Hi GC, My company just got 2 Touch Pro's, my first experience with them, which unlocker would you recommend?
We have Alltel as our carrier. And I notice your screen shots don't show Manila running, is it removed? or just not in your screenshots, the Kitchen list seems to show that it's there. I'm sure my co-workers will want it since their original phones came with them.
One more thing, does the aGPS mod thru QPST work on these as well?
Any info you can provide I sure would appreciate.
Thanks,
BTC

You need to use the hardspl 0.37 for alltel devices, found here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Everything listed under Kitchen Packages is removed, but available in the kitchen. It is removed in the clean roms.
I'm pretty sure aGPS works still, but as I don't have Alltel, I haven't been able to test. The registry settings are included in the Alltel carrier OEM in the kitchen, though the QPST settings will still have to be applied.
Thanks GC. I should receive the phones in the next day or 2 and will let you know what I find out.

First off, wonderfully fast rom, I love it.
second... found a few small bugs =)
Using the sprint carrier and pretty much everything in the build ( didn't add the PIE 6 oem you have, not sure what that updates/chages etc. )
1. PIE identifies the phone as a TouchDiamond when you hit the updates page for sprint.
2. Opera doesn't identify itself as anything, so you get uknown PPC when you hit sites that query the moble modle, etc
and not realy a bug, but something I noticed
3. Picturemail isn't in the kitchen/ doesn't install during provisioning ( not a big deal realy just install cab after )
Over all..extreemly fast and stable, wonderful memory utilization, and extreemly nice battery life. I installed this rom, did my basic restore's and file installs, then set off for home after work ( had it fully charged when I left work ) letf the phone in my pocket, got a few txt's and one phone call at home, nothing big, then left it on the head of my bed for the night, came into work this morning and had 80% battery life still. I have never only had it use 20% battery when sitting idle for 14-16 hours with minimal use. So extreeemly nice battery use so far, very happy.
Glad to see this posted here and can not wait to try this ROM out as soon as I get my TPro useable again!
Thanks.
Sorry if I am retarded, but does this have borred's gps fix in it?
Best rom I've used yet, and I have used them all. This Rom doesn't appear to have the texting keyboard lag. I'll check back in a few days with more results, since I've only been using this since last night.
Thanks again!
Verizon HTC Pro xv6850
I have a xv6850, installed using the kitchen. Works really well but I notice that I use to see "EVO" when I am doing DATA, not all it says is 3G. Isn't 3G an ATT thing? Does it matter or could this be a bug?
Also, I use ICS and my download is 200k and upload is 200k. This is bad right? Verizon should have better download speeds. I forgot to do this before I upgrade so I can't compare that what it was before.

I have not tried the GPS yet. What software do you use with GPS? If you let me know I can download and test it out for you.
xv6850 and GC2 Rom
I also notice that my memory is
Storage:
Total: 127.16MB
In use: 31.47MB
Free: 95.70MB
Program:
Total: 114.37MB
In use: 74.35MB
Free: 40.01MB
I do not get the amount you have displayed in your post. I am not complaining as the ROM is working well the way it is. I am just curious if I did something wrong for it not to display the same information as your post.
Thank you.

Anything but the vznavigator. Google mobile maps or Windows live or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459604 or this one is the best one to test with.. It shows you the gps status http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20496&d=1231456287 (the later would be the one I am interested in)
Will this Rom work with Bell as the carrier?
noob question
Hi there, first time posting so take it easy, I bought my wife and I the sprint raphaels and I have flashed to this kitchen, my wife still has a stock phone, are there any issues with this build that will piss her off at me for switching? also I have 2 questions:
1. can I get some of the programs from the original sprint build on the phone like sprint navigation (because it does the text to speech, I downloaded google maps and couldn't get it to talk to me and sprint had a gas prices feature) and the weather updater(I'm sure I can find a suitable replacement for this). And If I can, How?
2. I tried to go to youtube after this build and pull up a couple of videos and none worked all gave me a windows media error (cannon play the file, the file is either corrupted or the player does not support the format you are trying to play) Do you guys have a fix for that?
Thank
tim
I'm having a major problem. When I'm on a call for a couple of minutes, wifi will want to turn on. I just tried turning Direct push off, but I still have the wifi turning on. Any ideas? This is killing my battery.

Thanks for the update...giving it a shot now. This integrated the BT from the touch, correct?
Yes, that is correct.
So far so good - will give BT a fairly extensive test tomorrow.
You looking for feedback on anything?
Nothing specific, just over all experience.
Quick question Custel, I'm with Sprint and before I could hit ##3282#, input my MSL code, and edit a lot of settings but obviously now that I've loaded your ROM based off Alltell, that doesn't work anymore.
Do you know how I can switch from "Mobile IP only" to "Mobile IP preferred"?

With Altell you have to replace the last "#" with hitting the send or talk button.
So you should be able to type "##3282 [TALK]" and it should work.

hi, CUSTEL first of thankx for a great rom... very very fast i must say!!!
im having one issue. i just installed CUSTEL v1.1 - 6MB Page Pool, but it doesn't seem to have mms installed, i tried installing the old version, but that didn't seem to work.... anyone else have this issue
Has anyone found better BT quality from this?
Upon closer inspection, it appears that these ARE NOT the vogue BT drivers...
Custel, care to share some info about what you did here?
Going to decompile this rom and have a closer look at the contents...
I just tried to installed the PPCgeeks MMS, but it doesn't seem to work...
Is there a way to get MMS on this ROM? Thanks!
Also just noticed that "recent programs" don't save after a soft reset. Not really an issue, but something to note.
So far great and quick ROM!
can you please tell me the difference between your software (CUSTEL v1.1) and dcd's roms for Titan. Does yours work with Sprint CDMA?

Take a look in the first post under notable features. Yes, this one does work with the CDMA Titan (Mogul) for sprint.
Hey Custel.... great work. Just one question. Is there anyway to disable the HTC x button?

I'm working on an xml file to load sprints settings which should fix any mms problems. I have an alltel file readily available if you do not have sprint. If you have another carrier please let me know.
It has an application called start clean which erases info such as recent programs on every restart, it's not a bug, it's suppose to do that

You should be able to from with in the app under settings > system.
I'm using sprint. MMS isn't a necessity for me, but it's good to have.

Ahh got ya, just out of curiosity what else does start clean do?
I keep getting passwords or user name errors when i try to use Outlook and gmail with this ROM. Anyone having this problem?
I think we will have BT turn off problem if the driver is not from Touch. I will hold off on the ROM until this is cleared.

anyone know how to install and use opera mini using this ROM? I'm having problems downloading and installing it.
OK, can someone answer my question about the difference between the Custel 1.1 and dcd Rom? Is one better, more stable, faster? have more features, what? I'm afraid I'm still learning terms and am not familiar with such high level software. Also what is the procedure / process to install either if these programs? Thanks in advance.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Feb 3 update
http://rapidshare.com/files/88929555/RUU_signed.zip.html
I cooked this for myself, because with other roms i was missing voicemail notifications. I am using it right now and seems like its very good and stable. So i would like to share it with the community.
It includes most of the telus customizations ( yes its has ugly purple windows theme too)
scroll down for the link
Details:
Base Rom Version is : 3.15.651.0
CE OS 5.2.1622 ( Build 18128.0.4.4)
GPS registry settings are taken from dcd's 2.0 Sprint beta
It includes most of the stock stuff eg. windows live, office etc.
third party packages included are
Cloudyfa EsmertecJbed java.
Opera mini and Gmail midlets with proper shortcuts and no data access warnings, so be warned they wont ask you when it will acess data.
Finger friendly friends
Task manager
VistaHide battery Gauge
At first boot when telus customization run ppst.exe takes little longer, its makes you feel like its frozen, so be patient.
Comments and suggestions other than my bad english will be apreciated.
Edit:
extended rom has the followings
Signed_NAMLOCK.CAB
PP_PIE.sa.CAB
PP_WelcomeMessage_1.3.sa.CAB
WelcomeMessage.exe
MP_CVSDcpl_20070129.cab
signed_070319_7500_Telus.sa.CAB
PPST.exe
TSK.sa.CAB
DefaultRingtone.sa.CAB
WM5DST_signed.cab
http://rapidshare.com/files/88177625/telus_jan31_a1jatt_os_and_extended.zip.html
EDIT : jan 31 update
removed rltoday
Added : htc gps tool, 10 buttom comm manager, task manager and x buttom
Fixed : phone setting save bug
If not pre packaged in an executable, how do we install it?
attached is the rom update utility.
extract this and then put the ruu_signed.nbh file from original post in this folder.
then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
Thanks for the advice. I had already figured it out though.
I do have to say, this is one amazing ROM for us Telus users. I love the default Telus phone dialer with the colours etc, the EV icon shows up normally, GPS works, Phone programmed itself easily, I just had to switch back to the HTC default black theme and get rid of the RL today plugin you had. I preffer the HTC home plugin myself but that was easily switchable.
Two thumbs up.
The mobile speed is through the roof! It acts just like it should, just like the stock Telus one! Except I have GPS now and the updated radios working like they should or so it appears. It's so fast!
Do you have to update the radio and and unlock rom?

It looks like an OS only update. I'm going to give this a try for the heck of it.
just make sure you have the current unlocker installed and current radio.
Thankz a1jatt for the Telus rom !
I used the current unlocker, and I also updated to the latest radio.
A1jatt, Can you integrate Windows Mobile 6.1 into the rom? I'd love that.
^^ i think that will be too buggy right now.
btw i have made some changes today
I'm flashing it now. The changes sound nice.
What was with the 300xz breakdown image? I want the Telus startup image. How can I fix that?
Not a fan of pocketzenphone, either. I'd like the ones that comes with Telus.
I think you should keep a Telus rom as stock looking as possible, with the upgurades that you've included except for the Today changes. That should look stock, otherwise the user can easily change it themselves. Especially the Telus loading screen which is now a car.
just a question
so to use your custom rom do i have to use the unlock app then add your rom then the radio app also? or is this an all in one rom? yes im a noob lol
Use the unlocker if you haven't been unlocked yet.
Then boot the boot loader etc by pressing soft power, camera, and the hard reset on the bottom of the phone at the same time.
Once you're in that mode, go to activesync, click on file, connection settings, and uncheck usb while you flash the phone.
His latest download just requires that you double click on romupdateutility.exe and follow the prompts. Then do the radio update and let your phone boot.
I also noticed the camera feature is missing. The shortcut is missing or not working, and when I try to launch it, I get nothing. I tried to take a pic and voila.. fantastic.
hmmm
so is it worth this rom update or will i loose my camera feature?
The camera feature is nowhere to be found. I'm getting rid of the rom until this is fixed, and if possible, the things I suggested before. I'll have to cook my own rom some time.
hmmm
damn phone keeps rebooting again????? after installing rom and files? seems to happen as soon as i remove it from the usb connection?
I'm not sure what you did, but reflash it.
I have dcd's telus rom and have been using windows mobile phones ever since the samsung i700. His rom is the smoothest rom I have ever had so far. Keeping in mind it has only been 5 day's. Camera works and the only bug I have found since Sunday, the day I flashed, is the issue with the EV icon and voice mail icon. It's quick, smooth and hasn't locked once.
I'm not posting this to make light of this thread by any means. I appreciate and support anyone that produces rom's. Especially rom's that cater to specific carriers (Telus for me)! I only share this info in regards to my personal experience. The more options, the better it is for everyone. Please continue the great work!
same crap
anyone in hamilton that can do this for me??
If DCD had fixed the EV icon and the voicemail, I would switch to his.
I have incorporated some new features in this rom.
You no longer have to align the screen (if for some reason this is not working for you then go to settings and align the screen yourself but it should work )
There is a script called “Backup Contacts” in the download folder run the script on your current device, it will copy pim.vol over to your sd card then when you load my new rom it will automatically copy pim.vol over to your device keeping your ringtones intact(providing there in the same subdirectory) this will also work on the root of microdrive
This rom as remote tracker, which is free, if you look in the download folder you will see the RTRegCreator go to the following website - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394203 - to learn all about how to make your own rt.dll file once you make it you can also drop rt.dll to the root of you sd or microdrive.
Also I have made quickgps autoupdate without having you do it for the first time(you need to have data connection setup first to see how to do that on first boot see this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403458
All the items that were in sogart’s rom are in this rom but a lot of the items are disabled, which are but not limited to, all inputs(keyboard is default), audio manager, adobe FL, audoBooster, Connection setup, large startmenu, office, subdisplay, transcriber, autorotate, htc home, touchflo…. Ect. I have also add a few popular apps but they are also disabled, dicbattery, qwertymemory, file dialog changer, total commander, tcpmp -with all plugins, pocketrar, taskmanager. The reason I did it like this is so I can take up all of the rom space but also make it as fast as possible. There is also a 0MB PagePool which I have been testing for the last two weeks and I have found no screw-up’s… not one.
I have also add scripts for MiniSD and Microdrive in the programs folder, so there is no reg changing on your part and the scripts will keep your device alive (as long as you plug it in within 20sec of activating the script)
GSensor- you can use gsen to autorotate or if you don’t want to use that app then just install taskmanager and launch it. Then go to menu>tabs options>select tab>services and look for “HTC Sensor Service (Athena)(Sen1: ) click and hold then click start
Known Bug – (for some reason on second boot ONLY, you have to press the startmenu in the upper left corner of the screen in order for the splash screen to go away not sure why but like I said it’s only on second boot )
Addons folder is also in the downloaded folder and this is where you will go to active the app you want(really it just installs a link in the programs folder for most of the cabs )
Deleted folder is extra stuff like ringtones and album pictures that just took up space but if you want any of it just drop in the windows dir.
I have set up a link for people to donate to me so I can get a new device. Please let me know if you have donated to me so I can thank you personally. I must stress that no one here has to donate I am more than happy making roms just because I like doing it. Also I would just like to let everyone know up front that school is starting in about 3 weeks and im not sure how much time I am going to have next semester so I may not be able to make another rom until winter break. So enjoy the new rom and as always if you have any comments, questions or concerns please ask

yup, I still have the HR-loop. lol, it was a struggle to reset it at the right moment before the customization screen came up, but I got it though.
I had downgraded from 3.5 to 1.2.
Irus,
1. Did you add the battery driver to fix the 10% to 1% for batter meters?
2. Have you the gps driver to allow quicker lock?
Anyone compared this ROM with Michy's latest and which one is faster?

A) This Rom is quite fast and stable.
B) I can use GSen on this...not so on Michy's latest rom.
C) the battery meter is not a problem for me as I use
D) Haven't test the GPS yet
E) Michy's rom changed my device id so my tomtom7, touchpal V3.5, and other apps serials wouldn't work.....it was a bit of a pain, but the rom is fast and stable.
I prefer this rom from irus though, the programs folder is not overly huge with programs I only use 77% of. this rom has a lot of storage and program memory.
EDIT: if you're in the USA and have slow network speed (600kbps or less) on full bars, go to phone settings and change the band: GSM/UMTS band=GSM(1900+850)+UMTS(1900+850) and click ok. if you it goes to the tab where it shows your phone number and the option to change your ring tone and doesn't/won't close, just change the ringtone and click ok again......the wait cursor will be there for about a minute or so....wiat until its done. Now you can reset your phone and do a speed test, you should have higher speeds now. Out of 2 tests I got 1375kbps and 1105kbps in doors.

I did not add the battery driver, as far as the gps driver goes i get a pretty quick lock but what is the name of the driver you are talking about.
I've installed this ROM this morning and had been using it for a few hours now. All my software have been installed and re-registered.
Irus was not joking when he said there is NO bug. I certainly have not encountered any so far, and there has also been NO freezes. The response time was very fast again.
All my sensor applications such as BubbleLevel and waterlevel works right away with no tweaks.
Will report bug if I find any.
I'm pleased also to report that Opera 1184 works very well in this ROM. It appears to be much faster than normal in fetching and displaying web pages. I could compilet post to this forum in this ROM whereas using the same Opera version would not allow me to do so in MiChY's version 1.88.
MiChY has a couple of nice applications that he coded by himself, and his ROM is also very fast and stable. I like his version of Large Menu Text configurator, for example, which other the bottom menu text to be adjusted by a slider.
MiChY's ROM is more "PCish". I suspect those who use it notebook style may like it. I prefer my device is to be "diamonish", which is what irus' ROM is closer to.
I'd say if you're looking for sensor functionality, this is the one to get. If you like MiChY's applications (and there are many in his ROM) and does not really want auto-rotate or sensor based applications, then MiChY's ROM is the one to go for.
MiChY's mail application does not let you drag and select mail item, this does. In MiChY's ROM, you have to use the method (which can also work in this ROM), which is to either press CTL and pick the items or select first item press SHIFT then select last item.
MiChY's ROM has a lot of things in it. Depends on the percentage of them which you need, you might like it. For me, I always prefer the Vanilla approach which is what Irus is taking here. I like not having any unwanted software keyboard for example.
Both are fast. Both are stable. If I have to rank, I would need a video camera to record both and analyst the speed. In terms of stability however, I give a slight edge to Irus at this point in time, because I seem to still get quite a few freezes upon booting up in MiChY's ROM (Not anything serious though)
Just different philosophy and approach. I just happen to like Irus' approach better.
Having to choose one of the ROM is a hard decision because both these yound man are so talented, brilliant, polite, and helpful. It's probably going to neck to neck comparision. I might just toggle between the two as I really like both.
Edit:
I forgot to point out one big difference in the mail area. In MiChY's ROM, if I delete a mail item, it will not be downloaded again into my inbox. In Irus' ROM, I'm simply unable to stop the deleted mail from reappearing no matter how many times I delete them. The only way to prevent the mail from appearing on my device is to download the mail using my PC. I'm problbly consuming quite a bit of my data plan quota because of this flaw.
Anyone has an idea why the different behaviour? MiChY's ROM is closer to stock ROM in behavious in this regards, which is what I want.
Temporary solution in irus' ROM: Don't delete mail. Do the deletion on PC.
Edit: Another importatn differece:
If you're using 96dpi or 128 dpi and do video call, then MiChY's ROM has a working phone skin for it.

LOVE your cooking bro awesome custom roms!
This is a great ROM and I love the increase in battery life!!!! been able to use my phone extensively all day without having to charge it!!
Before I flash my phone again. Please let me know if the newest build still has this bug in it.
When you open the camera and take a picture, If you press the button to view the last picture you've taken in slide show, it locks up. You can only hit the home button to get out but if you do that, everything else you open locks up as well.
And another bug I had was I couldn't run the Diamond Hologram program.
I loved the ROM but was getting tired of soft resetting when using the camera and I missed Sprint TV.
Were any other changes made, like any optimizations?
How do you unlock the phone before you do the installation of JD's Rom?

How does this ROM specifically increase battery life or is it just a placebo effect? I try to avoid the hassle of using a customized ROM when the device is this new ( towards the last 6 months of using my 2 yr old Treo 700Wx i put a WM6 ROM on it), so what is the battery life juju this JD person is cooking into the ROM? I'd rather have that than a whole ROM.

LordLugard.. Im not sure what JD has specifically cooked into his ROM. You may be interested in this link as it details many hacks for the TP including extended battery life...
I'm using all the standard mogul hacks for battery life, and shutting off things like the IR sensor, which isn't there, to help conserve life.
The touch flow really sucks up the juice.
And you must remember, with this device having more ram to contend with, its going to be a bit more of a hog trying to power it.
Standard settup on my phone after restart is eating up 80 MB of ram. Thats a lot! This device does have a lot though.
I cannot wait to download this rom fix. There is a lot of silly stuff, and this should Improve performance as well.
Hey JD or anyone on here for that matter
I am a lil new here. My T.P. is unlocked with 3.5. My question is, is this an auto run rom like it would be to unlock or how do i go abouts running this i have a herman ruu downloaded but dont know if i need it.
i have done a minor search before i left for texas and couldnt really find anything specific for it other than a how to flash a rom post which didnt lead me to anything
thanks in advance...

Yea. I am wondering about that stuff too. I'm just now getting into this.
The cooked rom that I seen for CDMA Verizon 6700 was an executable that uploaded the rom, just like the other flashing programs.
Yes, can someone please explain "UNLOCKING your phone" for a CDMA phone, specifically the sprint touch pro?
From my understanding, CDMA phones are *customized* by the carrier. The only "unlocking" to be had is to get the MSL code, which allows you to edit the settings on your phone (which is necessary if you want to switch carriers).
search for hspl
Rom is installing the general apps right now. Will report my likings at a later time.
Great install, quick and easy.
Took about 3 minutes for me.

Today, I happened to spot a post on Vodafone forum with latest ROM info. The address is here: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=18695&st=40&start=40 User TheFitz said @ May 7 2009, 03:48 PM
"Hi All,
Great news (well for me anyway). I've received my new phone at midday as promissed by VF. The lateness of this post I didn't want to jump the gun on the new one working nicely. I've attached a copy of my ROM settings for viewing of the old and new versions. Old version(on the left) is 1.90.161.5 where as the new version is 5.10.161.1 and is 6 months later. It seems the new ROM has a load of tweeks which mean I believe there is a marked improvement in:
a) Call Quality - Had poor reception
b) Boot Time - 5ish mins to under a minute
c) Call connectivity - no problems so far
d) GPS startup speed - 6 Sats locked in 10 (YES 10) seconds
e) Touch Screen response is near perfect
f) Internet Connection may be faster, but difficult to tell
g) General application working times cut
h) Call connection both dialing and pickup is faster.
I have disabled TouchFlo, but I didn't use it anyway on the old phone.
I am happy to respond with further comments on things if people want anything else.
There is also an additional function that seems to be added that instead of 1 red and 1 green button when a call arrives, the buttons have been changed to a slider on screen which ensures movedment of the slider to either reject or answer to deal with the call. That'll save me answering the phone im my pocket. See 2nd pic for example
Old Phone rating out of 5 (1 Bad - 5 Good), I'd say -(minus)3!! rolleyes.gif
New Phone so far out of 5, I'd give it a 4.5, but I've never given a 5, so I am currently very happy with the phone. Will post if I notice any further problems.
In short, RING VF and get them to flash your ROM. This seems to solve the problem very well.
Thanks VF, customer satisfaction restored.

I've been waiting for this too, as I usually keep the stock ROMs (for the OS at least) until the warranty or my contract runs out, it deffinatly sucks that they've not released it as a download, they've done for all the others in the past including the Diamond?

Didn't receive the PM, but never mind.
Thanks for sharing, but it indeed looks like an internal IP address..
However, I think the supl.nokia.com is back in the air again.
I am now getting AGPS info injected again in the NMEA log, so it seems it's back up.
Anyone know how to reconstruct this dumped rom?
