Hi all,
I try to connect my Xda 2 with PC but I getting sync problemss,
I have Microsoft activsync version 4.5 and I getting following message.
“Cannot verify the version of Activesync on your device, a program such as firewall may b blocking a port activesync uses to connect to device, or you may need to upgrade to more recent version of activesync on your pc”
I uninstalled and downloaded version 4.2 and then getting message only “ Microsoft activesync version is not appropriate with my device”

Try a SoftRest on your XDA

What Version of ActiveSync do you use?
I think PPC2003 needs a Version 3.7 or above.
Greetings, Kaputter
i have 3.7.1 the new version
1- Are you using a USB hub or direct connect?
2- Do you have the latest USB drivers intalled in your machine? ( You can check through control pannel or try a "windows update".
If you tried these and they failed, go to :
http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/t-shootactivesync.htm
He has a lot of experience with Active Sync
I have a problem with synchronising with 2nd PC. I upgraded my machine with the WM2003SE ROM DCS provided. The synchronisation was fine with my PC at home, but the problem arose when I tried to synchronise the machine with my office PC.
The pop up windows says the version is incompatible. The Activesync version is 3.71 something.
Is there anyway to fix it? I did not upgrade my home PC.
Thank you.
BT activesync ? XP SP2 ?

The problem is with IR synchronisation
I don't have bluetooth in my office PC. There is pup-up window in my mobile device asking for 'update activesync of your desktop PC'

The ActiveSync is show this erro: Support Code:85020010
The ActiveSync Also asks to verify the connection, however as the xda works ok with another PC XP and with GPRS I do not know what to do.
try the fireall setting
try to see if in that pc the firewall settings are permisive
that problably a firewall prob but....
do you have outlook 2003 instaled in that machine also try to connect with it already open that solved my problem once and i have to open it first since
as a last resort do a new partnership
do like this on that machine thats not working
disable firewall
remove all mobile devices in file->delete mobile devices
open task manager and end process wcescomm.exe and wcesmgr.exe
them open device manager
look in usb ports
connect your device and when a usb device appears remove it (problably windows mobile device but you will see it )
remove the device and restart the pc
when restarted open outlook just in case
activesync will autostart
put you device in and create a patnership
this was what i had to do whem first instaled buzzmobile2005
hope this help you too if it doesnt

Thank for trying to help I already had looked at the notations on the ActiveSinc I have the impression that the problem is a DLL in the XP the solution perhaps is to reinstall everything again.
Curiosity: What it means NSPS in your ExtRom topic

seach in the forum if none o what i sad worked there is some dlls i see somewhere you can remove and reinstall.

After upgrading my Qtek 2020 to WM5 I got the message:
Found new hardware Windows Moile-based device.
I have installed ActiveSync 4.0, but no difference.
So by not finding the new hardware Activesync doesn't work.
Anyone know how to solf this problem?
You could read the forum and the info on http://www.buzzdev.net... then you would know the known problems of activesync 4... for instance you need service pack 2 installed
SP2 is installed, Activesync on other PC works, but when I try to install for example TomTom5 or TomTom3 it gives an error:
TomTom Setup Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Every install I make I get this error. Exploring the PDA with Activesync works fine.
Hi Guys,
I have an O2 ATOM Exec which was fine initially. I bought a new notebook with Windows VISTA and now I'm having troubling syncing. I have downloaded the latest Windows Mobile Device Centre and notebook is fully up to date. When I attach the USB cable windows finds the new device. I ask it to search for the driver but it cant find the device driver.
Can somebody please help me?
Thanks heaps from now.
Hi again,
Can someone please help me. Do I need to download a device driver? the OS cant seem to recognise the device. It says unable to find device driver for Windows CE USB Device.
I would really appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction.
I have the same problem. Who knows please tell me. thank
Have you all try calling Microsoft or O2?
Goto http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx
Select the following according to you OS.
Synchronize with your PC
•For Windows XP or earlier:
Download ActiveSync 4.5
•For Windows Vista:
Visit the Windows Mobile Device Center
>_> I think your only recourse is to VM WinXP and Async from there (I don't know if this is possible, but you can try). IIRC Vista has problems syncing to older devices. <_<
