I've been visiting this site for the last two weeks, but I can't find the right link.
I'd like to know how to dump my radio. I've seen some info on dumping a rom, but not a radio rom.
I have a phone thats in korean and I would like to flash a english rom to it.
Before I can flash a new rom , I heard that you first have to unlock it, and in order to do that you have to reflash your original radio back. I have found some other radios on this site but I wont be able to use them, because phones from outside korea can't be registered on korean cell networks. So I need to dump my original radio and then put it back after I have flashed the english rom.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks a million.

Can someone please provide the HOW-TO restore back to the original Radio Version, original Locker or unlocker and original software available at HTC. (The files would be enough and a brief walkthrough) - I was able to change to 2.2.61 and it works fine but I am going to sell to someone and want them to have the original ROM so no issues will arise. Thanks for all your help!!
No Takers?
No suggestions?
a little more info please
Need to know what carrier your unit is for. If Sprint then it is pretty easy, but Verizon will require a little care as the files are not on the utstar page and the ones I have for it are untested as I have not tried the rollback.
so if we go to custom rom/radio with an unlocker all we have to do is reflash the sprint rom if we are on sprint?

Yes.. the Sprint ROM's available are complete ROM's with IPL, SPL, Radio, OS, ExtRom, etc. The Verizon ROM's are not available anywhere! Someone over at PPCGeeks claimed to be a Verizon Tech and said even they didn't have the software (which contradicts a user report where they say they walked into Verizon and walked out with a newly flashed XV6800). The available Verizon ROM's namely VZW_2.09_RUU_Signed.NBH is an OS only ROM. It's even got a CID of SPCS_100 which is wrong. IIRC Verizon has a CID of VZW__001.
Anyway, I bricked a XV6800 the other day because I didn't downgrade the radio before running TitanRelocker. The bootloader would not accept any NBH's except the Sprint ship ROM which of course would not load because the Vendor ID didn't match. If you have an XV6800 you should be a little more careful with updating the ROM's since we do not have an easy rollback method like Sprint users do!
Sprint!
Figured it out! Thanks it was a Sprint - Now I feel more comfortable trying different rom's out there...
I have a titan on the Cellular South network, small carrier mainly in mississippi. I want to try upgrading my rom, however I do not want to make the same mistake I made with my Palm 700wx. I would like to make a backup copy of the stock rom in case things don't work out and I need to reinstall it. I have searched heavy for backup procedures with no luck. All I have found is recommending saving the ESPT settings. I have copied some, but am not sure what all I need. Any guideance would be appreciated!
not much help or cooperation out here on the 6800; I must say the communication is much better when I was working on my palm 700wx on this site.
I'm a noob, but I too have searched heavily about how to backup the stock ROM/radio, but to no avail. If you want to try better ROM's on the TITAN, I believe from all the reading I have done that the best option is...
SPL: nueSPL247(unlocks the phone)
ROM: dcd3.2.6
RADIO: 3.42.50(GPS enabled0
also no2chem puts out nueROM which is presently up to nueROM3 (for a small donation, it can be yours).
You can also get the complete kitchen from ppckitchen.org
Good luck. If you have any success upgrading your phone, please post it here. I too am on a small local carrier probably in a boat similar to you.
stock roms are available usually on htc's site...

Yeah, but only if you are with a major carrier to the best of my knowledge. Those of us with tier 2 carriers don't get to enjoy that benefit. That is why we constantly want to know how to extract the ROMs from our phone. That way we too could try other ROMs and restore to our carriers ROM if we cannot get it working.

Yeah, with my Palm I could get Cellular South stock rom; however I have not seen it on the HTC website.
I would like to test with my Titan, however I would like to have my stock rom saved to fall back on if need be. There has to be a pretty straight forward method to backup/save your stock rom; I just haven't been able to get my hands on it!
Someone that makes/mods ROMs might be able to help you with dumping your stock rom. The names that come to mind are scrosler, dcd, and gc14. Bitserve took over scrosler's ROM so might have some idea as well.
I apologize to those mentioned above if you get unwanted attention now.
cellular south 6800
I have a cellular south 6800 and hacked it up a while back. All cell south 6800's run a stock sprint rom and just had the names on it changed to cellular south. Cell south actually bought them from Sprint then just rebadged them. You can download the stock sprint rom that is on them from sprint or from here on the forums somewhere (found it in another post a while back). Because of this I did not make a backup of mine before I changed it. I did run into minor problems during the change but only because I lost my epst settings and did not make a good backup of them before I started. I just copied what I needed off a friends 6800.
Backup your epst setting by writting ALL of them down then put nuerom2.4.7 on it and you are good to go. Write down the rom version that is listed in epst. If you ever need to go back you just load up the stock sprint rom.
Thank you greatly for your response; I have been reading and searching for days to resolve this.
Have a Great Day!

If you've worked with CellSouth phones, maybe you can help me. I updated my phone using the Sprint ROM now available on HTC's web site. I messed up, left the phone unattended, and when I got back, my daughter had performed the steps that let the Sprint authorization take place. So I have a Sprint-inized phone. I've got it working, but it keeps changing my dialer settings to a Sprint PCS dialer that won't allow me to save the user name and password.
I need to get back to the stock ROM, but I can't find one. I do find the 2.17 for a Sprint, but the radio ROM is lower than the 1.69 that was on the phone.
Or, I need to know if I can flash another ROM, keeping the current radio.
The original device info:
ROM 2.17.557.0
ROM Date 11/20/07
Radio Version: 1.69.00
Protocol Ver: ACAAAAM-4070
Hardware Ver: 0003
PRL Version: 10002
PRI Version: 1.34_013
It was running WM6.0
The new Device info:
ROM Version 3.56.651.0
ROM Date 06/16/08
Radio Version 3.42.02
Protocol Ver. DCAAXAM-4350H
Hardware Ver. 0003
PRL Version 10002
PRI Version 2.04_003
WM 6.1

I am not with your carrier but I can answer this part. If you have the correct spl 2.40 or 2.47 then yes you can flash the roms here and it will leave the radio alone.
Thanks!
So that means no locking, reverting to stock, then flashing.. just flashing the new?
In the mean time, I was able to load the Telus carrier Cab from DCD and it gave me a modem that I can edit. So, I'm able to do my data connection without headaches.
If I could get the Sprint apps off of it, things probably would be cool. But there seems to be people getting better GPS results and cooler apps with other ROMS. So, maybe I'll give one of them a try.
Hello, I just flashed my Fuze with natf rom (which worked excellent), and now I need to return the phone back to att by mail (touch wheel doesn't work, keyboard freezes). I understand I first flash stock att rom to the phone and then put the stock spl back on it, is this correct? These are the roms I found: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs
My questions are: The stock att roms on wiki all look like they are for the UK, and I purchased mine in the United States, are these the correct versions I should load? Also, which one do I need to load onto my phone (there's four). And where do i find the spl I need?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
(I scoured the forums, though I'm not all that sure I knew exactly what I was looking for... I'm certain this has been asked before, though I could not find a step by step guide with my specific questions answered, I sincerely apologize for asking again, but I'm at a loss...)

Visit blownfuze.org and scroll down to reverting back to AT&T for warranty. He has everything you need to download and instructions right there. Make sure to say thanks
I've never returned a phone to stock OS before returning. Do you think AT&T has the time or the know-how to actually check each phone for custom builds?
I just tell them the phone's display freaks out like there is a cable loose inside or something... or a key on the keyboard doesn't work.
As long as you tell them there is a hardware error, they have no choice but to return it.
hi im new to HTC HD2, i have the australian version which im guessing is the europe version, i was wondering when i try and install a rom wheather i have to change the name of the ruu_signed.nbh file, ive watched all the youtube videos i could and on some of them i have seen the named changed to LEO.... so im sort of stuck, any help would be appreciated cheers frank
only need to change name when using sd card to flash.
By 'australian version' do you mean telstra version? which isn't the euro version, but roms work the same.
1 - run hspl3
2 - choose 2.08.hspl (not 2.08.0000)
Once you have applied hspl, you dont need to do it again.
3 - flash your rom.
thanx champ, not sure if its a telstra version, ive bought an unlocked 1 from ebay, just doing all the research i can before it gets here, ive flashed fones before i had an LG Veiwty use to flash the **** out of it, ive downloaded about 6 roms im gunna go with the kumar rom 1st i think, ive got all the stuff i need HSPL ect, just wasnt sure about the rom name
Also what radio should i go with if it is a telstra version i know theres alot of choices any help appreciated cheers
Just do HSPL first. Then follow the instructions on the threads of the roms that you want to try. You'll never get lost mate. Goodluck to your flashing!
radios are hardware independant, doesnt matter which you flash UNLESS you happen to get a tmous (t mobile usa) hd2. You can tell if it is a tmous, because it says t mobile beneath the earpiece. If it DOES say t mobile there, then you need to be careful what radio you flash.
thanks guys for the respones and the encouragement, this forum is way better than some of the forums ive been on
My brother is in Germany and I helped him root his phone about 7-8 months ago I went to prison and he is still on Modaco's rom 1.5 I need to know if their are new and improved radio's/spl for his phone before I talk him through updating to a new rom... I searched but I'm unclear to which radio version is best for his phone since their are like 10 versions of the HTC hero over there in Europe... thanks guys his current baseband is 63.18.55.06u_6.35.04.25
Moved to Q&A as not Development
Assuming he hasn't got a sprint hero, the latest one is in my sig.
sorry it was late I thought I was in the Q&A... but thank you. So their is no specific radio for each country/service provider? I just wanna make sure before walking him through it with his phone... I have the mytouch US. and have been messing with the phone since I first got it... and the procedure for him doesnt matter if I have him flash the radio at any time no specific order and dont have to worry about the spl either do I? thanks truly appreciate the help
Not region specific at all. The only service provider that is different is the Sprint Hero's in the US.
I wouldn't recommend flashing a new rom and a radio without a reboot - other than that flash the radio on any rom and it will stick across any future rom's.
Don't bother with SPL changes. They aren't necessary.
awesome that is all I needed to know I greatly appreciate the help I'll report back and give you another thanks
