This thread just to try to give a reference to MBW-150 (and similar products) owners using the following applications to get notifications from their watch:

I would like to focus on battery drain problem on the watch which apparently is caused by the X7500 bluetooth stack on the new WM6 system.
While with most of WM6 phones the two applications grant a watch's battery life which is higher than 1 week, it seems that with WM6 X7500 can't beat 12 hours impairing the use (at least for someone).
The problem seems not to be tight to anything but to the stack (headset/ headphone independent)
I'd like to expand/correct the following list I collected thanks to previous/various posting and personal experience also to include the new and very promising released ROM and hopefully find an MBW friendly stack.
Also an indication from the cookers themselves stating the stack on which their ROM is based would be very helpful to let us raise the awareness.
To have the picture (yet if it should not be the problem) also RADIO version should be interesting.
WM6 ITA ROM: 2.21.408.1 + RADIO: 1.50.00.00 (max 11h)
WM6 ITA ROM: 2.21.408.1 + RADIO: 1.57.00.00 (max 13h)
AP touch, RADIOS 1.38, 1.50, 1,57 (less than 13h and problems with SE headset)
AP 3
WM6.1 UltraVanilla from Irus ROM: 2.35.110.2 + RADIO: 1.57.00.00 (max 13h)
WM6.1 MichyPrima 1.60F RADIO 1.57 (max 13h)
MichyPrima 5.1 - SPL 1.2 and SPL 3.5 (reported by madbird)
WM6.5 MichyPrima Multilang R1 Clean Edition (reported by gtm55)
WM5 WWE ROM 1.25.405.2 + RADIO 1.38 (14 days!)
AP 4.0 reported to last for days with RADIO 1.57
AP 5.0 OK
WM6.1 Taxist Ultra Lite ROM (athe_wwe_4.as.tx_wm6.1_b19949.1.2.0) reported more than one week (gtm55)
WM6.1 Taxist Ultra Lite (SPL 1.2 from Irus) registered on com:9 (14 days!)
WM6.1 Irus 0MB pagepool (latest loopfixed) based on Sogarth ROM, up to now more than 24h & full bar (my fav! EVERYTHING working! Apart from MMS not included)
..
Apart from the WM5 ROM it seems that ROM based on the 7510 ROM do not have the drain issue!
Cooker please consider it in cooking new ROMs!
AP touch, radios 1.38, 1.50, 1,57 Battery last around 12Hours and give me problems with My SE headset
AP4 radio 1.57 battery last a lot ( no bother to time it)no problems with my headset or disconnections.

Thanks PBL1,
you confirm that AP4 is OK regarding the watch.
Any different experience with AP4?
Any ROM based on the same BT stack of AP4?
Updated.
Anyone who whants to share his expericence on the latest Mychiprima, Sogarth's or Irus's ROMs?
I tried few irus/taxist/sorgaths/my own roms and each one that I tried tops 13h. I'm using now latest radio 1.58 without effect

So the last hope stands with AP4.
Any ROM with same stack from AP4?
Any cooker who wants to try with AP4 bt stack on his new release?
latest taxist ultra lite is ok: 7 days battery life both mbw-100 and mbw-150 watches
michy uses same bt stack as irus so: 10 h battery life
I mostly used newest taxist ultra lite rom but 13h is still my best time, MBW150.
Do you use some specific configuration - COM port / etc ?
Any headset attached to phone with watch?

rom- athe_wwe_4.as.tx_wm6.1_b19949.1.2.0
If I remember correctly, AP4 team were having trouble with bluetooth while building the rom, whatever they did to solve the problems did the trick at least for my and my mb150.
my watch can connect at port 9 and port 0, I use port 0 because when I set the bluetooth communication as btwatch users probably know Athena report error and you just ignore the message ......etc, all explained in installation procedures anyway, but in port 0 when Athena ask for the bluetooth password second time, I just input it and there it goes( no error message second time), it doesn't seem to be any difference in functionality either port, but in port 0 installation feels just as it should be.
Anyway my Athena is dead so I'm looking for either a replacement or a better one, very frustrating because HTC only did manage to produce the 7510 after what more than a year from the original Athena?, and on new devices the iTOY with the apple thing goes at silly prices at ebay and the rest of the new bunch does not seem to be any better than our dear old Athena, perhaps the omnia does the trick Well see
Regards
Thanks for all of the report.
Any other experience about Sogarth, I'm courious so yet if reported to be short on batteries it'll be my next try then I'll report.
If no luck with it I thing I'll go for Taxist Ultra Lite 1.2

Updated together with latest personal testing.
Any positive experience with Sogarth ROMs?
... up to now my experience is bad as I had customization loop (with spl 1.2) and no netcf program was able to launch (included smartwatch!)
I finally resolved issue with watch - using multiple days and still shows full battery charge
1) master reset the watch
2) pair watch from smartwatch software
3) select COM9 and register COM port
4) soft reset
works great using latest taxist ultra lite ROM SPL 3.5

Good to hear!
Hi Karmarok
Just one correction in post 1 , I never posted short battery in taxista rom I never tried, the honour goes to miletb, since that now its corrected I think Taxista rom can be added to the list of MBW friendly roms and if no body reports otherwise, also AP4.
Well that's something, two roms is better than none, and since I now have back a Athena I may try taxistas for a change either is back to AP4, it was very good in my old Athena.
lol im dog tired, hope i dont mess it flashing and unlocking.

Thanks for the correction PBL1! I messed up the reports!
I would suggest to try latest Irus/Sogarth room 0 mb with fixed loop!
For me is a winner!
Video call enabled
GPS photo working
Works with voice command and media player (fixed)
fast
device on on hardware keyboard attaching
no hiss on ad2p streaming (apart in the beginning)
gsen works
no headset disconnections on calls (while mbw disconnects and reconnects randomly on calls)
GREAT!

I've been off the forum for a long while.
Could somebody update me on where we stand on ROM/Operator ROM versions and is it yet possible to install a REAL Bluetooth stack (i.e. one that supports a handsfree profile and passes car microphone into the XDA for voice recognition).
I have an XDA2 with an identity crisis (had a sexchange and now masquerades as an M1000 on Orange).
BTW I currently use a T610 with my Parrot car kit. What an outstanding implementation of Bluetooth services!! XDA developers could do worse than write a T610 emulator ....
The current rom version is:
OS 1.72.00WWE
Radio 1.17.00
ExtROM:
O2 1.72.181 / 1.72.187 (UK based, difference: one is with other without Blackberry)
T-Mobile 1.72.190 (NL based)
iMate 1.72.126
QTek 1.72.601
I would go for the O2 or T-Mobile ones, but: There are many customisations available (like my own 1.72.903 T-Mobile based) with many extras that might suit your wishes.
Read the sticky post from dcs to fix & prevent upgrade errors to avaoi Identity crises.
The current ExtROM version of the imate is 1.72.800.
How (and why..) can I upgrade the Radio version to 1.17 (my current is 1.14.
@amir : you could replace radio.nbf from your upgrade with another 1.17 out of some recent update.
Just watch the country code.
and do not try to update radio alone. just reupdate with existing OS rom, new radio rom and existing EXtrom
About the why I'm not so sure. I don't recall the benefits of 1.17 against 1.14. maybe you could do a search.
Only rom part that can be left out with a rom update is the ExtROM.
You MUST upgrade Radio & OS at the same time as a minimum.
The ExtROM can also be updated via the ExtRom Tools (which is less dangerous than flashing.
Have loaded all the latest updates available but original BT problems still remain. I have a Nokia CK-1W car kit which has always refused to work though I did get some success using the Pocket Bluetools stack ( incoming calls only ). Don't know of any other solutions for BT right now ???
Well I have the T-Mobile 1.72 ROM already (with Orange 1.66 ExtROM) and the Bluetooth is still rubbish.
Oh well, one day!!
PS Pocket PC tools looked promising for a while but I couldn't get it to work with Parrot. Have there been any updates since April?
Cheer
BT is working just fine (thanks god ).
I am pairing daily with GPS receiver & BT headset, no problems at all.
I just upgrded my ExtROM, with official update from iMate, I think I'll skip updating the radio, since I see no known reason for that.
BTW, I just heard a rumor saying ROM 1.77 for the iMate, will on the air within 1-2 weeks.
The update contains radio 1.17
Get the 2.02.t1WWE Windows 2003SE upgrade which is available on this site from DCS.
I recently upgraded my device and it now works with my Nokia CARK-1W bluetooth car kit. I have tried every upgrade available up until this one for a fix without any joy so I am rather please with the results !!
Incidentally, performace on my XDAII has improved over the last ROM.
Hey all. I have recently downgraded to qtek 1.72 rom to see if it works with radio 1.18, which works fine. Now here is the kicker. When I upgraded back to 2.02 with its headset problems for blueooth, ie.. the Today screen plugin disappearing and the dual mic and speaker problems does not seem to be there now. When I upgraded back to 2.02 I decided to keep the original 1.72 extended rom so I just added the ms_.nbf file to the upgrade changing it with nbftool of course and then upgraded. I have to say this leads me to beleive that thr problem does not lie in the wm2003se rom but it is a conflict with a newer version of software that has been posted within the extended rom upgrades. I have tested this over and over without any problems. I have downgraded and reupgraded to 2.02t with the same results on 4 different tests and it seems to work flawless. I am running older versions of callerid, camera, and mms. But I haven't had the first problem as of yet. Second test was the today screen plugin, after opening and closing five seperate applications then opening 7 at one time. Same results the today screen plug in comes right back and has not disappeared once. My third test was to bond my Plantronics 2500 headset with it. Works like a charm. No mic problems or dualing speakers at the same time. My rom is:
ROM Version: 2.02.t1 WWE
Rom Date: 05/17/04
Radio Version: 1.18.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtRom version: 1.72.752
My extended rom is the default that comes with Qtek 2020 1.72 latest rom. Nothing else added. I hope this helps some of you, and yes even Activesync works even though I do not use it.
Here is another new ROM from the still unreleased Cingular 8525: HTC Hermes (HERM100) branded from U.S. Operator Cingular.
ROM Version: 1.31.502.1
ROM Date: 08/30/06
Radio: 1.13.00.00
Protocol: 32.49.7018.00H
OS build: 14989.2.6.0 (AKU 2.6)
As always, download link on the wiki upgrading page:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
If you have questions be sure to read the Hermes wiki first, specially the Upgrading FAQs.
Notes on this ROM:
* See the thread on the previous Cingular ROM (v1.30) for upgrading issues, such as enabling video calls, band selection tab, MMS, ExtROM customizations, etc...
Enjoy
WARNING: This ROM has bootloader version 1.06 where only RUU updates specifying the same CID as your device has will be permitted to run. You will need to DOWNGRADE to a ROM matching your CID with bootloader 1.04 to be able to bypass the vendorID check again.
UPDATE: New ROM v1.34
I think you're releasing this one just to terrorize everyone that has just jumped through hoops over the past few days with the last ROM...
Firstly, Thank you.
Second. Is a hard reset necessary if you're already on the cingular rom?
yes... you have to flash it again, so it will be in default settings as after a hard reset.
the OS version is incorrect on the wiki! on wiki, it shows OS version 14955.2.3.0, i just flashed to the latest cingular RON, it showing OS version 14989.2.6.0
ooopps... copy paste problems
Thanks for the correction, and yes, this is an AKU 2.6 ROM
sorry for jumping the gun. i already fixed it on wiki. os version and protocol version been updated..
aku 2.6 .... damn!
... so many roms... so little time...
My imagination or are contact ringtones missing from this build? Were present in the i-mate ROM. Pof didn't give me enough time to check out the 1st Cingular ROM ;-)
Cheers
I'm going for this one I think. If HTC releases their TyTN specific ROM update tomorrow, you'll have me and the deity Murphy to thank.....
edits as the upgrade progresses:
08:21 AM CDT
Upgrade start time. First impression... boy is this ever slow. I guess they're not kidding when they say "Remember, the operation will take about 25 minutes". This is significantly slower than my 8125 flash process was.
08:30 AM CDT
22% complete. Let's see, a little math shows a 45 minute flash time if the same rate progresses. I've turned off my screen saver and am closing all unused apps on my desktop. Fortunately, the battery on my TyTN was fully charged before I started...
08:35 AM CDT
25% complete. 25 minutes is looking more like an hour at this rate...
08:42 AM CDT
Flash rate just jumped up I'm now at 61% complete.... Patience is the buzzword to remember when flashing TyTNs it would seem.
08:44AM CDT
Flash complete. 23 minutes elapsed time. The warning is correct! I just heard the Initial setup chime on my TyTN
Now its off to extrom customization. I've pre-loaded the most current TyTN Extrom on my sd card so I'll be cancelling out of Cingular's default startup and loading this instead...
08:47AM CDT
Nice little Cingular splash screen with a flaming 3G ball of fire on it...
anyone using this rom yet? What do you think
As Pof points out at the beginning of this thread, the AKU2.6 version of the Cingular ROM inherits the same troublesome limitatations as this one AKU2.3:
* Extended-ROM is locked from writing. You can read, but not write;
* Video camera must be added 'manually' using alternative extended ROM (e.g., HTC 1.06)
* Button 5 (press and hold) functions have been locked to PTT (push-to-talk is not working in this ROM version)
There are no existing work-arounds to:
- unlocking the extended ROM, so you have 10mb less program storage space with this ROM;
- map button five (PTT is hard-coded).
Following pof's earlier post instructing how to manually install the HTC ROM, you will end up with the HTC "Green" dialer and CommManager.
CommManager can be replaced with the blue one (search threads for download). Dialer can be replaced with several different dialers (see wiki).
Cheers

In other HTC devices the upgrade image was decrypted by the upgrade software and sent unencrypted to the device. With the Hermes, HTC has changed this and the upgrade image is sent encrypted to the device. Now the Hermes has to take the encrypted data sent by the upgrade utility and decrypt it before actually flashing it. That's why it takes more time.

I use to use WM5 and WM6 - it is my opinion only: wm6 is massaged version of WM5. If you need stability and andvance networking - I would use wm5; if you want to try "new" OS and you have a will of dealling with something "not working" - WM6. Said that, I see no big advantage of WM6 exept cosmetics for the average user (but if your life is latest and greates - go for it).
Now, bluetooth or Wifi were working fine for me in WM5 and WM6 (G4 unit). It is mostly related to the radio rom and drivers build in OS.
I'm a newbie here and considering the purchase of a used X7500 with WM6.0. The current owner has a problem with the bluetooth not functioning. I'm wondering if this might be a common problem with 6.0 and if the new cooked 6.1 (4 – if that’s the latest rom version) might solve such an issue?
Also, would someone mind directing me to the page that has the most popular /cleanest 6.1 rom? I’m tearing my hair out trying to figure out which is the safest/best one to use. I realize that such questions have been asked before, but it's still a big job trying to sift through all the possibilities. Perhaps a sticky including an on-going tally chart with download frequencies or something, together with tags that users could add about what issues their hoping to overcome with the ROM download?? Just a suggestion...
Peter (Bamse1)
Hard to say....
LATEST usually is better, generally speaking we have to choose FIRST the SPL
Unlocked AThena means SPL 1.2. The newest ATHENA (X7510) needs more ROM space so AP4 Team developed the AP4 ROM TOGETHER with a tool to increase the ROM space, and the SPL becames SPL 3.5.
WARNING: you can flash ONLY SPL compatible ROMs, this means NO ORIGINAL ROM is SPL 3.5 . You have to revert it back to 1.2 to flash any official rom
We have a sticky thread here with the ROM links, ALL WM6 or 6.1
Latest Micky's (5.1, 6.1) are the best (IMHO) 6.1 latest is WM6.1, stable build with manila 2d and newest Internet Explorer , little less stable than 5.1, rock solid. I use SPL 3.5, I like to have ALL the utility needed into the ROM.
You can choose sogarth base AND sogarth kitchen to do-it-yourself or IRUS lite-vanilla ROM (the AP4 vanilla)
I will suggest this roadmap:
Start with IRUS spl 1.2, then
Flash AP4, latest AP team release an you will have the SPL 3.5 too
Then check sogarth, or Irus Vanilla-Lite release
Michy 5.1 or 6.1 to check the manila 2d and the increased responsiveness
Wait for the next michy's release if you want really lite and newest build
Thank you for replying so quickly Sergiopi. Still, the lingo is a bit overwhelming for a newbie like me. For instance, one issue is confusing: You write that SPL 3.5 is intended for the X7510 but later on your roadmap you suggest AP4 (including SPL3.5) for the X7500. To confirm, this will not harm the X7500, correct?
If I understand half of what you say then I may 'liberate' the UNLOCKED X7500 with an OEM WM6.0 (from HTC) by
1. Flashing IRUS SPL 1.2 (No turning back now right?)
2. Then flashing AP4 (Question: is AP4 WM6.0 or 6.1?)
3. Here it gets confusing for me. If I understand correctly then "sogarth, or Irus Vanilla-Lite release Michy 5.1 or 6.1 to check the manila 2d" are all different update versions stemming from AP4?? For instance is Michy 6.1 a 'cooked' version of WM6.1, along with the rest of them?
I don't need everything tweaked to the max, just a stable and reliable system that has all the functionality the X7500 is capable of together with the basic apps... a modest aim don't you agree?
The cream on top would be to replace the stylus with TouchFLO 3D - is this possible with one of the cooked roms you mention? However, this is not really necessary - kind of gimmicky from one point of view I suppose. In fact, did I read somewhere that FLO actually slows things down?

If you have a "STOCK", SIM unlocked X7500, to flash a non official ROM you need to flash the SPL 1.2 FIRST ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316846 )
THEN you need to upgrade the radio 1.57 or 1.58, I am using 1.57 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372904
THEN you can flash the newest OS, (ALL cooked ROM are OS only, no RADIO, even if I am not sure about radio in the sogarth one, and the newest RADIO is needed by WM 6.1)
1) SPL 1.2 comes from Athena Wrapper, you can revert back but isn't easy for a newbie..
2) AP4 shoulh be WM6.1 OS check the thread Michy's are WM6.1
3) NO, IRUS vanilla comes from AP4, sogarth ? (may be they used some common base ROM) michy's aren't from AP4

Touchflo 3d isn't available for athena, Manila 2d looks like (and works like) T3D, reducing available RAM and slowing down the system
Start testing, from your requirements I think you will like Michy's 6.1 (play with T3D clone and disable it after a while ) and the announced Michy's vanilla. AP team announced some news, but it was one month ago and they are still testing...
Well this certainly helps dry up the mist! The point about the radio seems like an important addition. I'm still not clear about one point however:
2) AP4 shoulh be WM6.1 OS check the thread Michy's are WM6.1 ... 3) NO, IRUS vanilla comes from AP4, sogarth ? (maybe they used some common base ROM) michy's aren't from AP4

Again, my primary aim is to get the cleanest and most fully-functional version of WM6.1 with the least amount of steps or tweaking. Assuming that A4 is 6.1 (haven't checked yet) then why is it necessary (or preferable) to flash sogarth, or the Irus Vanilla-Lite release (of A4) AND, then, add Michy 6.1 (to check the manila 2d?) which is also 6.1? It sounds like Michy's 6.1 is the way to go (with or without the T3D clone) but I don't understand why you suggest to flash sogarth/IRUS Vanilla first? Is it to get 2D? But elsewhere you suggest that Micky 6.1 includes 2D? Finally, you also suggest adding the announced Michy's vanilla... Can I do this and bypass sogarth/Irus Vanilla-Lite? I guess I'm still not clear about the difference between A4 (sogarth/irus vanilla) and Michy's work, and how or why these apparently need/should coexist on the STOCK Athena/Advantage X7500 (ie. NOT Ameo/simlocked)?
There is another question about adding apps once the cooked ROM 6.1 has been installed. Somewhere I read that these ROMs don't allow new apps, so you need to get it right the first time or redo the entire process. Is this correct? I suppose the cooks have taken this into account with their ROMs, which is perhaps one reason behind their multiplicity?!
I appreciate your patience! This is all new stuff and I'm still trying to get my head around it.
I also wish to add a private message quote from Brau0303 on the topic that helps nuance the discussion:
We were all noobes at some point so no worries. As to the best rom (my friend that is purely subjective, I was fond of the AP Teams rom and the work done by MichyPrima, you will find two main flavors of rom for the Athena, roms intended for the normal 1.2x SPL and those intended for the 3.xx SPL the custom SPL/unlocker is required for any non factory rom flashing and the main difference between 1.2x & 3.xx SPL is 1.2x retains the factory rom flash partition, 3.xx re-partitions the rom flash area to allow for larger roms like AP-4 and above. you must be careful and please read all the documentation prior to flashing or you could damage your Athena.

This leads me to a new question: Is there any value in retaining the factory rom partition or is it a no-brainer to reclaim the space with a 3.X partition? In other words, is it possible to have WM6.1 with the factory partition in place, e.g. in case one may want to reset the device to a factory setting for resale purposes?

Well this certainly helps dry up the mist! The point about the radio seems like an important addition. I'm still not clear about one point however:

VANILLA-LITE SPL 1.2 means the cleanest, and no needs for SPL 3.5, BUT is an OLD WM6.1 Build. It means NO newest Internet Explorer, NO enhanced contact/messaging, NO rotation sensor enabled and some other bugs
SPL 3.5 means more complete ROM (more space, more built-in utilities) and a LATEST OS Build is commonly better
ALL ROMs allow the installation of new applications (may be you mean UPDATED version of the built-in applications isnt allowed, but a good chef knows the problem and use some tricks)
SPL 3.5 is a two way road, you can go back. My suggestion was... YOU choose the best ROM, and start testing (and stop talking ) flash some ROM and you will have more experience (and less questions )
Let me also add Lakeman's message reply:
I like michys roms and usually play with his latest creations. michy4.1 is reportably the most stable. there is a thread by sergiopi with links to all the roms at the top of the winmobile6 forum and i would recommend reading the beginers guide I wrote as well

Also, thanks for your consistent replies sergiopi. One comment: I don't own a X7500 yet so unfortunately I can' t begin experimenting. In fact, I want to avoid experimenting by writing and talking on this forum! Isn't that the smart thing to do anyway, rather than brick a device?
Here is a recent follow-up from Brau0303. I asked him to clarify what the SPL is:
Yes much of this can be overwhelming, SPL is not actually directly part of the device OS (think of it more as a bios type component) and you have to have the special versions of the SPL to unlock the ability to flash custom roms) I think the upgrade to 6.1 is worth it. many of the basic roms will work on a spl 1.20 olinex device, but the more feature rich roms that are based on the x7510 version require the 3.xx spl because it re-partitions the flash rom space. hope this helps.

Hi Brau0303, I've taken the liberty to post your reply on the public thread. I hope you don't mind. In the process I came up with a new question: is there any value in retaining the factory rom partition or is it a no-brainer to reclaim the space with a 3.X partition? In other words, is it possible to have WM6.1 with the factory partition in place, e.g. in case one may want to reset the device to a factory setting for resale purposes?

Response from Brau0303:
Well if you go the way of spl 3.x you can only flash roms intended for 3.x, cmonex created a utility that allows you to go back to the spl 1.2x and standard factory settings/partition. I can say that it does work because i used it when I sold my Athena.

have that much clear now. Thanks BR. I guess the main issue for me now is wading through all the lingo to decipher what cooks refer to when they label their ROMS (which ones go with which device/rom series). One question that is still bugging me - what is the relationship between AP4 and Michy 4/5/6? Sergiopi suggested that I flash both, but doesn't one overwrite the other? They are both ROMS correct? (As you write below, I only need one rom.)

Well as I had said the SPL is not tied directly to the rom, the special spl allows you to flash cooked roms, you can not flash them with a stock spl (only allows flashing of released factory roms) here are the main components
SPL - loading the special spl version allows you to flash cooked roms (you can install this and still run stock roms)
Radio - you can flash a radio version without having to flash any other stuff (some roms require certian radio versions)
ROM - contains the WM OS and all the others required drivers and programs and such

Checking SPL
Hi mate
I thought I would answer your pm here
You need to have the phone in your hands to do this , but from the beginners guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429013
"Check Bootloader Screen
Throughout this forum you will be referred to your SPL.
This is the Secondary Program Language and on your unadulterated ppc it will be 1.1
Olipro's original unlocker upgraded this to 1.1x but the unlocker above will change it to SPL 1.2
You can see if this has already been done by putting your phone into the Bootloader screen.
This is done by holding the camera button completely in and then pressing the reset button.
You will now see a red/green/blue and white striped screen telling you the device id and SPL version.
If you see SPL 1.2 , you are good to go to load any SPL 1.2 Rom"
further to this you may also see SPL3.5.
If you have this you can only flash SPL 3.5 roms
The bootloader screen is also where you can see what radio is installed
AP4 stands for Athena Project rom no 4
there is supposed to be AP5 in the works.
regards Michael
Hi Lakeman,
Thank you. Your post helps clear things up even more. I think I understand the progression from SPL 1.2 to 3.5 as well as the Radio upgrade. But Im still confussed when it comes to the what I think is the ROM side: AP4/5, Michy, and IRUS/vanilla... and left with 1-2 questions:
-Several have seemed suggested Michy 4/5/6 on top of or together with AP4/5 (see earlier posts). Sergiopi also mentioned a Sogarth or Irus Vanilla-Lite release. I'm just not clear about how these fit together, or if they should fit together. For instance, doesn't one rom overwrite the previous?
- Also, are AP4/5 and Michy 4/5/6 all SPL 3.5 versions? Does it matter?
I guess my main issue now is wading through all the ROM lingo and labels and how these (apparently) are used together.
