Hi all,
I've been using Erofich's WM6.1 Standard rom for some time now and decided to try WM6.1 Pro having used it briefly in the past. Anyway, long story short - I flashed following the usual procedure using img-93233-RUU_STAR100_WM61PRO_V2.exe and the process failed around 40%
No big deal I think, re-flash and go again, however, the device now boots to the tricolor boot loader screen and I can't progress any further.
I've tried flashing from, WM6.1 Standard Erofich & a stock rom I have lying about (RUU_STAR100_3.6.251.0_02.67.30_QtekEUR_Ship.exe) but both timeout with the error 260, device couldn't be found.
I've also tried flashing from my FAT32 formatted SD card using the stock rom named as STARIMG.nbh and the WM6.1 Standard Erofich out of desperation.
Is this thing goosed?

Thanks for looking at this thread Erofich, I downloaded several different versions of mtty but all those with a USB option in the menu simply state "USB port can not open"
I heard mention that v1.46 works a little better but can't find it anywhere.
I've rebooted the PC & phone, disabled ActiveSync USB connections etc.
I see the USB display in the boot loader toggle on/off when I connect/disconnect from my XP box, but no sign of anything in Device manager
Not looking so hot I think?

OK, I think this is my **** up, I pulled down the iMate shipped WWE rom and dropped that on the SD card and it find's it first time. This could mean one of 2 things I think
1: I'm an idiot for using the QTEK stock rom not the IMATE rom on my iMate device
2: Placing the battery cover held the SD card in tighter??!
Upshot is, I'm running again - do I try the Pro or stick with Standard?! I'll let you know how it pans out
Thanks for your help
I've since re-flashed to WM6.1 Pro V2 and everything went fine. I'm not sure what happened to the first attempt & can only assume I cocked up attempting to flash from SD card first couple of times round.
Loving the work on Pro by the way Erofich
I have got an spv m3100. I have allready upgrade it to wm6 with your help. It has been working fine for over a year now but last knight it gave me a lot of problems so i decided to flash it again. I am tring to connect the ppc to the pc with active sync but it doesnt. I have tryed it to 3 - 4 pcs but no luck and there for i cannot flash it. I also did a hard reset it reboted install all its programs by it self but it still doesnt connect to the active sync.
Any help how to flash it from the biginig pls ??
Thanks in advance
Succeded
Sorry to bug you before guys i have succeded to flash it and its all fine all i needed it it was to connect once .
Now if its posible i want to know if there is any article to read about the battery or any soft about it
Thnks again
Mate, install Hard SPL V7 (if you haven't already ) and use the sd card method to install roms...
Go to page 116 post 1160 of this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
for the sd card method to install Hard SPl. To use the sd card method to install a ROM, drop the steps with sspl.exe in them - I believe its steps 5 & 6.
Make sure the sd card is 2 Gb or less, formatted FAT32 and the .nbh file is named hermimg.nbh.
Cheers...
Hi mate
Ok after i flashed in the morning it started working fine for a period of time and then it started the moves again. What it actually does is that the phone is not working the device boots ok with the programs but the phone is not working at all and if it does whene i try to make a call the whole ppc is freezing.
I have tried the hard spl that you provided and i flash it. All ok. Now the problem is that after all the reboots and the freezing to get the phone working the system crash and i tried to flash it again to wm6 the one that i had for over a year now. It reboots the ppc perfectly and i can see in the three color the hard spl ok version 2.10 but when its upgrading to wm6 it freezes to 12%
Any suggestions pls
Thnks a lot
sounds like your radio rom has been corrupted. You can try to flash the shipped stock rom but it may be a permanent brick.
To check, go to settings>system>device info. Check you have a radio rom version and protocol version. If you don't then you have a brick on your hands, sorry...
This seems to be the Achilles heel with the Hermes.
Hi again and i am really sorry to bug you
Here is what i did after trying and messing around with the softwares of the ppc i decided to check for once the hardware like you said about the ratio. I basicly took the whole phone apart to pieces and cleaned it with alcohol and a brush, dodnt know if its the right way but i have to tell you that it worked. It stop give me troble with the phone it starts perfectly and works perfectly except for sometimes that the sigla goes off witch it shoudnt. With the hard spl that you provided it looks a little bit faster too and i am very gradefull.
The thing that remains is that from day one that the problem started the battery witch is new it ends really quick. two days ago before the problem it could last for 2-3 days but now it last bearly for one .
Any suggestions on this?
Thanks for your time.
Just remember that 3G uses a LOT of battery power when in an area that isn't very good for it.
If you flashed a new rom that is using 3G (also check which radio you should be using) and you were using the GSM network before, it could be this that is the problem.
I myself am finding that the battery is going REALLY fast at the moment as I'm working in an area with bad reception. The radio has to work harder to keep signal strength so the battery is consumed fast.
Cheers...
I have Imate JasJam and I installed this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412895
my phone worked fine for a week but since yesterday I am facing this weird problem, my phone gets stuck and when I do a soft reset, the phone actually gets a hard reset every time.
what is the problem,
well after a hard reset I connected it to pc on active sync and it is working fine till now
ok it worked but I have another problem.
Many times when I reset or turn on the phone, it gets stuck in start and does not load windows, I have to hard reset the device.
What is this problem?
You either need to install a stock ROM before re-installing the ROM you want or you need to check for bad blocks using MTTY.
Do a search to find out about bad blocks...
man I am a total n00b can you please guide me the whole procedure I will be grateful

man I tried to install Hard SPL v7 but it didnt install, it gives this error make sure your device is connected to usb or is on the cradle.
I have the same problem and it is only getting worse
Have checked for bad blocks using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377389&highlight=mtty+wiki and none show up
Have tried jasjam and dopod original roms for Australia with no extra cabs installed but it is just getting worse
Connecting to a computer with active sync seems to make the phone work a bit better but only for a day or two
Cleared memory removed battery several times but device is just becoming more unreliable
Was going to throw against wall but decided to buy a htc fuze INSTEAD
Jasjam may still hit the wall
anyone have any suggestions
Thanks

Right, looking at the ROM sheharyar was using, its a big storage ROM. You need to install a stock rom first, preferably stripped of the radio rom, and go through the complete setup. It seems to stabilize the memory. You can then re-install the big storage ROM. It should now be stable.
If you need to install Hard SPL then go to page 116, post 1160 of the" Hard SPL or how not to brick your Hermes" thread. It gives you instruction on how to install via the sd card method.
After installing Hard SPL you can use the sd card method to install roms. Just drop the steps using sspl.exe. Also use a 2Gb or less sd card formatted FAT32. Watch the spelling of hermimg.nbh as it won't work with mistakes.
Also make sure you have good battery level.
Happy flashing...
hey guys i'm in the middle of russia at the moment on holidays seeing some family and ive decided to give my old hermes to my uncle however he doesnt understand english so i;ve been trying to put a stock russian rom on (one i found on xda wiki) as i have a cooked rom on there it wont let me downgrade now i know theres a different approach to stock roms than cooked roms but ive never tempered with them always put cooked roms on my hermes, diamond, and my current phone the HD. The internet is ridiculously slow with its 2g connection. so i've tried searching buts its taking me hours as opposed to 10 minuets.
info that might help.
i'm using vista (english) as opposed to xp or windows 7 that i usually use to do this.
the rom on there at the moment is "yahr" by marpelo
radio 1.54.30.10
any help would be appreciated i'm sure its simple fix.
note the rom is playing up at the moment and sometimes tends to loose connection when in tri colour screen, now it culd be due to me using the wrong approach or the phones playing up.
again thanks for the help
Install Hard SPL V7 then use sd card method to flash rom.
Just make sure sd card is smaller than 2Gb. You can also flash Hard SPL this way. Go to the Hard SPL thread at the top of the upgrading list of posts...
Cheers...
thanks bud i will give it a go will let you know how it goes. i'm gonna try with out the sd card as i dont have one and have to buy one from "a bigger town" i told you middle of no where lol.
so i tired running it through a usb connection to no success as it drops connection when in bootloader. tried of a memory card it flashes a split second loading rom screen after the bootloader and its long enough to see no image found and returns to bootloader. i've tried renaming the file as per wiki xda instructions. at a complete loss. any ideas? let me know if theres any more info you need. Thank you great minds of xda.
I think I may have bricked my OG HD2 (T8585) while trying to undo everything I had done to it, which was HSPL, MAGLDR and a NAND Android ROM.
It all started when I first tried to flash Kingdom's Sense 3.0 Gingerbread ROM. It told me to create a 340MB partition using HD2 Toolkit which I did. I then flashed the ROM as per the instructions, but it kept getting stuck on the boot logo so I decided to go back all the way to stock WinMo.
I downloaded a stock 1.66 ROM from HTC's website, tried to flash it via USB which failed because I obviously have no ActiveSync in Android. So I loaded the image onto my SD card and tried to flash by holding Vol Down and Power.
That was the first sign of trouble, about 1/10th during upgrade process it gave me some errors and rebooted to a black screen with a silver warning triangle.
Trying to go back into bootloader, I got the message about "upgrade ROM code error."
Since it had reverted back to SPL 1.42 I tried to reflash HSPL2 through USB, which worked fine, got the "We bricked it " message and everything. But then I tried to install MAGLDR and nothing, it fails even though it recognizes the USB connection.
So what can I do? On the one hand my device can accept and load HSPL2 and my computer is recogonizing the USB connection, but other than that nothing, it won't even turn on without being connected to external or USB power.
I also tried installing stock 1.43 ROM and that goes fine, it gives me an okay on everything but it gets stuck in the white HTC bootscreen in a loop.
I know I probably made a huge glaring mistaking to cause this, it's probably because I've bought a Transformer tablet and a Galaxy S2 in the last month so the steps regarding the HD2 were probably a bit of a blur. I guess the stock ROM probably included a radio that I wasn't supposed to flash, causing my device to be bricked.
But is there anyway I can get some type of OS working on this poor HD2 now?
She lives!!!
Okay, I'm not actually sure if the problem is solved but I'm back in WinMo 6.5 for the time being.
Since it had been off for a few hours I tried my luck again, plugged it into the wall and saw that it was stuck in the boot loop again. But I got distracted and left it, and when I came back it was on the orange WinMo setup screen.
Not sure what happened to make it go from not even getting power from the battery to working normally. But I see now my radio version is 2.05 which is massively old, I'm going to try and upgrade that first and see... hopefully it won't go back to being dead the moment I power down.

I had pretty much the same problem as you, but mine is the tmobile us version. I tried flashing back winmo from android via sdcard method but i got an upgrade error. I tried flashing with microSD card sizes 8gb, 16,gb, and then 2gb which was recommended, but still no luck. I managed to connect the hd2 through usb on the tricolor screen and flashed back to hspl2.08 and magldr and cwm were still on. But i would like to still get back to winmo stock as if it came from tmobile.
My question is if i download the latest update from tmobile which is T-Mobile HD2 MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1), what is the correct spl i should have installed on the hd2 so that htc and tmobile wont know that i messed with the spl? is it 3.03? I was going to connect via USB on the tri color screen again, run the EXE and manually install the SPL? I just need to know which SPL to install after i run the latest winmo update. Please advise on the SPL and the method i'm going to take on reverting back to winmo. Thanks.

So it sounds like you lucked out, huh? So your HD2 works at least? I believe if you succesfully flash an official ROM like from T-Mobile, it will replace everything including the SPL back to stock - this is what I was trying to do by flashing official 1.43, to go back to factory mode.
I seem to be worse off than you though. I posted last night how my HD2 was back up running WinMo, but as suspected the moment I rebooted it was back stuck in the boot loop.
Any ideas? I wish I could get the HD2 working again so I could set it aside and get to playing with my new Galaxy S2.
This is driving me crazy now...
I managed to flash HSPL 2.08, and then MAGLDR 1.3, and then CWM recovery on top.
But this still seems bricked to me, still needs external power to turn on and I can't actually flash a working ROM... flashing a ROM via USB gives connection error and flashing via SD card goes fine but gets stuck in a boot loop.
What can I do at this point short of tossing the phone? I've tried stock 1.48, stock 1.66, a bunch of radios from 2.05 to 2.15... everything.
I am doing some research but the only results I find are T-Mo HD2s being bricked by the wrong radio. I have an original HD2 and I never flashed a radio intended for another HD2 model, so how is my phone so bricked all of a sudden?
All the threads I've found say if you can get into the bootloader then there's some hope but I doubt it because I can't successfully flash anything with it. I don't even know how I managed to get back into WinMo briefly last night... think my HD2 is probably just toast.
Okay, I finally solved my problems for sure - bent charging leads in the battery compartment!
Anyone having boot issues, take out your battery and look at the metal leads and you will probably find them bent out of shape. They are incredibly flexible, so just make them straight again and it will work. I assume it cuts external power briefly right before booting into WinMo, which is why it was rebooting constantly.
So I suppose for me this was a huge case of confusion, I got all confused with bootloaders and MAGLDRs when the problem wasn't even software related.

The problem with my hd2 is the CPU is overheating thus causing it to freeze or lock up, and gets it annoying. After hours of searching on XDA, that's what seems to be the problem. I can't even talk on the phone for more than ten minutes or else locks up. So my idea was to get it back to winmo stock and see if it still locks up. If it does then i will probably try to send it back to HTC and see if they send another one maybe or fix it.
Ive had no luck luck flashing back to winmo from sdcard so i think i should try flashing back to winmo via usb on the tri color screen. Ive read on XDA that if you flash winmo via usb that it doesn't replace your SPL, and you have to run HSPL4 and flash it manually. I'm just not sure which SPL i should flash. I'm assuming 3.03 maybe?
What you could try is using an sdcard that is 2gb or less. Ive read that anything higher than 2gb will cause issues. I'm still a noobie at this rooting biz. Hope that helps.

Which model HD2 do you have?
Find and download the stock ROM from this thread, get 1.66 since it will work with HSPL2 which is the latest HSPL that will work with MAGLDR (for Android and WinPhone7).
You can flash that through SD card and it will go back to total stock, including stock SPL. I assume you know how to pull the .nbh file from the ROM you download, so just rename to LEOIMG.nbh and put it on your SD card.
Go into the tri-color screen and it should flash fine and give you factory reset. This is where it wasn't working for me, but not because I had flashed the wrong ROM or something but because I had messed up the charging leads in the back while popping the battery in and out to reboot as I was flashing.
Man I downloaded 1.66 last nite and tried to flash back to winmo from android and its toast. Not sure what went wrong. Oh well.
