... fast and stable? Could be 1d replacement?
Thanks Bro. Trying to download.

Just a few words on this ROM
I have tried more than 15 ROMs for the last two weeks. I can easily say that this one is the most stable and fastest of all. I am using Qtek S200 for the moment. I do not know why but I had always problem with soft resets with most of the ROMs. After a few soft resets (randomly) I had to hard reset the PDA and with this one I did not have any problem with any soft reset.
My preview for the whole day with this ROM is as follows:
1. 58 MB free storage + 28 MB RAM (G4) + 9 MB free EXTENDED_ROM (You can only access this area using Total Commander, Resco Explorer, etc. You cannot install any program into this area but what you store in this area is kept even after hard resets but not after a new ROM cook of course)
On some ROMs, some programs have been installed into this EXTENDED_ROM area and so the free storage area increases up to 68 MB. I do not know if it is possible to install any program into this area. Is there a way to migrate 10 MB of some installed programs to EXTENDED_ROM, so anyone can choose to use 10 MB EXTENDED_ROM or 10 MB more usual storage area. Or someone can prepare another ROM with this option.
2. RAM usage seems stable. I have opened a lot of programs and closed them but free RAM does not decrease by time.
3. This ROM is really fast.
4. It is quite clean and I like clean ROMs. Because I can install what I want and update in the future. I have not tested but if this ROM is UC capable, then there is no need to add any extra program to this ROM. May be a Cabs directory may be given as an option so that everyone can choose what he wants.
I did not face any problem upto now and want to use this ROM forever if I do not face any problems in the future. This ROM is better than 1d (since I had soft reset problems with this ROM also) for me. Thanks a lot to the hardworking people who made this ROM come to life.

Nice clean rom - this is what I'm looking for.
But there is a problem , I can't restore my PIM with PIMBackup , it notices that my backup has error but I can run it on another rom.

Pls do hard-reset before you import. I have just updated to this rom. Tested pimbackup restore successful for me. Not sure what you have in your backup, mine is only call logs and messages. backup file size 105kb.

Bt don't work and it drain battery, i use it for 1 hour with Voip and wifi from 93% to 4%, and it crash sometimes.
I don't now if it is my probleme or no.
Sorry for my english I'm Algerian

dear stradigm, i can understand that how happy you are, but please let me express
I will say," I am shorter than you, I am taller than you..." but I will never say I am better than you...

"Better" Means
Dear dioxda2,
I totally agree with you, everyone wants to see objective comparison parameters.
What I wanted to emphasize on my writing was the stability. My parameter for stability was "the ability not to need a hard reset after a few soft resets" I have met this problem with 1d a few times i.e. I had to hard reset the PDA 5 or 6 times. And after the device is stable, one may try benchmark software for the speed, etc. What attracted my attention for the speed was the menu change times and program launch times. It was a little faster compared to 1d (of course this was just a subjective look).
Except these, free storage and RAM area are advantages of this ROM.
I am planning to cook ROMs to another JAMin. During this time, I can test whatever you want.

I have already used the full version it is more "stable" and lox battery drain, but i think that this clean version needs more tweak or corrections, and may be some dlls are missed because Fring does not work on.

THANKS and A small request
Dear maxwellr,
Like all of the ROMs, tried them all except "touch it".
Now running the Prophet Nitro (fastest) [wm6.1 -5.2.19971] ROM.
But now I am missing the ring tones in Nitro Full (build19917.pv) - there were two unique ringtones there.
Cud you pleasssssssss provide them here in a ZIP or something? WIll be very grateful indeed.
I am sure you ll take this trouble for me,
Arefin

Bluetooth isn't working with mine..
Yesterday I tried to transfer MP3 from Nokia N81 and SE M600.
Both found my Prophet, but had a "sending failed" message.
I also already turn on the "receive beam" in the setting menu.
Anyone could help..????

Alarm issues
Hi,
I've recently upgraded my g4 from wm5 to your ROM which I find excellent !
Speed is good, found no major bugs except:
- the volume buttons don't work as they did in wm5. I can use them as hotkeys but they don't shange the system volume by default....
- the alarm does work at all ! - and this was quite an important issue for me. Any hints on how to fix the problem or help you fix it would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, I congratulate you for your work... it's as fast as it should be.

new version with new build and bug fixes will soon come

Im going to test it...
Thanks !
Hello Cloudyfa,
Did you release this new beta for us to test and in a few days you are going to make a definitely release ?? Or this is really a beta rom??
Hi Cloudyfa my friend
I will flash it and run it for a day or so and report back
My Prophet Touch VIII is also sent to beta test so I will try out your rom for a day while I wait for reports coming back on my beta
I know you do a good job so I'll be happy if I can be of any help.
Gulli
edit:
Ok just a fast resault tried what is wrong from my beta rom and you seam to have the same bugs
Messanger Live can't log in....Phone hangs after using wifi... Office Word can't open more then 1 document then it wan't open again. so I guess these are bugs with this build and we need to figur them out.
I will test some more to see if the rest is working
Anyway it's realy fast too
Does it include the cube???
in tetsing will the OS page freeze be checked? along with the memory release issue on reboot with PIN lock?
Thanks for all your work you and Gullum should be proud of your achievements, we all certainly are and constantly appreciative of your work.
Yes ! Another release.. PDAViet 4 life !
Cloudfya are you planing to release this as a Transformer 1.1 or as a PDAViet 4.0.0.0.7 ? Oh just for your notice if you can get the bus as Gullum mentions fixed and the few bugs from your Transformer 1.0 it would really be perfect !
The only bugs i noticed in Transformer 1.0 was;
Clock not allways showing in title bar -> you mentioned a regfix in the thread
WLM Not showing contacts after 1 first logon -> in Transformer Thread someone uploaded a working version

well... i love this rom... it works great so far... the only thing i noticed is that the call waiting dont work ok... i had call and then got another call but i couldnt switch... the rest of it is excelent so far... thank you Cloudyfa for your great work...

WiFI can be a problem only I have because I have had problems with wifi on every rom even the shiped one and it's caused by my sd card. but yes the other 2 bugs I do have.
Coulden't find anything else though
FLEETING!!
Impressive indeed! it's faster even than EVO8 slightly!!
And more, it is clean enough, no redundant audiomanager, no fat touch-look stuffs! only HtcHome, the mulfuntional JAVA -_- and a few tools are different from the official ones.
preformance talks! i love it!! only if some glitches can be fixed, this one must be best one i've ever tried!
-----------------------------------------------
the issues on the checklist which inclues the gliches of T1 (issue 1, 2) and issues over 18508 and 18125 (3) I am working on are:
1. Whether the built-in JAVA works
result: no, Esmeertec Jbed disappeared right after installing opera mini beta 4
2. Whether it hangs during re-boot and operation
result: yes, looking for solutions, note: ce-star instlled, overclocked 264 Hmz, hung during reboot as well as operation.
note: using pBar instead of X-button 2, killing all shortcuts but Omap and pBar..... seems works fine so far...^^
3. Whether the speed can be reclaimed after removing data put into the windows folder earlier.
result: acceptable.
testing steps: open the windows folder with Resco Explorer, 264Hmz, in different stages as below:
A. newly flashed 4.5 /8 rounds
B. needed softwares installed 6/8 rounds (ce-star installed, around 15 applications linked from SD)
C. Cube installed 1 1/4 rounds
D. Cube removed 1 1/8 rounds
E. backup file A with SPB Backup implied 7.5/8 round
(18125 is highly affected by the syndrome while 18505 is relatively nothing.)
Note: taking how many rounds to open the windows folderas a "speed" measuement is not precise, yet it is very easy and efficient. Given all HTCHome's files are put into the windows folder directly instead of an added HTCHome folder, the result above is really amanzing,
4. Whether the superb speed remains when all applications are installed, settings settled.
result: very good, as roms built on 18508 should habave!
Note: the tests above are the MUST i do for every single rom available, same applications installed, same procedure applied.
----------------------------------------------------
Still, thanks a million times for sharing!
forgot to mention that PDAViet's roms always have a very nice looking!! ^_^

No problem, brother^^"
for issue 2:
Always have your pc and ppc linked during the testing period--installing applications, truning the device on and off, setting all values, etc.
for issue 3:
the "round" refers to the 4-color icon running on the screen whenever time-consuming folders or applications being opened or initiated.
new flashed refers to a clean system without installing or setting anything. (actually, omap and Resco Explorer are exceptions in this case)
sorry for the confustion here, i've updated the previous post^^

a very innovative way to measure the performance, i must say
however the load time for windows folder is not a good measure of performance, because it depends on the numbers of files in windows folder, so if the cooker of the rom remove the rgu files ( registry files) this load time will significantly decrease.

thanks for the illustration, brother.
To measure the speed in such a way is technically not precise, of course. so i used to check how many files are there in the windows folder whenever something unusual comes up. in this beta, however, nothing is abnormal--1676 files/35 folders in my case to be precisely^^
besides, measuring speed with "rounds/windows" has its own benifit---a common language everyone understands, and an easiest way everyone can follow suits, or re-check whether the report is true^^".

this ROM is pretty basic, no fancy interface/skin and already floating around quite sometime. The idea is to build WM6.1 ROM for ATOM EXEC that use the battery very efficiency
all the ROM content are the same as 20080417A5WWE version but of course with improved low battery consumption.
you may try it .. re-flash and fully charge.
minor bug: Beam function will be take time when set-on.
sorry I can't change/edit the ROM anymore since the energy saving enigma is inside the imgfs structure ROM.

Not quite sure how to phrase it but this is a screenshot.

don't do the hard reset first, try do soft reset first. 1 of my friends installed games until the space full but still working fine till todate.
suggest to do the freeRAM occasionally and perhaps set schedule to do the soft reset phone every 3-4 days or everyday you can use addtimer to do that --> find lower version 3.08 still freeware
Is there a cab file for the windows live plugin that I can use to reinstall the app?

Thanks a lot for your work, I always learn something from you.
I've got a question regarding to "the mystery on imgfs structure". I just managed yesterday to cook an ultra high performance and speed ROM which I think would be interesting for some people. The thing is that I would like to cook the same one with some minor changes for international users. Those changes would be only in the initflashfiles.dat, in the Default.xml file in BatteryStatus folder and in a reg key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides]
"SLDte"="dddd' 'd' de 'MMMM". Do you think that a recooking with those minor changes would make the ROM changes its speed an performance? I am talking about Abusalza's in blue ROM I recently posted which after several atempts to make a less battery consuming one I surprisingly got an ultra fast one instead despite the fact that there are only hex:0096 free sectors left.
WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19199 B19209.1.0.5

I know, it is a fatty one but isn't that the market tendency? To Provide devices with everything any one could wish instead of clean ones.
Regards,
Jaime.
I already softreset first but it doesn't help, still freeze (wm load until some app and then hung, propably after photocontact). Now i'm downgrade to your WM6.1 A5 and it OK but I'm will try WM6.1 A6 again later (currently very busy in career).
I think may be i just continuous to push app while don't do softreset on some finished of installed app cause it freeze when softreset on total finished.
my apps (install)
1. Thai-G then Thai Dict then LinvoSoft DIc.... softreset
2. MemMaid 2.2, HandyLauncher
3. SKTools 5
4. PhotoContactPro 5.08
5. SPB --> Plus + Diary + Time 2 + Weather ...softreset
6. Resco Explorer Beta 6 + PhotoViewerPro
7. CorePlayer
8. PocketMusic 5
9. other util
softreset one time after 5. install ...

well, based on my experience, changing the content on the ROM will be change the size bytes in total on your ROM. and the tricky part is the way XPR compress the file/module into the imgfs will not the same every time. if you get more efficient compression sector than your ROM will be speed up and the other way more inefficient sector will be get result on low battery consumption.
fyi: this is my opinion, may correct and may not

I already softreset first but it doesn't help, still freeze (wm load until some app and then hung, propably after photocontact). Now i'm downgrade to your WM6.1 A5 and it OK but I'm will try WM6.1 A6 again later (currently very busy in career).
I think may be i just continuous to push app while don't do softreset on some finished of installed app cause it freeze when softreset on total finished.

32mb program memory sounds awsome , but i cant say it looks awsome. I mean the theme is redish, the call manager is redish, med. player, cal. and com.manager is bluish. I dont think they match well... I wish call manager was also bluish so a blue theme would be the fix to my personal visual problem
thank you for this gr8 rom. Thou will stay with "my speedy diamond 2" althou it's 25mb program mem, and kinda slower than 1d

it would be worth trying for me if it had "1d" look and none of the extra apps than 1d had.
Thanks. It could be a good ROM for me to try. But I hate the extra apps, espcially the quick menu. And the 1d looks much better than this one...
Looks everyone is in love with your 1d (original), but not storm, or eoffice.
1d original has the best looking, and best speed. Why not just replace the OS, but keep everything the same?

anyways, you are the cooker, you decide
Everything was perfect, except soft reset
I have cooked this ROM and tried it for the last 4 days. Everything was perfect, except soft reset. After a few soft resets (I have tried the hardware soft reset button and "reboot" link from the start menu shortcut on different hard resets) the PDA locks itself, can not reboot and the only solution is a hard reset.
I would use this ROM if this problem was fixed.

Is there a way to test a flashed ROM ?
Dear dioxda2,
Thank you very much for taking your time for answering my question. I will try it again. But I have another question now
Is there a way to test a flashed ROM (if the flash was successful or not) ? I will test the new flash for the other few days and I would be glad if there is a test to check my cook. I got the message on the PC screen that the cook was successful.

cool... light version... thx...
light means less battery usage?
Not directly. Light means the ROM has less software included. That is only the base operating system without any Manila, TouchFLO and so on. That means you are free to install any additional software you want, which gives you the possibility to upgrade it when a newer version becomes available, but on the other hand, you have to invest a bit more time into setting up everything into becoming a more comfortable interface.
But back to your original question; a general rule may be applied: the less software you install onto your device, the less the CPU usage, the less the power consumption and the longer the battery endurance. (-;
Very nice rom, but just 2 remarks.
1. where can i find a java running application?
2. what registry value do i have to change so as to disable the threaded sms? Tried searching the registry but couldn'n find any relevant key?

I recommend trying the GC Java Pack -- it is easy to install, stable and comes with Gmail and Opera Mini preinstalled. (I am currently using version 1.2.2 of the pack, will upgrade to 1.2.6 tomorrow.)

I don't know the registry key / value, but I do know you can use the Advanced Configuration Tool v3.2.0.0 by Julien Schapman to achieve this.

pliquid,
can you please inform us what is the "Basic Apps/Programs" you are referring in this ROM version? like for example the NETCF, etc...
your information is appreciated.
many thanks.
The info in the first post by pliquid is just copied over from this thread at PDAviet.
By "Basic Apps/Programs" T2M means there isn't any third party software installed, just the basic Windows Mobile and the MWg Extended ROM. That means exactly what it says. If you want any additional functionality, like .NET, TouchFLO, Manila 2D, Total Commander, ..., you have to install it yourself. The only software preinstalled should be the Equalizer, CommManager, a basic file explorer, Internet Explorer, MWg Image Editor, Calculator, FM Radio, Media Album, Camera, probably also MS Office, Windows Media Player and two games: Solitaire and Bubble breaker.
Not sure about anything from this list though, and probably I also forgot something.
I don't know if anyone else has the same issue, but last night i rotated the screen from the screen menu to landscape and then exited the settings menu. When i went back to the settings menu to rotate the screen again to portrait the 3 different tabs (personal, system, connections) were not visible,
It seemed like the icons of all the 3 tabs were together in the window but you couldn't see them all. I had to select tab from the keyboard to go the different tabs, although i couldn't see the icons and then navigating with the d-pad and selecting icons in random without seeing the icons.
Just in case go to settings->personal->buttons and assign a hard button to do the screen rotation, then switch to landscape and close everything. Go back to settings and see if you have the same problem.
I spent some really "happy" hours until i hit the right icon and was able to change back to landscape and I am not sure if after a soft reset the screen is by default portrait.
i don't encounter any problem in changing into portrait or landscape...
this ROM version is awesome..

When in landscape go to start->settings and tell me if you can see all the tabs.
Indeed it is awsome. VERY stable and very quick.
And the battery too. 24 hours, since last charge, with 45 minutes browsing last night through wifi and is now at 55%!!!

YES, i can see all the TABS.. just i said, i dont encounter any problem in changing from portrait into landscape mode and vice versa.. if you still encounter such problem, try to soft reset your device and if the problem still occur..try to RE-Flash again your ROM..

You are right. Now i can see the tabs too, but after the third soft reset I made since i flashed the rom. All the softresets are because of the advanced configuration and not because of any problem with the rom. Very nice rom again.
I am looking for a clean rom. I already tried this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448074 but I am not satisfy from the battery drain point of view.
Does someone have tried both and can tell me which one prefered and why?
Does someone know if this rom is based in Mwg or 02 drivers? I believe mwg is better for battery life.
Does someone know if this rom has hspda support?
THANKS!!!

It seems to me that you are missing some .MUI files for English. Even if you change the Regional Settings some functions remains in Chinese... But this is a good start. Keep it up. I do hope you decide to release your upcoming ROMs to our StarTrek Community here in XDA.
This looks amazing! Thanks for bringing WM 6.5 to the StarTrek!

Just place the .NBH file along with any RUU. It would be better if you could get the automated ones. You can use the one from my ROM. Just replace the .NBH file with the one provided here.

Hi!
WM6.5 on Star Trek looks amazing and feels like a respawn of that device. However i wanna wait til a clean english version is possible and out. Ill come back from time to time to check this. Please keep up your nice work!
Good luck and thanks much,
Future
Is the front screen functioning?
Does this ROM support the features & buttons on the front secondary screen?
I'd like to try it but if these features are missing, it'd be a deal breaker.
Update I:
Tried flashing this ROM using the MicroSD card method but got Invalid Certificate warning.
Should I use the RUU for StarTrek to get past this error?
How did the rest of you perform this ROM flashing?
The bootloader shows:
STAR100
IPL 1.32.0001
STAR100
SPL 1.32.0000
Update II:
I used Erofich's ROM update package & managed to flash this ROM successfully. I swopped the STARIMG.nbh from the temporary RUU unpacked folder for this (renamed STARIMG.nbh) ROM & it flashed it without problems. Now the phone is up & running.

OmapClock trick
Im using this rom and its actually pretty good. There are a few gripes where applications (specifically for me - Media Player & Comm Manager) are in Kanji or equivalent but all in all its fast and the updates to WinMo are good. I especially like the new standard Homescreen. The only thing I have problems with is that the bluetooth etc settings are in kanji... and this would be a problem for someone who doesnt have another WinMo handset to hand to understand what menu option controls what...
I have also found an interesting trick with Tornado Power Control using this rom that should be repeatable on any startrek rom...
My phone would run at 252mhz stable when I overclocked it using TPC & OmapClock - but at the 264 setting would lock up instantly and be useless until reboot...
TPC uses a remote procedure call called Power_on.lnk to clock the phone above its 228mhz limit using OmapClock - and this basically is a lnk file that calls Omap and sets its speed...
Now, here is the trick. I dont know why but the setting within omapclock and the setting using the link file is independant. Where a phone will lock up on a speed setting within Omapclock - it doesnt necessarily follow that the phone will do the same when the same setting is set from the *.lnk file.
What you need to do therefore is edit the *.lnk file clock setting incrementally until you reach the highest stable clock speed... ie make increments until you reach a speed where the phone locks up and needs rebooting - then back off one setting. I did this and then set the *.lnk file for TPC into my startup group which calls TPC which then calls power_on.lnk > omapclock at XXXmhz
Normally the Startrk runs at 180mhz which is fine for what the phone would have been used for in the days when it was introduced... but not so hot now when phones are used for things such as MP4 playback etc..
Using the method above I have managed to clock my handset to 263mhz at which point it is completely stable.
Using SKTools lite benchmarks....
@ 263Mhz
Integer : 142.6 Moves/25
Floating point : 3.485 MWIPS
@ 180Mhz
Integer : 102.6 Moves/25
Floating Point : 2.485 MWIPS
As you can see there is a substantial difference between the two. At the higher speed the handset is now able to run MP4s full screen in Media Player that are fully watchable - although there is some movement flare (I think this may be to do with the screen itself more than anything)...
The increase in processor speed also feeds into memory access times - and it would seem that in this case the Startrk is already a quick design - since overclocked its memory times are on a par with machines running 300mhz+ clockspeeds..
hi
I used tpc for overclocking startrek more than hundred times and never seen freezing , even in 263Mhz !!
maybe your device ( hardware ) or your rom had some problems .... ?
Anyone cooked a english one yet?
I've tried this one & it is great---but I want it all in english---If no-one has done it yet--could someone point me towards a tutorial/guide to do it?
Bump---any ideas anyone?
