First off, thanks to kmeta for the registry edit that allows wifi to stay on when the device is in standby (can be found here).
The problem with that registry change is that it resets itself at reboot so that wifi turns off in standby again. Since this was a pain to have to keep modifying, and the only other solution in the above thread meant using MortScript, I threw this little app together. It simply runs at startup and sets the value of the registry key.
If it doesn't work on your device then it probably means that the registry change is device specific, but I don't believe it is. Please let me know if it doesn't work and we can take it from there.
Edit:
Note, even though the app only runs at startup, the cab file makes the registry modification so you don't have to restart after an install.
Thank you, will try it on my HD2!
Does it close itself entirely after changing the reg on startup?

Yes, it doesn't stay running. It literally makes the registry change and then shuts down - it's all it needs to do.
Works great! Thanks a lot
FYI, 'manually' changing the wifi in standby registry key on my HD2 with BSB Tweaks or HD2Tweak doesn't work for me. Even when doing it every time after a soft reset, wifi just won't stay connected after some time in standby mode. With this little app it simply works.
I wonder what it does different?

I can only assume that it's using a different registry key - don't know.
Glad it works for you anyway

That might be the cause, because BSB Tweaks only makes the registry changes when you soft reset which does nothing in this case, because the key is gone again after a soft reset.
Anyway, thanks for that nice CAB. I have yet to try it, but I am already saying thanks in advance and will post my results after I had the chance to test them tomorrow at university.

Thanks DaveLeh. Just out of curiosity, what phone do you have? I know for sure it works on the HD2, but would be interested in finding out the results on a wide range of devices.

Unfortunately (well, at least for you, not so for me) I have a HD2, too. It's really quite the device.

It should be fine, since it's running WM 6.5. Maybe it's something to do with the custom ROM you're using. Does it have any power saving features? Do you have any 3rd party power saving software that could shut down Wifi? Maybe HDTweak, as I believe that has an option to do the same as this program.

I'm trying to work in the kitchen with the base EE2.0 ROM but I want to get rid of facebook, I understand it will break friendstream but I hate that too. I delete it, but its odexed and when I boot into the ROM i get an FC loop. How do I go about removing facebook from the ROM without breaking it?
Any help is greatly appreciated and sorry if I'm wording things wrong, kind of new at this

Lose the attitude or figure it out on your own
Remove the htcfacebook app, friendstream and friendstreamwidget and all corresponding odex files before compiling the ROM and make sure you wipe dalvik before flashing. You should be good to go.
If that doesn't work, you've messed something else up..

Guys, you all need to tone it down a few notches. Cursing is not allowed in this site (if you must, at least use special characters as you will see in the edits to your posts). Keep things clean
@WalkingTaco,

Edit: Moved thread to General since it isn't development.

-I put a bunch of pics on my phone
-made one of them my wallpaper
-decided to delete a bunch of them
-deleted the pic I used for my wallpaper by accident
-I want to find the physical file....but it doesnt exist.
...BUT I can turn my phone completely off and when I turn it back on it still manages to load the deleted image as the wallpaper. If it can still load the image it must be on my phone somewhere...or is it?

It's in /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper.
You will notice that it doesn't have an extension, so using Root Explorer, copy it to your sdcard, use Rename to place the proper extension (for example: wallpaper.png) and you're ready to go!
Or just use a new wallpaper, simple.

Oh my God... Seriously, what is your problem?
Maybe he wants the exact same wallpaper and has erased it and can't find it again.
I know, it's not common, but -NEWSFLASH- it happens.
And I offered a very thorough advice on that, what exactly did you offer with your post?
You've been helpful a lot around here -don't take this the wrong way-
but you're bitter and ironic most of the time. Well, there's no need for that.
Stick with offering some help and insight.

That is fixed with a hard reset
So I'm using the smart notice widget on my home screen, and for whatever reason, the introductory card that explains what Smart Notice is pops up multiple times every day. Even if I tap OK or the X button, I'll still keep getting the notification for it. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a way to get it to stop?
Is no one else having this issue? Surely I can't be the only one. I've been searching for a way to fix this, but clearing the cache for the widget doesn't seem to do the trick.
Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot! Just for reference, the offending folder's name was "initial_guide_my_concierge." For me at least, but you can modify or remove just about any card from that directory.

Make sure you read the request box, there is a small checked box on the lower corner. Don't uncheck it, then press ok.. And it should not show you it again, this is the same for all the help tips.
