I changed the Current Operator Name in the registry from Sprint to my name, (so it shows my name instead of Sprint in the right corner of the top curtain) but it reverts back to Sprint...sometimes it will change back after an hour or so, sometimes it will only take a few minutes.
Does anybody have any idea why it would revert back?!?
I thought it might have been linked to me using the automatic wallpaper changer application, but it did it even after I turned that off.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated...I am a bit of a newbie at all of this!

Hey all!
I recently put a new ROM on my Orange SPV M1000 (Sin's Merged v2).
After getting the correct GPRS settings from Orange all is pretty great! The screen looks much better and it all runs a bit smoother.
My only issues are as follows:
Can I change the boot splash screens? I don't really like the O2 logo all over my Orange phone
In the top taskbar the O2 logo appears next to my network signal. Is there any way to get rid of it?
Last one: When I take a picture, the 'send' button doesn't do anything. Before I could press it and it would give me the option of sending by MMS or e-mail but now it just doesn't do anything. To send a picture by mail or MMS I have to take it then compose the message seperately.
Nothing too bad, just things I'd like to change if I can!
special o2 sotfware is in the extened rom you can open and remove the stuff you dont want like that icon
or you can look in windows\startup
and remove the shortcut to the o2 thing you dont want
or you can try removing it from the today screen items if thats where it's at
here is how the splash is changed

Thanks for the info Rudegar!
I've attached a picture with the O2 icon i'd like to get rid of.
As for the splash screen, I'll take a look a bit later on since it looks a little more complicated than i thought it might be
read this

it's cab file called "connections.cab"
Ah! I see!!!
Thanks for that!
Also, I updated my splash screens last night. No more O2 for me!
Thanks for the help guys!
I get much better battery life if I set my phone to 1x only (since I'm in a marginal signal area).
On my Verizon Touch Pro, I can change between 1x and hybrid in phone->menu->options->services->mode of operation->get settings as long as this is set first
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting to 0
As you can see, it's a bit of a pain to change it back and forth. The change does take place immediately though (no reset or anything needed, it's just instantaneous).
I'd be extremely grateful if someone who knows how to do this stuff could look into creating an .exe file that would just toggle between the 2 settings when clicked.
Anyone?
Anyone have any ideas about this?
I can't imagine it's that hard. Maybe just need to locate the correct reg setting?
I have tools that can toggle wifi and bluetooth on and off.
I'd absolutely love a tool that would allow me to toggle between 1x only and hybrid by just running the exe.
EDIT: I'm getting close!
I searched the registry for hybrid and it came up in
HKLM/System/OEM_State/RSSI
If the UI is set to 1x, the entries in there are set as follows:
CSAF = 2
Hybrid_Ind = 0
SysType = 2
If the UI is set to Hybrid, the entries in there are set as follows:
CSAF = 4
Hybrid_Ind = 1
SysType = 3
BUT, if I just edit those entries in the registry, nothing happens.
So, either there are more registry entries or making the change in the UI starts/stops a service.
There's got to be an easy way to do this.
Any help is appreciated.
Any ideas anyone?
Just write a mortscript.
That's not a bad idea, though I suspect it'll still be slower than having a program make the appropriate change to the device internally.
I have no idea how to program a mortscript (though I do have mortscript installed and am using it for something else).
Is it basically just like a macro?
I guess I need something to first run the phone application, then hit menu soft key, then select options, then hit the services tab, then choose mode of operation, then have something where if the radio button for hybrid is currently selected, select 1x only and if 1x only is current, select hybrid, then ok, then ok, then close the phone application.
Can anyone help with that or at least help me get started?
If anyone can help, I'm still looking for an answer here.
Thanks!
Please help!!!
Hi i just flashed new official rom: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
released on 11 oct 2010 by htc. There is no longer screen setting in the options menu?
I have located in the registry under GUI where to place the entries 1 folder called Font smothing and one called clear type but what entries do i need to make to enable them both?
100. Enable Align Screen Calibration in Settings
Certain US roms or custom roms do not have the screen calibration option showing in All Settings, System, Screen. This allows you to tap on crosshairs to calibrate the screen. To enable it just use the registry tweak below:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Pen and change from 1 to 0.

Yes But even then font smothing is not visible, that was only availiable through the quick preferences-screen not in all settings screen in previous roms
just dont want to have flash back to an old rom then back just for these settings after spending most of a day re-installing programs back on and changing settings to find these two missing.
where exactly was the font smoothing setting? i don't think i've ever seen anything labeled like that. just cleartype which says "smoothes the edges of screen fonts"
reg for cleartype is....
create the registry branch
hklm/system/GDI/CLEARTYPE
it doesn't need any keys or values, the branch existing is enough to turn on cleartype
hklm/system/GDI/CLEARTYPE already exists yet is not activated so how do you enable it? what entries need to be made in this folder?
font smoothing setting is also under hklm/system/GDI/ the same again this entry exists what entries need to be made in this folder?
in cleartype settings is only offonrotation
some apps require cleartype turning on within them. resco explorer for instance. scan your registry for "cleartype" there are a few hits.
Update half way there
Managed to get cleartype working in all progs and enabled thanks to another forum,
Just now need help to get font smothing working
how you did it?
How you managed to enable clear type in new rom. Pls help i cannot.

nothing else goes in that folder, the folder itself is all that is required to tell winmo to use cleartype. (At least thats how its supposed to work, thats how it works on non 3.14 roms)
Hi guys,
It's a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone on here knows how to set the default homescreen that first comes on after booting up the device. Now I don't mean just how to set the default homescreen, I have already figured that part out, and I get the homescreen I want when I press the Home button. My problem really is to figure out how to make it show that same screen when I reboot.
Hope someone can help out on this one

For me, it look really random. Usually it start on the last screen used. If it crashed need the retry option to start, it start on default homescreen. Sometime it's completely random.
Thank chadouming,
I figured it out though!... well kinda...
My solution, a very bizarre one, but works nevertheless:
- Go to desired default home screen (the screen you want to see when your device firsts comes on every time you boot it up.
- Change system fonts (I did say bizarre, didn't I?) [Settings-->Display-->Fonts]. SPB will restarts itself once you choose one and voilĂ ! Done deal!
- When you reboot next time, and every other time after that, it will always come up to this home screen first.
If the setting changes, you can redo the above to your liking.

How does this setting work?
I can decrease it and everything goes bigger, increase it and everything is smaller. I can tweak it to whatever I want, set my zoom/font and get all my apps running/looking how I want them to and then (randomly, sometimes within minutes) I'll open an app and it looks all wrong. When I check the MW it has changed. Or everything can be running smoothly and when I check the MW it has changed. And the figures keep varying, 824, 580, 600, all sorts but never the figure that I have set.
Is there something that I need to do to make the setting stick?
Why does it keep changing?
Or, how do I just reset the MW to default and start again, because everywhere I read on the Internet people quote different "default" figures and I am guessing that it's because everyone sees the question being asked, check their device and at that specific time it says XXX?
Should disabling Dev Ops reset the defaults? Or does (or should) turning off DO lock the setting at the figure last entered?
Thanks.
In fact (as I have just discovered), I can enter a figure, come out of the settings and go straight back in and the dpi is different?
