i can't program my phone with a new number - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

i have dcd's latest rom. i have been trying to program my phone for a new phone number. my phone not being used right now. none of the ## numbers work. ##111111# then talk dials out and i get the "this is bell mobility... " talked with bell and this should work. any idea's?

this may be a silly question, but did you install the carrier cab?

i thought they where part of the rom? i would need the bell mobility. how do i install it?

I hate to sound rude, but seriously -- you should read before mucking with your rom:

If you don't know how to install a cab, you shouldn't even think about flashing your rom.

the last rom had it and i chose it from the list.... thank you for the link..... it always worked fine till i got a new phone and now the wife wants to use my 6800.

...but all roms are different, which is why you need to read.

i know, i know.... it works now. thanks to you!!!! 8)

Restoring To Original Radio and ROM

Can someone please provide the HOW-TO restore back to the original Radio Version, original Locker or unlocker and original software available at HTC. (The files would be enough and a brief walkthrough) - I was able to change to 2.2.61 and it works fine but I am going to sell to someone and want them to have the original ROM so no issues will arise. Thanks for all your help!!
No Takers?
No suggestions?
a little more info please
Need to know what carrier your unit is for. If Sprint then it is pretty easy, but Verizon will require a little care as the files are not on the utstar page and the ones I have for it are untested as I have not tried the rollback.
so if we go to custom rom/radio with an unlocker all we have to do is reflash the sprint rom if we are on sprint?

Yes.. the Sprint ROM's available are complete ROM's with IPL, SPL, Radio, OS, ExtRom, etc. The Verizon ROM's are not available anywhere! Someone over at PPCGeeks claimed to be a Verizon Tech and said even they didn't have the software (which contradicts a user report where they say they walked into Verizon and walked out with a newly flashed XV6800). The available Verizon ROM's namely VZW_2.09_RUU_Signed.NBH is an OS only ROM. It's even got a CID of SPCS_100 which is wrong. IIRC Verizon has a CID of VZW__001.
Anyway, I bricked a XV6800 the other day because I didn't downgrade the radio before running TitanRelocker. The bootloader would not accept any NBH's except the Sprint ship ROM which of course would not load because the Vendor ID didn't match. If you have an XV6800 you should be a little more careful with updating the ROM's since we do not have an easy rollback method like Sprint users do!
Sprint!
Figured it out! Thanks it was a Sprint - Now I feel more comfortable trying different rom's out there...

What would happen if Qwest Mogul flashed with "new" Sprint ROM?

It's hard to find much information about flashing a Qwest 6800. Since it is on the Sprint network, could I just flash my phone with the Sprint directions and the Sprint ROM or do changes have to be made to it first?
Thanks for your help.

if you want a custom rom, i think qwest provider is a choice in my kitchen, if not ill add it.
That would be great. I'm a bit worried to flash my ROM, but I really want GPS.
I would also like to mention that I stalk you on the internet.

Cellular South htc 6800

I have a titan on the Cellular South network, small carrier mainly in mississippi. I want to try upgrading my rom, however I do not want to make the same mistake I made with my Palm 700wx. I would like to make a backup copy of the stock rom in case things don't work out and I need to reinstall it. I have searched heavy for backup procedures with no luck. All I have found is recommending saving the ESPT settings. I have copied some, but am not sure what all I need. Any guideance would be appreciated!
not much help or cooperation out here on the 6800; I must say the communication is much better when I was working on my palm 700wx on this site.
I'm a noob, but I too have searched heavily about how to backup the stock ROM/radio, but to no avail. If you want to try better ROM's on the TITAN, I believe from all the reading I have done that the best option is...
SPL: nueSPL247(unlocks the phone)
ROM: dcd3.2.6
RADIO: 3.42.50(GPS enabled0
also no2chem puts out nueROM which is presently up to nueROM3 (for a small donation, it can be yours).
You can also get the complete kitchen from ppckitchen.org
Good luck. If you have any success upgrading your phone, please post it here. I too am on a small local carrier probably in a boat similar to you.

Yeah, but only if you are with a major carrier to the best of my knowledge. Those of us with tier 2 carriers don't get to enjoy that benefit. That is why we constantly want to know how to extract the ROMs from our phone. That way we too could try other ROMs and restore to our carriers ROM if we cannot get it working.

Yeah, with my Palm I could get Cellular South stock rom; however I have not seen it on the HTC website.
I would like to test with my Titan, however I would like to have my stock rom saved to fall back on if need be. There has to be a pretty straight forward method to backup/save your stock rom; I just haven't been able to get my hands on it!
Someone that makes/mods ROMs might be able to help you with dumping your stock rom. The names that come to mind are scrosler, dcd, and gc14. Bitserve took over scrosler's ROM so might have some idea as well.
I apologize to those mentioned above if you get unwanted attention now.
cellular south 6800
I have a cellular south 6800 and hacked it up a while back. All cell south 6800's run a stock sprint rom and just had the names on it changed to cellular south. Cell south actually bought them from Sprint then just rebadged them. You can download the stock sprint rom that is on them from sprint or from here on the forums somewhere (found it in another post a while back). Because of this I did not make a backup of mine before I changed it. I did run into minor problems during the change but only because I lost my epst settings and did not make a good backup of them before I started. I just copied what I needed off a friends 6800.
Backup your epst setting by writting ALL of them down then put nuerom2.4.7 on it and you are good to go. Write down the rom version that is listed in epst. If you ever need to go back you just load up the stock sprint rom.
Thank you greatly for your response; I have been reading and searching for days to resolve this.
Have a Great Day!

If you've worked with CellSouth phones, maybe you can help me. I updated my phone using the Sprint ROM now available on HTC's web site. I messed up, left the phone unattended, and when I got back, my daughter had performed the steps that let the Sprint authorization take place. So I have a Sprint-inized phone. I've got it working, but it keeps changing my dialer settings to a Sprint PCS dialer that won't allow me to save the user name and password.
I need to get back to the stock ROM, but I can't find one. I do find the 2.17 for a Sprint, but the radio ROM is lower than the 1.69 that was on the phone.
Or, I need to know if I can flash another ROM, keeping the current radio.
The original device info:
ROM 2.17.557.0
ROM Date 11/20/07
Radio Version: 1.69.00
Protocol Ver: ACAAAAM-4070
Hardware Ver: 0003
PRL Version: 10002
PRI Version: 1.34_013
It was running WM6.0
The new Device info:
ROM Version 3.56.651.0
ROM Date 06/16/08
Radio Version 3.42.02
Protocol Ver. DCAAXAM-4350H
Hardware Ver. 0003
PRL Version 10002
PRI Version 2.04_003
WM 6.1

I am not with your carrier but I can answer this part. If you have the correct spl 2.40 or 2.47 then yes you can flash the roms here and it will leave the radio alone.
Thanks!
So that means no locking, reverting to stock, then flashing.. just flashing the new?
In the mean time, I was able to load the Telus carrier Cab from DCD and it gave me a modem that I can edit. So, I'm able to do my data connection without headaches.
If I could get the Sprint apps off of it, things probably would be cool. But there seems to be people getting better GPS results and cooler apps with other ROMS. So, maybe I'll give one of them a try.

flashin roms

hi im new to HTC HD2, i have the australian version which im guessing is the europe version, i was wondering when i try and install a rom wheather i have to change the name of the ruu_signed.nbh file, ive watched all the youtube videos i could and on some of them i have seen the named changed to LEO.... so im sort of stuck, any help would be appreciated cheers frank
only need to change name when using sd card to flash.
By 'australian version' do you mean telstra version? which isn't the euro version, but roms work the same.
1 - run hspl3
2 - choose 2.08.hspl (not 2.08.0000)
Once you have applied hspl, you dont need to do it again.
3 - flash your rom.
thanx champ, not sure if its a telstra version, ive bought an unlocked 1 from ebay, just doing all the research i can before it gets here, ive flashed fones before i had an LG Veiwty use to flash the **** out of it, ive downloaded about 6 roms im gunna go with the kumar rom 1st i think, ive got all the stuff i need HSPL ect, just wasnt sure about the rom name
Also what radio should i go with if it is a telstra version i know theres alot of choices any help appreciated cheers
Just do HSPL first. Then follow the instructions on the threads of the roms that you want to try. You'll never get lost mate. Goodluck to your flashing!
radios are hardware independant, doesnt matter which you flash UNLESS you happen to get a tmous (t mobile usa) hd2. You can tell if it is a tmous, because it says t mobile beneath the earpiece. If it DOES say t mobile there, then you need to be careful what radio you flash.
thanks guys for the respones and the encouragement, this forum is way better than some of the forums ive been on

AT&T HTC Titan-----Canada

I know this question has been posted but I can't find the answer.
I live in Canada and am on the Bell network.
My phone died a horrible death, and I want to buy a HTC Titan on eBay.
All I can find that are unlocked are AT&T X310a. What I want to know is will they work for me on the Bell network
If not what should I be looking for.
Thanks MrRusty

Will it work? Yes
Will you get 3G (HSPA+)? Depends is Bell 3G on the same frequency (850 & 1900)?
I purchased an unlocked AT&T Titan and put it on the Telus network and it works great. Telus and Bell are 3G HSPA+ 850 1900.
Thanks very much for the responses!
The AT&T you bought was the model number X310a or X310e and does it have a AT&T stamped on it.
And did you just stick your sim card in it and away you went.
And thanks ahead of time for any help.
You may not be able to use MMS though as it will probably only have settings for at&t in the database, Even connection set-up may not work properly, I could not use an at&t branded Titan 2 for MMS in the UK, Everything else worked fine, The best option is to get an EU Titan X310e which wont have any branding etc.
I have at&t x310a.
It works on Bell network just fine.
Has anyone used x310e from Europe?
Will it work the same?

Off-topic:
MMS won't work even with the EU Titan on many networks.
In UK O2, Giffgaff and T-mob have frequent issues.
Three, Vodafone, Orange seems to be ok with MMS.
Probably same with US networks? Some will work and some wont.

Thanks for the great posts, really helps and good to know as mine is on it's way
Did you install a custom rom on yours, or running the AT&T stock.
Were you able to uninstall the AT&T apps?
I know this sounds stupid ... can you remove the AT&T logo on the front top of the screen.
Just asking
AT&T Logo is beneath the glass- so unless you replace the lcd itself it won't be possible to remove the logo.
As for custom roms, I haven't unlocked the phone. I've ordered the Y-cable and patiently waiting for it to arrive...
I've read on xda that all you need to do to unlock and install a custom rom on the AT&T x310e or x310a is to install HSPL then you can just install the custom rom.
Have anybody done on and the steps involved.
AT&T Custom Rom Install
let me try and get this straight in my mind
I just picked up a new AT&T Titan (P139100) and I live in Canada and on the Bell network.
The phone is unlocked x310a or x310e
Can I just hold down the volume + and power button to start boot mode plug into my laptop and then just install Dynamics 7 v1.21 or can I just get away with installing HSPL then rom

Not quite. Before embarking with installation of custom rom it pays for you to have good read on the titan development section and understand how this work or not work especially with ATT branded titan. Basically you will need to use a gold card method to flash dft spl 2.5 before you can install dft hspl both are pre requisite so you can install custom rom.
Goodluck.

To get rid of this annoying unlocked code business, you need to flash a stock Cingular rom 1.10, then force update to 8107 or Tango using cab sender, and problem solved

Ok then... it's a AT&T phone but I use a Cingular rom. Do I have to flash using a Gold card and y cable and with SPL then HSPL then update with the rom or can I just Flash it with the Cingular Rom. And if it's that easy is there a link to the Cingular Rom 1.10
And better still is there a wiki on how to do it with software links.
Thanks
Cingular rom is the stock rom for ATT branded phone and you only need to use RUU to flash this rom. Downloand ROM and RUU from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334468

I tried the registry edit thing but that didn't work.
OK I have finally found the Cingular Eternity rom and ruu.
Can you point me towards a link to the cab sender or the instructions on how to do it.

OK so I found the Cingular ROM and install it, the re-locking problem has gone away.
I updated to Tango (8773) and all runs great!... but
After I installed 7720, HTC Connection Setup app wasn't there and after upgrading to 8773 it still isn't there.
The problem I have is I can't send a picture with a text message. I can send a text message fine, surf the internet with WiFi on and off.
I have 4G everything works great, I just can't send a pic attached to my text message and I can't receive a picture either if some one sends a text with a pic attached. I have gone into the APN settings and entered all there is to enter from the Bell site but still nothing.
When I got the phone it came loaded with AT&T 7720 and had the connection setup app installed and it entered the info fine and I had text and picture attached and it worked great. I could send text messages with pics attached all day long and it worked fine.
What I want to know is is there a way to get into the MMSC or what ever they call it to tell the phone it can use this feature. As I said before it worked fine when the connection setup app was there. But it's unavailable now from the HTC market site
