Kobefei,
Have you tested it? Does it solve the Screen flieckering problem or we still need to keep the Batery charged?
Read in the forum that the BOOTLOADER funtionality wasnt avaible in this EXEC ROM, turning a little bit more dificult to upload the original Atom ROM. Would u know if this is still happening in this "upgraded" version?
Many Thanks,

Has anyone tried this modified Rom atom exec 20060721 on ATOM.
I'm using ROM ATOM EXEC 20060614. This Rom is very good!!!
Cools !!!

They are captured from a forum and I summarized them as followings.
Possible outcomes after flashing atom with exec rom 20060721.
1) Flickering screen if you REMOVE the battery (so stay away from exec roms if you plan to remove battery once a while, or you occasionally or accidentally deplete the battery). A possible reason is real atom exec use a different screen type (or hardware revision), as it show hardware revision "B" in system information of a real atom exec (later model)
2) New July exec rom does not allow you to return to any previous rom versions, neither via usb ActiveSync update nor bootloader mode, in fact, the bootloader mode in this version does not allow you flash any rom versions, if you try to flash rom in bootloader mode, it will stop and display "pls update in OS mode and synchronised"
3) Can't make a call without using bluetooth or headset, other people can't hear me when using phone mic. Some even added that other cannot hear voice from atom via headset.
A way to do it if you still want to proceed the update .
1) Run atom 0426 rom update program, after the DSUU program extracted the files, don't click "next", go to windows/temp folder, copy those files extracted, except "diskimage_Ver.nb0" and "ExtendedRom.img", then save them somewhere else.
2) Run july exec rom update program, after the DSUU program extract the files, don't click "next," go to windows/temp folder, overwrite with the files you just saved, this will leave only the diskimage_Ver.nb0 & ExtendedRom.img files as of the july exec rom, others become atom rom files, including an older bootloader which allows you to flash back other roms.
3) Flash.
thank you

Thank You! Seems that we should wait for a oficial Atom Update....
Thanks a lot buddy
I just want to know is how to backup the original rom,
using romupdate???
OK
Really cool
I installed the Atom Exec modified update on my Atom. And i tried to install the Old Rom Upgrade of Atom, am getting Country Id or Device Id error. Can anyone help me to install my old Atom ROM upgrade.
Try a hard reset. That should solve it.
Is it impossible to restore 426 after "full install" 0712? My screen flickering much and make me dizzy. Hope someone can help... thx
hard reset can't help. restore 0426 rom impossible.
If you want to revert to the 0426 rom, from the 0721 rom. Copy the eboot file from the 0426 installation to you miniSD card and go to bootloader, when its done you can install the 0426 rom again.

I've experienced some strange behavior in this issue with my prophet (S200)
* I've tested ROM's that start to drain the battery, and some time after everything goes stable, without me applying any specific patch or registry hack
* I've tested ROM's that always drain battery
* And now I have the "Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b3" for some time, because it was the most stable ROM for me in this battery issue... until now...
Without me installing or uninstalling any application or modifying the registry, my prophet started to drain battery... I'm loosing about 30% over night... Same thing after soft reseting. I didn't make any hard reset yet.
Can any one try to make some light in this mysterious battery behavior?
We need more infos!

HI!
Did you try to activate the wifi??
Because for me, I think that trying to activate wifi seems to be the draining battery problem.
I've got the fantastic mobiz v2.04b4 and everything is just fine, stable, speedy, ... BUT if I try to activate the wifi, sometimes it works, sometimes not. When it doesn't work, the battery is draining very fast, so I think the unit is trying to activate the wifi at all moments...
next is ... some roms have power on IR ... use power too ... please read all entry in the threads from your rom ... i think they have a issue for you!
My pda is dopod 830 ,Hao to use wifi?
I am a chinese ,
Help me !thanks!!!!!

Have you used HTC Camera ver. 4.11? That is the problem! For some time I had the same problem, but searching the forum solved it! After removing that aplication, everything is back to normal. Hope that helps.
Battery drain is almost alway because of an installed software.... many software install a shortcut to the startup folder and are runing all the them.... othere programs and some dll just load and don't fully onload when closing and continu to use battery.... so there are lots of causes for battery drain just try to not install all programs at once and that way it's posible to see which programs are causing problems

Can you still get the bootloader?
If you can boot it up to the boot loader. you can plug into your computer and flash another rom. I had the same problem a week ago. now my atom is working again with Homers WM6 rom
I am very confused and sad right now
Basically the Atom was bought over the internet
with the seller advertising it as Atom Exec
and that is why I installed Atom Exec modified ROM.
Now he has e-mailed me saying that he actually
sold me an Atom.
Now I am getting massive problems, my Atom now
has an Atom Exec ROM and the screen cannot display
photos properly and it almost seems as if it is running
on 256 Colours. I am also getting massive screen flickering
although I have not installed any CPU increaser or anything.
When I try to upgrade the ROM using DSUU (the way I installed
Atom EXEC) it tells me that the Device ID or Country is wrong.
I have THOROUGHLY read the Wiki and the forum and tried
a Bootloader mode but when I put the eboot in my MiniSD and
go into bootloader it instantly says download complete and
when I try to upgrade it it does not work telling me to do it on
OS first.
I am not even sure if this community is alive or dead
I am just very confused since I am still a student and
I've spend all my pocket money buying this phone...
If someone IS out there, please give me a hand!
there is a solution...try searching the forum manually sometimes search doesn't help
i know i saw some threads about people flashing wrong roms
or if you want send him the phone back and request money because you bought it as an exec which is more expensive then atom...well he could make it as it happened accidently, but it might be a trick to sell the phone for more money
first of all thanks for replying.
I have managed to search and find
some stuff about wrong ROM flashing and
currently I am reinstalling an Atom ROM
over my existing ROM... hope this will solve
all the '256 colour' and flickering problems..
Again, thank you for helping me
I will post the results ASAP.
You can go through this.

follow this simple steps:
1. download original ROM from o2/MWG website
2. flash the unit with the original ROM.
your unit should be restored.
Execute any Atom rom, goto Win/Temp<-PC, copy EBOOT.nb0 and save it somewhere.
Execute the Atom Exec rom you currently have installed and replace EBOOT.nb0.
Once finished you will then be able to flash back to Atom rom via bootloader.
My O2 Atom Life got a problem "automatically turn off it self when low battery" and if I try to turn on , it will shut down again while booting Windows ( Windows - Splash Screen )
By this case , people say it was cause of Battery and need to change a new battery to solve the problem.
So, I brought a new battery , but the problem still left ...
later I once had changed my SIM CARD to my other mobile . After , I tried to turn on my O2 atom life and it was turn on "completely" without shutting down while booting Windows. Also the "automatically turn off it self when low battery" is not occur when I am not insert SIM CARD
So , in conclude , No any problem occur when I'm not insert SIM CARD
Would anyone please tell me What the cause of this? ... Hardware of Software or how can I fix it?
- Thank you very much for every answer -

You mean the problem was fixed when you inserted a different SIM card?...that's strange...have you tried reflashing your phone and tried using the same "bad" SIM?

No reset below 70% energy
I have the same problem. Thanks to your discovery i am sure that it is a bug in the radio firmware. Seems that there are different radios ,because not all users of this device have that problem. For me, if i have to do a reset, for installing software or so, i switch the device into flight mode, and then i can do a reset even at 20% of energy !!! If the device hangs for some reason, try to reach the Comm-manager through the hardware-button "Start-Menu" to switch the phone off. If that doesn´t work, remove the SIM-card, restart your device, switch to flight mode (works without SIM-card inside) and then insert the card again. This last solution is not very comfortable, but in case of emergency it is rather useful.
My radio-firmware-number is AL1_KLNC2340_080121_RS001
Hopefully someone will write a new radio firmware without that lousy bug and tell us how to update our beloved AL.
Greetings from Germany

If the problem is radio firmware you may have to flash your AL with an official ROM at O2 site. Have your AL flashed, so that you can also flash it with WM6.5. in case you want it.

I guess Atom Life is an extremely poorly built phone.
The reason of rebooting is the phone drawing too much power and it shuts down.
Without sim card, the 3G / mobile function will certainly draw up lots of power.

Maybe the phone function draws a lot of energy. But after rebooting the battery has lost around 2 or 3% of energy. I think this is normal and not booting below 70% must have other reasons, for example wrong recognition of the battery status, and that must be (i think so) a false parameter in the radio firmware (or in the startup sequence of the ROM?).

due to the bad battery and freezing of the phone, I have given up the atom life and get myself a touch HD. I do know that some of the revision of atom life would be better..
same problem here
but with atom exec

You should've upgraded your device's radio into AL1_KLNC2340_080121_RS001 before flashing, mate.
i did hardreset for my atom life, or maybe change your battery with the new one and than do hardreset...good luck...
