I have Imate JasJam and I installed this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412895
my phone worked fine for a week but since yesterday I am facing this weird problem, my phone gets stuck and when I do a soft reset, the phone actually gets a hard reset every time.
what is the problem,
well after a hard reset I connected it to pc on active sync and it is working fine till now
ok it worked but I have another problem.
Many times when I reset or turn on the phone, it gets stuck in start and does not load windows, I have to hard reset the device.
What is this problem?
You either need to install a stock ROM before re-installing the ROM you want or you need to check for bad blocks using MTTY.
Do a search to find out about bad blocks...
man I am a total n00b can you please guide me the whole procedure I will be grateful

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick
man I tried to install Hard SPL v7 but it didnt install, it gives this error make sure your device is connected to usb or is on the cradle.
I have the same problem and it is only getting worse
Have checked for bad blocks using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377389&highlight=mtty+wiki and none show up
Have tried jasjam and dopod original roms for Australia with no extra cabs installed but it is just getting worse
Connecting to a computer with active sync seems to make the phone work a bit better but only for a day or two
Cleared memory removed battery several times but device is just becoming more unreliable
Was going to throw against wall but decided to buy a htc fuze INSTEAD
Jasjam may still hit the wall
anyone have any suggestions
Thanks

Right, looking at the ROM sheharyar was using, its a big storage ROM. You need to install a stock rom first, preferably stripped of the radio rom, and go through the complete setup. It seems to stabilize the memory. You can then re-install the big storage ROM. It should now be stable.
If you need to install Hard SPL then go to page 116, post 1160 of the" Hard SPL or how not to brick your Hermes" thread. It gives you instruction on how to install via the sd card method.
After installing Hard SPL you can use the sd card method to install roms. Just drop the steps using sspl.exe. Also use a 2Gb or less sd card formatted FAT32. Watch the spelling of hermimg.nbh as it won't work with mistakes.
Also make sure you have good battery level.
Happy flashing...
Hi, I`m having some serious issues when trying to flash my HERMES. As far as I can tell, it is SIM Unlocked, but not sure if it`s CID unlocked. it`s SPL-1.06, and I can't seem to get it to install HARDSPL. I have tried, and tried and tried and tried. I've tried flashing VIA SD-CARD, but it just says "LOADING" and displays a number at the top, then goes back to the bootloader screen.
When I am flashing via the wizard, it'll go into the bootloader screen, and the wizard will fail saying it cannot connect "CONNECTION ERROR"...
I am at my wits ends, and cannot figure this out for the life of me. I have had 3 TYTN's now, and this one has gotten the better of me. I was able to flash both of my other TYTN's, but unfortunately I got the WSD, and cannot repair them, they are both beyond my technical knowledge of repairs...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help....
Trying so hard to get this done...
Copied the .nbh (ren to hermimg.nbh) to my SDCARD and reset into bootloader, as I said, it just came up "LOADING" then back to bootloader....
I'd rip my hair out if I had any..
any help would be appreciated..
***UPDATE - I don't know what the hell happened, but suddenly, this bugger is letting me flash VIA SD. It's a damned miracle!
Just out of the blue, it asked me to flash via SD in the bootloader. Thank goodness! After 3 hours, I finally got it working..
Cheers all!
if you need more info, just ask, I will provide all I can....

Okay, when you're in the "bootloader" method, have you renamed the file that you're trying to flash "HERMIMG.NBH".
also, try to use the "stripped" AT&T ROM first, see if that'll help correct the issue.
Did you flash that first before you attempted to flash a different ROM on your Hermes? I've read in many different posts that it is highly suggested to flash that first then flash your ROM to your Hermes.
Should always flash via SD-Card, not recommending flashing via USB Wizard.
Try the "stripped" rom first, on a formatted (FAT32) microSD card, and see if that helps.
Cheers
i have download the "stripped" AT&T ROM ,it also the same ,when using USB method ,it stuck at 1% and my devide reboot .
when using SD card method ,it show (loading ...) about 2 second ,then it will back to tri-color mode there .

I had that exact same problem.
I noticed that I hadn't named the file properly.
It's HERMIMG.NBH I kept putting in HERMING.NBH. It's kind of funny, but it's an easy mistake. When you boot with the "HERMIMG.NBH" it should flash. I used the HARDSPL V7, which can be downloaded at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722, which is a "sticky" for this forum. Try flashing that one. Also, double check your .nbh file, make sure it's HERM IMG not HERM ING
That was the problem I was having too, it would just show "LOADING" and a bunch of numbers then drop to the bootloader... Then all of a sudden... "POOF" it worked, after I double checked the file and noticed my spelling error.
Now, if you have that fixed and still getting the error, it might be something else. I'm not sure how to exactly fix that, but as I said, mine was just a minor spelling error.. The exact spelling that I have, don't know if it is case sensitive, is "HERMIMG.nbh"
if it is case sensitive, that could also be a minor issue.
try it, if it works, then bingo, you're back in business, if not, then I'm not sure how else to fix it.
Cheers!

Okay, we're getting there. But still a long way off from it working as it should.
Okay, do you know if your phone is HARDSPL?
If you haven't already HARDSPL your phone, you should download that and try to flash that onto your phone.
Also sounds like it isn't SUPERCID. You'll have to CID unlock your phone, which is a good possibility as to why it isn't accepting other ROMS.
If your phone responds to the flash wizard when you download a ROM then get the SUPERCID and try to flash that one first, then move on to the HARDSPL.
For the SUPERCID, and my previous post has the HARDSPL.
At least the situation is improving, and your phone is starting to respond.
We'll get it working!
The HARDSPL you have to follow most of the "manual" installation instructions, and copy, then rename the "HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh" file.
Try to flash that file, and we'll see if we can get it going.
Cheers
i think my phone not yet HARDSPL ,can you guide me to do this ?
i search the web ,it show me to here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722" izit correct ?
and also superCiD:
1. Unrar RUU_HERM_Unlock_v3a.exe
2. Unrar RUU_Inside.exe
3. Empty (erase the contents) of your microSD card from the Windows Mobile file explorer
or format it from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work).
4. Rename HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh to HERMIMG.nbh and copy it to the FAT32 formatted microSD card.
5. Insert microSD card on your phone
6. Transfer SSPL/SSPL-HERM.exe to your phone and run it
7. Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button.
how i wana do the step 6 ,my phone is stuck now ,i cant log in at all >< ,but i try step 1-5 ,it also shown the 00068002

Attached is the HARDSPL file, already named "HERMIMG.nbh, which you just need to copy onto your SD-CARD.
When those are successful you will be able to flash any rom you want (provided it is as Hermes ROM)....
But as of right now, your phone is NOT bricked. It just currently has no ROM on it.
Have you tried to HARD-RESET your phone?
That's the two soft keys at the bottom of the phone, above the SEND and about the END keys.
Press and hold BOTH of those, then press the "RESET" button on the bottom of the phone. That'll hard-reset the phone.
I'm not saying to do that, just asking if you've tried that option yet.
Good luck, let me know how it's going.
Cheers!

Glad the problem was solved, and very happy to help!
Absolutely I can.
First thing is first, we have to SUPERCID unlock your phone, and we have to HARDSPL your phone.
Run the HARDSPL first, because the wizard will actually temporarily superCID your phone, so that you can install the HARDSPL, which will help prevent you from ever bricking your phone.
with your phone plugged in for activesync, you have to run the "autounlocker.bat" file in the SUPERCID. What this will do is make your phone accept other custom ROMS, whether it is from another carrier, or one of the ROMS that someone has developed on here.
After this, I would highly suggest, that if you ever flash your phone again with another ROM, do it the "SD-CARD" way. I'd only use the wizard to flash the HARDSPL and the SUPERCID.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers!
Hehe ,My friend ,i had flash my phone with WM6.5 rom ,my device was Dopod838pro ,it is old device ,for my opinion WM6.5 not so suitable for my device ,but WM6.5 look amazing >.<

Unfortunately, no, I don't. You'd have to get a Vanilla, or a "lite/ultralite" rom. That's about the best I can suggest, unfortunately with the hermes, it does have a smaller ROM size, and limited RAM compared to the new, more up-to-date modern phones, like the 8925(Kaiser), or the new Tilt 2..

Hope you dont mind me reviving this thread as I also need your help
I tried flashing the MrDSL's WM6.5 ROM to my Hermes. Of course I followed the direction, I have Hard SPL (ever since Schaps rom) and stripped ATT flashed first.
However when I started flashing this rom, when I reached about 5% on the progress bar, I keep on getting Error. I followed the Recovery Steps and luckily I get the Tri-color mode and the process says Recovery successful. I then proceeded with the flashing but still getting errors, then recovery, then continue, then error again. Its been 10th try now.
Finally I canceled the update but I can only get the tri-color screen. Tried to Softreset as well as Hardreset but no go....my screen only gives me the Tri-color mode.
Any advice please....
thank you very much...
EDIT.....
problem solved sorry for that post.
what I did was:
1. flashed again the stripped ATT ROM....success!
2. flashed again MrDSL's WM6.5 titanium ROM (titanium)....success!
Dopod 838 Pro working again!
thanks again!!!
Bootloader shows but phone won't flash
Hey everyone,
I'm not new to
flashing my Hermes.
I'm just having an
issue I've never ran
into and can't figure
out. I would
appreciate some
assistance.
The strangest thing
is happening to me
while attempting to
flash from my
storage card. I put
the phone in
bootloader mode
and it takes
(IPL-1.04 /
SPL-2.10.olipro).
Then on the bottom
Serial shows and it
never goes to the
next step and ask
me do I want to
flash the new image.
I put the att original
on the 2gb storage
card over and over
and over and
renamed it
HERMIMG.nbh over
and over and over
and just am
flabbergasted. The
phone is not bricked,
it just refuses to
flash again.
Does anyone here
have any solutions
or suggestions?
PS - I have
formatted the card
to fat32 and I have
checked it for errors.
The HERMIMG.nbh
file is on the root of
the storage card.
I think I may have bricked my OG HD2 (T8585) while trying to undo everything I had done to it, which was HSPL, MAGLDR and a NAND Android ROM.
It all started when I first tried to flash Kingdom's Sense 3.0 Gingerbread ROM. It told me to create a 340MB partition using HD2 Toolkit which I did. I then flashed the ROM as per the instructions, but it kept getting stuck on the boot logo so I decided to go back all the way to stock WinMo.
I downloaded a stock 1.66 ROM from HTC's website, tried to flash it via USB which failed because I obviously have no ActiveSync in Android. So I loaded the image onto my SD card and tried to flash by holding Vol Down and Power.
That was the first sign of trouble, about 1/10th during upgrade process it gave me some errors and rebooted to a black screen with a silver warning triangle.
Trying to go back into bootloader, I got the message about "upgrade ROM code error."
Since it had reverted back to SPL 1.42 I tried to reflash HSPL2 through USB, which worked fine, got the "We bricked it " message and everything. But then I tried to install MAGLDR and nothing, it fails even though it recognizes the USB connection.
So what can I do? On the one hand my device can accept and load HSPL2 and my computer is recogonizing the USB connection, but other than that nothing, it won't even turn on without being connected to external or USB power.
I also tried installing stock 1.43 ROM and that goes fine, it gives me an okay on everything but it gets stuck in the white HTC bootscreen in a loop.
I know I probably made a huge glaring mistaking to cause this, it's probably because I've bought a Transformer tablet and a Galaxy S2 in the last month so the steps regarding the HD2 were probably a bit of a blur. I guess the stock ROM probably included a radio that I wasn't supposed to flash, causing my device to be bricked.
But is there anyway I can get some type of OS working on this poor HD2 now?
She lives!!!
Okay, I'm not actually sure if the problem is solved but I'm back in WinMo 6.5 for the time being.
Since it had been off for a few hours I tried my luck again, plugged it into the wall and saw that it was stuck in the boot loop again. But I got distracted and left it, and when I came back it was on the orange WinMo setup screen.
Not sure what happened to make it go from not even getting power from the battery to working normally. But I see now my radio version is 2.05 which is massively old, I'm going to try and upgrade that first and see... hopefully it won't go back to being dead the moment I power down.

I had pretty much the same problem as you, but mine is the tmobile us version. I tried flashing back winmo from android via sdcard method but i got an upgrade error. I tried flashing with microSD card sizes 8gb, 16,gb, and then 2gb which was recommended, but still no luck. I managed to connect the hd2 through usb on the tricolor screen and flashed back to hspl2.08 and magldr and cwm were still on. But i would like to still get back to winmo stock as if it came from tmobile.
My question is if i download the latest update from tmobile which is T-Mobile HD2 MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1), what is the correct spl i should have installed on the hd2 so that htc and tmobile wont know that i messed with the spl? is it 3.03? I was going to connect via USB on the tri color screen again, run the EXE and manually install the SPL? I just need to know which SPL to install after i run the latest winmo update. Please advise on the SPL and the method i'm going to take on reverting back to winmo. Thanks.

So it sounds like you lucked out, huh? So your HD2 works at least? I believe if you succesfully flash an official ROM like from T-Mobile, it will replace everything including the SPL back to stock - this is what I was trying to do by flashing official 1.43, to go back to factory mode.
I seem to be worse off than you though. I posted last night how my HD2 was back up running WinMo, but as suspected the moment I rebooted it was back stuck in the boot loop.
Any ideas? I wish I could get the HD2 working again so I could set it aside and get to playing with my new Galaxy S2.
This is driving me crazy now...
I managed to flash HSPL 2.08, and then MAGLDR 1.3, and then CWM recovery on top.
But this still seems bricked to me, still needs external power to turn on and I can't actually flash a working ROM... flashing a ROM via USB gives connection error and flashing via SD card goes fine but gets stuck in a boot loop.
What can I do at this point short of tossing the phone? I've tried stock 1.48, stock 1.66, a bunch of radios from 2.05 to 2.15... everything.
I am doing some research but the only results I find are T-Mo HD2s being bricked by the wrong radio. I have an original HD2 and I never flashed a radio intended for another HD2 model, so how is my phone so bricked all of a sudden?
All the threads I've found say if you can get into the bootloader then there's some hope but I doubt it because I can't successfully flash anything with it. I don't even know how I managed to get back into WinMo briefly last night... think my HD2 is probably just toast.
Okay, I finally solved my problems for sure - bent charging leads in the battery compartment!
Anyone having boot issues, take out your battery and look at the metal leads and you will probably find them bent out of shape. They are incredibly flexible, so just make them straight again and it will work. I assume it cuts external power briefly right before booting into WinMo, which is why it was rebooting constantly.
So I suppose for me this was a huge case of confusion, I got all confused with bootloaders and MAGLDRs when the problem wasn't even software related.

The problem with my hd2 is the CPU is overheating thus causing it to freeze or lock up, and gets it annoying. After hours of searching on XDA, that's what seems to be the problem. I can't even talk on the phone for more than ten minutes or else locks up. So my idea was to get it back to winmo stock and see if it still locks up. If it does then i will probably try to send it back to HTC and see if they send another one maybe or fix it.
Ive had no luck luck flashing back to winmo from sdcard so i think i should try flashing back to winmo via usb on the tri color screen. Ive read on XDA that if you flash winmo via usb that it doesn't replace your SPL, and you have to run HSPL4 and flash it manually. I'm just not sure which SPL i should flash. I'm assuming 3.03 maybe?
What you could try is using an sdcard that is 2gb or less. Ive read that anything higher than 2gb will cause issues. I'm still a noobie at this rooting biz. Hope that helps.

Which model HD2 do you have?
Find and download the stock ROM from this thread, get 1.66 since it will work with HSPL2 which is the latest HSPL that will work with MAGLDR (for Android and WinPhone7).
You can flash that through SD card and it will go back to total stock, including stock SPL. I assume you know how to pull the .nbh file from the ROM you download, so just rename to LEOIMG.nbh and put it on your SD card.
Go into the tri-color screen and it should flash fine and give you factory reset. This is where it wasn't working for me, but not because I had flashed the wrong ROM or something but because I had messed up the charging leads in the back while popping the battery in and out to reboot as I was flashing.
Man I downloaded 1.66 last nite and tried to flash back to winmo from android and its toast. Not sure what went wrong. Oh well.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
