Try press "camera button" + "reset button" then plug your usb cable and
run your original rom.

Have you installed activesync 4.5 btw??? If yes continue to read below, if not get activesync first.
change USB cable, it may be deffective. any cable will do, motorola, canon digicam et al. then try steps below
put device in bootloader mode: camera button + reset hole
plug usb device then run original ROM.
read the wiki thats why it's there!!!!

try flashing it while its still connected via active sync and not in the bootloader mode if its still show error connection mode then it must be the rom is not compatible for ur device or there is really a problem with the connection

Just wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to upload one of the new Atom Exec roms, edited to re-include the bootloader option (for installation on an 'old' Atom).
The 20060915 rom (not convinced the 20060721 is really the latest being it came out a while back ... and of course there's the name) with R060822N_MN2ARC_RS00013 radio update would be ideal - but as I'm looking to do a housekeeping reflash, any update from the old edited 0721 mod_n-fix rom will be greatly appreciated.
I have upload Roms but i d'ont know if you want those one!

I am stuck with the O2 Atom Exec Rom Version: 20060915 on the Atom and am unable to remove or re-rom any other version. I tired the bootloader mode: Camera+reset but it will not overwrite it and give a USB error. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it.

I got rid of the Atom and bought an Imate JasJam. Much Better Pocket PC Phone on comparision. Slower and a bit more complex but better in features and works well. It is also well supported in Mumbai, India.

I suggest you search through the forum, the solution has been discussed in detail, dont use the SD card to flash back unless you're 100% sure you know what you're doing. What you need to do is dl the edited 60721 rom and flash then you will be able to downgrade rom.
I can't find any of the edited roms on the ftp. Where to get?

If you have Atom Exec ROM, then the bootloader keys are Camera+Reset. If you can enter bootloader, you can now upgrade to the usual XDA Atom ROM.

press camera+reset button. you should see bootloader screen. From here, upgrade using the procedure I discussed in the aku3.3 thread.

Well, I managed to downgrade my ROM back to the original Atom (my sig isn't updated - had problems with the extROM wiping itself) - but I was kinda lucky.
Y'see, the AE hack rom I use has an updated bootloader that won't let you do a USB firmware update unless you're activesync'd.
The only way to solve an ExtROM wipe was to reflash the device, so I did. Using the hack ROM DSUU - at this point, the original ROM won't recognize the device - I found that it usually takes a few tries for the extROM update to go through (extROM format fail) - when it fails, your phone will be stuck in bootloader (Connect a USB cable). Repeated attempts to flash the phone solves the problem.
So when my extROM inevitably disappeared again, and I hit the extROM format fail again, I decided I had enough and tried using the original Atom0426-0822 ROM.
It went through this time.
Seems that the only way to bypass the bootloader lock is to semi-brick your device. >_>

Strange, i already did that, and got the "0" from DSUU, but when i start upgrading, the bootloader spits out a message saying that i should connect with OS mode.
Anyway, I've edited the diskimage_Ver.nb0 file to do it.

Hi guy the main key on the file call EBOOT everytime when you want dowgrade your OS to normal ATOM just put this file to you SD card then use the bootloader mode you can see "imge downloading" just wait for a second it will reboot again . then you can use the DSU mode to flash your device

I was trying to cook my own ROM, but after I successfully flashed it, I found it very buggy. I wanted to flash it back, but the device cannot establish a standard patnership with ActiveSync 4.5, only guest mode can be used. When I tried to used DSUU, it stuck. When I entered bootloader (060613 MN2), it refused to DSUU, saying that it must run under Sync (but I can't! ), and when I inserted the SD card with diskimg.nb0, it showed "SD download complete" immidiately after beginning, and nothing flashed.
How can I recover my system? Please help me! Thank you very much!

have a try, remove your SD card, and go into bootloader mode, then run DSUU, good luck.

You have to flash with another Atom Exec ROM. No choice. And being in guest mode doesn't disable flashing last I checked.
Don't worry!
You have to flash your bootloader with an older version, and then flash new rom in bootloader mode.
First: You need extract file eboot.nb0 from the rom “Xda-Atom-ENG-20060614” and copy this file to the root directory of your Mini SD card. Insert this card into your Atom and press Reset + Camera to go into bootloader mode. Your atom will download this new bootloader and then reboot.
Becareful!Be sure that the file is copy 100% correctly to your card and plug your Atom to a charger before upgrading. Remember that uprom from SDcard is dangerous.
Second: remove your sdcard, go into bootloader mode again, connect your Atom to PC and run DSUU to flash rom (DSUU might stuck at 6% while flashing the extended rom). But at this time, you can press reset and it will start the OS.
If your Atom boot normally and you can run camera apps, your phone is OK. If it not, you have to connect it to PC and run DSSU one more time.

Run CHT DSUU as normal; then before the final confirmation, copy WWE ROM files and overwrite all CHT files, then confirm flashing. That may help. There was a thread about downgrading Atom Exec ROM to Atom ROM that can also help you.

i updated my atom rom version to 3.3.3 three days ago.It installed completed i used this rom 3-4 hours then i was freeze and i try to reset it. it didnt respond so i decided to hard reset to my atom.I tried to hard reset now it says "device clean boot....." it stuck this screen then i try to reset the device then it stuck o2 screen it didnt pass to align screen. i cant use my atom for three days

For those of you who have downloaded and flashed using SD Card method who ended up in a brick! ITEX recovers his Atom by following procedure:
1. remove SD Card
2. remove battery
3. hold camera button and reset (stylus) button
4. replace battery while still holding the buttons
This will bring you back to bootloader mode. Just flash the above DSUU.

it can barely use WM5 and anyway these chinese splash their advertising for WM6 all over the place in hope ppl will buy their rom, until I see it running in my device or get confirmation from someone reliable (such as Jiggs) I dont believe a word of it and besides the 3.3.3 rom is very fast and ten times better than any actual official release

try to be on the bootloader and reflashed the ROM. try to search same cases in the forum. I think they solved the problem alike.

donot ever try thru SD card.. there is a chance that you may brick your device.
Goto bootloader mode first then u run DSUU.
Now after i did that, it dosent work with DSUU .it show "error connection".and my divice shows the upgrade fail
How many files you have in the upgrade directory? Normally it should contain 6 files:
- Device Software Update Utility.exe
- diskimage_Ver.nb0
- EBOOT.nb0
- ExtendedRom.img
- nova_pda_033105.mot
- vl1d_pda_Ver.mot
It will always shown connection error if one of these files is missing
I have all of them,
It seems feasiable to full downloadig the Rom from SD(memory card), but i need mor files:
"diskimg.nb0 , eboot.nb0 , dm.nbo , flash.img , agent.mot , mot.mot , CPLD.img , assetInf.img , extended.img , Mdoc.img"
If it's possible to upgrading with them how can i rech them ?

Why did you do this?! No one gave out instructions to flash anything using SD CARD in the first place! Of course you will get connection error because bootloader is not functioning. Remove your SDCard, start bootloader mode, and flash the normal way.
I did that but it's not worked. and got me "error connection", i saw some where that if i do it in the that way (with sd) it's worke and beacuse of that i did it in that wey, now what should i do? how can upgrad my ROM or downgrad it, my divice is alredy ded, how can i get it alive? help me

can you go into bootloader mode?
yes it's go to the bootloader but when run DSUU plase of the last version of the rom and radio is empty, when i click on UPGRAD it get me ERROR CONNECTION

I'm sorry. I don't get you. You can go to bootloader, but you get an error. Can you post a screen shot of the error? so, I will know what to do.

do you have any other USB to mini-USB cable? try changing it... The ones used for SD Card readers or Digital Cameras are the same, and do it again.

1) Is windows recognizing your device?.. (Do you have activesync installed?)
2) Did u try using different USB cable ?
3) Are you logged on as administrator?
4) Did you remove SD card before going to bootloader mode
5) What is the screen content when you go to boot loader mode
6) Before connecting the device go to bootloader first, then connect the device and then run DSUU
7) Activesync may install device drivers for your device so try installing activesync?

1. We get the most first sewing of Xda-atomexec-eng-20060614_r060428n_ex0028.exe (only by this sewing restore was able)
2. We drag out the files of eboot.nb0
3. We copy on miniSD in a root directory.
4. We insert miniSD in Pocket, enter in bootloader (Camera+SR)
5. We wait inundated while.
6. We take out a miniSD, enter in bootloader, start sewing on PC, connect to USB (it is needed to put to death in the processes of AS)
We are sewn!!!
