Hey, I've seen this question asked here and there but I can't get a straight answer, especially one that specifically applies to my 3VO.
SO--I've a bluetooth headset (Samsung HM1000) and a 3VO. Can I stream music, audio from movie tracks, etc. to my headset? I've heard a lot about A2DP, and since the headset packaging doesn't mention that I'm guessing that's not a feature. Am I SoL? Any apps or root tricks to fix this?
I would definitely have paid more for a legit headset if I'd even considered that this would be a problem (my fault for assuming!).
Thanks in advance!
I stream just fine to my Motorola S9 HD and Motorola S10 HD headsets.
Sent using XDA premium app.
...those are both A2DP so it's unclear to me whether your situation sheds light on mine, as my HM1000 is (I don't believe) A2DP.
no A2DP, no streamy to your headset..
yes, you are sol...
****. Kthanks.
Try an app called bt mono in the market. Might work for you.

Love the S9 HDs I will replace mine if they ever break with another set. I tried the new s10 series and they are not comfortable for me.

The s10 HD headsets sound like crap compared to the s9 HD.

They didn't sound good when I had them on, but I chalked that up to the fact that they fit SO horribly and uncomfortably that they just werent sitting in my ears properly. never had that issue with the S9-HD's
Motorola really dropped the ball on those, here is hoping there next upgrade is worth it. as of right now if my s9's die I can still find them without too much trouble at a good price.
not sure how much longer that is going to be an option though.
is there a combo type BT headset that can stream music but also be used to talk when a call comes in???????
oops. I think I didnt research this first.....i guess this one does both....SORRY.

.....S9-HD!!!!
The plantronics backbeat 903 are great for music. The quality is awesome. The call quality is only good when you have a very quiet background because the mic stinks.

I have a rooted Viper 3D and I just bought the motorola S10-hd........how do i sync bluetooth. I press the BT button but nothing happens. Do I have to download anything else from the market????
Quick question about this rom or the 3D. I'm running MeanRom 2.7 and trying to stream pandora or slacker to this bluetooth headset while working around the house. Have full wifi and the bluetooth is studdering while streaming....
I can listen to anything I have on my 3d sd card and no studder but it studders while streaming pandora and slacker.
Anyone know why and if theres any fix?
I'm pretty sure it's not the rom, just something with bluetooth and streaming audio.
I disconnect my bluetooth lg and pandroa and slacker stream perfect. I then can turn bleutooth back on and listen to music and audio on my bluetooth without a problem. It's just when I stream....any clues?
I had the Blue Ant Q2 headset and I was able to able to stream music to it. It also read off my text messages to me.
Can someone please test for me? Get your Bluetooth headset and attempt to stream Pandora or slacker radio to your 3d? On 3g and WiFi please....
There are apps for that.. just search bluetooth in play store if you have a mono bluetooth it will make your music play through it. I've done it before.

I have a crappy pair of skullkandy headphones, the ones with inline mic with 1 button (play/pause,answer/hangup), and they work fine.
iPhone headphones work only for sound, mic and remote are not compatible

I have a pair of nuforce; the best bet is to go to a site like amazon and skim the reviews to see if anyone has success with an andriod device.
I'm not aware of any headset with three button controls that work on Android phones. All single button headsets I've owned and tried have worked fine though.
Here's a link to a site I sometimes use to buy headphones from, with a direct link to headsets with mics and button controls. Unfortunately, many of them are made specifically to only work with Apple products, but like I mentioned, all single button headsets should work properly.

Even though their products tend to be overpriced, I currently use and recommend the Bose MIE2s. I also own the Klipsch S4s and enjoy their sound. There is a mobile version that's made specifically for Android phones as well.

Normally for music I use AudioTechica, which does not have a mic and control..
But if you want one, try the new Phillips O'neil branded "Specked"..
there are 2 versions though, one with Mic and one without....
With Mic version cost around 30 euros over here, but in US maybe it is cheaper....
It also provides an Adaptor which you could use for Nokia/Samsung mobiles...so it is a complete package....

But I sais in the manual: "must use with klipsch app for proper function" and that's perhaps not what people might want. And it only has 1 button for all controls..

I personally use either my V-MODA REVAMP headphones or my Sennheiser IE8i (A fairly high end IEM BTW) headphones. Both of the mics work, but the buttons on the IE8i don't work so hot because it's iPhone proprietary buttons.
my blackberry headphones used to work well on BB and on HTC Desire S.
by working well, I mean 1 press answer/end the call, long press redials the last number
when in music player, a press on the same button is pause/play.
on RAZR so far only long press works for redial of last number. short press activate voice commands, and play/pause simply does not work. Any idea how to revert to "normal"?

Well the working of the controls is strictly dependent on the interface chip used.... in that case, one particular control might not be completely useful into another phone..
Hence the new days headphones have minimalistic controls only.... and they do mention which phones it can be used with.....
the headphones with larger repertoire of controls are mainly bluetooth , since bluetooth is an open standard...

Currently I have an E4GT, and my BT works great. I can connect my S9-HDs, PS3 controller, wii-mote without a hitch.
This wasn't the case with my OGEvo, the audio would cut in and out, and I couldn't connect any controllers without being on CM.
Is there any info about the BT stack on the 4G LTE? I'm asking here because I assume that it's different that in the OneX, if I'm incorrect let me know and I'll ask over there.
It looks like it has many more profiles then og 4G. I saw some has a wiimote paired with one x (although it is laggy)

I think they'll probably have the same stack. WiiMotes work fine with my One X, I didn't have trouble with latency. My Phonejoy also works fine. PS3 controllers work with Root via Sixaxis app, although I'm presently locked to stock while reviewing the handset for Telecom NZ, so haven't personally confirmed that.
Bluetooth audio should be much better, since BT 4.0 has much higher bandwidth for audio streaming (although the receiving device may end up being the bottle neck). If you have a receiving device that is also Apt-X capable then the audio will be excellent, basically the same as wired up to around 370kbps (the Samsung HS3000 is cheap, versatile, and has Apt-X).

This is what the build.prop from the latest Jewel leak says:
Code:
# system property for Bluetooth Hardware information
ro.product.bluetooth=4.0
That suggests BT 4.0 to me.
Hope my icontrolpad works with it. From these comments it looks like it should. I like stock but a huge reason I want this phone is to run emulators on that awesome screen and have it propped up nice on that kickstand during my lunch hour.
I've already bought the Sixaxis app from the Play Store as I use that with my PS3 controller on my Prime. Would be great if it really does work on the Evo LTE as I wouldn't even have to spend any more cash.

If you can't buy the remote from anywhere, then I would either recommend the Gamepad or using a remote app (official or Droidmote) on a cell phone or tablet.
you can use
amazon fire tv stick replacement remote
Does anyone know if the 2015 Amazon Fire TV 4K remote works?
It uses WiFi Direct so I'm doubtful, but I would buy one if it worked.
Man what's with everyone using that WiFi blocking WiFi direct crap? I sold my roku stick over that crap, broadcasting as an access point on the same channel as my router and blocking WiFi. They created Bluetooth for this type of stuff might as well use it.
And I'm going to go with no, as the shield controller also uses WiFi direct and reports have indicated that the shield controller won't pair with the nexus player

I use the chines flying remote (buy a good one for $12) it has selections to fly point or to just standard remote. You attach with a small usb dongle provided with remote and has plus you can use with those app that require touch or mouse control. all in one.

I know I'm about 2 years too late but wifi direct remotes wont interfere with your wifi, even if they are on the same channel. You only get wifi interference if both are being used at the same time, so you only get a fraction of a second of interference when you press a button on the remote.
haw somebody bought something cheap that worked with nexus player?
stock remote is garbage..
The Harmony hub isn't cheap but it's great if you need a universal remote. I got it for $80 CAD during Black Friday.
It has BT and it works well with NP. It's what I'm using now.
Hi,
I have this idea and would like to validate if it is feasible:
-What if I use one of those cheap VR headset , for example,
ebay.com/itm/New-1pcs-3D-Glasses-VR-Box-Headset-Google-Cardboard-Virtual-Reality-Hot-/391636008832?hash=item5b2f533f80:g:tvsAAOSwZQRYWNTS
- Then install controller-emulator app on of my old android 6.0:
developers.google.com/vr/daydream/controller-emulator
-Then I launch the Daydream app on my Axon 7 manually (no need for the fancy NFC trigger)
Is there anything that could stop this from working? I do not think the google daydream viewer has any special sensors or anything, right?
This is working but there are problems with the functionality by using the emulator method. Inputs weren't recognized in my lollipop device.
On mm it could work.
Why don't you try the emulator before buying the VR headset?
It did work perfectly for me. I used it to try daydream before deciding to purchase it. I used a Nexus 4 as a controller

The Daydream headset is quite nice, compared to the carboard one I used for testing, and the actual controller is much better than a phone because you can actually feel and press the buttons. With a phone, you don't really know where your finger is and you have to do strange things like double clicks to simulate some controller actions. The controller, though, sometimes has problems, like losing connection, which a phone does not have. Hopefully they will get solved with firmware updates
