HEllo all, i'm using the Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b4 ROM, and i'm happy (excluding the problem with BT..). TouchFlo cube it's pretty cute, but what about the "finger scrolling" on other applications?

do you mean in the HTC touch? i think that it works also in PIE and other programs where there's something to scroll.
In the WM6 roms with touchflo included the fingerscrolling does not work. (it works only in the cube)
I think that it's something like a driver or a program that run on top of other applications
Scrolling works
The scrolling works but nit if you use the stylus or finger nail you have to use the finger because of the tickness if the finger is larger then the stylus... thats the way it works.

gullum do you mean in the Touch or S200 using Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b4 ROM ?
On my device does not works. If i go from cube to contact I cannot scroll the contact with the finger.
I had finger scrolling worked the first time I started up v2.0b4, and after some issues, did a couple of hard resets - since then have had no scrolling outside of touch (along with no BT/Wifi) - so you could be in the same boat.
I think one of the auto install files setups the scrolling but doesn't setup right - so you actually may not have it working - yet am running the same rom as the other posters.

Sure. that's the way i did. Just use the finger (it does not work when u use the stylus!!!).... i can scoll even in pocket IE with my finger... (with Fantastic Mobiz v2.0b4 ROM)
Ya I too can scroll it (contacts, file explorer and IE too). Make a clean sweap using ur stylus from up to down or vice versa.
I confirm the scrolling work for the contacts if you use the cube before
By my XDA Neo installed with Fantastic B4 Rom, Finger Scrolling works on nearly every app window with scroll bar, except the Today screen. Tested by File Explorer, Resco File Explorer with Regedit, MemMaid, Coreplayer, Mdict and so on.
finger scrolling feature as an .exe or .cab?
Is there a possibility not to have all the work flashing a new rom again but installing the finger scrollig feature as an .exe or .cab? I'm pretty content with my current WM6 and actually don't have the time for flashing.
Do you see it maybe somewhere in your ext-roms?
Thanks for your help!

This is the original Link to a working TouchFlo (Alpha) I am currently testing on the Athena using VGA 96 DPI and the AP/PK's latest v2.0. I have included a zip folder of selected screen shots. I first found this link outside the forum, then learned that other devices on the forum are already working with it.
The program is installed via two CAB files, one installs Adobe FlashLite, the other is Szabi CubeLauncher. Perform a soft reset after loading. Launching is currently to a 'Home Screen' Start>Programs>CubeLaunch. The home background is a bit suggestive, so if you would like to avoid that image, copy the attached bg.jpg to Program Files>Szabi>CubeLauncher and over write the existing file. It can be any 240x320 jpg you prefer.
When you install the CubeLauncher, you also get a CubeConfig program which lets you customize any of the 5 faces of the 'Cube' which is relally a 5-sided prism or polyhedron. Screen shots of each face are included along with one transitional rotation captured.
TouchFlo has been on of the hottest topics around the forum with nearly every device scrambling to cook it into ROMS. Up to now, cooking was necessary as the base applications from the HTC Touch are dll driven. Since this application is Flash(tm) enabled, there is no need for booting with the dll's.
Launching from the home screen is much like the HTC Touch, with an UPWARDS swipe of the finger from the bottom or middle part of the screen. Sides are rotated forward and back with sideways swipes as you would intuitively expect. You can also open and close the cube with a single stylus poke in the bottom center of the screen. Close from the home screen by touching the lower right signal bar.
The first page is a 6 application program launcher followed by a twelve slot phone contacts photo gallery on page two. Page three is a 6 app media page while page four is primarily for MS Office Apps. Page five is yours to play with.
The developer's web site is in Chinese, but the translation indicates that trials of the demo and feedback are welcomed. You can download the demo at the following Link: Http://rapidshare.com/files/54065589/Szabi-CubeLauncherICON.rar
It is not a finished work (yet) but it is getting close. Please provide your thoughts and interest so the the Project Team can assess wether or not to work on this for our devices. As you will see, we can easily do more with VGA quality backgrounds and icons, but the basics are definitely there.
Kind Regards to the Developer
guau! looks very nice! thanks bro!!!!

Did you try?
I would like if it is compatible with ROM Black Touch AP2
If you need not change the dpi i am all up for it!
would someone be super kind and put on a direct link or something else than rapid share, coz i can't use that from my company
Installed on my X7500 WM6 ITA with 96dpi setting, here they are my considerations:
1. Graphic should be improved with an appropriate resolution of images used to build the interface. (I hope I can do it by maself)
2. Scrolling works well even if touching feedback should be more reactive on striping finger over display
3. Not all the applications link work. I hope I can customize by myself
4. Home screen works fine, images resolution apart.
Nothing I can say about RAM and battery usage...still testing it.

Tested with 128 DPI Settings and it looks and works the same, regardless of the font. Some of the demo apps are not set to the correct file links, however using the CubeConfig module, this is easily corrected. I just went through each screen and tested what worked an what didn't, then ran the CubeConfig and changed the broken links. Again, this is an (Alpha Demo) but it is working!
Bother! Was hoping you would say it didn't work
I really should know better than to install beta software, let alone alpha!
Can I resist trying it......
probably not !

MortButtons is around since about 4 years, but since there's quite some hype recently about both "touch-able" menu systems like Spb Menu or TouchCube and "click-through" button enhancers like HButton, maybe MortButtons might be interesting for some people, too.
It offers all required ways to launch a menu entry (press app button multiple times and wait for timeout, direction pad, tapping the entry), allows freely configurable items for up to 5 main menus (any number of entries and sub menus; don't believe old sites telling about an entry limit, it doesn't exist since years...), includes a task list (like Alt-Tab), offers many "special" entries (system settings, new documents, calls, new messages, screen rotation, ...), is skinnable, free (though donations would be nice), ...
V2.5 compared to V2.41 mostly adds some "facelifts" (new icons and skins, alpha channel support, images as icons for entries, user defined backgrounds, ...) and better performance, but also some new features like finger gestures and access to the system settings.
More informations, download, manual, etc. is available here.
(Screenshot shows TransAqua1 (new default) skin with Spb's Snowy theme as background, icons are "GlassIcons" .png images available in Rotlaus' forum intended for rlToday).
Wow, Thank you so much for such a wonderful software. I just started using Mortbuttons just a few weeks ago and like it very much.
I have made a skin that goes well with the Touch look and would like to share it.

Thanks. Btw, it's also possible to create a skin with bigger tiles like the original TouchCube style. You can use any size for the menu entries you like, as long as MortButtons manages to fit at least one entry on the screen...
Nice Mort! I'll try it and give you some feedback
By the way, can I include this on a ROM ?
Thanks for great work, I was using previous version and this is even better. Keep it this way.

Nice one, tough the alpha layer isn't very obvious.
Little hint: Zip only the folder contents itself (i.e. no subfolder in the archive), then change the file extension from .zip to .mbz. Having to copy only a single file makes skin installation a bit more easy for beginners. And it saves some space, though usually more by better cluster usage than by compression (most images already are compressed...).

Very nice update, the launch time seems to be much less. There does seem to be a bit of a memory leak? But not sure how to pinpoint if its cuz of MortButtons or something else. Nevertheless, it is a very nice, free, and actually more powerful alternative to other touch/launcher kinda applications.
Also a fan of MortScript (for small, useful tasks) and MortPlayer (THE audio player for winmobile ). Do you have a smartphone version of MortPlayer planned?
VGA & icons pixelization
Hi,
I just tried on my VGA PDA (Dell Axim X51v), and application icons which are VGA-enabled, appear pixelized in MortButton. Any idea on what I did wrong?
Great work Mort. I've been using mort buttons since about the day after I got my vario II 16 months ago. It was the ideal solution to the missing capabilities I had always presumed a touch screen device would come with by default!
I much prefer it to all of these today screen launchers as these seem to slow down the phone and generally use smaller, less usable buttons for my sausage fingers!
One thing I've noticed though, the new built in shortcuts to the control panel options don't seem quite right. e.g. I've added a shortcut to the Memory control panel on a menu. Having launched the Memory panel, the only way to close it is by pressing the 'ok' button on the top right of the screen - neither OK button works....
Alternatively, if I add a .lnk shortcut which starts the memory panel (with the shortcut "Settings>System>Memory>Main = 20#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,4") the panel launches fine and can be closed with the OK buttons no problem.
The same goes for Input, Phone, Today panel shortcuts...
I was wondering if MortButtons is not closing properly after launching these settings links?
Apart from this quibble, a great update. Keep up the good work - I'd have binned this phone long ago if it wasn't for this App!!
MortButton and FTouchFlo
Thanks Mort for a great app. I was wondering what is the command line to launch each of the buttons. I was trying to use this in conjunction with efrost's FTouchFlo app where I assigned a gesture like leftright app to launch button 1 by putting the path "\Program Files\MortButtons\Button1.mbi" but that did not launch button1 when gesturing. Would you happen to have a solution?

I experienced the same. But if you link to the 'Button.exe'. It will bring you to the main menu where you can see the 5 buttons. While this is one more step extra, better than nothing.
^ What you guys are trying to do works fine here.
For e.g. go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MortButtons and see how the shortcut for button 1 is created (if you have a good file explorer such as gsfinder you can see the shortcut as well as the command line parameter).
Basically the shortcut should point to \Program Files\MortButtons\MBRunner.exe and the command line parameter should be \Program Files\MortButtons\<path_to_button>.mbi. Both of these paths should be put in Ftouchflo config without quotation marks around. This makes for a much faster, customizable and full featured launcher than the cubes.
Thanks. That did the trick!

Once again for dummies. You mean:
LeftRightApp:\Program Files\MortButtons\MBRunner.exe
LeftRightAppCmdLine:\Program Files\MortButtons\Program Files\MortButtons\Button3.mbi?
I tried:
LeftRightApp:\Program Files\MortButtons\MBRunner.exe
LeftRightAppCmdLine:\Program Files\MortButtons\Button3.mbi
but it didn't work, it shows an empty "MortButton" window.
Maybe you need to use quotes around the parameter (i.e. mbi file). Otherwise it might be MortButtons tries to load "\Program" as menu informations, which doesn't quite work...
The exact method that you've listed works for me. Are you using the latest version of ftouchflo? I remember one of the versions had a bug in the leftright swipe..
Where can I find soft-reset function and it's Icon so that I can put it on the Mortbutton. Annoying each time wanna do soft reset have to tuck the stylus in the hole.
The final version is out and it doesn't work with the 96 DPI on the athena. The tabs are missing in the settings list, which isn't a problem but the tabs have no icons on the home screen. This program looks really useful and I am hoping we can find a way to make it work.

Good find however I believe he is ignoring the problems with the 96 DPI. Look at his screen shot the list of tabs are missing. And he has no screen shots of the home plugin, which I thought was a big feature of this application.

I agree. It is completely useless. It is impossible to get the tabs working or showing anything meaningful and impossible to get the other menus to stay on the homepage. I would steer clear.
No joy here either with 2.0. No tabs. Today screen plugin is totally useless without them.
Too bad, there are some pieces of it I like!
I saw this posted in the development forum: Password for dat files that are really zip files: b0fm18zq Maybe this will help make the icons show up on the tabs...
Their forums also note that they don;t support RealVGA - that could be the problem (and if it is, that is really shortsighted on their part)...
same problem here,
mobile shell works fine with RealVGA and the 192 dpi setting
but is pretty useless with 92 or 128 dpi activated.
besides the today plugin not working:
in the spb menu (right softkey by default) the icons of all my custom programs look totally crappy, and next to each icon half of the icon of another program is visible.
I have the same issues, except that on my today screen, there are three other icons appearing next to all the icons.
I don't like having so many gestures to go access my applications. Currently my setup is far better than spb mobile. This is what I have:
1.I have date and time on the task bar so what I can see it everywhere. In addition, I have the big clock on my today screen provided by spb time. This lets be have fuller function than spb mobile.
2. I have spb phone suite on my today screen. This is better than what spb mobile offers because in addition to what spb mobile offers, I also havethe ability to switch on/off bluetooth, wifi etc.
3. I use SBSH weather watch today plugin, which of better than spb mobile's weather program because it shows more info, occupies less space, and has much more comprehensive weather stations for smaller towns.
4. I use ilauncher to launch programs. It is much easier and effortsless to configure and customise the icons for all dpi. I also get the safe mode reset capability.
5. I use today agenda to show my calendar and tasklist on my today screen. This is better than pocket informant IMHO because each item takes only one line, so more items could be shown on less space on today screen.
All items are visible at once on my today screen, without any need to swipe any fingers, which is a fun thing to do for just the first few seconds, but is really annoying after that for me.
Don't know, but even i don't like the way it behaves.
Its quite jerky when it does the so called "Animation" when you open contacts or any sub screen.
Its far better to use spb pocket plus or even resco today plugin and get the basic things you need right on your today screen.
Though, its something good to play around for a few days ... but then eventually it boils down to performance. It the device is not snappy, no matter what you do, it will not satisfy ...
Let's give 'em a call!

Has anybody tried to contact SPB Softwarehouse and gave them a version of the TrueVGA to test it with their software? I would think we are a large community with a voice!
Overview
From the creator of TouchFlo Detacher comes Mobile Shell 3 Toggler! This is a sister app (at least in spirit) to TFD.
MS3T allows you to quickly and easily switch between the classic Today screen and SPB Mobile Shell 3 by using shortcuts which can be assigned to hardware buttons, links in MS3 itself, etc.
Tip Jar
Like this app? Want more like it or quicker updates? Tip a buck (or Euro or Pound or whatever) or two to help the author out! Click here to make a safe donation via PayPal.
CodePlex
Mobile Shell 3 Toggler is hosted on CodePlex: http://ms3t.codeplex.com/
Current features
MS3T adds the following links into the Mobile Shell folder in your Programs folder.
[Close Spb Mobile Shell] - Kill the MobileShell.exe process
[Hide Spb Mobile Shell] - Show the classic Today screen
[Show Spb Mobile Shell] - Show Mobile Shell 3
[Toggle Spb Mobile Shell] - Show Today if MS3 is visible; Show MS3 if Today is visible
[SmartToggle Spb Mobile Shell] - Similar to Toggle, but it will only toggle if you are already on the Now or Today screen. If you are in another app, it returns to the Now or Today screen. That's what makes it smart.
Limitations
- If you try to assign SmartToggle to the HTC Home button (using AE Button Plus, for example) on your HTC device, it will only work as a regular Toggle. The reason is that the home button always returns to the Today screen (or Now screen) BEFORE AE is able to tell SmartToggle to run. So, SmartToggle sees that you are currently on the Today screen and will toggle accordingly. The same problem will probably also exist with any other similar type of button on other manufacturer's devices.
- On MS3 version 3.5, MS3T may not work when combined with Second Today to give you MS3, TF3D, and Today simultaneously.
How it Works
I wanted to briefly explain how MS3T works for anybody else interested in extending this idea in other (hopefully free) apps.
Mobile Shell 3 has a window using the class SpbNow_MainWindow. This window is a part of the MobileShell.exe process. If you send a particular message to this window, it will tell Mobile Shell 3 to hide or show. This is how the links inside MS3 and the "Spb Home" link on the Today screen work. I imagine there are probably many other messages that may control some pretty cool things, but I haven't explored too deeply. I was only interested in the show/hide messages. I discovered this by using DotFred's Task Manager and analyzing all the window messages going to the various windows owned by MobileShell.exe. I noticed two non-standard messages whenever I showed or hid MS3. Then I sent those messages from my app and, voila! It worked! MS3T was born. Interesting side note: the window that all the MS3 graphics are drawn onto has the window class "Manila" just like TouchFlo. That probably would get confusing if you are running both at the same time. lol.
Action, Message, WPARAM, LPARAM:
Hide MS3, 0x82BC, 1, 0
Show MS3, 0x8258, 1, 0
Another message, 0xC005, seems to happen very regularly when using MS3. I think it might be "refresh screen" but I'm not sure. WPARAM and LPARAM are both 0 in this case.
AFTER UPGRADING MOBILE SHELL VERSION
If you upgrade Mobile Shell 3 to a newer version (for example, from 3.0.1 to 3.5), you should reinstall Mobile Shell 3 Toggler. The reason is that MS3T installs its shortcuts into the Mobile Shell 3 folder and the upgrade can mess them up.

Do you mean WM5? give it a try. I wasn't sure because I developed the app in Studio 2008 and targetted my device (WM6.1) but if it works, let me know and I'll update the top post.
How it works
Added an explanation of how MS3T works to the top post. I'm hoping this might inspire others to dig into MS3's window messages and find some other cool things we can do with it.
Work on WM 6.1 on a Palm Treo Pro?
Since the Palm Treo Pro (running WM 6.1) was made by HTC, I never know whether or not the software here on this site will work on it. Will it?
Palm Treo Pro
Of course it will!
Why do you think it shouldn't work?
The important thing is usually the OS, not the exact device (unless it's something specific like TouchFlo3D which you probably don't have...)
(I want a Treo Pro as well... )
Where do you go to assign the hardware key for this program?

Why would I think it would not work? I don't know why some of the software wants me to pick between QVGA or some other resolution. At times, the 320 x 320 is a problem, as the software is too big (or too small) for the screen.
I am soooooooo glad that I found Mobile Shell (and really like their version 3), as I moved from a Palm OS to WM---ycch! Like my Treo Pro (unlocked GSM on T-mobile network), so you can't have it Until they come out with the Palm Pre in an unlocked GSM with the WebOS. Yummmm...... Then we can talk!

MobileShell 3 Toggler relies on other apps (or the OS itself) to map its functions to keys. The first place to look is under Settings then Buttons. If you are using a newer HTC device, that's usually a pretty sparse menu. lol. I personally use AE Button Plus to remap buttons to functions. If you use AE, buy it! The author doesn't get enough monetary love for such a freaking awesome app.

Smart Toggle Issue?
Thank you for this (and highlighting it to me from Spb forum). I find the toggle works exactly as designed on my Kaiser - but I am not sure that the smart toggle is correct for me.
It will not at all cycle between the 2 home screens. The behaviour I see is that whenever I press this Smart Toggle (assigned to a physical button) I am taken to the HTC Manilla Home: from within Manilla anywhere else, and also from anywhere in Spb Mobile Shell.
BTW - I am using the Kaiser ROM PDA Corner Xv3 and the latest Spb MS3 (3.0.1 Beta 1 (build 6456))
PS - have you considered a three-way toggler to cycle between Spb Home, Manilla Home and the Today screen? This would merge your Touch Flow Detacher and Mobile Shell Toggler efforts and seems a logical next step unless a problem.
Regards
First, toggling between the three would be cool, but I just don't have time to work on it. All the source code is available for both projects. If somebody implements this, just give me a little credit! I won't say "no" but I have no plans right now. As much eye candy as TouchFlo 3D was, it just wasn't that useful to me. I find MS3 incredibly useful, even if it's not quite as much eye candy as TouchFlo. So I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use TouchFlo anymore. But never say never!
The problem you are facing with Smart Toggle is likely because MS3T doesn't know to look for TouchFlo as the top window. It only looks for the "classic" Today screen. I can add a feature to consider the TouchFlo screen the "Today" screen. That should fix it.

tf3d not loading
I'm running wm6.1 / Arrupenthals rom latest V5.9 with SPB 3.0 . After installing I can toggle to Today screen but even though I have TF3D checked in today settings it will not load when it switches from spb to tf3d. It jsut hangs on the HTC icon and tf3d does not load. any ideas?
ps - if I stop spb (shut down- kill program) tf3d loads.

Many thanks for the MS3 toggler. I also use your TouchFLO Detacher.
I am also interested in the "feature to consider the TouchFlo screen as the "Today" screen".
Hope we can have this brilliant feature soon.
Thanks again.
okay, so i have downloaded the file, copied into my touch hd, and installed it. and.. whats next? it just says everything installed successfully but whats next? how do I set or toggle the screen? sorry for noob question.
Working great on my Kaiser with MS 3 beta 3, PP+. Smart Toggle great. If it does not have any issue in the next few days, I will contribute. That was my biggest issue with MS 3 (Although I liked that I could get to phone contacts from anywhere just doing the "L" swipe in MS 2 - actually only thing I used in MS2 -... but nothing is perfect), new "show today" widget is an advancement from SPB, but your solution is the best for hardware buttoned phones as the kaiser.
Working great. Made MS 3 perfect. Dropped you a beer, thanks.
