Himalaya Upgraded, But got some problem need help.

Hi all,
After upgrade, got some issues as below,
1. No internal memory show in <File Explorer> or <Memory> in the setting.
2. No ExtROM show in the <Device Information>
3. No <Auto Config> for GPRS setting.
4. Tried few softwares, but can't work as b4. Eg: Monster Chinese,CE-Star....
5. Camera function abnormal.
These are what i faced after flashing WM2K5, please share if anyone also hving problem.
Thanks!
p/s:i was download from forum.xda-developers.com .
There were only 2 stages during upgrading, without external rom,and radio upgrade. Also, no additional setup step after hard reset like WM2003.
It's that normal?
My XDA2 ROM is 1.60.00WWE
Radio 1.08.00
Protocol 1337.18
ExtROM 1.60.44
Thank you for reading. I really a starter in PPC.And i need help on this.

English Cingular 8525 ROM update available: v1.30 radio 1.11

Here is a new rom from the still unreleased Cingular 8525: HTC Hermes (HERM100) branded from U.S. Operator Cingular.
ROM Version: 1.30.502.1
ROM Date: 08/21/06
Radio: 1.11.00.00
Protocol: 32.47.7018.00H
As always, download link on the wiki upgrading page:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
If you have questions be sure to read the Hermes wiki first, specially the Upgrading FAQs.
Notes on this ROM:
* Cingular 8525 doesn't have front camera, you'll need to install cab files from other ExtROM to enable video calling (I used TyTN ExtROM on mine).
* Left button is mapped to push-to-talk application still unavailable on the rom, so it is unuseful. You can map it to any other APP using 3rd party software to remap hardware buttons.
Enjoy
if i upgrade to the cingular 8525 rom, will my tytn still be unlocked? or will it be locked to cingular?
It will still be unlocked. The network lock doesn't depend on the rom you're using.
Guys
Any ideas as to who/what website released this ROM?

OS 5.1.195 (Build 14955.2.3.0), so it's AKU 2.3 as all the other available ROMs until now.
i just installed the cingular 8525 rom! and now U CANT DO A LOCK IN ON GSM OR WCDMA MODE! (that menu been removed!)
i going back to the Imate rom!
Trying it now, thanks for the link! It also seems that the MMS limit is increased to 600K!

I am on the cingular rom, and my menu exists. Go to:
Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Band -> Select your network type. The options are Auto, GSM and WCDMA.
If you don't have it by default probably it's on the ExtROM, as I said I installed the ExtROM from TyTN, try it.

the "Band" tap/menu is missing. probably it' on the ExtRom from Tytn. how do i install the Tytn ExtRom? do u mind tell me? or u rather me search the FAQ?
Any comments as to the stability of this ROM on a TyTN?
Do we know what the different files in the EXT_ROM are for?

1) hard reset
2) do the usual alignment stuff, copy-paste, etc...
3) soft-reset before it starts installing the cingular ExtROM (customizations), you have 3 seconds
4) Unhide your extrom (you can also use fit4cat hermes tweaker for this)
5) Extract the contents of TyTN ExtROM to a folder in your miniSD card.
6) click on the CABs files you want to install, this is what I installed on mine:
From TyTN's ExtROM (on SD):
MT_Shortcut-MMS-Hermes.CAB
MP_mHub_060630.CAB
MT_PC_Hermes_Qtek_WWE_060621.CAB
P_Generic_UI.CAB
PP_3-AP-Patch.CAB
PP_ace-certs.CAB
VT_Engine_23818_ext.CAB
From Cingular's ExtROM (unhided):
MT_Shortcut-MMS-Hermes.CAB
T_mm1lib_DLL.CAB
MMS disapeared and I had to install the CAB 3 times, i used both from TyTN and from Cingular, then setup a default account settings and sent an MMS and received another (I sent it to myself from another mobile phone) and after that it stayed and no more problems with MMS.
I also installed the TyTN green theme (.tsk) because I like how it looks
Hope that helps.
Does the Cingular ROM or EXT_ROM contain the Cyberon VoiceDialer?
(I hope not!)
Yes, it's on the ROM but it's not mapped to any hardware button.
interesting.. BAND selection tab (GSM/UMTS/AUTO) is present in the ROM if Cingular extended ROM is not installed. it is being removed during Extended ROM installation procedure. more over, none of this Cingular CAB files are responsible for removing BAND selection (GSM/UMTS/AUTO) tab.
I have skipped Extened ROM installation, verified that BAND selection (GSM/UMTS/AUTO) band selector is still present and then installed all Cingular extended ROM cab files one by one. supprisingly enough - band selector is still there. there must be some other invisible configuration file in the extended rom. gprs connection is not auto configured either.
@superduper: probably you need to soft reset for the changes made by cab files to take effect. If you want to know which cab file disables it you have to install one, soft-reset, install another one, soft-reset and so on...
never mind
here is. i have selected the line in registry that needs to be changed to:

UPDATE: phone settings.reg file is attache to this message. one needs simply import this file into device registry. no soft reset is required.
P.S. It would be goos if fit4cat will add this feature to his hermes tweaker.
Great finding
Guys, is Cing Video now activated and available as an option?
Thanks.
Is it me or does the ExtROM Unlocker only unhide the Extended ROM on this build - leaving it still read-only / protected?
I tried with fit4cat and the Hermes MountExtROM.cab but no luck modifing contents.

SX56 Ringtone Changing

Hi I am having a problem using ringtones that I downloaded from the microsoft website (the free ringtone packages). I tried following the instructions (connecting the phone to ActiveSync dragging the .wma files over to /Windows/Rings/) I can see the files using file commander but in Add a Ringtone it won't show up and in the phone settings it doesn't show up either. Also I looked at one of the ringtones in the drop-down list if Add Ring Tone (RecEnd.wav) and I tried searching for it on the computer in My Windows Mobile Based device and I couldn't find the file anywhere on the phone! There might be like a hidden folder that I can't see or something where I'm supposed to put it. Anyways if you have any ideas please help me!! I don't want to be stuck with using the standard ringtones. Here's my phone info if it helps:

make them into wav with cdex == free program
or upgrade your rom

SOLVED: Blackberry Connect with Custom Cooked ROMS

Hi All.
Its been a while since my last post on using BlackBerry Connect and the last time I posted the latest software I'd found 4.0.0.97 then NetrunnerAT informed me that you couldn't use it on a Non-Standard Operator Rom?
So - I've been using a Kaiser for a while - wanted to use some of the great looking Roms but with BlackBerry enabled and found that they had the same problem until I came across the following a couple of weeks ago and only today had the time to re-flash my DUAL with Mary's Rom and to my delight applied the fix and it works like a charm!
So here's a slight Tweak from the original post (link below and HUGE thanks to member elec.two who worked it out!!!)
First - Install Blacberry Connect software as usual and set up using desktop software - then:
1. Hard Reset (set up initial settings, connect to provider, its a total of two reboots iirc)
2. Change registry setting (HKLM\System\Versions Aku set to .0.4.2)
3. Soft Reset
4. Change Device ID to any value (Settings->System->About->Device ID)
5. Soft Reset
ORIGINAL POST: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1957699&highlight=bbconnect+aku#post1957699
Hope you all find this a useful as I did......
P.S. Whats currently the best/latest WM6.1 ROM to use?
Please write what OS Version you use! Only AKU Value change work for some OS Builds, not for all!!!
If a PIN is pending or not, its a combination of "Device ID" "OS Build" "OS AKU" some times used Cell Provider too.
With WM6.1 change OS build and number OS Aku very easy..Just patch in reg and dsm
As Tom implies - in WM6.1 AKU Change and Device ID Tweak work as a fix. I've applied now on both Tom's Rom and on Mary Rom and both are working fine. Tweak is applied as per instructions using RegEdit.
I have the US version Touch Dual that I purchased from Best Buy. The ROM is stock ROM that came with it. I am unable to get BB Connect working on it. The BB Connect version I am using is 4.0.0.97.
Steps I have taken are:
1. Hard reset
2. Go through usual startup
3. Connect via Activesync and set up partnership
4. Use CERegedit and modify the AKU to 0.4.2
5. Soft reset
6. Change connection settings so 3G is off
7. Change Devie ID (both device name and description)
8. Test that I can connect to the internet (works)
9. Soft reset
10. Install BB Connect 4.0.0.97 CAB file from microSD card
11. Go thru BB Connect set up
12. BB Connect reboots the device
Below are the software settings on my device.
BB Connect Identity tab:
PIN: Pending
IP address: No Connection
BB Connect About tab:
Blackberry Version: 4.0.0.97
Transport Version: 4.0.0.95
Blackberry Enterprise Server Version: (this field was blank)
System Version: 252.221.245.236
Device Type: HTC-Neon
BB Connect Options tab:
Click on details and i see ia have an IP address
WM Device Information Version tab:
ROM Version: 2.21.422.04
ROM Date: 05/06/08
Radio Version: 1.65.20.19
Protocol Version: 25.86.40.04W
WM Device Information Identity tab:
Model No: NEON300
Platform: PocketPC
WM About Version tab:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.19209 (Build 19209.0.4.2) {the build prior to regedit was 19209.1.0.2}
I would appreciate any guidance on how to get the BB Connect working.
I have the same situation on a HTC P3470 / Pharos with Toms WM 6.1 and I'm also very interested how to get this fixed.

SoftMaker Office in AP 4.0

I installed SoftMaker Office in AP 4.0. When I try to run it, I get an error screen asking to send crash information to Microsoft. It worked fine in the original X7501 ROM, so I'm not sure what's up.
Is anyone else using this product? If so, is there a fix or workaround for this crash?
Thanks in advance!

no error with Softmaker Office
HI
i am using Softmaker Office 2008 with x7501. Also AP 4.0 Platinium and radio 1.5.0
There are absolutely no errors with this software.
Which version of Softmaker that u are using (I tested Softmaker 2006 also, without errors)
Try to change your VGA mode (I have no errors with even 96,128 or 196 dpi)
enjoy
Thanks for the info
I'm using the new update (Office 2008 with the 494 service pack) and radio 1.58. I see you're using radio 1.57. Wonder if that could be the difference?
I'll reflash the ROM today to get a fresh start and install SoftMaker first, then the other stuff I added (like PocketInformant, Resco Radio, and so on) to see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the reply!

As u said. I tried to update to Radio 1.58.
There are still no problem here.
Tried Clearing Memory and Re-Installing
Thanks for the test!
I did a "Clear Storage" function and started again.
I tried to install SoftMaker and as soon as the setup tried to connect to the X7501, I got an error message that said "Invalid CPU = 0".
I'll send this to SoftMaker and see if they've seen this message before.....

Do be advised to install Softmaker - at least for the older Planmaker versions - you had to be in PORTRAIT mode as the installer doesn't like the Advantages landscape mode for some reason
FWIW, i am using Softmaker Office 2008 with X7501 with AP 4.0 Platinum and radio 1.5.8...works fine for me...installed in landscape mode...
