DCD 3.2.6 + SRS WOW HD || Does it work? Anyone? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Hey guys,
Curious about whether 3.2.6 fixed the audio driver issue that began early in the 3.2.x series with SRS WOW HD.
It seems several devices with WinMo 6.1 are now supporting the audio enhancer, but I've yet to figure it out.
Has anyone had any luck replacing drivers or tweaking registry settings? I've been set with 3.2.5 for ages, so I'm hopeful; maybe it works straight out of the gate with 3.2.6?
Let's find a fix.. for great justice!!

please ...let's find a fix
the only way is if i got back to 3.2.0

Bluetooth issues with WM2003SE 2.06.00WWE

Having just upgraded to WM2003SE 2.06 (SIN v3.5) ROM, i've found Bluetooth hedset profile to still not work properly with my Sony HBH-600. I can pair my headset without issue, however when i make calls the headset kicks in for about 2 seconds then passes the call back to the phone.
Can anyone suggest anything to try to fix this?
Bluetooth just wouldn't work reliably with the inital Windows Mobile 2003.
When I upgraded to Windows Mobile 2003 SE (based on 2.02t ROM), my bluetooth headset microphone didn't work (only the XDA handset), this was less than ideal. Now with the WM2003SE 2.06 ROM it's worse than ever!
All this just to talk to someone without a wire......technology, gotta love it!
Thanks for any help!
Can anyone help at all? Thanks
Found the fix
I think i found what my issue was, i was selecting yes to "hands free" profile, hence not getting the "headset" profile offer.
Once i selected the correct profile, guess what, it works now without any issues at all.
Stupid user error!

Widcomm BT Stack (.03) Problems (A2DP)

Since the main widcomm thread has become what I'd tend to call convoluted, I thought I might as well start a new thread in the hopes that somebody has experienced a similar problem and found a fix.
I installed the widcomm stack on an 8525, install went fine (yes, MS BT was disabled during install). Successfully paired my Pulsar 590A's and they seemed to work well. The audio fidelity was an incredible improvement.
The problem was the intermittent stops that occurred several times per song playing MP3's (generally encoded to 192) in Media Player. It was annoying enough that I hard reset, but my God I can't go back. The MS stack, even with the reg hack, is just is too horrible.
I'm running the plain ol 1.34.502.1 ROM with the 1.16 radio.
I should note that I installed HTweakC 2.0, and had run the bluetooth improve audio quality tweak prior to installing the widcomm stack. Don't know if that would make a difference or not.
Things I tried: I removed the HTweakC settings, soft reset. I shut down all the BT services except the high quality audio, soft reset. Deleted and repaired the headset, soft reset. Got fed up, hard reset lmao
So I'm going to take another stab at the widcomm stack, because as aforementioned, after experiencing the wid and then going back to MS, I can't abide the MS stack any longer.
Any suggestions, tips, whatever, would be awesome.

i suggest you watch your program memory levels while playing the 192 bitrate file and while running the widcomm stack... you will find that your device runs out of program memory... as media player required a fair amount of memory to play high bitrate files that only gives you a minimal amount left for the widcomm stack which also requires a decent amount...
i suggest you try mortplayer or a different mp3 player and see if u have the same issues...
Yeah that definately makes sense. I was careful about closing out everything but the media player and the bluetooth manager, but I had wondered if the higher bitrate levels were what was causing some of the problem. I'll try mortplayer and see if I get a better result.
Using MortPlayer is a good idea, especially with your Plantronics headphones, since AVRCP (play/pause/next/back buttons) should work with it.
Excellent, I'll def try that. I've got Widcomm back up and paired. I tried TCPMP first and I definately get less skips, but they do persist. I'll try Mort and see how that does, had just chosen to try TCPMP because it appeared to be less of a CPU hog. I am also wondering if the A2DP fix that Sleuth posted will do anything.
FWIW, I started experiencing more probs last night. Active sync via USB wouldn't work, and the memory issue started popping up. Boy, really is a frustrating issue. The audio quality is like 10x better, it pairs easier with my computers, and I like the interface. But grr, I'm at the point where I think I'm going back to MS again. I'll just bide my time until some of the bugs can be worked out. I really appreciate all the help though guys, this place is a treasure of unspeakable magnitude.
for me the skipping disappeard when using Sleuths A2DP Fix.
and this is a known error, not only with widcomm but with ms stack too.
i do not have the AS error nor memory problems with the widcomm stack, using Xda-live 0.2 and Widocm 0.3.
using mortplayer for music and tcmpg for video , no problems what so ever (except that i must sometimes (quite often) softreset to get my headset to pair (using plantronics 260)

I also have this problems. After install Widcomm stack (I have Windows Mobile VI - BLACK EDITION v1.2 but also happended with WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition), I can't sync via USB. My computer don't detect the Hermes! Is if like I didn't connect to it.
Any solution for this?

Yup, it IS less of a CPU hog unless you use the equalizer - with about 70-80% (see my article in the General forum on the generic CPU usage of all MM players). However, it doesn't support AVRCP - only the latest version(s) of the commercial CorePlayer do so (see my AVRCP-compatibility articles).
If you need both AVRCP and very low CPU usage, go for iPlay.

As has been pointed out in several of my articles (do you follow them? They're all cross-posted to the General forum), if you install the Widcomm BT stack and don't apply the related COM Registry hacks, you can only use the "old" (pre-WM5) ActiveSync approach, NOT the newer. That is, in your case, you don't see your PDA because it'd require a different way of connection than before installing the Widcomm stack.
Try disabling your firewall / antivirus software to see whether they allow for the connection.

It does't - it only sets the MS BT stack quality parameters, NOT those of Widcomm.
Also see my Widcomm & MS BT stack quality-related article in the General forum, where I elaborated on all these parameters.

Please, anybody that make this work let me know how can I do it ... I can't find in the forum ...
I've been working with the Widcomm BT Stack for a week now in combination with a Logitech Mobile Headset HS200. So far this is what I experienced:
XDA Live v0.20
- Connected using MS Stack, no tweaks: Poor sound quality / severe skipping
- Connected using WC Stack, no tweaks: Average sound quality / servere skipping
- Connected using WC Stack, Sleuth255 A2DP fix: Average sound quality / average skipping
HTC AKU 3.3 with 16MB poolsize
- Connected using WC Stack, Sleuth255 A2DP fix, several tweaks: Good Sound quality / average skipping
- Connected using MS Stack, Sleuth255 AD2P fix / workaround: Poor sound quality / almost no skipping.
Here it got interesting. Apparently without the Widcomm BT Stack the skipping was zero to none with all the tweaks. But the MS Stack sucks bigtime, so how much you tweak it won't sound as good as the WC Stack.
Now running WC Stack with Sleuth255's workaround to avoid skipping making some minor changes in the registry. Skipping is brought down to a minimal when using Widcomm BT Stack now, but I'm still not satisfied.
I'm waiting for the XDA v0.30 release, so I can try a 16MB poolsize and A2DP on WM6.
Edit:
Wow HTweak 2.0 greatly improved the sound quality. Still have some minor skipping, but for the time being I can live with this.

I have never had skipping but the sound quality with the WC stack is just way better.
I've edited the LVSW edition to a 10mb pagepool to try how this works as I find the WC stack with normal pagepool to slow.

Hello,
I installed this ROM in my X01HT and WC Stack. After That, I did this:
1. Close BT Manager and turn BT off.
2. Open registry (need Resco Registry plug-in) and make the following changes (no need of soft reset after them):
[HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Applications\0001]
Change ComPortNumber from 8 to 7
[HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0001]
Change ComPortNumber from 9 to 6
Rename [HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial8] to [HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial6] and change these subkeys acordingly
"FriendlyName"="Bluetooth Serial Port COM6:"
"DeviceArrayIndex"=dword:00000006
"Index"=dword:00000006
When you have changed this, suspend (off) the PDA for a few seconds and turn it on again. Then goto Bluetooth Settings- Services-Serial Port-Advanced and verify that thet ports that Widcomm is using are 6 & 7
But now I can't switch on the phone App. When I open the Comm App, and push the "Phone" button, it didn't start.
Please, somebody let me know what I'm doing bad.
Thanks
Cesar

What ROMs have 16 Mg of PoolSize? What is that ROM? Is it for Hermes?
i am just wondering if anyone else has the same problem with the widcomm for hermes as I do, when running the memory footprint goes from around 25 down to 2 mb in a matter of hours.
Anyone else noticed? (I am using black v.2 wm6)
(tried wit for 2 days without widcomm, no memeory loss, with widcomm memory loss was unavoidable)
anyone with a solution?

Fixed MS A2DP stack in WM6 roms ?

Hi there,
tried to google but couldn't find definitive answer, so does any of the WM6 roms are based on the final WM6, meaning they include the fixed MS A2DP stack and run A2DP flawlessly ? If yes, which ? Thanks in advance. A2DP with good sound quality is the only feature I really want.
You can use this cab !.
Thanks, but its not what I'm looking for, I do have A2DP on my Prophet, but not the hissfree one of WM6 final..
As far as I am aware the only ROM with new MS BT stack is the PDAMobiz 2.0b4. That works well for A2DP.
I have flashed the Fantastic B4 rom. The A2DP of this rom has great sound quality without hissy sound. But there is a problem of skipping which is very annoying. Is there anybody who has the solution of this?
Anyone know if the new 4.0.0.6 Touch Rom has the new A2DP ?

No, the sound quality of 4.0.0.6 Touch is not comparable to that of Fantastic B4.
You can tweak the registry to get 10x better sound in the PV rom.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2 DP\Settings]
"BitPool"=58
"MaxSupportedBitPool"85
"UseJointStereo"=dword:0
all value in DEC
Hi
I have tried the registry change and the cab files suggested in the forum but the sound is still hissing on my iTech R35, not sure how we can installed the new MS bluetooth stack on other roms apart from the Fantastic rom which gives me the best sound so far.
Thanks

HELP: Michy’s R4.1 and skipping voice problems during conversation with Jabra BT 8010

Guys,
Once again I am turning to you with a problem which is driving me nuts… After several attempts (ROMs and registry settings), I simply cannot get it working. I am using Jabra BT8010 handset and I get complaints from some, but not all, people I talk to over the phone that my voice is skipping. Some fragment of the words (a letter or two) is simply missing - not heard – by my talking partner. This has also happend to me when using official or irus ROM!!
First let me say that after I installed Michy’s R4.1 ROM the things with BT has changed a bit – in positive direction. I noticed that because the Jabra connects to the phone faster then before, when phone is rebooting the BT connection sign is gone immediately, etc. This was not the case with the original ROM nor iruses ROM 0mb PP. At this point I’d would like to thank Michy for that, since the file transfer to and from Athena now works almost flawlessly as well.
Please note that I get no skipping sound in downlink direction: nor during phone call nor during streaming of music or videos - the sound quality is just great!
But the voice skipping is just frustrating. What to do? I have tried twitching several settings in registry: BitPool, MaxBitPool, Sample rate and Use Joint Stereo. But, no combination resulted in no-skipping sound. Is it Jabra? Could you suggest what to do next in order to get this working!!!
PLEASE HELP!
Uros
I don't use bluetooth headset myself, but would suggest that you try out the latest R5.1. I find R5.1 to be much better than R4.1 in the data connection, GPS, and WIFI communication, and have no problem in bluetooth file transfer. However, I recommend that you use the latest radio version 1.58.
I find my VOIP experiencing voice quality improvement as compared to R4.1 with radio 1.57.
After trying it, I'd be eager to hear if that helps.
Cheers.
eaglesteve,
Meanwhile I got my hands on Motorola HS810. Guess what: no voice skipping or distortion what so ever!! So is there something wrong with my Jabra or simply the BT or its settings are not matching to Jabra? Someone suggested to delete the Bitpool and MaxBitPool from the registry to get protocol handshake, i.e. the device negotiate for optional parameters…?
I will try R5.1 and report back.
One question though in regards to BT and file transfer since you mentioned it: the feature to make my device visible to other keeps disabling automatically. Once I set it (check) and file transfer (via moBLUe) works, but sometimes - I swear I didn't touch the settings - the file transfer (via moBLUe) does not work. When I check the feature the feature is disabled!?!?! WTF...? I am doing something wrong or...

I had the same problem with my 8010 until I went to radio 1.57 (and then 1.58, although 58 isnt as good as 57 for sound quality and the 8010). Im not using Michy but that shouldnt matter.

Using Jabra BT8040 with Athena and another cell phone,
poor performance, ocassional voice breaking and soft.
Just upgrade its firmware and monitoring.
With another simple bluetooth by Motorola H375,
no such issue, voice was clear and loud both ways.
I have tried several settings with radio 1.58 as well as 1.57 and in all cases the voice is distorted with Jabra BT8010 ;(
On the other side, using the Motorola HS810 I expirienced no problems at all at any setting i gave. Eventhough I like Jabra VERY much due to its features I will replace it...
I'm on ROM AP4, you might try that, too.

This is my second Jabra 8010. I have experienced the same problem with both!
Yesterday, I have flashed Athena to Michy's R5.1. No change.. the voice skipping is still present ;(
I decided and will replace Jabra. I have two candidates: Nokia BH-902 or Motorola SH-7x0. As said Motorola before Motorola SH810 gives very good – no distortion – voice! Will see how the Nokia behaves. Any pros and cons for each???
Thanks guys for your help.

Yes, same effect here, I'm using the Jabra 8010 also and have sometimes the same problem. From my point of view it is a jabra problem, not a ameo / athena nor a ROM problem.
After updating on radio 1.58 I have some problems with the connection to my Pioneer carraudio Sytem (used as a handsfree set) also. So I've decided to go back to 1.50, after that I will update on michyprima and check it....
Kind regards
Andreas
Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but I have learned a great deal from you guys & gals! Hail to all!
I have the same problem with my U1000 & bt8010 under Radio 1.57 & 1.5.
For me, the problem seems less noticeable if I:
1. stand / sit STILL (sigh...)
2. have more ram to the system (no big TODAY plug-ins like spbDiary)
In theory the 8010 is perfect for big dogs like the athena. (gosh i love the phonebook and the music ... even mono makes me happy ...)
Just a simple suggestion but based on what I've read on this last page with you guys changing the radio's and ROM's has anyone decided to update the Jabra BT 8010 Firmware. I've never experienced the problems you guys have it might be a last hope but why not go for it. Firmware found here:
http://uswww03.gnnetcom.com/Myjabra...=/myjabra/bt8010_control_center_na.html#step1
The software is at the bottom of the page, however you will also need to install the program to you computer to actually install the firmware. Follow the directions provied on the link, and feedbacks please.

tootallk2000,
I have been using the FW 1-40-0 for more then a year now and compared to older FWs it does not make a difference

In my post #12 I claimed I had "solid connection with my blue tooth". I spoke too soon. The first time I played music on Pocket Music I got lots of skipping.
This was also a problem discussed at length last year. I did a reg search on "priority256" and found that the decimal number was 131.
I changed it to 256 and NOW I have "solid connection with my blue tooth". I have not had a single skip in 15 minutes of playing music.
OOPS - I just got a 1/2 second skip.
on my post at #6, i also spoke too soon. when i tested skype at our office (faster dsl connection), the voice is smooth, no skipping. i guess it was just an internet connection problem.

Any 6.5 ROMs with BT controls working?

I've looked through several of the 6.5 rom threads and flashed a few, but haven't found one where the BT headphone controls work. I know MS made changes in 6.5 (thanks B4PJ), but was wondering if any of the 6.5 chefs had overcome the problem. thanks for any tips!
are you talking about audio controls? like next/previous/play+pause?
If so, ive got mine working with the newest energy rom and mortplayer
That's exactly what I'm talking about. Mortscript, huh? Could you point me to a thread to learn more about how that works?
I'm using a Jabra 3030 stereo bt headset and it works great with arrup's ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521007 . his even comes with a real nice interface s2p found in the multimedia folder that has built in support for bt. I'd try his out. Also Nrg's ROM seemed pretty nice I just think arrup's is a little more stable, but Nrg's is probably a little faster. hard to tell though. Nrg's is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517296 . Both are really great chefs. and BT worked with both for me. definetly try arrup's first though if you're having BT trouble, like I said the S2P app. has support built in. it's basically a really nice skin for WMP, but seems to work a lot smoother, and actually allows what you were listening to when you turned it off to come back up.

The problem lies with HTC's AudioMAnager not having been updated to the new WM6.5 API's. All WM6.5 ROMS with WMPlayer work fine with the AVRCP, and most other media players work off the WMPlayer API's. AudioManager by HTC is totally standalone and hence it does not work.
BT Controls work with ShEp's ROM as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497699

Appreciate the assist - BT is working, I can hear music and make phone calls, etc. I just can pause/FF/RW music, or answer or hang up calls because the BT controls don't work... I think I'm headed back to 6.1.

That's what I mean. the controls all work on Arrup's ROM for me. pause/ff/rw/answer call. all work on arrup's 6.5, and most others from what I've seen and heard..
