UnBrick the Bricked Hermes with "SPL 2.03 - IPL 1.04 - NO GSM - KITL Disabled"
There are many people have this kind of brick but still no solution for it.
I want to ask the mods to make this thread sticky so if anyone find a sulotion for this type of brick would post it Here.
Summary :
IPL: 1.04
SPL: 2.03
CID: NO CID (Request timeout on mtty.exe)
NO GSM
KITL Disabled
I have tested all the possible sulotions available in the wiki but none of the could help me unbrick my hermes.
P.S. : Please just post your sulotions here NOT your comments like "you should superCID your device first", "It's your fault to use telstra wm6",....
Has anyone found a sulotion for this???

I have read all the wiki and thread concerning my problem several times!
The simple truth is that some phones are unrecoverable and have to be sent off for repair. Yours is one of these situations and I very much doubt that this will change. More and more of the pioneering technical guys will have updated their Hermes to another phone and the much admired POF has not been seen since he was accused of stealing...
The tacit feeling is that there is enough information and utilities to prevent people bricking their phones (i.e HardSPL and Update from MicroSD card) so if you do find yourself in this unfortunate position and can not recover your phone then you have to bite the bullet, and be better informed the next time.

I dunno if I have a the same problem, but a similar issue, and trust me I am "PC guys, AMD fanboy, A+ tech:"whatever you wanna call i, I am expanding my horizons and I got into the mobile PC world. Trust me I am NOT Google lazy, i have read and read and read and researched and cross-checked and tried literally everything. I am stuck, I know what is wrong with my Hermes, I know where it messes up, and I DO see threads in other sites with 99.9% the same problem I have and I see NO soultion or anyone who knows or Really wants to help, I feel for Koorosh we need help, I have come to terms if have to send it away to repair. That bugs me I got it Literally 3 days ago, and ONLY used the OFFICAL AT&T WM6 Rom to upgrade

i also had the same problem.i have resolved using rom update through memory card.look for it in wike section.all the best.try it with original rom that came with the phone.

Do you know to read micro sd flash not work when device is not superCID!!!
I maybe have the same issue.
From the HTC ROM I flashed my device to Shannix Grass rom, a few days later I flashed to Satin Black rom, so far so good. After that I want to flash back to Shannix Grass and my deviced crashed. While booting he stuck at the HTC screen.
I tried to hard reset, flash another rom (stuck and reset at 1%), flash the bootloader (stuck and reset at 7%). After the failed ROM flashing I get error 270 image is corrupted.
In mtty I tried to format the NAND, and tried the erase command, nothing worked.
How can I diagnose the problem further. Is it possible to see why the ROM update failed or why the OS won't boot? I did some monitoring with USB monitor but I didn't get results where I get some conclusions of.

SOLVED !!!!!!!! my phone now works
If your device became inoperable like mine, because i had a failed ROM upgrade,and the device failed to power up i have good news for ya.
MY DEVICE info is as below.
Problem:
Phone does not boot up, and looks like a red brick.
IPL: 1.04
SPL: 2.03
(it always gave an error 206 at 1% of any ROM update i tried)
Solution:
I downloaded the official WM6 ROM from the HTC's website below,
http://www.america.htc.com/support/8525/software-downloads.html
Then reset my device to the bootloader screen.
(holding the 'ok' button and the 'power' button and then using my stylus to push the 'reset' button close to the USB port.
i then disconnect the USB cable from my phone, and the display showed 'serial'.
i then ran the downloaded file, and waited till the collecting information from phone window came up, then i connected the usb cable back to the phone.
it connected, and VOALLA!!!... it started the update.
at least its better to have a working phone(without all the custom stuff), than none.
I hope this was not booring( with all the detail and all), but i hope it will help anyone out there who's device wont bootup.

Well.. i can't say you should wait 1 or 2 seconds, but just plug it in as soon as you get that screen. i hope it works for you tooo.
what was ur exact situation beforeu can unbrick ur phone???

My Hermes "red hot brick" happened when i tried upgrading to aCRCs_PHKv12r8, from a Schaps_WM6Pro_Hermes_4.31_WWE_Full ROM.
My device is a Cingulat 8525.
The upgrade went to the tricolor screen, and after 1% , my phone magically went off. I tried powering on, but it went to the tricolor screen again showing
IPL 1.04
SPL 2.03
and underneath showed "serial".

-- Sync your device with computer and open the file u download it called HardSpl you will find two files one one foe G3 and G4 open your kind then you'll find a file called (( hardspl.bat )) okay, be sure your device is connected to computer then open the file and follow instruction and it will reset your device ,
now u ready to change rom.

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

Can it enter bootloader at all?
If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....
when I tried with the guy and a new battery it was blocked on the bootloader, but don't remember the IPL and SPL...sorry
I may be right about the battery onnectors though, but the problems seem to be from the phone connectors or the battery it self???

If it can enter bootloader, it is almost certainly your battery at fault!
Ok so i burnt my battery during the upgrade...
But why is it still blocking at 95% when he tried to put a rom?
With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...
I really do not know what to do...

Can anyone please post a guide on how to flash Hard-SPL onto my HTC TYTN.
The guide for installing Hard-SPL onto the HERMES is not available anymore, and i am EXTREMELY confused about what im doing, and i am afraid i will brick my phone if i do something wrong.

It really isn't hard to do. But be sure you know what you are doing btw. SO read the sticky!
Basically you just download the flavor of Hard SPL you want (I used 2.10 which I can recommend, very easy to downgrade to factory SPL again as I just learned!).
After download unzip the folder and run the RUUWrapper. Follow instructions exactly, do nout unplug your device etc. and it should work like a charm. It takes about 1 minute!
If you don't know what you are doing or you are still doubting, wait for Mr Vanx site to come online again or don't flash. There is always a risk you screw up and end with a $500 brick.
So use at your own risk!

hi guys have tried to update mine today on a jasjam it connects sys it updating but starts at 0% then just jumps to 100% and says flash finished but when i restart the phone it still has the same loader what am i doing wrong i want to update it from windows 5 to windows 6 using crc-9 but don't want to update till i do the loader any help from you guys would be great

start the device in bootloader, what is displayed?
Mine is doing the exact same thing. Starts at 0% and jumps to 100% and says it is done, but it has done nothing.

the SPL flash is VERY quick.
I'll ask YOU this aswell, put your device into bootloader mode and tell us what it says.

I appreciate your reply Mr. Vanx. Same as with puca, I put my phone into the bootloader mode and it does indeed show the correct 2.10 Olipro version. This is the 3rd 8525 I have had and I could have SWORN it took much longer on the first 2. Even the update from WM5 to WM6 seemed to take much less time with this particular phone. Guess I shouldn't really complain
Downgrade Error 260
Hi Mr Vanx I have followed your guide to downgrade my current SSPL (2.10 Olipro) to SSPL (1.11). But I keep getting error 260. I have followed guide step by step.
I have even tried flashing from SD-Card (by renaming to HERMING.nbh). Process runs successfully, but nothing happens.
Its still showing SSPL-2.10 Olipro in bootloader. Am I missing anything?

can some one point me to the guide. I am facing a NO GSM problem on vodafone VPA 1605 with following config:
ROM Version: 1.20.161.6
Radio: 1.03.06.00
CID: VODAP001
Bootloader: 1.04
I do not see the radio version or the IMEI. So I would like to do a HARDSPLv7 followed by Radio ROM update to 1.06.00.10. I hope this will work. Seniors may help with their sggestion.

I have an I-mate 9502 but my problem is for pocket pc generaly.
I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

I have HT7 Phone it bricks during upgrading the SPL because it had WM5 and I went to install WM6
I can boot the Phone in Recovery Mode ( Holding the Camera Button and Boot ). Three Color Screen and I can communicate with the phone through the MTTY but during installing the Update it says ERROR 300
is there anyway to get the phone alive again ?

PS : Phone is out of warranty and there is no service center here , also I can't use the JTAG Method
jafer mainly error 300 comes in when you are using wrong rom update utility... atleast in my case...after running spl pgm from phone and mtty program make sure you run the rom update utility inside the spl folder before running the rom update utility inside the rom folder... hope this helps.. and make sure that the rom is for old gene...

The Phone is HT7 , during the upgrade it bricks , I used the " Orefkov " but it seems it only works for new Phones
Anyway by no I can Boot the Phone in Tri Color Mode but when i try to upgrade a rom it says ERORR 300
is there any way to BOOT the Phone through the SD Card ? I already had the same issue with another phone , I boot the phone with SDCard and it became alive again !!

try removing the SD card and update the ROM. BTW as far as i know oref Is for new Gene. post a query on the right thread and ankit or krazy or any proficient member will definitely help you out. or you may pm basha for help.

If format fails it is hopeless.
If format goes well and works take the original Aku3 ROM and flash it. The device will work again.

I have a problem with my Charmer - I was flashing it, when I didn't read any instructions and I failed it. Some month ago I came back to Charmer and I repaired it with the "Rescue Kit" and it worked some time. But now even if I flash it with any ROM, my PC write "Congratulation", Charmer turns on but stuck in the splash screen and It's all... when I go to bootloader, it goes and write the IPL and SPL, but when I do Hard reser, it writes "Formad failed", but It can be flash!!! With any ROMs... Please, help me, I like this phone...

As you can see mostly it is hopeless.Rarely rehotting DOC chip can help and I read somewhere that sometimes flashing helped,but that was a desperated try with Prophet ROM or something like that.If I was you I could try to flash it with Goldcard (just from curiousity and nothing to lose),but if ChrBeck can't help then who?

Then the Prophet thing works. That is what I found out.
The heating up thing is a mith. It helped only 1 time and is not the best you can do.
And Goldcard is the biggest SH*T I ever heared.
For devices without reachable OEMSPL something like a Goldcard doesn't exist. Goldcard just flashs with SuperCID and without Signature checking. It is like using a HardSPL and won't help.
That is all I know.
Get a good working AKU1 and I'll build you the solution (if my idea is realy right).

Just a few things:
I'm in searching for an AKU1 ROM.I had it on my computer years ago,but it lost when my HDD damaged.If I find it,I will upload it for you.
The heating up:in this case probably it doesn't help.When we have a device that can't be flashed properly,we try this and it helps more often than you think.Not only with PDAs,but with phones too.

I know what is Goldcard about.
The reason I mentioned it,it helped me 3-4 times when the device (not only Charmer,other devices too) stuck on bootloader or splash screen after flashing.I didn't have too much time in the workshop,so I tried this and worked.
I don't want to argue with you,I know you are an expert in this,I just tried to help with my experiencies.

And yes you are right sometimes Goldcard helps if you have forgotten to flash HardSPL or it is damaged then it may help but you need to have acces to OEMSPL and we don't have it.
So hope I can do something soon.

I have a Charmer with IPL,SPL 3.08.Unfortunately it is CID locked,so I can flash it with official v3 ROMs only.Is there any solution to downgrade it?Or with JTAG only?

I tried that,but:
1.flashing is successful,but nothing has changed,I get the old OS after upgrade
2.I tried the v1 ROM I found.The IPL has been changed to 1.12,but the SPL remained 3.08.The OS has been changed in this case,so it worked flawlessly.
The CID unlocking methods didn't work (obvious,SPL was 3.08).
After that I tried to upgrade it,but it was a torture.I got errors and errors,but after an hour finally I could upgrade it successfully.
So,if you have an idea,I have a device to test it.

The IPL is down means it worked. After that you can flash a Prophet ROM.
What ROM of Prophet?
High, I was today flashing my Charmer with all original ROM I mean and the flashing process behaves OK, after flashing, it writes "Congratulation" and all the things like OS, Radio, IPL... are change to the definite ROM. But it's all. It will stuck in the splash screen... I have read in this thread something about Prophet ROM. What is it?
The prohpet ROM is an official Prophet AKU 2 flashable after downgrade.
System is as follows:
Fist flash the Charmer AKU1
Then flash a Prophet AKU2
Then flash Charmer Aku3.
You need to do all these steps with the NOID RUU.
That should fix the HardReset failing.
I'm working to get a tool running that does the whole thing automatically.

How have you gotten the SPL down?
Normally, with flashing... It can be flashed with every ROM...
OK. Cause normally SPL stays up. I never saw a full downgrade.
