I have a Atom life with a 20070326b1ARA ROm a support agent told me that i need to use a M6_ARA_RC2140907B2 ROM i tried running the program with the USB cable, But an error ocurred (Costumer or model ID error) i tried with WWE_020108_B2_DS Rom but the same happend. The the support agent told me that i need to do it with the boot-loader mode (rec + soft reset) i enter to the boot loader options are
(1) Enter OS
(2) Enter GSM AT Mode
(3) Enter GSM AT+Diag Mode
(4) Enter GSM Download Mode
(5) Burn MOT/BL via UART
i plug the USB cable and USB detected come up but in the PC the same error happend (costumer or id model error)
So hwhat can i do

I just bought an O2 XDA Atom Life on craigslist. It still had the Windows Mobile 5.0. So the first thing I wanted to do was to upgrade to the latest ROM. I tried the ROM's on MWG.com and on MyXDA.com. Everytime I had the same problem. I had the 20070326B1ARA Windows 5.0 Arabic version. None of the ROM's would work.
I got the Arabic Windows 6.0 ROM on myxda.com and started the install. Once it extracted the files, I opened my Windows/Temp folder on my computer. Using a hex editor I opened pass.32. near the beginning it had the letters WWE. I changed those letters to ARA and saved the file back into Windows/Temp. Then I continued the installation and everything worked.
UPDATE: This also worked with the latest ROM from the MWg website. I don't know if there is much difference except that the MyXDA version includes a program called O2 Connect for updates... which doesn't find any updates.

Hi to all, my problem is that I can't enter the bootloader. in other words I can enter it(power+navigation buttom and reset) but i only see the word Serial and v1.01, and when usb is connected I see USB v1.01 , i can't see d2s or any other information and options. Well I was thinking to flash it to the sd in case the phone goes dead and you're out of activesync so the only way of flahsing it will be through SD. But another way of flashing is more than appriciated so I'll be waiting for ur guide.. do u happen to know why I can't see the options in the bootloader? thanks really
1st ... I have no idea why you cant get into the bootloader. On my xda 2 after a cold reboot i just get the serial and then when in the cradle I get usb, from their I dont know what to do. I would class myself as a newbie as well but I can talk you through what I did.

i'm willing to flash the OS rom and not the extended. My version is 1.03.00 Ger and I want to flash to the "Dangaard (Qtek) 1.60" or RUU16006WWE_T-mobile_NL version which is an english one although I heard some people had their phones dead while doing so. I must find a way to back my rom 1st.. Did u do the update urself??

I was originally after flashing the extended rom only, but due to not fully understanding the instructions at

I made a mistake and flash the Radio Stack - the OS and the extended rom as well. After this I worked out how to use HimUpgradeUt.exe to flash the extended rom only. I am guessing that if you follow the same procdure for flashing the rom and flash the OS you will get the same results.
However I haven't tried it yet. I am hoping to get the radio rom and the OS rom for O2 xda2 and try it but until them I cant confirm it. I am only guessing that it will work?
So its up to you I have successfully updated the extended rom 4 time but I just dont have the files to do it?

I already tried Multi-Port/USB TTY program , but in the instructions it says"

It seems that we are taking cross purposes here.
Using HimaUpgradeUt.exe you can update the roms using .NBF files,
hence the way in which I updated all 3 of my roms in one go.
Radio.nbf
Ms.nbf
Exteneded Rom.nbf (can’t remember the actual name) it looks like you are using a different up loader or have different files to upload. I can only really help with advice on the process that I followed. I can provide you with the files that I had, if you want it will change your 02 format to I-Mate in English.

I think that you can try using ositools I will find the link and then post it, but again I am still not sure how you reinstal it afterwards

I am in the same situation with you, have you solved yet?

I had the same problem, and I found the cause to be a USB Hub. I found that when I plugged the cradle directly into my PC I managed to load the update without any further problems.

you have to disable usb or com port in activesync, before trying to connect with mtty, or terminal program.

I tried all the ways like using the Sd method and the .nb1 file and many other combos to install rom to the device ,got no luck at all :S when it reboots it tells there's non GSM neither the protocol is shown!
I was able to enter the windows after leaving it for a long time, rom version is 1.72.00, I wasn't able to sync also with the pc, it's like the USB port is dead, thus I wasnt able to do the flashing from the USB on bootloader mode I get the 101 error connection code the whole time with all the combination I've tried and using many Hima files..
Is there a way to flash the radio rom file from the Windows like the old wallaby as if it's made as cab file, I'm asking if the file is available or could be done by some1.

Download ROM you wnat to up.
Run ROM .exe file.After extracting,don't click next button,go to Windows\Temp folder on PC,find pass.32.
Open it with ultraedit32 or winhex,find CHT(with chinese),change to WWE(if you want to up WWE ROM) and save.
Go back ROM update window and click next.After a few step,your phone is had new ROM!

Believe (correct me if im wrong guys, IMO) if you upgrade from one of the ROM's available here at the forum. lets say any updated WM6 cooked rom or even a WM5 that is WWE . it will change everything! the language will be english since it's a WWE.
the error: "Country ID or Device ID Error" has been posted here for the nth time already. You need to enter bootloader mode "camera+reset" prior to upgrading the ROM.
Upgrade Procedure: FYI
1. Put device to bootloader mode: (CAMERA+RESET)
2. Connect device to PC under Windows XP using USB cable
3. Extract files to Windows/Temp then execute Device Software Update Utility.EXE<-(DSUU for Atom Pure)
4. Follow on-screen procedure

Try press "camera button" + "reset button" then plug your usb cable and
run your original rom.

Have you installed activesync 4.5 btw??? If yes continue to read below, if not get activesync first.
change USB cable, it may be deffective. any cable will do, motorola, canon digicam et al. then try steps below
put device in bootloader mode: camera button + reset hole
plug usb device then run original ROM.
read the wiki thats why it's there!!!!

try flashing it while its still connected via active sync and not in the bootloader mode if its still show error connection mode then it must be the rom is not compatible for ur device or there is really a problem with the connection

hp doesn't come out with WM6 or WM6.1 for ipaq 6815.... there's only custom roms which are modified to work with ipaq 6815... you can choose from a variety of them in here.... have fun!...

i've read thru many of the replies in this forum. i'm a newbie and don't knw much abt roms. i tried upgrading or if u call it flashing my ipaq via PC and later SD. the PC flash did not work. i had to wait almost the whole day becos it said it was reading configuration from the phone. i later tried the flash via a transcend 1GB miniSD and till today the phone has gone off. i tried to power it on even with th e battery fully charged. my sis has the same phone i tried swapping batteries but it still didn't come on. i really need to upgrade to windows mobile 6.1 i formerly had WM 5.0, today itried again and it still stays on the boot screen.(white background with the HP logo and the Pbl 1.05 at the botton of the screen .
please i need help ASAP.
Downlgrade your bootloader to 1.01
Hi,
You have to downgrade your bootloader from 1.05 to 1.01. Find in the following the instructions how to do it. I did it and it's working.
Be careful when you do downgrade, because you can end up without phone

1. Check your Boat loader version
(do a soft reset, and check the value printed at the bottom during the HP logo screen)
2. If you noticed that the last line states BL 1.00.05, it means you have boat loader 1.05 installed. You will need to download and flash your phone back to 1.01 via ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34053.exe (VERY DANGEROUS, FLASHING VIA SD IS MUCH SAFER!)
3. After successfully downgraded your phone's boatloader, or your version was already v1.01, you can proceed to flash your phone to the rom.
With the check done, proceed with the required files.
1. Go to download section to download the rom file. -- The rom that you downloaded, e.g (diskimg.nbo)
2. Download the file pcupdate.zip attached in this thread and unzip the contents to the same folder you used in step 1.
3. Download the latest Rom file and extract to the same folder
4. Run BuffereAddHeader.bat. It will take seconds to generate a diskimage_Ver.nb0. (You should have Java Runtime > 1.50 installed, http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)
5. Move your phone to boatloader mode ( press the two - keys, follow by a poke at the soft reset hole with your stylus )
6. Connect the phone to the PC
7. Execute the Device Utility Update program and wait till it verifies the state. Click on Update Item "All" use cursor keys to change it to "OS ONLY" then hit next **** SELECT "OS ONLY", if you cant change it to "OS ONLY" DONT PROCEED!!! It should detect your device as Model 0 etc.
8. Press Next to begin flashing.
9. Once completed, the phone will reset by itself. Wait for a while for it to startup.
REMEMBER SELECT OS ONLY BY PRESSING DOWN IN THE SELECTION BOX

PC flashing using BL1.0.1 must be done from C:\Windows\Temp, so why not start everthing from this folder ie PCUpdate + ROM + missing file(s).

How to downgrade to WM5 using PC
1. download wm5 rom from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...pappid=NextGen
2. run it and after entering the updating screen cancel it.
3. replace the hpRUU.exe in c:\IPAQ(default install) with the attached file hpRUU.exe in archive hpRUU.zip
4. Connect device to PC, then press and hold two "-" button and reset.
5. Run hpRUU.exe and do a normal update.
Note: you may delete eboot*.nbf to prevent bricking the device.
bootloader missing
well i m using HP rw 6815, n last night i had flashed a 6.5 rom , later i was unsatisfied with tat rom,

No bootloade aparantly but bootloader hp logo loaded but insted o o.0.o i had a ff.ff.ff bootloader. i dunno what that meant. i inserted a eboot.nb0 on sd reseted in bl (v1.0.5 from this forum).... bootloader updated oki.. but my phone transformed in a hp rw6828, and i can install 6828 rom working and bootin fine in rw6815, the rw6815 rom install via sd but restarts on boot screenn .. this appeard when i tried a downgrade from wm6.5 to wm5 when i try to upgrade via hpruu it looks tat i have a no language hpipaq model.. My model info is "€ R 0 6 0 8 2 2 N _ M N 1 A R C _ R S 0 0 0 5 2" i dont know how to interpret this file sysyinfo.txt with that data. my question is how can i downgrade to wm5 and original bl of hp rw6815? i have all files in nbf form. This roms get ur phone alive after this bug... or the restar bug... they work with both 1.0.1 bl and 1.0.5 bl more stable with 1.0.1... and i thing the developer of the rom did not change the indentifier of the rw6828 rof for 6815... i think it;s hybrid rom between... it works.

1. Remove Battery from your mobile.
2. Remove SIM card too.
3. Wait around 5 min. & put them back again.
4. Everything should be OK

I tried to flash the 6815 is here and I have put my diskimg.nb0 on 2gb memory card. Press the 2 buttons with the "-" and give it to reset with a stick ... I get into the bootloader and returns to the screen while windows. It might be because the bootloader has the pda is 1.0.5??
The problem is that trying to change the bootloader 1.0.1 is here and not working because my pda is Spanish.
How can I reduce it?
