When trying to update my 3.35 ROM to the 3.56.
When its verifying the information on my device. An error pops up saying this update manager is not valid with this device. The Error is 302. And it says Unknown Command i believe.
And i know it is, because my dad and his girlfriend just installed theirs with no problems. We have the PPC6800 (mogul).
And i got the upgrade off of HTCs website..
And ive did this before on my old phone, so i dont know why its not working this time.

Hello, gents.
Trying to upgrade SPL with v7 on a friends 8525 but getting timeout or connection dropped. When attempting to install, it's get's as far as rebooting the device after accepting "yes". It then attempts the SPL install and eventually error 260 shows on the workstation screen with the raibow screen left on the device.
Read somewhere that .NET 2.0 would correct this but I already have it installed.

I am having the same error message crop up when I try to install the latest ROM from HTC.
I am on Vista (but that really doesn't matter because A: I followed mrvanx's instructions to add the proper driver and B: I get the same crap from my roomate's XP machine).
When I run the ROM, it checks the PC, and then I get to the wizard. I check that I know this will erase my device, and then I check that I have done all of the things I need to do (activesync, etc.)
I acknowledge that I want to upgrade, and that I am going from my old ROM to the latest ROM, and click next...
At which time my phone screen goes dark and drops my connection via sync and the update bar stays at 0%. 30 seconds later I have a message come up that says Erro [260]: Connection, and some piss poor advice from HTC that says restart and reconnect everything and try again...
My Phone(Herm100 AT&T 8525) is running:
HardSPL 2.10 (v.7)
ROM Version 2.15.502.3
Radio 1.40.30.00
Protocol 32.73.7020.16H

I am in the middle of flashing my titan from qwest to verizon.
I am following this wiki - http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanStockHome
I got here:
B. USB/RUU flashing
1. ensure that you are at the tri-colour bootloader screen (hit POWER-CAMERA-RESET)
2. attach your device to your PC with the USB cable
3. Place the xxxxxxxx.nbh file from the stock ROM in the RUU folder
4. Run the RUU (your chosen stock ROM) by running ROMUpdateUtility.exe in the RUU Folder
5. For good measure, let the ROM complete its setup.
6. Once complete, reset to boot into the stock OS.
Click to collapse
And on step 5 I went to run the rom update utility with the stock verizon rom and at the end of the wizard it says ERROR[294] INVALID VENDER ID.
What do I do?
Thanks
Alright I went around and did some research and found the Hard SPL Unlocker.
I backtracked and re-installed the original qwest rom, then loaded the hard spl and now I have to boot screen
TITA100 MFG
SPL-2.40.Olipro
CPLD-9
I am now trying to load the verizon rom but now it returns ERROR [328] INVALID COMMAND
"This update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please check your update utility"
What should I do please?
Use 2.47 unlocker and then try again.

Hey,
Before you get too far into it, make sure that your handset is allready active with VZW.
The reason that I mention this is that I just found out that VZW is not accepting Qwest 6800 ESNs any more. Even though I have allready activated the unit on VZW, once I changed my number to another unit (XV6900), 3 level 3 techs & 2 Suppervisers later, they told me that since the "partnersh$t" with Allsmell, they can no longer accept Qwerst ESNs.
The good news is that after gripping enough, I get a XV6800 starter kit for $50.oo.
I'm 1yr. into my 5 line contract, and I have been paying $160~ monthly.
That might have something to do with it.
So any way make sure that you are grandmad in with your Qwerst 6800 before you "switch" handsets ever again. Becouse as soon as you do, your Qwest ESN will no longer work on the "OPEN' NUTWORK...
Look into It.
Tried flashing new rom to my Cruise and ended up getting the error stated in the title. Ran unlock and hard spl beforehand and ran the ruu update three times and the error still pops up. Any suggestions?
I had a Kaiser before and never had any issues with rom flashing. Sure hope it isn't bricked.
Also, checked my serieal with HTC.com and this is a legitimate cruise and I have the original rom, but cannot reconnect to WMDC, stuck on tri-color screen.
Also, it was error code 270 which I didn't see on the common ruu error page. It says that the rom image is corrupt. The rom I was flashing was billabong's ultimate from Jan. 17th. I was able to get my stock rom loaded back, thank God, but I just tried hard spl again and flashing the rom and the same error happened again.
Try another rom, there are a lot here. Maybe this rom have the problem, and not your device.
Hello,
I bought a used HTC HD2 device and would like to install android on nand.
I'm quite used to upgrade HTC devices using XDA guides... and did a lot of upgrades on a previously bought HD2 device without any problem.
Here are my questions and the errors I saw...
The bought HD2 seems to be unbranded. How to check it?
Upgrade to shipped ROM
I tried to upgrade the ROM by using the last available upgrade from HTC website, specifying my S/N. I downloaded the RUU_Leo_HTC_ITA_1.66.408.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship file... but I got upgrade error at 8-9% and then device never booted up more.
7 times vibrate error
I got succesfully upgraded it by saving LEOIMG.nbh on SD card (after a lot of try)... BUT after power up I had device stuck on HTC screen playing 7 times vibrate... who seems to be a faulty code.
I tried many reboots without any success... then I removed the battery, waited some minutes and then it succesfully booted up!
Read some forum about but didn't find the answer about the error "code".
HSPL installation
I had to install shipped 2.08 rom to install HSPL and successfully did it by downloading _HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_ITA_1.48.408.1_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship.
Then I successfully installed 2.08.HSPL
Radio upgrade
To install Android on NAND I need to have radio upgraded... so I tried to upgrade by using many radios from the XDA Radio Thread BUT I always have INVALID COMMAND ERROR 290 and upgrade process stuck at the end of radio upgrade process. Obviously device don't boot up saying me wrong process and at the boot stuck with an error screen.
Why do I have radio upgrade problems? Are they related to 7 times vibrate?
Never tried to get Goldcard... but I suppose if it's a wrong radio (for which I need to use goldcard) customruu process would give me an error, right?
Guys,
i have a Mozart branded with T-MO Germany and the latest Mango Update. All is stock, nothing tweaked.
Today I was announced that an HTC Update is due (firmware) supposedly bringing the Tethering to my device.
Unfortunately this updates does not succeed on my device... I tried every recommended thing, switched PCs, hard resetted the device, tried it over and over again.
After a little investigation I found out that my device seems to have pretty old Bootloader and Firmware versions compared to the device my colleague updates successfully this morning... I have the impression, that this might be the reason, why my device keeps failing.
Here the important information:
OS ver: 7.10.7740.16
FW ver: 2250.09.12505.111
Radio softw. ver: 5.50.09.18_22.24.50.09U
Radio hardw. ver: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader ver: 1.25.2250.5 (111337)
Any ideas what the problem could be and how I could fix it?
The error code Zune throws: 80180008 - Update unsuccessful
Thanx for your replies...
Same prob here - I am on b/l 1.32 though.
Hello,
I have the same issues. Did you guys get a result on this?
Hi All,
Just letting you know that I fixed my issue.
I ended up downloading and installing the Telstra branded ROM from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915827 then worked through all the updates and the latest HTC update worked, no error.
Not sure why but anyway I now have internet sharing on my Mozart - happy camper!
Thanks
Adam

Unfortunatly zune does not really tell us whats the problem underneath and the error code does not get us anywhere. Even not the suggested use of WPRestoreToolv2 (4.8.2345) gets us out of the problem.
For what i have found out the reason for the latest HTC OEM Update to actually fail is that its signature can't be verified by the installer on the device and thus the update is not getting installed. The failing signature check itself is caused by the fact that at least one of the previous HTC OEM updates were not installed. This can be verified indirectly by looking for example at the bootloader version.
The solution is quite simple: use cab sender to install the 1st HTC OEM Update and then you can successfully install the second HTC OEM Update, either by using cab sender again or via zune.
Hello bleh815,
I am getting the same issue (error 80180008), and you are suggesting:

Any idea, where I can obtain the 1st and 2nd HTC OEM updates?
ZUNE only finds the 7740.16, but fails to install. I can install the cabs, if I can get hold of the OEM cabs of HTC.
Thanks
