im trying to update the radio on my niki200 and am having problems
i have hard spl 1.22 on there.
when i try to flash radio 1.71.09.01 it gets to 100% then has flash write error 226.
so i then thought that id need to secuity unlock, so tried that and when flashing special radio gets to 95% and locks up
any ideas?

There is a reason the instructions for SuperCID say to make sure you have HardSPL 1.15 MFG!

What I did to solve the 95 % problem is to first flash the lowest radio there is Nike Radio 1.58.11.07), then flash the radio from the SuperCID thread, then you can do the SuperCID, and then upgrade to any radio you seem fit. If you read through the SuperCID thread you can see that there are many people with the 95 % problem so there may be more solutions, I would recommend reading through the thread first because there may be other solutions.
I dont know about the flash write error, but this is at least how I fixed the 95 % error, cause it's very annoying
Hi everyone, I need help please. I am trying to flash a WM 6.5 ROM to my NIKI 100 (20 keys) but I cant seem to find a HardSPL that will work on my phone I always end up getting "ERROR[262]" I followed the steps to flash sspl-1.16-NIKE.exe on my phone in order to flash a HardSPL but still the same problem.
I have Official 2.09.405.1 ROM, Radio - 1.65.28.25. If I go into bootloader mode it shows: NIKI 100
SPL-1.22.0000
CPLD-4.
Is there anyone that can tell me wich HardSPL I need?? So far I"ve tried -
flash-HardSPL-Niki, HardSPL-1.15mfg-Nike, HardSPL-1.16.Nike, HardSPL-1.22-Nike-shipped and Flash-uspl-Niki.

i have tytn with spl 1.04,rom 1.18 and radio pof's 1.16 ,supercid
tried to upgrade main rom a few times with different roms
the process completes successfully but afterwards the tytn just stays on the htc logo and doesn't boot up windows
the only way i can bring it back is by flashing to htc 1.18 rom through bootloader
any ideas what's wrong?

yup! that was my fear... the new ROM fails to boot because you got bad blocks in NAND flash. Luckily it only affects the ExtROM.

Unfortunately we don't know a method to fix bad blocks yet, you can start researching yourself. AFAIK the ExtROM is FAT16 (someone correct me if i'm wrong)... so try to find a formatting tool for that.
If you want to upgrade the ROM, I suggest you to flash 1.01-MFG bootloader and flash only OS.nb using 'lnb' command. It's explained in the wiki.

while I had upgrading only radio to 1.38 the process has interrupted
I had removed the battery and the tytn start but at boot no gms appears instead the radio version then it freezes on windows startup.
I need to reflash the radio firmware but I can do that from active sync.
i have bl 1.04 can anyone help me?

i have tried to read all the post about bricked tytn.
Then I have tried to use the kilt methid but my device show a blank screen after the attach. I wait more than 30 minutes after that but without result, so I think this way is not good for me.
Anyway I have use the hard spl 1,10 for the radio upgrade.
I can boot in bootloader spl 1.04 so I hope this a good thing
any ideas?

yeah, get a regular RUU for your device, an *official* one and update with it.
if you have SPL 1.10.Oli already flashed on the phone, there is something better we can do... but clearly it sounds like you haven't

will not work, 'cos he has SPL 1.04 and htc_boot 0108 (as he was flashing 1.38 radio), so he needs 1.09 to reflash the radio.
I'm closing this thread, as I see juggero has already posted in the right place.
i have upgraded a few before
used Olipro's tool, flash SPL, then unlock / CID unlock
flash using file from xda
but this particular unit, HTC branded
everything goes smooth, except when trying to flash WM6, it will get stuck at 1% and then give communcation error.
i can flash back to original HTC rom OR dopod rom, proving CID is indeed unlocked but it just won't flash WM6..
what can be wrong ?

used ATHENA_WM6_Flasher instead of ATHENA_X7500_WM6_Flasher and it worked

I'd the same problem and i found that it stops when it is updating GPS, the rom you've used doesn't have the GPS update, could you please check if the GPS works with the WM6 now or not! mine isn't working even if i downgrade to WM5 .. Wifi is acting strange as well ..

GPS not working could be related to when using unlocker - step 3
the radio rom is incharge of GPS / wifi / i believe, flashing with original WM5 should fix it if anything
i did double check that STEP 3 is done successfully, and it does work and it confirms that the phone is SIM/CID unlocked, if i try to flash the WM5 rom with the it stops at the GPS part! could it be bad blocks in the NAND or so!
i did try to flash using the Tmob 1.2 DE version that is the only T-mobile Wm5 around, it has the same problem, stopping when updating the SIRFBoodloader.nb, and the error 00018003 in red at the top of the screen that when i use the SD for updating, updating through the cable/windows gives me a communication error... i called HTC asking them for support they forwarded me to the maintenance section and they don't answer there phone .. sh***T

GPS not working
I unlocked, had problems at step 2 (black screen), upgraded to AP3, reboot cycle, got that fixed, upgraded to AP4 and everything is good but no GPS. I'm sure it has to do with the unlock process not completing.
How do I flash just the GPS portion?

What is your radio version. AP4 needs 1,50 or greater. if this is the case upgrade the radio to 1.50 ot 1.57 which is available in this forum.

Ok, I give up. I've been searching all night and I cannot find an answer - all the answers that I have found seem to have driven me and my device further to a state that is unrecoverable.
First I couldnt update the rom at all because it crashed mid way, then I finally did get an OS up and running, yet with no radio - no imei or phone functions. I couldnt update radio rom, and I couldnt revert to the original. I now have just a boot loader, that I cannot install anything on to, at all.

I still have no radio version, nor imei, and spl/ipl is still 1.01. I'm trying to update radio rom, but it hangs at 0%.
i take it youve ruled out a bad usb connection? have you considered trying the SD CARD method of upgrading your rom?
thats all but ruled out, as i havent got an sd reader attached.

I have the same probleem with my t mobile vario 2. I can only upgrade OS ONLY rom, when I try to flash radio it freeze 0% error 262. I've tried evrything from wiki but nothing has worked jet. I hoop sameone can help us.. thanks

have you considered SIM/CID unlocking your phone? just a thought. not a definite solution. proceed with the latter (CID) AT YOUR RISK as ive heard changing CID to SUPER CID will make your device SUPER CID for eternity (?) and may void any warranty that you have..

And updated to Hard-SPL v7 fine
Then I got to the Radio update step, I tried the radio it said (1.43)
It got to 7% and failed,
Then I tried 1.48 and 1.50
The same happened.
Why can't I update my Radio? Is there a trick or something you guys use?/

That guide works 99% of the time. There is really only a small handful of possibilities:
1) You did not follow the guide exactly
2) The file you got for radio is corrupt (unlikely since you tried multiple files)
3) Your connection is unstable (unlikely since SD card method fails)
Hmm... Try the bricked hermes thread - is a sticky in the Hermes forum. It is long, but you may find something. It seems to me that the 7% hang on radio happens from time to time - but I am not sure if there is a standard fix. Maybe try the google search in my signature - use terms like hermes radio 7% brick or something. I am sure it is fixable. You got HardSPL to load properly, right? So your bootloader screen shows SPL version 2.10 Olipro or something like that?
The interesting thing is that you got it back to oringinal ROM & radio... You are using the latest Custom_RUU to do all the work. Makes me wonder if it is a CID problem, although I don't think you would even get to 7%, you would just get an immediate failure.
You could use MTTY to restore the radio back to factory I beleive..
You might also need to make sure your device is CID unlocked..

Then I tried the SD way, the same.
Now. I'm doing the SIM and CID unlocker v3a by pof (Did it the SD way) and the IPL update completed with OK, The SPL went OK to, but the radio failed so i did a reset now I going to run that unlocker program and see if it succeeds,
then I will run the Factory ROM and restore it to how it was, then I will update to the Black Satin Cooked ROM, and I'll just have to stick with the old radio until I find a new method that might work.
Whats the go with the downgrading to bootloader 1.04 like it says in the wiki everywhere, what will that do that will help the radio update that the newest bootloader can't?

If the CID unlocker runs fine, try the radio again. There is no reason that a new one would not work, if the older one works routinely.
The downgrade stuff is for people who want to return it to it's near-exact shipped condition - usually for warranty or sale purposes.
So, I ran the original factory rom
I did it via the SD card, as it is a lot more useful this way.
Heres the Results:

WTF WHY THE F##K DID IT STOP AT GSM AGAIN FFS!
you can obviosly see why I'm pissed, its acting up like the radio is a BANK VAULT with 8" STEEL. I just can't flash it at all, but for some reason I have ran this ROM a while back and had no problems, so there must be a way

It seems like it - so the SAME ROM will not work now either?
I ran the newest dopod wm6 rom which was only the OS, some splash screens and the EXTROM, and to my amazement the GSM worked, the Radio and IMEI reappeared in the device information, but after a soft reset its gone again. it seems the GSM is still there but I can't touch it at all.
When I did the SIM and SuperCID unlocker it gets to the hacked GSM and fails,
but after a reset, I ran the tool and ticked bot options. then it said Success!
How can I check to see if it worked.
My bootloader is 1.40.Olipro (the one the SIM and CID unlocker downgraded me to)

You can use mtty to see if the supercid process worked. The Hermes Wiki - in particular THIS SECION will be very helpful.

I spent HOURS messing with **** on my phone, downgrading bootloaders, trying different ROMs, Stuffing with every command I could find for MTTY and anything else imaginable.
I got the radio to update, but its still stuffed
I added this to the Wiki because it works:
METHOD 2
Also, Ive found that Hard-Reseting the device restores GSM.
1. Remove the battery
2. wait 10 second
3. Re-insert Battery
4. Turn the device on
5. Watch for "NO GSM" on boot
6. if you see it. Return to step 1. (sometimes you have to do it up to 20 times)
If you see two lines of text flash up instead of 'No GSM' it means the GSM is functioning. For me this restored my radio in just 4 tries.
This ONLY works if your radio is NOT corrupted, but if you tried to updgrade and stalled between 0% and 15% of the GSM upgrade, it depends on the radio version you were trying to flash. But it's worth a try, the only downside is if your phone crashes, it will more than likely boot up with 'No GSM' so you'll have to do all over again.

I did what the last post said, had it booted with my radio working, and then I ran the RUU for the GSM 1.50.00.00 radio upgrade. and THIS IS UNBELIEVEABLE, AFTER ALL THAT STUPID STALLING ON 0 and 7%, it UPGRADED!!!!!
I have exactly teh same situation here.... my device is SUPERCID and its stalls on GSM upgrade every time
I already tried like 10 different versions of radio bootloader updates and none of them worked for me !!! It always stalls at 11% or 7%

There is a defenitite fault in RADIO ROM and I wish I should have never tried to upgrade to 1.50.0 . Last coule of days have been a nightmare for me. I read the entire foruma and stil could not find a solution to my problem.

Also whatever ROM i install after it starts for the first time it starts to customize and install oem apps it stops while customizing at the theme part i don't know why but it did .
do a "checkimage" in MTTY, if your radio is corrupt then that method wont work, also about the updates stalling, do task 28 in MTTY, then reboot
