My Cousins HTC P3400 has the manila comm manager and i was joking with him and told him to turn on wifi and i turned on my hp ip ipaq 514 i picked up nothing he tapped on the wifi icon and my phone detected an unknown wifi device i was like wtf because we where in a hall where they were no wifi device nearby i was like wtf then he tapped it again and it disappeard but on his phone it was stil active he tapped it again and it showed up on my phone again wierd huh

On my TC500 (HTC Prophet G4) the Wlan doesnt work anymore.
I tried several roms, but always the same, the small symbol in the taskbar doesnt blink and doesnt show any wlans. are there any ideas to solve this?

Hi, I have the same problem... but I discovered if you turn off you Prophet for a long while, and after ,restart again and you need to enable flight mode, and disable BT ( if it is enabled) the Wifi work. But after connecting to a network and try to saw samo internet pages... the Prophet freezes...
It is an hardware problem? or a soft problem??
i also have a similar problem... i can enable mi wifi , the light is blinking...but cannot find any networks even not searches..and when i my manually create the network and i'm step away from the acces point it sas unavailable... it started when i was using the latest i-mate rom...then upgraded the touch VII and touch VIII for now and no change...i gave up on the wifi and just surfing with the gprs ... i'm thinking of an hardware problem...cause i cant see the wifi adapter in the device manager which comes with touch VIII but can see other network cards...waiting for a solution for 4 months by now...=( thanx in advance...
Hey first post here... been a lurker in the Kaiser boards for about a year now and love the work everyone does.
Anyway, I got a Sprint TP that a coworker said he lost (so he could get a new one). Not using the sprint service but was thinking I could use the wifi to hop on my home network to avoid pulling out my laptop. Problem is the wifi just wont turn on. I've flashed 3 different roms and upgraded the radio to 1.11. Tried the program "AKtogglewifi" and double checked a reg entry as per a ppcgeeks tip and still get nothing. When I hit the wifi toggle in the comm manager the busy animation starts then it just switches back to off. If I go to the wifi settings page and click the "Turn Wifi on" hyperlink, nothing happens.
I'm open to any hints or suggestions and thanks in advance.

I believe your issue is it is not turned on. most of the settings are downloaded from the cell system if the phone isn't registered no data no nothing. I could be wrong but I don't think it will work if it isn't turned on with someone. That and if he reported it lost sprint probably killed that phone.

The WiFi and GPS function independent of a cell signal. The GPS can work with a cell signal to go aGPS, but also can work stand alone. WiFi never gets any settings via a cell signal.
I have a Sprint Touch Pro that is not activated on the network and the WiFi works perfectly. WiFi has nothing to do with having service turned on.
My new T-mobile HD2 have some problem with wifi, It working normally with wifi in every where, but not in my home, in while my notebook is connect to wifi at home normally, when finding wifi, my phone found the neiborhood wifi as usual, and never saw my own wifi moderm, my old phone, HD1 was connect normaly, pls show me where is the problem and how to solver it. if it isnt visible, try entering the SSID manually.

I know it sounds strange, but try looking for it in a different area of the house ...
My HD2 will not see my wifi if I am too close to the router, yeah weird. But it also will not see it if I am standing too close to my tv ...
BUT, once connected neither of those things seem to make a difference ...
I received my 16g 101 today and while I did read about some phones having an issue tethering.
EDIT:: I solved my wifi issue but the phone problem persists
I currently have a htc tilt 2 running EnergyRom and have used its wifi router and usb tethering to connect to the net with numerous net/note books and even my own pc when they serviced the lines out here and I had no internet. But nomatter what I try weather it be tethering via BT or USB even after entering all the APN info manually it wont connect. Wont even find the phone with wifi when I try using it as a wireless router, says its out of range if I enter info manually.

I notised that somethimes when I turn on the wifi function of the HD2 WM65 unit, there's quite a long delay in negotiating my residence internet connection via Wifi.
As it's only 2 meters away, it should be immediate. The observation is that I turn on the HD2 WLan function, as it polls the air, negotiates, the Motorola analog vDSL router (Netopia 7347) restarts itself. Same as if I do a HTTP connect from workstation and a software restart from the admin panel. (!)
Ok, I have a freshened ISP connection in time for my HD2 web connect but it does take also 60sec to get that new connection and kill any file transfers I may have going on my PC.
Has anyone else heard of this? I haven't gone to any Netopia or Motorola forums but as the HD2 is what initiates it, I thought I would start here.
