I have now 2 Hermes - one O2 and one Orange and i bought both in ebay.
I´m going to keep the O2 and sell the other. In O2 i have wm5.0 and in the Orange the wm6.1 and i suspect maybe a different ROM and some other programs ( for the battery for example).
I noticed that the Orange consumes very little power compared to the O2.
This can be because the software and/or because the battery itself.
This is the specs:
O2 -> 3.7VDC - 1300mAh "Manufactured by SANYO" in china
Orange-> 3.7VDC - 1350mAh "Manufactured by Celxpert Energy" in Taiwan.
Should i change them ? What do you think ?
p.s. i noticed too that in the Running programs i have always a lot of programs in the O2 even when i already closed them (am i doind something wrong?) and with the Orange that never happens.
There are lots of threads about batteries. Plz, use the search function first. I'm sure you will find the info you want.

What is the difference other than software between the T-mobile Phone edition PDA and the Siemens SX56. I have heard from the reviews that the battery life is considerably longer on the SX56 verses the T-mobile. Is that true? Is the hardware slightly different? Any info would be greatly appreciated...
An Newbee...
The only other difference is the color of the device is different (one is more silver and the other is champagne)
Differences? SX56
How come the online reviews rate the SX56 with longer battery life than the T-mobile? Is it in the settings or setup in the backlight or something?

I have many units in both! They are the same hardware and software. The difference is the case color. Both are made by HTC and that is how they differentiate the units.
Myabe the battery life has something to do with the way the units poll the providers. I heard AT&T has better code, but I cannot verify that...

hello guys,
simple question,
I can buy an MDA 2, which is cheaper than the XDA 2.
But i wanted to know if there are any differences, besides the design?
Is it locked to t-mobile? Could it be unlocked?
thanks for your help!
the hardware is the same of cause as they are both Himalaya which are oem'd from htc
about software difference then donno
about sim locks then http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/xda2unlock
thanks for your prompt reply.
So what do you suggest?
go for MDA, or XDA? and pay a 100 USD more...
donno non of them are for sale around here
since o2 and tmobile are not present on the mobile market
in this country
i got the qtek flavor myself which dont come with a phone subscription it's of cause not locked but since it's without a subscription it cost more
I would suggest that you buy the MDA ( if you can life with the design ) and upgrade it to what ever you like. ROMs are many around here...
I peronally like the customizition from O2, expecially the UserInterface and I don't what to miss it. The blue is also by far not so annoying than pink is ;-)
I have the MDA2
Just drive over the border (to Germany) buy the sim free mda2 from t-mobile which will set you back arround €750, and they have lots in stock.
Or even BETTER wait till after CIBIT and prices will come down quite a bit
i can have an MDA 2 for 560 €. i should get it?
well i suppose it depend on if it's simfree or if you want to use the mobil company because they often bill you a penelty if you just unlock the phone and use another sim and such
Hi everybody,
as the shape of the Vodafone version sold over here in Germany is different from the others i would like to know if someone already found a suitable USB-cradle.
Bye
Joachim
I have the same question. Has anyone with the Dopod 838/Wizard 100/Cingular 8125 come across a cradle that fits?
Here is what I've come across:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/desktopcradle/i-mate-k-jam-desktop-cradle_734.htm K-Jam cradle from Boxwave. although emailing them resulted in them saying the cradle was not compatible with the Wizard 100
Although, this one: http://pdaden.com/shop/catalog/prod..._9100_Orange_SPV_M6000_Dopod_838_cat_324.html says it is compatible with the Dopod 838 but looks the same as the Boxwave one
Another one that claims it is compat with Dopod 838:

If anyone has a Wiz 100 and gotten a cradle, please let us know which one you have and how well it works.

After having been able to get in touch with QTek France, they pointed me towards HTM.
HTM told me that to get this update (if it's the last one), THEY had to do it, that they will NOT provide the update on an internet site and that it will cost us poor froggies 59€ !!!!
Can someone confirm this ?
Hello,
Why don't you use the last Swiss Rom Orange? I upgrade 3 days ago and it's perfect for Orange France users, because it's french and Orange
And last but not least, That's totally free!!!!
Regards,
Well, i must change my signature by the way now....
Well I could, thou it's not an SPV M3100 that I have, but the plain french version of the HTC TyTN.
So if any warranty issues appear, I won't be eligible
Hi all,
I am planning to buy the HTC Hero in Hong Kong, but since I have never used an Android phone before. there are a few questions that I would like some answers:
(Assumption) If I buy an imported UK or EU Hero tomorrow:
1. Can it display Asian languages on websites ... etc? If by default it can't, is there anyway to get around it?
2. Is the Chinese input built-into the system as an option like the Iphone? If not, is there a way to install the input system into it.
3. Will there be any restriction on the Android market, similar to Iphone, due to different geographical locations?
4. Any other issues need to beware for purchasing an imported Android?
Many Thanks
1. Yes
2. No. but you can download an chinese input app instead.
3. No.
4. Check if it is a sim-free phone or has it been unlocked already.
sorry to say
been to hk 3 times in the last year and a half...
you won't get one cheaper....i know i have looked when trying to get the latest phones.....buy it from the u.k.....you have been warned
I am from Hong Kong, so I can't reach out for the bundle deals in UK.
Since I can't wait for the local release, I am planning to buy the unlocked version thru UK websites. Therefore I need to make sure the imported ones can fulfil my basic mobile phone needs (Chinese support ... etc).
Yes, there are much less bundle deals in HK, but the tariffs are very cheap here, so there are much less subsidies to the handset price.
