*Solved*
I put the original LCM housing back in as the magnet on the new one didn't seam to exist. All now OK.
Hi,
I've just stripped down my wizard and replaced the full housing and fascias. Everything went back together well, or so I thought. The phone now works as normal apart from the screen rotate function no longer works when the keyboard is opened.
I've re-opened the phone but can't see the sensor that would be responsible for this. How does the phone know when the keyboard is in use?
My phone is a G4 with WizFlo 20273 ROM installed.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

i have an spv m3100..and after firmware update the touch screen does not work(not does not align...does not work....)
please someone help me
If you have a friend with the same phone, download remote screen alignment. It copies the alignment information off the Hermes to a PC. You can then use the app on the pc to align the hermes on the 1st startup though if the digitizer is stuffed then it won't fix it as it will go out of alignment almost immediately.
You can use the phone and most functions using the hard ware buttons though it can be a pain.
Theres also a file you can download (apparently) that is on the sd card and allows you to bypass the alignment screen but I can't tell you much more about it.
Cheers...
thx for the answer...but my problem its not to align the screen.....its to get the screen work........................the screen doesnt response
sorry for my english.....
Exactly, if you Hard reset or flash a new rom thinking to fix it you will be stuck at the alignment screen.
My digitizer went on my Jasjam, I could still use the hardware keys to navigate but the touchscreen was useless. I did a HR on advice I got off here. BIG MISTAKE.... Luckily for me I have a friend with the Jasjam too, I downloaded remote screen alignment and could use it (minus the touchscreen) until I could fix the LCD.
I beliee your digitizer has gone bung and needs to be replaced, easier to purchase a LCD/digitizer combo as its easier to replace.
Cheers...
delete the welcome.ink that is in the windows\startup folder and it wont ask for the alignment to be made. but as ultramag69 has stated if the touch screen digitiser is broken, then it wont be of any help. Out of curiosity, did the touchscreen work fine before you flashed the rom or is that the rreason you flashed a new rom, to try and fix it?
i can use my phone......but the touchscreen does not work...i reflash the old firmware...and again does not work.......how can i do hard reset?...and what is the cost of lcd/digitizer?
Hi, really need some help pls. i recently changed the glass lens on the housing of my HD2, i opened it up to change it but when i put it back together i have problems. When i was undoing it one of the ribbons on the motherboard became loose, which i put back in. Im not a complete noob to reparing electronics (got an ipod ) but can't work this out: The camera does not load up, just says 'unable to initialize camera. failed to set up camera device'. The speaker no longer works and the side volume buttons do nothing but everything else is fine.
I thought it might be a loose connection but i checked them all and was careful taking it apart (easy compared to ipod). Is it possible i need a hard reset? or has something died?
Any suggestions appreciated
I have very annoying issue with my HTC HD2. During call my screen goes black and when I move it away from my face it doesn't turn on.
But when I put the device in horizontal position with screen facing down it lights. On the other hand when I put it facing up it turns off again.
I guess It's problem not with proximity sensor but with g-sensor. I have this problem both on stock WM rom and Android. I used Task29 and installed stock rom again and for the first time it helped. Now it doesn't change anything.
I downloaded program called proximity recalibrator. And again when I'm shaking the device it changes near/far position and real distance from objects doesn't matter.
I made short movie to show you the problem:
youtube.com/watch?v=vCloMmboCl8
Do you have any solution?
Hope this helps..........I had the same problem and tried various reg tweaks and BSB tweaks etc but nothing cured it, I finally read a post on XDA stating that it was probably the screen protector confusing the light sensor, I removed it and hey presto, Sometimes its the simplest things that are the best lol.
I don't have screen protector so it has to be something else

Hi,
have u ever solved this problem?
I started with this probel after a hard reset (stock rom 1.66 ita): with the same rom before hard reset it was working correctly, now it behaves randomly...
I have this problem occasionally with my HD2. I keep it in an Otterbox Defender case, and dust and grime build up on the screen in front of the sensor. When I take the phone out of the case (which has a built in screen protector) and clean both the screen protector and the phone's screen, the problem goes away.
Well I did it... Broke the screen a couple of weekends ago. Ordered and received a new one. (No problem and not too bad price-wise) Then I ordered the correct screwdriver. That came in yesterday and I followed a couple of tutorials online to take the thing apart. Not too bad despite the teeny-tiny parts. I got it back together and lo-it worked! Actually it took a couple of tries and I reflashed it but then it booted right up. All the apps seemed responsive and life was good once again...
Until I tried to make a call. Then the screen went dark and it appeared that the phone froze up. Called myself from the house phone and discovered that the Aria was dialing, connecting, and sending voice but that I couldn't hear anything on the Aria.
Disassembled, re-set the earpiece, reassembled, called myself again, and I could hear. The screen came on and stayed on, but the touchscreen would not function.
Disassembled, checked all the connections, and reassembled again. The phone appears to work correctly in all aspects until I try to make or receive calls. At that point the screen shuts down and the only way to disconnect a call (or get the screen back) is to pull the battery and reboot.
I tried reflashing the ROM and that didn't work. I'm afraid the transceiver is shorting the screen out somehow but have reached the limits of my expertise.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jerry
I have never had to replace my digitizer so only speaking from what i have read but it sounds like the very small rubber piece that covers the proximity sensor. I have read that if missing or not placed correctly people have had the same problem as you. Just my thoughts
I've replaced my digitizer and I have had the exact same problem. E.Cardo is correct, it is the small rubber piece on the proximity sensor not positioned correctly or not present at all.
Thanks to both of you. The proximity sensor is supposed to be right behind the ATT logo, correct?
I can't wait to get home and try this. I really don't like the backup Cliq Xt... I'll post once I've messed with it.

It's hard to see them exactly so I took a picture to show exactly where they are:

It's actually just above the & in the at&t logo, although if you have a replacement digitizer, it might not have the at&t logo on it. If you have trouble seeing it, try looking at it in the sunlight.
To add to what drumist said there as small black rubber piece that goes around the proximity sensor that prevents light seepage and allot of people discard it by mistake when disassembling the phone.

Why did you have to reflash? The new screen didn't worked?.
My aria's screen is broken too. I boutgh a new one but It doesn't work. Do you resolve this reflashing? (that's mean applying the new rom version from ATT)
Thanks for your response.

The screen or digitizer are hardware they should have nothing to do with the rom. The op only tried flashing the phone to illuminate it is a possible source of the problem. It sounds like you did not install the new screen or digitizer correctly you may need to disassemble and make sure everything is connected correctly and securely. Flashing your phone will most likely not correct your problem.

Maybe, just maybe, there are new drivers for the touchscreen included in the rom. I am using cyanogen 7.0.3 without problems, and it works nice with the old screen.
Or the new screen is defective.
I am pretty sure I installed correctly the new screen. Of course the old one is working fine right now.
I requested a new screen so I will wait...
Thanks again.
Hi,
I've tried a number of firmwares Europe/Asian/T-Mobile and my local Telstra Rom. But no success.
I replaced my smashed digitizer and LCD the other day, however everything works great, the touch response is inverted - Left to Right. All touches on the left side are responding as if I'm touching the right side of the screen. Everything in the middle is fine obviously but from there it's mirrored.
It's quite possible that because the digitizer was bought from the USA and its in a Telstra (T8697) phone, it's somehow incompatible.
By bootloader is stating the TOUCH is C1(v66)
Does anyone think they may have a solution to this? a Registry edit or some kind of Screen calibration?
Cheers for any help.
BTW - The digitizer capacitive buttons are also mirrored i.e. Back is Search and Search is Back.
This digitizer also has a circle around the Windows (Start) button. My old screen didn't have this..
same problem
Hi gauge41,
I have the same problem :crying:. Do you have a solution ?
I bought my touchscreen on uk by ebay.

All updates have been done through Zune software without changes.
Best regards.

I've read somewhere, that there are two modifications of a touchscreen for mozart and they are not compatible, so if your previous digitizer didn't have a circle around windows button, but new one does, mirrored input is definitely because of that. Haven't heard of any registry tweaks to fix that, and I don't think you can fix it by installing different rom. You should probably get a compatible digitizer replacement or try installing different touch screen drivers.
