Is possible to install nike rom's,starting from storage card,like other devices(kaiser and elf 4 example).
1)extract your rom on pc desktop
2)rename nbh file in "NIKEIMG.nbh"
3)put "NIKEIMG.nbh" on your microSD(directly on microSD and not in a folder)
4)press camera,power and soft-reset hardware buttons
5)now you have a boatloader screen and immediately a white screen with "loading...."
6)after a new white screen with "Press power button to start update image"
7)press power button and te rom updating will start from your storage card
8)at the end,soft reset
that's all.

when you read "loading" on display,your device is update's finding,and if it hung,it don't find this....it would be,that you put NIKEIMG.nbh on a folder?....you must to put this file directly on microSD...or maybe is a rename error....

you must rename nbh file by desktop and not by phone.if you rename by device,maybe you have an error...4 example...if you rename with "file explorer" it becomes "NIKEIMG.nbh.nbh"...if your device have an hspl and you follow instruction correctly,it works...

I also tried this. Renamed the file on my desktop.. After that i putted the card in my HTC, but after pressing camera and power button, it says.. Loading.. No image found..
Any solution for this?

your device has bricked?...ave you an hspl?...what kind?...1.15?...1.22?.
this operation work only with hspl....
format your sd with FAT32!!!!!!!!
works perfectly with a niki200. Oh, and if your phone is off, you don't even need to press the reset, just camera, hold it, then push on the power button as well.

In case you have a preproduction HERMES and you can not update the ROM (due to the fact that your bootloader is <1.04) here the very easy solution:
- format a SD card with FAT32
- extract the .NBH file from the rom image you like
- rename the .NBH to HERMIMG.NBH and copy it to your SD card
- put SD card in phone and start it in bootloader (hold OK button on left side and POWER button at same time and stick with stylus in RESET on bottom)
- confirm flashing on screen
- flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 30 minutes.
This also works for normal (non preproduction) devices but keep in mind that if the CID does not match the flashing might not work.

Preproduction devices are superCID, so they should be able to flash any image using that method.

So how long did your screen stay with the Checking..., as I am now on my 4th IMG to try, and all have taken over 10mins each while on the checking.
I need some slepp so this one i will let run while i sleep.

But you have a TyTN as I have seen in your other post, so you can flash the HERMIMG.nbh from HTC TyTN rom which will match your CID.

The bootloader command "info 2" returns your CID, on a TyTN that is:
"HTCS" + "QTEK_001" + (4-byte checksum) + "HTCE"
You can also find it by running GetDeviceData.exe.
These are the ROMs an it's CID lock:
HTC: QTEK_001
Dopod: DOPOD001
JasJam: CDL__001
Cingular: CWS__001
O2: O2___102

The Hermes SPL searches for two files on SD card, one is HERMIMG.nbh as pointed out by J.S. on this topic, the other one is HERMDIAG.nbh.
Anyone knows about what is HERMDIAG? looking at the name seems some kind of DIAGnostic SD card... :?
I've been told by itsme that HTC StarTrek supports 2 ways of sd-card flashing:
1) with 'starimg.nbh' on a fat32 filesystem (same as in hermes, but using hermimg.nbh instead)
2) with a typhoonnbfdecode.pl generated sdcard
I've tried to generate a cooked rom for TyTN using typhoonnbfdecode.pl, but the .nb files extracted using nbh2dbh.pl and dbhdecode.pl are not valid, it seems that typhoonnbfdecode.pl expects the .nb files to be decoded as sd header image (using flag "-i" of typhoonnbfdecode.pl itself), but this tool is not useful to handle NBH files.
Also trying to make a NBF file with typhoonnbfdecode.pl out of .nb files extracted from original shiped NBH file gives an image validation error on each module specified in ' -r '.
Any help will be much appreciated!
hermdiag.nbh is a diagnostic/setup/lock/unlock SPL image.

If you compare the NBF file you've created to the NHB file pulled from one of the shipped ROMs will that help? I'd like to help, but need time to get up to speed on the whole ROM cooking process.
The problem is that I cannot even create the NBF... I get a validation error in every module, like if all the .nb files where invalid:
- no sm signature at 0 in Splash
- no 7 * jump +5 at start of gsm
- no ECEC at 0x40 in OS image
- no IPL at 4 in IPL image
- no ECEC at 0x0040 in SPL image
any ideas?

I've tried the method outlined in the originating post but it doesn't seem to work for me on my Preproduction Hermes. This is what happens:
1) Format 1GB Micro SD card to FAT32 via Windows (right click and select Format).
2) Extract .nbh file from ROM image.
3) Rename .nbh file to HERMIMG.nbh and copy to SD card.
4) Put SD card in phone and start in bootloader (as specified)
5) The screen goes white for a second and then an error message pops briefly (about a millisecond! I had to do about 20 times before I could be sure about what it said). The error message was "No Image file!"
6) Reverts back to bootloader.
Have tried this with all of the English ROMs listed on the Wiki and get the same result each time. I'm not connected to the PC during all of this. The only file that exists on the SD card is the HERMIMG.NBH (exactly that naming format).
Any help would be much appreciated.

ok, follow these instructions:
1) Use the "Explore" option on activesync
2) Erase all the files in storage card
3) Copy HERMIMG.nbh
4) Enter into bootloader
No need to remove the microSD card from your device at all... this is how it worked for me.
No such luck for me I'm afraid. I still get the same error. I don't understand it, what is this Image file it's looking for? Is there anyway of determining it?
@pof - is your Hermes preproduction?
I've tried a smaller SD card of 128MB and renamed the file to HERMIMG.NBH but still no luck. I don't know if it's my phone or if preproduction phones except the filename to be different.
Is a .nbh file an image file?
mine is not preproduction, it's an HTC TyTN (HERM200). My microSD card is 1Gb.
I renamed the .nbh file extracted from the rom upgrade exe to "HERMIMG.nbh", I don't know if it's case sensitive or not. It worked for me this way...
And yes, nbh files are rom upgrade files which contain all the rom parts (splash image, radio, ipl, spl, etc...) and are signed by HTC.
Small soft-pack for removing free space from Gene ROM, make lzx compressing ROM and set Extrom size to 2MB (extrom will be cleared).
After use it and flashing new ROM, you will have 65-70 MB of user storage.
Use it on own risk.
Usage:
1. Unzip this archive to one folder (for example c:\lzx).
2. Put file ruu_signed.nbh from your ROM in this folder too.
3. Run make_lzx.cmd
After it work about 5 min, and you will have new ROM as file GENEIMG.nbh in this folder.
Flashing:
This ROM cant be flashing throught RUU.
You must flash it from SD-Card.
On your device must be HARD-SPL installed !!!
Format SD-Card as FAT32.
Put GENEIMG.nbh on SD-CARD.
Charge your device at 100%!
Insert SD-Card in Gene, press AND HOLD "Camera" button, and do soft-reset.
If you see white screen with "Reading SD content":
Release "Camera" button, wait, and when countdown in left-bottom corner of screen is appear, press "Power" button. Flashing is begin, and approx. 5 min long. After you will see "Success. Press any key". Do soft-reset. Congratulation.
But if you see 3-color screen, then you mast do magic with your SD-Card.

i have successfully flash the rom with this tool, after that i soft reset, device automatically boot into windows mobile 6.1, runs all the basic setup (screen align, date setup), then it automatically load some setup, after setup, device automatically reset..... PROBLEM start here, it stop at the first screen, refuse to boot into windows... i hard reset, soft reset, still the same, anything wrong?

Have you tried appending the temp folder's path in CMD? The process cannot find the file - so appending the path might help. Also, the batch file doesn't seem to recognise long filenames. That could be the reason the files inside your desktop can't be found.
I create GENEIMG.nbh from a wm6.1's nbh file by your tool and flash it successfully. But it stop at the first screen, refuse to boot into windows... i hard reset, soft reset, still the same, anything wrong? Thanks a lot!

Every ROM cant be flashed from SD card.You must make it to boot from SD card.Also make sure that you have formatted SD card in FAT32 and proper chunk size.

why cant you upgrade from the bootloader (rainbow). did you security unlock or use hardspl? have you tried a hard reset?
if you are not unlocked/hardspl and hardreset doesnt work then you must flash an origional carrier ROM meant for your device.
You jast need to rename your .nbh file to nikeimg.nbh, and then push the camera button while turning on device. Then follow the onscreen instructions.

when i flash from mcrosd,the update,start immediately after loading....i think that in your case,something is wrong....are you sure that you rename in caps letters?...is "NIKEIMG.nbh" and not "nikeimg.nbh",for example...
But what is meant with "two files"? One file must be the NBH Image but what's the other file? CustomRUU.exe?

The filename must be NIKEIMG.nbh! Try it with big letters instead of normal letters!
i've already use NIKEIMG.nbh but it still hung at "loading"

if you havent hardspl ... it only work via USB!!!

I need help with installing an OEM AT&T rom to my phone. My usb gave out on it and I need to return it to the store. The only thing is that the file that I have is an EXE file. can I put that on my memory card and run it just like that or do I need to do it another way?

Open the .exe with winrar, extract the .nbh file inside, rename it to RAPHIMG.NBH and place it on the root directory of a microsd card (which must be formatted as FAT32)
hold volume down, press the soft reset button w/stylus
should bring up 3 color screen and prompt you to flash

I did the same thing another way I guess I should share it with you as well. I put the phone into bootloader mode by holding the power button and volume down as I turned the Fuze on. Then I connected my phone to the computer via usb and ran the exe... It worked like a charm!

Take that rom and upack it with wrar and the name the .nbh file into leoimg.nbh and the copy it to yout sd card. You sd card must be formatted into fat32. Put your sd card in the phone and go into the bootscreen (hold down the volume button and press the power button to do that). Then follow the instructions on the screen.

I m sorry to say but I think it is either hardware related or SPL related problems. Maybe it is now the time for you to bring it to HTC repair center.
