Sogarth's Base Vanilla Rom - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

I don't really feel like its that fast so i was going to just scrap the whole thing but then i was like well i'll let everyone else decide
First I just want to give a big thanks to Sogarth for this rom, without him this would not be possible so please thank him before you thank me I have made a vanilla of this rom with cab files for everything that was in the rom. **MOST CAB FILES FOUND HERE WILL NOT WORK WITH OTHER ROMS**
There is also a folder named extra that has some misc. stuff like ringtones…
What did I add?
Well I added .netcf 3.5, mortscript w/auto rotate toggle, disabled signed cert, and has about a 39 sec boot up time (not first boot)
For setting up on first boot: email accounts / connections settings / contacts with ringtones please see this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403458
Starting with:
Storage - 141.19MB
Ram – 77.77MB
Well that’s it, so have fun

irus, you are so fast and efficeint.

I'm going to test now!!!!!!
Thanks Irus and Sogarth for your works!

my next rom starts in 36 second from first splash screen...
it will be: ce os 5.2.20270 (build 5.2.20270.1.3.1)

Well, no, it wasn't that fast. And then I added a 32 MB pagepool, set my glyph cache to 128 KB (0x0020000), set my font cache, took out a few things I wasn't using, and it's amazing how much faster it works.
Yeah, the 32 MB pagepool is probably overkill; I ought to see if a 16 MB pagepool works just as well... but... it's 32 MB!
On the other hand, maybe I ought to see if a ramdisk for caching works better instead...

I think it might depend on what ramdisk you're using. The one I was thinking about is the temporary ramdisk that you need to reload on every boot - it would be nicer to have a permanent one, but a temporary one can be useful for some of the temp file caching, Internet Explorer or Opera browsing caching, etc.

Yes! This is what I like about you, Irus. Clean and empty for each installed what they like.

This ROM is got me stuck at an endless customization loop.
I'm using spl 3.5.
What should I do, flash back to my previous ROM?

I'm using spl 3.5 too.

Irus and Sogarth,
Thank both of you for this wonderful ROM. I've installed it while travelling on the road today, using my SD card, and it installed without any customization loop. Of couse, I'm on spl1.2.
Has anyone with spl1.2 got any customization loop so far? If yes, were you ever on spl3.5 ?
I downloaded the ROM directly into my device as usual without using a PC. I have 141.05 MB of storage memory and 81.43 MB of Program memory available after installation, which is slightly different from Irus' posted number. Wonder if it is because Irus has been on spl3.5 before, hence he has 3.49 MB less memory left than I have.
So far, I've only installed TomTOM7, which loaded very fast. In fact, seems faster than any other ROM. GPS fixed was also exceptionally fast.
Will continue to test and provide feedback. I can say that so far I like every bit of the concepts that goes into the making of this ROM.
Each time when I thought I already have the best ROM, Sogarth and Irus comes around and prove me wrong with even better ROM. Irus' idea of making everything a cab that we can install on our own is brilliant, and will make this ROM the most user customizable ROM ever. I'm thrilled to see things like subDisplay taken away, as I never use it ever. This should free up resources and speed up the device to the maximum extend possible. Of course, Sogarth is going to introduce RAM cache files to even better that soon, and wow, so many good stuffs are coming up from you two. Thank you both once again for this sensational master piece.

I flashed this rom under spl 3.5, and got endless roop of customization. But I was able to flash back to irus ultra lite under spl 3.5. After reading eaglesteve's finding that he succeeded in installation under spl 1.2, I used Cmonex downgrader to directly downgrade to spl 1.2 without going from AP4. After downgraded to spl 1.2, irus ultra lite rom kept loop of customization. I forcibly entered into the tri-color screen by pushing camera bottom and soft reset hole at the same time, and tried to install this Sogarth Base Vanilla Rom under spl 1.2. Now I ended up with the following statement:
Error [244]: Invalid Model ID
This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your Update Utility

Now, I can go no where, no matter I tried flash back to irus ultra lite in spl 1.2, MiChY WWE full version in spl, AP Dual 3.0 in spl 1.2, or AP4, or any rom in spl 3.5, I got the same above statement. My device is bricked. Please help.

this is not good but your device is not bricked. you need to use cmonex's model ID fix app, click on the link and start reading at post 33 read the rest of that thread to see what problems may have come up and then go back to post 33 and try to fix the model id if you need help ask here or send cmonex a pm she is really nice and will help you if you need it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387454&page=4

Just for additional information. I am using spl 1.2 and I don't have the customization issues. I use to have spl 3.5 and downgraded a while back when cmonex provided the downgrader.

Any Cingular 3125 w/ WM6.1 Std users?

All,
Any WM6.1 Std. on Cingular 3125 users here? Can someone give me their take on how well this upgrade works and how overall happy or unhappy they are with the upgrade? I am very interested in doing the upgrade, but don't want to lose features or find that usability is not reliable, or that the upgrade works but 6.1 Std is less "responsive" than WM5. I know there is a certain amount of risk, and I am pretty tech-savvy, so I am not too worried about that, but want to hear from others that are using this, whether they are really satisfied or not. Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
Frank

You wont loose features (other then the bloatware that is built in by AT&T - if you miss that, you might not want to upgrade). As for responsiveness - it is quite snappy - probably even faster then the wm5 rom you're running now (likely largely due to the removal of the bloatware)
rom
download the rom that you currently have, that way if you don't like the wm6.1 (but I can't see why you would not) you can reinstall the original.

Awesome! I freakin' hate the bloatware I have now - and I did not know how to delete it until recently. This sounds great though. THANKS!
Can I ask you another question - I noticed in your signature you are using 6.1 PRO on your 3125. I read some other posts here about PRO being really made for touchscreen devices (the 3125 is not) and STD for non-touch devices. Is that true? Is my current WM5 "STD"? I think I'd be happier with the simpler interface & closer to what I've been using (as opposed to a virtual cursor, etc.). Am I correct that this is the main difference between PRO and STD?

When you say "download the rom that you currently have" - can I download my current rom on my phone, complete with all my settings and everything? Kind of like a full backup? Or do you mean backup another copy of it from Cingular (AT&T)? If so, is there a post here that explains how? This would be awesome!

backup
Backup your current device with a backup program, I use sprite, but any that backs up all of your information is fine.
Then download the official rom for your device. If you decide you do not like your upgrade, you can install the official rom and restore it from your backup.
Both the WM6.1 Standard and Pro will work on your phone, however the Pro version was designed for a touch screen device, Erofich did an amazing job at making this unofficial rom/platform work on the 3125.
Try them both and see which you like, there is plenty of information on this forum to teach you how to use and install programs.

you are right , the pro is for touch screen with the windows logo on the top right of the screen , the std is for non touch screen. you do notice there is a pro version it is made special for this phone. you can try it out and see if you like it. i have been using clean version of 6.1 std since it came out. there is another version called NEO . you can try that too.
Thanks!

Noobie questions (sorry!) Please help!
All,
I downloaded the original Cingular/ATT Rom, just in case, and bought Sprite and backed up my settings. I downloaded SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe and ran it (from my PC, is this correct?). SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe seemed to run okay, and gave me the message "SDA Successfully unlocked, Please Reboot SDA Now!". I rebooted my phone and did not notice a change (I assume I should?) I ran the Rom update for WM6.1 Standard, which opened up a DOS-looking box that stayed there forever and did not indicate it was doing anything. After just over an hour I disconnected my phone and rebooted it, no change.
My questions:
1) Do I run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe from my PC or from the WM phone itself?
2) Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong?
3) What does CID Unlock do, and do I need it?
Just to review, I have a Cingular 3125 with WM5, and I want to go to WM6.1 Standard.
Please help! Thanks!

first, you have to unlock you CID flash it to SuperCID, so you can flash it to any rom you want.
1)SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe can only run from your PC, or you may try it in your phone..
2)following the Tutorials and can never go wrong.
3)following th first..

Actually, to set the record straight, especially for anyone else looking to do this with a Cingular 3125 (ONLY), here are the facts, as I ran into them:
1) No, you don't have to unlock the CID (SuperCID). I didn't, on a stock Cingular/AT&T 3125 and it worked fine.
2) SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe was not needed either, in fact it caused problems for me (see #3). Erofich's WM6.1 STANDARD ROM install has it's own version of this app built in and it did all the work.
3) "following the tutorials..." - sorry, and no offense, but that's BS. This site, as well as most if not all Linux sites I've seen suffer from the same "too many cooks" problem. There are sooo many people posting stuff, most with at best a half-knowledge of the required technology, that the noob is hit with a lot of crap to weed through and try. Keep in mind, this is very common with non-moderated Linux sites, and I don't mean any disresepect, but it is reality.
Example to explain #2 and #3: I read in this forum and in the Wiki's here that I needed SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe. It ran fine and dropped a couple of files on my cell. Trying to install the ROM (Erofich's fantastic WM6.1 STD) would crash every time, because it has a version of this same app built-in. I ended up removing SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe's files from my PC and my cell, resetting my cell, and running just Erofich's ROM install and voila! it all worked like a charm. My point: I had to find this out "trial and error", after MANY tries, as a noob, and it was NOT like the forums or Wiki or tutorials said it was. Lesson learned: the tutorials are not gospel.
Thanks,
Frank

Its very important to make it if you have an old bootloader version - 2.04 and older.
And btw, there are my recommendations for never flashed StarTrek devices:
1) make a SuperCID!
2) flash the latest official Cingular 3125 rom (v4.1.502.5) to your StarTrek (even if you have i-mate Smartflip, Qtek 8500, Dopod S300/710(+), Orange SPV F600 or HTC S411)
3) and after that flash an unofficial rom
A vote for RTFM

I wholeheartedly agree with Erofich. I don't know how you possibly got it to work without following Erofich's instructions to the letter - maybe the things you did had a residual effect and finally everything aligned for you.
I am glad things worked out for you but don't disparage the excellent tutorials in this forum - if you read and follow them EXACTLY, it WILL work!
Also, this site is moderated and it does get the job done if you READ READ READ.
I have the Cingular 3125 and had it loaded with the latest official rom. Like Geekzilla I was unable to go through the supercid step. It kept getting stuck & giving me errors. I just ran the upgrade to 6.1 standard and it worked great. I didn't see any reason to backup anything either because I syncronize with an exchange server so all of my contacts and calender entries just reloaded into the new version. It worked great and I recommend it.
I'll also say that it wouldn't hurt to try the pro version for a couple of weeks. It will take some getting used to but it's really fast and it has lots of additional capabilities for power users. My phone locks up when I try to use virtual pointer but I have been able to do everything just using the buttons. To be honest I can't decide which I like better as I keep alternating roms. I only had one problem when going from the pro version to the standard. The fix was to go back and reload the official rom and then reload standard.

With all due respect, I spent a few weeks reading the forums and wikis here before messing with my phone. I did not want to brick it. And just so you know, I am an IT Manager with 16+ years of computer, server, networking and infrastructure experience. I've used cooked ROMs (firmware) for Linksys and Netgear routers. While I may have been a relative noob on hacking my phone, I was not that much of a noob that I cannot follow directions and get it done.
If I said that it worked without SuperCID, then it worked without SuperCID. If you read the reply post after yours, even someone else (Ramfan) explains that this worked for him also. I am pretty sure I even read a previous post from Erofich where he states that the Cingular 3125 ROM works without it.
Anyway, bottom line, I did not mean to get all "pissy" and mean. This is a great site, and you folks have some great stuff here, especially Erofich's ROMs and the others that I am sure also rule. However, truth is, in an open forum like this, there is some great info, and some inaccurate info. It is the nature of the beast, and I was not trying to slam this site, just state a fact. If this offended you, then I apologize.

I initially tried to do the SuperCID and application unlock but I couldn't get either to work with my phone. Maybe it has to do with the initial firmware on the phone. I actually got my 3125 at the AT&T store the day that they first arrived in Richmond, VA. Maybe the later phones needed the application unlock.
I've loaded and reloaded 6 different ROM's on my phone with no trouble. I realized that I was taking a risk but it didn't really matter to me as I have a newer Pantech Duo, 3G phone with WM 6.1. However now that I'm able to use these cooked ROM's on my 3125 it's actually become my everyday phone again.
In comparison between my DUO and 3125 I don't really see much difference in data speeds (3G vs Edge) but I prefer the clamshell design of the 3125.
By the way I'm running Pampooh's 6.1 standard version right now. It's definitely the most suitable rom for this phone that I've found. However I'll be interested in trying any future 6.1 pro roms or 6.5 roms.
Need help with upgrade
Hello, I followed the instructions to upgrade my 3125 to the 6.1 ROM. However, when I run the SPL on the phone I get a quick message "searching for SD card", then the phone goes to red, green & blue stripes with text:
IPL 4.01.0001
SPL 2.04.0000
and nothing happens. Rebooting the phone gets me going again. Then I tried to run the ROMUpdateUtility on the PC and it caused the same thing to happen. The frustrating thing is that I got this working about 6 months ago but had to reset my device. Now I can't seem to get it back to 6.1.
HELP!
Sorry, but my frequent frustration with Windows Mobile eventually got to be too much. I've shelved my WM phone and bought an iPhone. Seriously, I believe it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Good luck!

Well obviously the radio isn't the cause of the problems...I'm quite sure you've seen which radios people are using in various threads, and know that 2.10, and 2.12 are the most used and work fine...and which radio you are TOLD to use in the FAQs etc...
I suggest asking in here for more help regarding SOD.
It could be related to the ROM you are using, the build you are using...
1) Load HSLP3
1) Replace your Windows rom with the Chuckydroid Rom (add http) forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734238 (note: it's called "chuckydroid", but it's WM 6.5 that's been modified and "lightened" for android, so don't be confused like I was)
2) Use radio version 2.12.50.02_2
3) insert and then wipe your memory card.
4) Load Darkstone V2.1
Then, grab a brew and enjoy using Android Froyo 100% of the time, almost problem free. (compass does not work, and a few apps do not load, almost all the good ones do, however). GPS, Wifi is excellent.
Cheers!
fix

i agree, except i would use shrubcraft 1.4c with the 2.12 radio it seemed to fix all of my sod problems! i used to get the screens of death all the time!! hope this helps !!! make sure to reformatt the sd b4 u install the files onto it! i use windows to format!!
formatting will wipe everything on my sd. i have a 16gb and 3.3gb left. is wiping necessary and will make a difference?

bottom line - ( I WOULD LIKE TO DISPEL THIS MYTH )
1. HSPL version has no bearing at all running Android builds!
2. THERE IS NO SINGLE PARTICULAR ROM BUILD (Weather light or full Winmo)
so long as the Chef mentions it is Android Friendly!
3. There is no SINGLE PARTICULAR RADIO as long as it is recommended
4. there are a lot of stable builds at present that are GOOD FOR DAILY USE!

You can back up your SD card on your PC using the USB connection. Might take a while to backup 12 gigs, though.

Same here
I did have the 2.08 radio, and I was getting SOD's like nobody's business, but as soon as I switched to 2.12, no more SODs. Haven't had a single one since.
HSPL 2
Energy ROM - Cookie's
I haven't had a singe SOD
Tmo latest stock Radio 2.10.50.26
ROM Miri 17.6 23569
Shubcraft Roms.
Never had an SOD, i get screen freezes(5 secs) once or twice per day though, but i think this is "normal".
2.12.50.02_2
Sent from HTC HD2 using XDA app.
any lite rom to cooked for the purpose of running android on hd2 will work..
u can try either
EnergyROM for android
Chuckydroid
MiriROM
so far, these 3 roms are known to work great for running android..
next u need the proper radio..
2.12.50.02.2 works for sure for me because i had my phone on it for 3 full weeks and i have not have a SOD.. so i thought to be funny yesterday and flashed 2.11..
5 mins later i got an SOD.. so pls, use 2.12.50.02.2 and see if it solves ur problem..
lastly, u NEED TO REFORMAT THE SD CARD... no qns about that..
so in all, u need to do 3 things..
1) get a lite rom cooked to run android
2) flash 2.12.50.02.2
3) format ur sd card
do all of these above and u should not get any SOD..
and if i were u, i would back up my stuff, and only copy the android build files into the sd card and boot into it to and make sure that the sod cleared up before copying the other 12GB++ of stuff back in..
hope it works out right for u..
Same as the OP - running Elegancia v4, mattc froyo 1.5b, HSPL3 on tmous. With radio 2.08 I had constant SODs, flashed to 2.12 and I've been running android all day without a single SOD or crash.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
one thing that really helped me was doing a format on the sd card. Not a quick format, but the one that takes a long time to finish
I am on NRGZ 18 aug 23678 Cookies and 2.12 radio.
Never had any SODs with Miri,Dutty,NRGZ and kwbr
But I think that you must have an Android friendly ROM which is a 2.13 base

2 10 50 26 works a dream. No robo voice.
- pointless thread. many factors can cause SOD .
- all answers are in the threads surrounding this one or being worked on by devs.
I've been using 2.12.50 since before android came about, and I have very rarely had a sod, maybe in early days I was getting it occasionally but not daily. I've used all energy roms and still get same results. Only problems I found was when the zimages weren't as stable as they are now. But haven't had a single sod in over 2 weeks.

[Q] SPL change

Hello,
I'm running Android(JDMS 1.6.2) on my HD2. I'm really happy about how it feels and works. There is 1 problem i really like to get fixed. My Internet is really slow.
I read something about a radio i need to change because it does't work that well with the one that's installed on my phone right now(Is this true?). I need get this radio on my hd2 using hspl2. Problem is that when i try to install hspl2 i get an error about having a wrong spl(3.something). How do i get the good SPL on my phone?
Thanks in advance
Yeah, the radio version can influence the internet connection.
Witch radio version do you have for the moment?
And about your problem about SPL/HSPL; with is your spl version from the moment?
How can i check what radio version i have?
I have spl 3.08 i think. Try to do this a week ago. Did't get it right so i gave up.

I guess you mean spl 3.03.0000 (the one who is integrated into stock ROM 3.14!)?
In case you have install/use the stock ROM 3.14 you have spl version 3.03, and radio 2.15.50.
Don't look for installing the HSPL; HSPL and spl 3.03 isn't compatible.
But to be honestly, radio 2.15.50 oz the latest one (I also use it without connection problems.)
If you would like to know (for sure) witch spl version you have you need to set your device into the bootlouder screen. Shutdown your device > Hold volume down button press > press power button. You will get a 4 color screen = Bootlouder]
But back on your connection problem; did you try a other Kernel version?
Or try a other Android build.
You're right. Just checked it in windows.
I feel really stupid everytime i ask you how to do it. But how do i change te kernel?
I tried several builds and this is the only one which has this problem. It's too bad because i really like this one. Do you know a nice build that runs smooth?

Changing the kernel? Just download it and replace it with the one you have on your SD
Hmm, I don't have much experience with Android; but my favorite is this one: >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859817

[Q] Please Help a Dying HD2

Hello everyone, hopefully you can help me figure out what's wrong with my HD2.
.:BACKGROUND INFO:.
I bought a used TMoUS HD2 a couple months ago and it was working fine up until last month. At first, it would freeze and I would have to do a battery pull, but as time went on, it froze more and more often. One day, I think it froze around 20 times in a row. Eventually, I let the phone sit without the battery for a few minutes before I tried booting it again. When it did boot, I figured maybe there's something wrong with the software, so I did a hard reset. After the hard reset, the phone will boot into the desktop and then freeze (If I'm lucky) or sometimes it will just freeze on the T-Mobile "Stick Together" screen. I tried flashing a the stock ROM and it would always stop at 8%.
I've always used the stock ROM since I got the phone, not sure if the previous owner flashed it before, but it does have HSPL 2.08. The only thing I've done to the phone are the registry tweaks I got from these forums. Here's a list of applications I installed to my HD2:
Chainfire 3D Driver Update
Co0kie's Home Tab
appelflap HTCRamDisk
ATT WAP MEdiaNet and MMS Settings
Band Switch V2.8 Auto Disconnect Data
Battery Increment Display 1.66 ROMs
CleanRAM
ClearTemp v1.3.1
GoogleMaps
JayVee Disable Clock Flip
Long Press Send Key Alt Tab
RAMDisk Opera Cache
TCPMP v2 Video Audio Player
TX Opera Mobile 10 Flash Support
WM Long Life 0.66. 0302
Not sure if this is relevant or not, but the last thing I remember installing was Co0kie's Home Tab before the freezing started.
.:HD2 SPECS:.
OS Version: 5.2.21892 [21892.5.0.89]
Manila Version: 2.5.20121412.2
Rom Version: 2.13.531.1 [90963] WWE
Rom Date: 04.28.10
Radio Version: 2.10.50.26
Protocol Version: 15.39.50.07W
.:THINGS I'VE TRIED:.
Flashing a Custom ROM via USB will stop randomly at different percentages depending on which ROM I flash. I've tried a few different ones.
Flashing the stock ROM
(RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship) via USB always stop at 8%.
Flashing the stock ROM
(RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship) via SD card will give me an error (RADIO_V2 - RSA Fail). I've attached a picture of this error.
Since flashing the stock ROM via SD Card gives me an error (RADIO_V2 - RSA Fail), I decided to flash a new Radio (Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14), but it gives me the same error. (I've also attached a picture of this error) I haven't tried other ones because I'm not exactly sure which ones to try and I don't want to brick my phone...if it isn't already bricked yet.
Can anyone suggest some Radio that's safe for me to try flashing for my TMoUS HD2? I'm really out of ideas on what to do besides that, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
***EDIT 1*** (01.21.11) - Tried Task29, went all the way to 100% but the phone fails to reboot. Flashing a ROM after Task29 doesn't work Also added a picture of the bootloader screen.
***EDIT 2*** (01.21.11) - Added a list of radio and ROMs I've tried flashing in post #9.
You can flash any radio with .50. in the name.......
NEVER flash a .51. these will brick your phone.
However this doesnt sound like a radio problem. The only thing I can think to suggest is to read up on "Task 29" this will completely format your device memory and should allow you to reflash a new ROM.
Best of luck........
Thanks for your reply, Conantroutman! I just tried Task29 and it was stuck at 58% the first time, and the second time it completed all the way to 100% (With a success message from my PC) but my HD2's screen just goes black instead of rebooting. After a battery pull, I tried installing the stock ROM and the same thing still happens. It stops in the middle of updating and says there's a communication error.
Any thoughts?
Sorry, the only thing left to suggest is to try the whole process again on another PC. Also try uninstalling active sync / wmdc from your PC and trying again.
Chipped From The Bunker Via A Sandwedge
No need to be sorry I really do appreciate the help! Would upgrading/downgrading the HSPL do anything?
If it stops working using the pc then try using the sd card method.
Do a search for hd2 sd card flashing and you should find out how...
Might be more lucky without the pc in the mix, especially if there are communication errors involved...
Cheers...

I've actually done that as well. The flash also fails but at least it gives me an error (which I've posted a screenshot of in my first post). Not that I know what it means though Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help me decipher it.
Just a question, did you changed previously your radio? If yes to witch one?

I've been reading up on how to flash stuff since I got the phone last year, but I never tried to flash anything until the beginning of this week. I'm not sure if the previous owner did though.
These are the radio I've tried this morning:
-2.10.50.26
-2.11.50.20
-2.11.50.26
-2.12.50.02.2
-2.14.50.04
-2.15.50.14
I used the SD card method to flash all the radios above. Some of the radios failed before the progress bar finished, but some actually went all the way. The phone doesn't reboot itself after it finishes though, so I have to do a battery pull. It doesn't seem to make a difference since I still can't flash any ROMs after I flash the radio.
And these are the ROMs I've tried to flash:
-CR192 Desire HD v6.5.3.0.9 Beta
-RUU Leo 1 5 TMOUS 2.10.531.1 Radio Signed 15.34.50.07U 2.08.50.08 2 Ship
-RUU Leo 1.5 TMOUS 2.13.531.1 Radio 15.39.50.07U 2.10.50.26 Signed LEO Ship
-RUU Leo 1.5 TMOUS 3.14.531.1 Radio Signed 15.42.50.11U 2.15.50.14 2 Ship
After leaving the battery out of the phone for a day, I tried Task29 again and managed to complete it (all the way to 100% and a proper restart) without freezing. So then I tried flashing a stock rom, but that stopped at around 8%. When I go into bootloader now, it seems that my HSPL has been removed and I'm reverted back to regular SPL.
If I decide to use Task29 again or flash a stock rom, do I need to install HSPL? Should I install HSPL first or just leave it alone and flash normally?

Yes, install the right HSPL first. Then, do task 29, then you install the correct radio, lastly you can install custom rom.
Good luck

Thanks Silverwind, I'm using HSPL3 to install HSPL 2.08, but it always fails. I can install regular SPL 2.08 perfectly fine though. I'll leave the battery out for a day and try again to see if it makes any difference.

t-mobile branded HD2 - Germany

hi, i bought today on internet this t-mobile branded HD2....1st thing to do was to install an official but English fw (the branded one is in German)...spl 3.0 and last fw sometimes hangs on htc boot screen and vibrates 7 times ... switched back to stock (branded), works great .... any hint ? thanks !
How you switched to WWE version? HSPL or gold card method?
Which WWE version? 3.14 or an older one?
Why do you want to switch to a non branded WM version? Because of YouTube player?
Why not switching to a custom ROM?
HSPL and yes, it's 3.14 - i am not so into custom roms .... stock is fine for me ... and i think it's a hardware problem, has nothing to do with stock/custom anyways :-(
You can try to do a Task29 before flashing again.
If you enter boot screen, is there HX or SS next to PB81100? This means Hynix or Samsung memory chipset.
i have no idea what Task29 is i have to google it ...
at the boot screen i have:
PB81100 SS-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP LED 0x05
MicroP Touch 0x50
i am downloading the Artemis Rom (in your signature)....a quick tip to do the Task29 ?
Dankö !
nevermind i did the tak29 thing, and m ready to install the custom rom....ill get bck with details, thanks again
Task29 is something like format for hard disk drives.
Samsung chipsets are known to cause problems because of bad blocks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11070430#post11070430
For doing a Task29 and flashing Artemis you can use LeoAdvancedRUU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917807
Be sure to run LeoAdvancedRUU as Administrator.
EDIT: For using LeoAdvancedRUU (Task28, Task29 or Task32) you have to install HSPL3.03 again by using HSPL4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433

Before you install Artemis ROM you have to install T-Mobile ROM 3.14, because after Task29 you have a clean HD2 without anything and Artemis does not include RADIO or other needed system files.
Could be SPL version to WWE ROM are not matched.
Hopefully a Task29 & fresh install will do the trick.
Artemis ROMs are popular & also NRG ROMs are very good on the HD2.
More standard variant Custom ROM (NRG has several) can be used if that's what you prefer, from my experience the custom ROMs are far better than any standard build & we use custom 6.5.3 on all HD2s issued to staff as far more stable & better UI results in IT staff & user having better time ...
i will try, i am on hspl 3.03 - did the task29 step and now installing the stock rom (wwe)...i will than install Artemis...but i am almost sure that it's a hardware issue :-((
edit: nope, is not working / first boot after reflash hang at the HTC Boot screen and vibrates 7 times in a row :-(
Can you please correct me if i am wrong:
1. HSPL 3.03
2. Task29
3. WWW Stock Rom RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
4. Artemis Artemis_v660_0409_WWE
This a TMOUS version ? red & green end/pickup keys & 1GB ROM ...
You now on artmesis after procedure above !
If so I would try an NRG ROM & 2.08HSPL & see what result you get.
Use hardSPL4.0 to install HSPL2.08 & once complete install NRG ROM of your choice without task 29 ... not a big fan of task29, tends to get over used.
See what result you get !?

Nope, is a regular HD2 (tmobile germany branded)
1. i install the stock rom using LeoAdvancedRUU
2. install it again over SD (to get back to stock SPL)
3. install HSPL2.08
4. NRG Rom
on it right away ! thanks, i'll get back with let's hope good news !
Hope so but vibrations at boot do sound hardware fault, probably mainboard.
maybe lucky on 2.08HSPL ! certainly worth trying before getting tools out ...
well, it did boot but after couple of minutes of moving around the menus, it hangs ....so hardware, damn..i guess i have to send it to HTC ... thanks anyways for your help
pls, don't close yet this thread, might be someone around with the same issue and might help ... thanks !
Could be CPU BGA issue, try fridge test: put in in sealed clear bag & put in fridge for 1hr then take it out & use it a bit, maybe run a video or something & see if it last much longer before failing (can also put back in fridge with video running & check it every 5>10minutes to see how it doing)
If runs for longer or without freezing then you probably got CPU BGA failure when board reaches certain temps.
If makes no difference & problem persists the same then maybe bad memory, either way new board I expect ... :-/
it seems that it runs better with th NRG rom ... so i am pretty sure it hangs when overheated...i will try to freeze the freak thanks
INCREDIBLE: the only ROM that runs without any problem is the one that came with...the default ROM ...
RUU_Leo_TMO_DE_1.72.111.4_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship
Id double check you are correctly setting spl/hspl,,, a 3.14 rom on, for example, 1.66.hspl (the hspl that the hspl2.exe would offer you by default if you run it with 1.72 rom installed,) or indeed anything other than 3.03.0000 or 3.03.hspl, will run badly. You then flash back to stock, spl matches again, phone runs fine.
not saying it isn't something else, but it's worth checking.
3.03.HSPL with RUU_Leo_S_HTC_GER_3.14.407.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship - works great so far ....
