I have asked around before about getting the WM6 VoIP on this bad boy, and no one seems interested. The standard Cab files will not work, and it has been speculated this is because of some missing certificate files.
I know there are few out there with other devices that have the 6800 as well, and we can compare the certificate files between the two devices to see if we can get this working.
Certificate bypass...
Have you tried "unlocking" the certificate requirements through the registry?
The settings are available on the HTC WIKI here: http://www.htcwiki.com/page/P4000+Telus?t=anon and will allow programs/cabs to be installed regardless of certificate authentication. Bear in mind, this is NOT a method of unlocking the phone for another network, simply a means to dismiss certificate requirements for program installation.
I'm not interested in the VOIP per se, but if the certificate is the problem, this might be a viable solution... I hope it helps.
Yes I have unlocked the phone. As said its only sepeculated its a certificate issue. After installing the WM6 Voip cab file, all files that are recommended you check for, are there, but the phone does not give you the option to select internet calling.
I have tried it too cannot get the today plugin to show....
internet calling just doesn't show up

all files installed, internet calling checked in today's settings, but doesn't appear on today's screen.
does anyone knows what's wrong with ppc6800?
Does anyone have another WM6 device that they have the VoIP Client working on. I think the key maybe a missing Registery setting, but dont have another device to compare too.
Look in this key:
\registry\HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\
I am guessing for something along the lines of: HiddenInternetPhone or HiddenVoip with a value of 0.
No "Internet Calling" on HTC P4000 (Telus)
I have the same problem. I installed WM6VoIP.CAB and SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB, and setup access to the voip provider sip server (voipbuster.com). I was logged into voipbuster on my laptop, and as soon as I clicked ok from the "Setup VOIP" page, I received a message on my laptop indicating that I've been logged out of voipbuster because I have logged in from another computer. So, this means that Internet Calling is indeed working (or at least connected to the voip sip server), but just doesn't show up on the Today screen. I can see the "Internet Calling" option in Settings > Today > Items page, but "Internet Calling" does not appear in the Today page. It may be hidden or missing due to a registry key as the previous poster suggests. I have no idea what that key would be, but if anybody could look and see if you can find anything that would ShowInternetCalling, HideInternetCalling, or something similar in the registry, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
VOIP works with no Internet Calling on Today Screen
I have an HTC P4000 (Titan, PPC6800) on the Telus network. And by installing WM6VoIP.CAB and SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB, I was able to go into the SetupVoIP app and on the last tap, set it to "Whenver Available." This causes VOIP to become active if there is a WiFi connection. Nothing shows up on the Today Screen, but in the Phone screen, TELUS changes to VOIP (or whatever you name the SIP connection). After that, all calls are being routed through the voip provider.
The volume of the rear speaker (and earpiece when connected) is rather low, but definitely audible. That's the last piece of the puzzle I have to figure out.
Now Working, just a few bugs
Ok I’ve got the WM6 sip client working on my phone (telus-p4000) the same way with all the same problems as sabrex does. I’ve tried many voip clients on this phone with the same speaker problem, I’ve read some where that the HTC api doesn’t reference how to access the earpiece speaker on the p4000. Believe me these other voip clients work on almost every phone with proper speaker output, it’s just the p4000 that routes the sound to the rear speaker. So what it looks like is the sip extension to the phone software is trying to use the default wm6 routing path there by pushing all the audio to the rear speaker instead of the earpiece. Now a work around like sabrex said is to use the corded external earpiece. I haven’t been able to get any Bluetooth headsets to work on any of the other voip clients but maybe someone will have better luck with the wm6 client. I don’t know much about sound routing in wm6 but any help with a direction to look in would be appreciated, but I think HTC will be the only ones capable of helping with this.

Has anyone been able to get the Today screen plugin to work with the P4000?
Hi All
Can anyone tell me where i can get hold of SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB ?? Many Thanks!!
Where to get SetupVoIP
Found it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1486120
This with WM6VoIP.CAB got it working on my Bell HTC-6800 (HTC Mogul / Titan). It's a user-contrib setup program that handles files and registry settings. Doesn't show on today screen, but it does redirect my phone to SIP when WiFi is available.
I've heard mention of a newer WM6VoIP.CAB, but I can't find it. The setup I have working puts audio through the back speaker, and from what I've read will be prone to very quiet audio.
Can you tell me how to di it from scratch? New Phone
i just got my Bell HTC-6800
Do I need to unlock it some how for this to work?
I have tried installing WM6VoIP.CAB and using SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB to no avail.
Please post details of "no avail". How far did you get, any error messages?
Did you configure SIP using SetupVoIP?
- use Start / Programs / Setup VoIP?
- docs / support here
- did you set options to "whenever available", or "only if cell is not available"?
Which SIP provider are you using?
Are you using 802.11? Browser works?
When you view the phone screen, does the top left show VoIP (vs Bell Mobility)?
The Today screen doesn't work on my 6800, and I don't know how to solve it. I can place and receive calls, but the received audio is very quiet and comes through the handsfree (back) speaker. Headset is also very quiet (both wired and bluetooth). But when I'm at our remote mining areas I can place and receive calls.
Are you experienced with VoIP in general, and SIP in particular?
The whole story is in this very long thread:

thanks for all the info here guys, i was able to get it working today on a bell 6800. im disappointed in the sound and features though. i have a nokia E70 and i use it's built in sip client which works will all the features of my asterisk PBX. i hope that this software will continue to improve.
Hi folks,
anyone managed to fix the audio problem on Titan ( P4000)
I get audio from the back speaher only
Thanks
back speaker audio
this is what i heard about the problem
Apparently HTC does not use standard Windows Mobile Audio paths on their devices as opposed to some of the other device manufactures.
This is word for word from HTC:
“It works on most other Windows Mobile devices because they more than likely use Microsoft standard audio path controls, HTC uses their own software architecture which is why it doesn't perform the same.”
Well, that sucks ...
They supply 80% of PDA phones to the market
and there is no work around it ?
My question, why is the sound quiet? Any other application that would put sound out would be normal volume. Why is the VoIP quiet then??
AGEphone Mobile 2 Speakerphone Edition does support the internal speaker on some select models (more to follow!) as of now!
My phone has been great since updating to DCD's latest cocktail but today I started having a really weird problem.
I would manually dial a number in the dialer screen (# was not in my contacts) and it would instead dial a similar number of one of my contacts. Tried it 5 times and even tried soft-resetting and it kept doing it.
After the soft Re-set and clearing my call memory it started choosing a different number to call but still the same issue. The numbers is chose were very similar, all had the same area code and the 1st 2 numbers were the same but after that completely different.
Is there a way to go to the stock dialer? I'm on a Verizon 6800.
Thanks.

Are you talking about smartdialing? If so this is normal
What it is doing is that when you dial a number whether it is in your contacts or not, it is trying to recognize numbers that you have dialed. If it matches it will display the name of the contact and options to give information.
But if you keep dialing and the numbers don't match with any contact then nothing will appear. It will just let you dial the number that you are trying to dial with out having to look through a familiar contact.
it was doing the smart thing narrowing it down as I entered more numbers but after the 6th number nothing matched so it showed just the number in the dialing section of the screen. Hit the send button and it would then choose a contact to dial instead.

Hmm that is odd... If you dont really use Smart dial, try disabling it in the options menu of the dial screen. This might help. Are you running a custom ROM or Stock?
DCD's newest custom ROM with the custom dial. I was hoping there was a way to load the stock dialer instead to see if that helped.
Wow... funny, I had the same thing happen a few times exactly as described. I dialed the complete 10 digit number and instead it dialed one of my contacts with the same area code and partial prefix. I figured it was just me.
I'll try disabling Smart Dialing and see if that fixes it.
Also I looked at the numbers I called and I was trying to dial XXX-761-2056 but it dialed XXX-709-8039 so not even close. The other time it tried dialing XXX-701-5325.

So you guys cooked your own ROMS and when you cooked it you put the Vogue Dialer , Vouge Skin, and Smartdial?
Or the Stock Titan Dialer ?
Because I installed the Vouge options with smartdial and mine works perfectly.
I will provide you with the Mogul / 6800 Big Button CAB which will replace your dialer and the Touch Skin CAB to skin the dialer.... This might work "you can always uninstall it"
I didn't do any cooking, I just took DCD's basic ROM and loaded that but it came with a different dialer than stock for the XV6800.
I'll give those dialers a shot, that a lot.
Turns out that this is the same dialer as the one built into DCD's ROM but what is interesting is no numbers showed on the keypad. It also showed up as HTC HTC Home for the install in remove programs
Well crap. Turns out the HTC HTC Home listing in remove did remove the HTC home plug in but not the dialer and now I've got not #'s on the keys. I can't find the uninstall line for this dialer, any ideas? Oh wait think I found it. The Bullfrog Big Button Dialer right?
I installed the Wizard reTouched dialer (installing it will fix your no number issue). I haven't tried just dialing a random number though... lemme give it a shot.
Ok, I just tested it and it worked fine, let me find the dialer. It looks EXACTLY the same as the "stock" one in DCD's rom, but I found it's a little different.
Ok, here it is, it's attached in the first post of this thread. There are some skins for it too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315685
I noticed that when I tried to skin the stock dialer it didn't skin right. I'd have no numbers, or some of the buttons wouldn't map right. I installed the dialer in the thread above and I was able to skin it fine, and it makes calls without issue.
P.S. The test number I dialed has the same area code and exchange as a few contacts.
Oh, and the Wizard dialer will show up in your remove programs list.
You guys need to install the Big Button dialer along with the Touch CAB
The Big Button Dialer just installs the Dialer and the Touch CAB skins the Dialer with the key pad.
I have tried the Wizard Retouched one, but I removed it because it looks wack to me because you can't modify it like the big button can.
So for those with not having a dial pad
Install the Mogul Big Button Dialer
Then
The Touch CAB
Or they can pick whichever one they prefer.
You know, choices and all...

True, but after all it was an opinion not a fact.
Fact is that with the big button dialer and the Touch skin cab it is easy to make your own skins by replacing the ones that the Touch skin cab created.
This is meant for true modifiers. Because you wont have to be installing cab after cab after cab or even worrying about getting a gsm dialer that removes certain features on your phone.
Since I really don't care for the custom dialers I deselected the dialer skin and the smartdailing in DCD's kitchen. Now I have an original WM6 Dialer with WM6 smartdialing and I really like it.

UPDATE
I am assuming you guys use CDMA since it is a TITAN Forum. Be advised that using the Wizard Touch Dialer will not only give you memory leaks, BUT
also disable the ability to use 911 and other features such as the advanced configuration mode on your phone.
Check out post 170 on the same link that redirects you to the Wizard dialer

Workaround
I have found that when you are dialing a number that is similar, or if it happens more than once, push up on the directional pad after dialing the number which deselects the smart dialing number in the window. then press the green button as usual. This seemed to help and hasn't done it for me in several days.
Serf, Since I'm a newb at custom ROMS I didn't do the kitchen thing. Maybe I need to give that a shot so I can get the stock dialer back.
I have an ATT Fuze and one of my coworkers got the Verizon Touch Pro and his phone doesn't show any new notification when there is a new voicemail. I've left multiple voicemails and there is no item on the Home TF3D screen under the New Call line, and there is no little icon in the top title bar.
I have both of these on my Fuze, and he's asked me for help on his, but I can't seem to find a reason that this would happen, (or not happen/show).
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
dial *228, option 1
I get VM notification on my Verizon TP.
Did your coworker do something to disable it, maybe unintentionally? For example, there is a registry hack which disables the HTC phone keypad skin, restores the default Microsoft one, and saves about 10M of RAM. Unfortunately, there are several side-effects, and I think one of them, is one looses a lot of the little icons at the top of the screen.

Im thinking there is an 80% chance he just needs to re program his phone (as instructed above)...
But why would you want to use verizon crap voicemail anyway? check out Youmail.....
I recently reinstalled faria crossbow on my g4 wizard (T-mobile MDA unlocked to AT&T) and went from radio 2.25.11 to 3.02, because I was having the common missed calls problem. I always used faria crossbow in the past (for 2 years now) without any problems to speak of.
I noticed this morning that when I go to check my voicemail I can't press any keys in-call to delete or repeat my messages. I can hear the tones as the buttons are pushed, but they do nothing to my voicemails. This also applies to any other calls which use touchtone features, like calling the bank or my insurance company and needing to press '0' for operator. It seems there is no communication between the phone and the network once a call is established.
I tried searching for this issue on google, but its a hard issue to condense into a search term ("touchtone mda problem", for example). So I'm starting a thread because I've had this problem with an 8525 I bought a couple years ago, and after several months of frustration I ended up selling the phone and going back to the 8125/MDA.
Please help me out!
In my experience, changing the keypad tone from long tones to short tones works for me.

Maybe you can try and see if that helps you, or the reverse of that.

Go to Start, Settings, Personal tab, select Phone and change the Keypad: tone.
seems like it should be something simple like that, but no dice. you say you had the same problem and that fixed it?
I had issues with my banks automated system until I switched to short tones then everything worked.
Since this didn’t work for you there must be some other issue.
You could backup your phones info and try a hard reset.
This has been asked a few times already but no-one seems to have a definite answer: Is there any way to permanently remove the list of numbers from behind and above the keypad on the phone screen? This list seems to be a mishmash of recent calls and addressbook numbers, with no rationale to it. It causes two problems:
1: It exposes confidential information to anyone who observes you using the phone to make a call.
2: Brushing against this list with a loose shirtsleeve, or any object with a static charge on it, causes unwanted dialling of a recent caller. You are then being eavesdropped on, probably without your realizing it.
The menu has an option to change this list to display speed-dial numbers only, which would be satisfactory IF the change was saved between calls. But, it isn't. Hang up, call again and the recent numbers are back.
The HD2 is a great phone except for one ot two annoying glitches, of which this is by far the worst. Any advances on previous threads requesting ways to remove this feature?
