Removing MR1 help please - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I got a replacement 6800 with MR1 on it. I think to remove it I need to flash to the VZW rom prior to MR1, then flash to DCD. I thought that going from a GPS to a pre GPS rom would brick the phone. Please tell me how to get rid of MR1 and back to DCD. Thanks.

You can always screw somethign up but I can help you there. I can tell you for a fact if you follow those directions from a full blown MR1 ROM you will revert back without issue.

Is it even possible to go back to the original after doing a ROM upgarde? If so I too would like to know if there is a way back to original after botching an upgrade. Thanks.

Where did you find the original VZW rom? I need it very bad.
Unless someone got ahold of the vzw ship rom package, there is no vzw radio out there. The XV6800s I have seen came with radio 1.30.00. The radio rom cannot be dumped from the phone, it must be extracted from a ship rom package.

I am sorry for I guess I did not find it, but if you were to flash the ship rom wouldn't that reflash your radio back to original if it were included in the rom?

You can use this to downgrade... i had to exchange my phone and i used this along with the titan relocker to return the phone back to stock before exchanging the phone.
The downloads say "Passworded". Is there a password when using?

I guess I could always dump radio 1.40 on it and then see what happens with that ROM after. Just to play it on the safe side.
Aright, I flashed back to the stock Verizon ROM. The complete ROM does in fact come with radio 1.30.
A few details to be sure please

I have been waiting patientlt for the stock ROM before messing around with mine as I wanted a roll back path as well before killing the stability of the stock ROM. So what I would like to know is did you run the re-locker back on the phone so the bootloader would be back to stock before loading the stock ROM and radio ????? Or did you still have the 2.4 bootloader on it ??? Looking forward to your answer cause I have been wantuing to play too ;-) Thanks.
Hosed my phone!

Upgrade from dcd 1.6.8 to 3.1.2?

Please excuse what might be an obvious question, I'm still knee-deep in n00b...
I currently have a Verizon 6800 running dcd 1.6.8 (1.40 radio) and would like to upgrade to 3.1.2. Is the new build stable? Would you recommend this upgrade?
Unfortunately all the guides I have found talk about upgrading from a stock rom. Are there any references for upgrading from a (really) older version? Can any offer any advice on how to upgrade my phone?
Thanks.
yea its great so far......
All i would do is relock your phone flash back to stock then flash with the new sprint rom but do not let custiomations run then put the 2.40 bootloader on cook up a new rom flash and your done. in the short ver. hope this helps you
Why tell him to go back to stock when he doesn't need to? He needs to unlock with 2.40-Olipro, then he can run either the Sprint/HTC update or the Alltel/HTC update, just making sure not to let either customizations run. Then flash dcd's rom on top and you'll be good to go. It's optional, but I recommend that after you flash dcd's rom, flash the 3.39.10 radio as it's a lot better than 3.35.04 (the radio you'll get if you run the Sprint update) or 3.37.20 (the radio you'll get if you run the Alltel update).
no no no, do not go back to stock.....ever. unless you are sending it back, then yea, you should go back to stock, but there are multiple issues that you could run into with going back to stock.
How come there isn't a guide for going from cooked rom to cooked rom? If there is one can someone point me in its direction or provide the steps here?
There are guides... For each of the ROMs it's rather explicit in the Wiki and each of the developer's threads upon what bootloader you need. That's all there is to it.
Thanks gcincotta.... Quick question tho. Should I run the titan relocker before i try to unlock with 2.40?
Also, I have copied down my ESN, MSID, but cannot find my MSN(???) referenced by the wiki. Is there any other information I will need to reauthenticate my phone after the upgrade?
Thanks for the quick help and all the responses...

No, there is no reason to relock the phone. The only reason you relock the phone is if you need to flash and boot stock roms and radios signed by your carrier.
I believe you mean your MDN (Mobile Directory Number) and it is located in EPST under NAM Settings. You should be good.
thx gcincotta... upgrade worked like a charm... much faster and gps is so nice.... great job to all.
wow i feel like a noob but havent flashed from the start in a while. I unlocked and upgraded to an older 6.1 ROM. Now i want to flash the upgraded radio and a newer ROM. Dont i have to re-lock before flashing the official sprint ROM for the radio then flash a kitchenROM?

I'm not sure, but when I did it, I did NOT relock the phone. I did have to unlock using 2.40Olipro, but i did not have to use the titan relocker.
HTH.

I think I have to second that. I am pretty sure that whenever I have flashed a "stock" signed rom I have not ever had to relock the phone. I only would think about relocking if I was sending it back to verizon for whatever reason.

How do we go back to original radio from MR2?

Just flash the PG05IMG.zip of the original radio? Or is there a different way to go about this.

Yes, through hboot..
Okay I thought so just didn't know if there was anything different thanks a lot!
this should work for non-root too?
i thought if the radio was older, it would not flash... has anyone tried going back? i'm considering trying CM7 and need MR1 for that.

That's not true, it will still work. Flash away
Just remember tho that if you flashed the full RUU of the MR2 leak then you lost root, so hopefully you had just flashed the updated radio.
i didnt flash the RUU, just the radio. anyone know which radio is the proper one to work with CM7?

[Q] Reflashing stock radio?

Hi, does anyone have the 1.77.30 AT&T radio to flash back to? I wanted to try out some new ROMs and was advised to start off completely stock before doing so. I've tried searching for the old radio but cannot find any downloads.
The old radio is .15 not .30. I might have .30 on my laptop. It'll be this evening or tonight before I can send it.
I voided my warranty and your mum.
