Phone switching to dialpad on DCD3.2.6 - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I HAVE searched for this & can't find an answer....I have DCD 3.2.6 & everytime I close ANY application, my phone switches to the dialpad instead to Today or whatever I had open beforehand. For example, I'll be on the today screen, send a text, close my text messaging & instead of going back to Today, it shows the dialpad. It does this with EVERY app & I'm going CrAzY!!!! lol Any help guys?

Remove Battery icon on the taskbar with clock.

Try this...
HKLM/software/microsoft/shell
add new dword ShowTitleBarClock dword=1
softreset....and enjoy..
only works with AKU2.2 only which atom have.
FYI atom got AKU2.2.1
It doesn't work. This Dword is removing during soft reset. I can't save it. I use Resco Registry AddIn

remember to exit resco (menu->exit) registry, not just tapping the x on the top.. wait for 20 second and reset.

How to show both Date & Clock in the taskbar?
Tried this?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WM5_Tweaks_Other
Change the display of the clock in the taskbar
The clock in the taskbar can be changed to show not only the time, but also the date, or just the date, or nothing at all.
To show nothing:
Code:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal)
To show just the clock:
Code:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)
To show just the date:
Code:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)
To show both the date and the clock:
Code:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 3 (DWORD decimal)
Note 1: If you switch to the Analog clock display, the date will remain visible -through- the Analog clock
Note 2: Setting the clock to show 'nothing' will still keep the reserved space, showing the taskbar background, and obscure any icons that will shift to the right.
Note 3: Your date may get obscured by the space reserved for the OK/Close button in the top-right. You can fix this my adding spaces at the end of your 'Short Date Format'. See also the tweak on 'Change the Short Date Format'

( requires a soft reset, I believe )
Thanks ZeBoxx. It works!!!
i donno :? but it seems tht the registry keys i create and edits i make are gone wen i softreset.. tried with resco registry editor and phm regedit.. y does my atom's registry dont save the changes i make?
Make sure you either
- wait a little while after changing the registry
or
- use the shutdown feature; press and hold the on/off button, it'll pop up a question asking if you really want to shut down (on Wizard anyway - I suspect it's a WM5 feature, so it should be on Atom as well).
Doesn't work on the Atom. It will suspend when you release the button no matter if you've held it down for one or 20 seconds.
yeah, mastiff.. the shutdown feature doesnt work on the atom.. however, waiting a little while has helped me.. all the registry tweaks are workin alrite for me.. i stay for abt a min or two and then restart my atom.. how long shud i wait actually? if its just a couple of secs, then am wastin a lot of my time.. :lol:
I usually just wait 20 seconds - should be enough.. ymmv
ok what are the steps in PHM Reg edit, i have done this so many times and yes it is saved but nothing changes that damn battery bar to a clock..
do i highlight shell and add new Dword or do i add a new key then dword what?.... tried both them to no avail...
Sooz - are you sure you have an AKU2.2 ROM installed?
If you don't, then there's no way to replace the battery icon with the default clock on the Today screen. For application screens, you can go to the clock configuration, More tab, and check the checkbox "show clock in all programs" or somesuch.
so close and yet so far away... ok the registry entry does display the time and date on any atom, however the registry entry to get rid of the battery indicator doesnt work, therefore im left with both the battery indicator and the time and date in the same place... alas will remove for now till someone works out how to ditch that battery indicator.
Cheers
Hi,
May somebody add the instruction including screen shots?
Step by step how to remove the battery icon from the taskbar?
I tried so many times to add as suggest by “mazam”, but nothing happen.
I am using EdReg to change the registry
Maybe I do something wrong, in the place:
HKLM/software/microsoft/shell
step 1.
I click insert
-here I see 4 options (String, Binary, MultiString, DWord)
-I choose Dword
step 2. (And here is my question)
Here I have 2 places to fulfills
Key: what to write here
Value: what to write here
what a difference a few hrs makes.... ok today its playing ball, registry entries all workin including Clock instead of Battery!!... ahh life is good again!
to check AKU version go to system/about it should read 2.2.0 or higher in build if so the the reg entry above will work, if not try the entries on wiki and or wait for Microsoft to fix, they say they are going to!
Cheers
Footnote for Registry Entries......
for me what works to save the entries is to wait for 30 secs or more, then soft reset while still in Registry Editor PHM, if i exit the program then soft reset it doesnt hold the changes no matter how long i wait.

Default Windows Mobile battery icon

Hi there,
The latest devices like the Touch and TyTN II are showing a Windows Mobile default battery icon on the top toolbar (next to the clock, speaker, etc.).
It's a simple battery with 4 "power bars" (and charging indication) to show the battery status.
Is there a way to have this icon in Windows Mobile 6 on the HTC X7500 as well? On other devices which have it, it looks like it's a standard Windows Mobile 6 feature (correct me if it isn't) so shouldn't it be some sort of registry value to set?
See the attachment.
Thanks!!
Try this :
Go to your registry editor and navigate to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock and change to value to 1, exit using the apps exit function and not your X button, power off for 15 secs and power on to allow the registry edit to flush to the ROM and soft reset.
If the ShowTitleBarClock id not there then just add a new DWORD Value and key in ShowTitleBarClock as teh DWORD Value and input "1" in DWORD Data.

The ShowTitleBarClock DWORD is there already and set to 1.
This is for the clock right? I was not talking about the clock, but about the battery icon, as shown in my attached image.
Hi,
Ok ok, I should hit search a little more. I found the solution here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1250593&postcount=56
Still a pity since the battery only shows when you disable the clock....
that doesn't work for me
I add the new DWORD and it just disappears after it is rebooted. And it changed my clock from showing the time to the date??? all else is the same. I don't get it.
This is how it reads:
The TBOpt was already there
ShowTitleBarClock 1
TBOpt 2

Post Your Registry Edits

I looked through the threads and didn't see any like this so I hope this will help those of us who need it
I have researched a number of different threads on different forums and was hoping that all registry tweaks could be posted in one spot.
So if you know of any that would help please post them here. If I missed another thread like this please let me know.
Thanks in advance for everyones input!!
Registry Edits
Disable start-up sound / change it -
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation] Rename both 'StartupGif' and 'StartupWav' to new values, or leave blank to disable.
Increase your screen's sensitivity.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\TouchPanel] change PressureThreshold. Default is 37 Decimal, it is reported 240 decimal is a good new value for this.
You can disable auto-wakeup when keyboard is opened.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\DeviceMap\Keybd] Create new dword "SlideWakeup" with value of 0 and soft reset. To revert, delete the key or set it's data to 1.
Change the soft keys on the home screen.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila], change HomeLSKPath and HomeRSKPath. HomeLSKText/HomeRSKText = the text.
Increase TouchFlo's sensitivity, so you don't have to push as hard to scroll.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings] increase FingerPressure. Default is 16. I am having good luck on 128, I may raise it higher. Higher = more sensitive, lower = less sensitive.
**Only confirmed for Sprint (From me, I'm sure other carriers are different)**
Hack Internet Sharing to work:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Delete Extension key, set/create MaxCMCon=0 (decimal). [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] Set ForceCellConnection="Sprint"
You can make your phone stop making noise when you enable/disable the radio.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA\FlightModeOnOff] and change Sound_on and Sound_off to desired sound, or blank for no sound.
Enable/Disable mute call when phone is flipped over -
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE] Set FaceDownMuteRing=1 to enable, or =0 to disable.
Disable SMS Sent Notification:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs] Set SMSNoSentMsg to 1
I just copied a few things that I have used frequently. Here are the links to two threads that have the info posted above. Please click the "Thanks" button for both Baffles and iTouch24. They took lots of time making these useful threads.

Thanks!!
Great posts so far. Unfortuneately I have nothing to offer ;c(
This thread didn't get much attention -lol.
How about this: Post any Reg Edit that is not already in Adv. Cfg, DTweak, or TF3D Cfg. Most if not all of these are already in those programs.
How about this.....post everything in one spot so people do not have to search through 10 different threads.
I'm calling for the assistance of anyone knowledgeable in registry hacks. I was looking through the entire registry and came across a key that I thought may prove rather useful to a reg hacker. [HKLM->System->State->Phone] and the DWORD to look for is Signal Strength and Signal Strength Raw. I tried changing the value of Signal Strength from 10 to 500 and didn't notice a change. I own the XV6850, verizon's touch pro, and was wondering if it would maybe have an effect if I changed the values and then dialed *228 opt.2 to update roaming list? would someone look into this and see if this might be useful?

Id like to know about this too. Itd be nice if we could boost the signal strength a little bit because I have noticed a drop since I switched over to the touch pro. If its not possible by registry then what could we do to increase the signal strength?

[\HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default] set Options to one of the values below (Default on Sprint was 13)
Changes take effect immediately
0 - Icon
1 - Icon and Audio
2 - Icon and Vibrate (SSS)
3 - Icon, Audio and Vibrate (L)
4 - Same as 0
5 - Same as 1
6 - Same as 2
7 - Same as 3
8 - Icon and Bubble
9 - Icon, Bubble and Audio
10 - Icon, Bubble and Vibrate (LLS)
11 - Icon, Bubble, Audio and Vibrate (L)
12 - Bubble
13 - Bubble and Audio
14 - Bubble and Vibrate (SSL)
15 - Bubble, Audio and Vibrate (L)
The following do not reset the keyboard after sending message. What that means is that as you type and the software is doing the word complete, after sending, the word complete dialog still shows on the screen for the last word typed.
16 - Icon and No KB Reset
17 - Icon, Audio and No KB Reset
18 - Icon, Vibrate (SSS) and No KB Reset
19 - Icon, Audio, Vibrate (L) and No KB Reset
20 - Same as 16
I stopped trying values when I got to 20 since from 16 on they appeared to be the same as 0-15 but with the KB issue I mention above. Also, all the S's and L's represent quantity and length of the vibrations. I tried each setting about 10 times and 3 of the 10, the last vib was opposite of what I show. In most cases though, it did as I show above.
After I found these, I did a search and found that a few others had found and posted the above as well. So I wasn't the first, but I did find it on my own.
Enable Roaming Only option
Some networks may already have this enabled already, but Sprint didn't by default.
[HKLM\Software\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSetting] change ItemCount
Change from 2 to 3, save and soft reset. After it reboots, simply goto,
This will add a third option called Automatic-B which is Roaming Only in disguise. To switch from Sprint Only (or your network only) to Roaming Only, goto the following,
Start > Settings > Personal > Phone > Services > Roaming
Again, the location is on my phone which is a Sprint Touch Pro, so the exact location under the Start button may be different for your network.
Also be aware that some networks frown upon more roaming minutes then standard minutes so be aware of which setting you are currently running.
I found this over at PPCGeeks.com

I've heard of horror stories of Sprint dropping customers for roaming over half the time. I guess their reasoning is, if they are roaming that much, they'd be better off with a different carrier.
Yeah, I switch mine quite a bit, but no way near half the usage. But it's definitely something to be aware of if you use the function. The sad thing is, allot of Sprint phones have it available by default. I was at a Sprint store the other day and just walked down the line checking each phone they had. The majority of them add the function available.

i was wondering if anyone knew how to get the xv6850, verizon's htc touch pro, to force roaming because i tried this hack and it didn't work. this would be really nice to do if i could switch networks while at home cause i get barely any signal in my apt.
When you went to the registry location, you may or may not have seen several different ItemName options. For instance, on my phone there were the following,
ItemName1 = Spring Only
ItemName2 = Automatic
ItemName3 = Automatic-B
ItemName4 = StandardYours may differ by having more or less then what I show or they could be in a different order. Also, take a look at the following location and see what ItemName entries exist. It may be listed there but need to be added to the original location manually.
[HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\NetworkService]
If you only have 2 ItemName entries listed, then you could add the third by doing the following,
Change the ItemCount from 2 to 3
ItemCount = 3add the following String and Dword to this second location if not already present,
ItemName3 = STRING(Automatic-B)
ItemValue3 = DWORD(3)Then change the ItemCount in the first location to 3
ItemCount = 3and add the following String and Dword to the first location,
ItemName3 = STRING(Automatic-B)
ItemValue3 = DWORD(3)
But let us know what values you currently show in both locations and we can probably figure it out.
Again, I got all this information from the PPCGeeks thread I mentioned previously.

i tried ur method for my phone and now i have a permanent unread email notification and every time i soft reset my phone the itemvalue2 is set to 4 and i have to change my network service to automatic manually. not only that but the changes that i added to the registry aren't even visible for me to alter or remove anymore after i did the soft reset. do you have a solution for this before i have to hard reset??
if you can post your registry backup to a post that i can download, i might be able to restore it but only if you have the verizon htc touch pro xv6850. if you don't have it please try to find it for me because it would be a huge pain for me to have to do a hard reset.

Unfortunately, I have the Sprint Touch Pro, so my registry would not be compatible with yours. Were you able to delete the additions you made or did you simply change a value of one of the entries?
If it helps, these were the settings I had at the following locations;
[HKLM\Software\OEM\InitiProv\PhoneSetting]
ItemCount = DWORD(3) <-- Only thing I had to change on my phone, from 2 to 3)
ItemName1 = STRING(Sprint Only)
ItemName2 = STRING(Automatic)
ItemName3 = STRING(Automatic-B)
ItemName4 = STRING(Standard)
ItemValue1 = DWORD(1)
ItemValue2 = DWORD(4) <-- Yes 4 (don't know why)
ItemValue3 = DWORD(3)
ItemValue4 = DWORD(4)
ServiceName = STRING(Roaming)
ServiceTitle = STRING(Phone: Roaming)
[HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\NetworkService]
ItemCount = DWORD(3)
ItemName1 = STRING(Sprint Only)
ItemName2 = STRING(Automatic)
ItemName3 = STRING(Automatic-B)
ItemValue1 = DWORD(1)
ItemValue2 = DWORD(4) <-- Yes 4 (Again, not sure why)
ItemValue3 = DWORD(3)
ServiceName = STRING(Roaming)
ServiceTitle = STRING(Phone: Roaming)
Hope this helps. If still a problem, I'm gonna edit the thread above and remove the edits and direct people to the PPCGeeks thread instead.
yeah the issue is that the additions i made disappeared and it won't let me change the settings back the way they were. i also have that annoying unread email notification on the tf3d that i'm not sure how that got there.

Scrollbar in Start menu?

I've been playing with a S710 with S740 ROM, and noticed it had a scrollbar in the start menu; so when you press 'down', the selected icon moves to a new row of icons instead of popping back up to the first row, like on my S740.
Been googlin', and found 2 programs (SmartTweaker and Mobitweak, both shareware) that claim they can do it, but I was thinking more of a reg hack.
Anyone with a clue?
Edit: Found it.. just when you're getting desperate you find the right stuff:
Create a DWORD using a regeditor in: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell
with name and value: RockerSupport = 1
so you have now a scroll bar instead the button more...??
am i wright?

I tried this, but unfortunately it doesn't work on my S740.
Have you tried resetting your phone after you modified (and saved) it in the register?
And it will NOT make you lose the softkey 'More'; it just enables the extra feature of scrolling down. Tap down a couple of times and all the icons shift along.
Well, I just tried it again (removed the key and put it in again) and now it works.
So I must have done something wrong before...
Anyway, thank you for the tip.
Thnks.. It's working nice over here.
Only is standing down under in the screen More.. But it's fine to me
Thnks

[Q] softkey assigment in Messages

Hi
I`m looking for solution for such a problem
i would like to assign a program (unaccent) to softkey "new" in Messages (menu)
i`m sure it must be somewhere in registry - but where?
The idea is to run not new message but unaccent new message
something like below
74. Add All Contacts to Home Screen Left Softkey
By default the left softkey on the the Sense home tab is coded to Phone which is pointless and a waste because you can get to the same Phone page by pressing the Send hardware key. Change it to the All People page (eliminating 2 taps) by using the following reg entry:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila
HomeLSKPath = !"\Windows\manila.exe" --switchtopage Manila://people\browserlayer\?.page
HomeLSKText = Contacts
Maybe somebody could help me?
best regards
