. I'll give it a go again as soon as my charger arrives in the mail since my batteries dead. Just wish you didnt have to boot into winmo to charge...

Bootloader Update Issue

OK I received a brand new xv6800 from Verizon today. Haven't even activated it yet. Wanted to update it first. So i downloaded Hard-SPL-MFG.exe and ran it. I get to the boot loader screen and it reads 2.40. Then the directions state disconnect cable and reconnect. I do that and the boot loader shows that it is connected via USB, however I cannot get a new activesync connection unless i restart. But when i restart lose the 2.40 bootloader. and the update errors out. I have tried the titan exitbl file but it cannot find the usb connection.
What am I missing?? Do I need to go the SD card route (dont have one yet)
My bootloader is 1.04
Any help would be appreciated
Don't worry about activesync after you replug it in. Just keep following the instructions. As long as when you plug it back in, it says USB at the bottom, just keep going.
Ok that sort of worked. Now im stuck at the 2.4 bootloader screen Fun stuff
You can run the fix from here.
The same fix is probably posted here too I just don't know where.
Thanks ran that again and it worked so I am back in business. Since you happen to be here any suggestion on which kitchen and radio to install
See this post. It worked for me.
Im working on radio and got it from your link but there is no link in the post to a kitchen i was going to downlod the latest one fromt eh lifesnotgood link which is called "dcd_titan_kitchen_3.2.2.rar" that should work right?
I have never used DCD. I use ppckitchen.org. You may want to consider just loading a custom ROM first unless you know how to install and use a Kitchen already. Sometimes it is easier to flash a prebuilt custom and get your phone working, then start cooking and flashing your own.
With the ppckitchen you don't have to do carrier cabs, you just select your carrier in the kitchen.
OK i really appreciate all the help and I know i sound like a total noob but went to ppckitchen and everything i see is a kitchen i dont see a full rom, what am i missing
They only have the kitchen to make a ROM. belive DCD has some custom ROMS.
Thanks for all your help all installed and running, now just need to activiate with verizon
'Have a li'l question about updating to Olipro myself...
I could've swore that b4 I'd upgraded to Sprint OEM ROM v3.56.651.0, I could update to Olipro v2.40 via SD. Now, however, I'd had to do so via USB. Am I mistaken? Can you not use the .nbh file in the .exe pkg? I like bein' free of HAVING to use a desktop to accomplish PPC tasks.
Thanks, Everyone.
Just download DCD's 3.2.2 ROM on the 1st page of his post. He has a kitchen AND a ROM.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407376
As for using NueSPL 2.47, DO NOT use it until No2chem has finished his research on downgrading XV6800's.... While it has distinct advantages over olli 2.4, he's not sure about downgrading the bootloader to 1.X versions..... That is if you ever have to take your phone into verizon for service....

Issue trying to run RUU

Ok, im sorry if this has been posted someplace els but i searched for hours and couldnt find it. im trying to upgrade my 8525 to WM6.5 i have the files, but when ii go run RUU it comes up, i get the first 2 questions, i understand, and ive done the things and then when it goes to connect to the device i get "device cannot be Identified" i have tried a couple different downloads and get the same result every time. Thanks In Advance
Have you SIM-unlocked / superCID'd your device before trying to upgrade the bootloader / the ROM?
If not, that might be your issue. I found the device unlocking software by typing SuperCID into the "search" toolbar.
Hope that helps.
Sim is unlocked, now as for the CID im not really sure (forgive my noobishness im still getting used to Windows Mobile) is there a way to check to see if its been done previously?
OK so CID and SIM are now unlocked. but im still getting the error when i try to run the RUU to update to WM 6.5. It Acts like it wants to go but then error when trying to verify the device. i should mention that active sync says its connected and i can get to all my folders so the device is connected. (ps the RUU worked for the sim/cid unlocker but doesnt work for ther ROM or radio ROM)
1st thing I'd do is install Hard SPL V7 using the sd card method (page 116, post 1160 on the Hard SPL sticky in the upgrading section). It will change your SPL from 1.40 to 2.10 oli. Then you can use the sd card method to flash any Hermes rom/radio rom.
I find it safer to use than the PC as there are no chances of "accidents"...
Cheers...

Sadly my Sd slot is not working quite right, thats one of the things i was hoping the ROM update might help with. But would the Hard SPL V7 possibly help with the issues im having?
HERMES 100 (jasjam) Flashing ROM?
Help, I have downloaded a few different WWE 6 ROM's and I can' get my phone to flash them. I flashed Hard-spl-v7 ok. but i cant get the WWE rom to flash "WM6__Official_MS_ROM_" Phone goes into flash mode and then nothing happens.
Help
FrmPalm2WM, No, flashing any rom most likely won't help with that problem. Use some compressed air to try and clean out any dust in the sd card slot.
You might also try updating your PC's .net framework to 3.5, if you're still using XP. Just put the Hermes into bootloader and run the RUU_Wrapper.exe. It should recognise it. Also make sure that Active sync on the PC has "Allow USB Connections" unchecked.
kitcho, how you trying to flash? PC or sd card....
When you post please put as much info in as possible or we can't help.
Are the roms for the Hermes, anything downloaded from the Hermes forum SHOULD work.
If you're using the sd card method, have you put the .nbh file on an sd card formatted FAT32 and renamed to hermimg.nbh. If one of those things isn't right then it won't work. If you don't have Hard SPL V7 on your Hermes (SPL - 2.10 oli) then it won't work.
Cheers...
ok so still cant get the RUU to work. and since doing the CD unlock iit changed my radio to 1.4 and when turn the phone on it says no GSM. when i try to run RUU from the ROMs ive downloaded from other threads on here i either get cannot connect or an error with the application. my first priority is to get the radio backk up and runnng. im gettng to othe point that i wanna erase everything on it and start over. any suggestions?

HD2 Flashing via SD card and RUU -- replacing HSPL with SPL

Hey guys, let's see if you can help me.
My phone is dead, probably hardware failure. I last ran MAGLDR on it, and it was starting to tweak out. Random reboots, not booting up, etc. I flashed it back to stock about six months ago and it was still rebooting and dying but the rom did boot. Since then, for whatever reason and without actual use of the phone, the hardware problem has become MUCH worse. I can no longer boot into WinMo but can 1 in 20 tries boot into the HSPL screen/bootloader.
I need to send it back into HTC before the 28th of October and I don't want them to see Cotulla HSPL on screen. I've never overclocked or so much as used the phone for a long period of time, and I'm extremely gentle to electronics, so I don't know what the problem is.
I've been trying to flash back via this method.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc89Gh0QpIY
I don't think the rom is right for my device, so I haven't used it. I own a TMOUS HD2 and the rom this guy has is a WWE rom. I don't know if this is safe to flash. Anyway, I went ahead and downloaded the latest TMOUS stock rom which unzips as an executable. I then ran the EXE, and it unzips the RUUXXXX.nbh file into C root--at least that's where I found it. I copied the file to root of the SD (FAT32) and renamed it LEOIMG.nbh. When I boot into the bootloader tri-color screen, it finds the image but only gives me an option for flashing the OS. In the youtube vid the guy flashes all sorts of things. When I flash the OS, it doesn't replace the HSPL. Does anyone have a LEOIMG that includes the SPL for a regular TMOUS? His RUU is 266 mb and mine is 5.
Any thoughts? I've scavenged the internet and I can't find a good nbh file that works.

thats wrong, you have a corrupt download or something, whats the filename before you extracted it? Go to t-mobile.com and download again. Instead of running the .exe and finding the file in c drive, you can just change the filename extension from .exe to .zip and it will open as a zip file.
I found an RUU that is 200 something MB. It has all that he had on his. It is also a TMOUS version. The problem I am having is the thing freezes after about a fifth of the installation completes, time and time again. I believe the image is good. I think the NAND on my HD2 is permanently messed up. When I access the tricolor screen now it tells me that the update failed and to please try again, and cotulla is still printed at the top. Any thoughts? Do you think HTC checks these? I sent in a Nexus One in and they sent me a new one back, no questions asked, even though the bootloader was unlocked.
I have to send this in very soon, since it expires the 28th of Oct.
all you can do is try all the tmous roms from the 't mobile test and stock roms'' thread, but not teh first three in eth list.
if all else fails you can try flashing a non tmous stock rom, which will brick teh phone, BUT will also brick bootloader, so they wont be able to see cotulla, which is the ionly thing they are interested in.
DISCLAIMER - flashign a non tmous stock rom WILL brick your tmous. The point being it will not boot at all, completely dead, so tey cant see the spl has been hacked.
Sounds like a plan.
That didn't work. The UK rom exe freezes at 1%. Returning to the bootloader I still see Cotulla's name. Ideas?
EDIT: After the third or fourth attempted flash it now says software update failed with an exclamation point and a triangle, and the only way to access the tricolor screen is to have a LEOIMG on an sd card and hit cancel. There it says cotulla. I'm going to try to brick it more with a .51 radio just to be safe.
Thanks for your help guys. The phone pretty much bricked itself. I couldn't flash the .51 radio because it stopped turning on after a while. I sent it into HTC and they repaired it, no questions asked. Now as long as it doesn't fail again... I may get an EU version because those seem to be a little bit more reliable...
Thanks again! Thread can be closed.
