Silicone cases shortening my HD battery life :D - Touch HD Accessories

Before you think I've lost my marbles hear me out.
I've notice when my phone is in a silicone case it gets hot. You may not feel it getting hot but take off the silicone case and feel how hot the actual phone can get after prolonged use or even when it's just inside your jacket pocket for a couple of hours.

Heat is bad for batteries as illustrated in this table. You can read up more at www.batteryuniversity.com
Anyone experience shortened battery life or the phone heating up quicker than without a silicone case?

Yes it's true,
but think about this.
One new battery is sold for 20-30USD on ebay and you can see
how much does it cost
1.Back panel
2.Front digitizer...
So it's up to you what you will prefer

That's not the problem I have...
The phone is getting really hot in operation with my silicone case and effecting battery life badly during use so my phone doesn't even last a day. I haven't changed anything on my phone except putting on a silicone case but noticed my battery life is now terrible compared to before. I really need to do some more test with and without the case.
I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

I have a evo3 iskin for my ipod which has micropores on the back for heat dissipation...I think all of these types of cases should have some kind of vent b/c it does affect battery life...but I doubt manufacturers will do this with the cheap silicone cases for the HD. Maybe you can make some tiny holes in the back and see if that helps

Is it save to put it in my phone to check if its still working or can it damage my phone?

first thing is make sure your battery have really dry yet
then if you dare, try it to your phone
as far as i know, some electronic things is safe to be washed
but before use it, make sure it really have dry yet (like motherboard computer, its safe if you washed it, of course it have been plugged out from the case then use it when it dry)
sorry for my bad english
Best thing to do is get a new battery.
I for one wouldn't risk putting a 20 euro battery in my 250 euro phone.
Admit defeat and get a new battery, or you might have to suffer the consequences of screwing up a phone. If a single droplet is between the wrapping, it will turn into "steam" when it gets hot, and your phone might suffer damage due to the water that will eventually build up.
After over 3 weeks of drying i just risked it and its working fine. The phone even report the battery as "good"
use rice to dry the phone or battery.

[Q] a sigh of disbelief

i just got this phone used in immaculate condition just a few days ago.
i was browsing through its internet and i was mesmerized by how beautiful the screen was.
i didn't realize that time has passed by so fast that i am already late at school.
realizing i have to get in class on time. i am in a hurry--put the phone in my pocket and hop in my car.
i heard a crashing--shattering noise.
i realize something has gone missing, and something went horribly wrong.
i looked at the floor with a horror on my face. as the reality kicks in--with a sigh of disbelief, the phone meets the floor... :crying:

Ouch. This is why spending the extra $4 on a case from ebay is recommended. After dropping so many phones, I don't take the chance anymore. Also if you decide to sell it, it will look as good as the day you bought it. It sends chills down my spine thinking of putting a naked phone in my pocket.
Yeah, I always have a case on. I used to use tpu cases, I've come to like my otterbox commuter case. Sorry to the OP for sure though.
Case is good idea, along with insurance from carrier ..

I have never used a case in my life. I have a little dent on the bottom rear cover. I have dropped it dozens of times, it just never fell face down onto a point. I must have a horseshoe up my a** I dunno, lol. The build quality seems the same as the original EVO, atleast from my mishaps.

I've just got the Roxfit Slimline Book Case from Amazon today, alas, no phone as yet! Its cheaper than the official Sony case, I paid £13.50, but is well made with a quality feel to it. Obviously I cant comment on fit or durability but Ive always had my phones in cases and this is one of the more premium feeling cases ive owned. Well worth the money based on its build quality.
Inside the front cover the material has a soft rubbery feel that grips onto the screen whilst closed to stop it moving around (roughly tested with my iphone 5 in the housing). The back of the case also folds away, similar to the official case so the phone can be placed in the charging dock. The outer material is similar to the apple iPad cover. The clear plastic shell that holds the phone has a thin foam layer in to absorb any shock and prevent any scratches on the rear glass panel.
I've still got a week wait for my phone before I can test it thoroughly.

Supported portrait position
Supported landscape position (back)
The case closed
The case opened
The case fits 100%, but it may be a bit tight if you don't remove the back protector on the tablet.
It supports on-off mode (turns on the screen when opened and it turns off the screen when closed).
The only thing I am not happy is there's no anti-slip corners.
Hi, I just ordered one and I'm interested in the magnets in the cover.
Some reviewers say that they aren't very secure and if the case is faced down the screen cover just drops.
I heard the case is a bit on the heavy side, but it seems pretty well made, I'm hoping the weight isn't that noticeable
Also, is the MicroSD slot covered?
Thanks, the information would be appreciated.

Question Another Great Rugged Case From CaseBorne by ArmadilloTek

After 2 years with the Vanguard case for my s10 plus, I immediately got A52 case from ArmadilloTek ( They told me they are rebranding to CaseBorne)

This case offers very good protection for the phone itself. I just got a new one for my A52-5G after replacing my old S10Plus phone. The Samsung had this case on it for 2 years and survived a number of drops which resulted in small cracks on the case's corners but no damage to the phone. The new version has an orange EVA foam layer inside the case, now I don't need to worry about the scratches, and I am so sure the foam layer can absorb lots of shocks,
Unlike the Supcase, this case does not have a built-in screen protector, which is so much better.
Come one, those plastic SP is flimsy and makes the case feel cheap. The manufacturer just eliminates the screen protector. I installed a glass SP, now it means protection.
I constantly drop my phone and my 5-year-old daughter is a master at knocking my phone out of my hands as well. All that combined could be a disaster for a phone. I've used Otterbox cases in the past and loved them but when I got my phone the Galaxy A52 5g they didn't make a case for it. It's held up great with multiple drops. I actually just dropped my phone on the concrete about 2 minutes before writing this review lol. It will definitely protect your phone from drops and grabby toddlers
You can get one from Amazon:

Looking good, but what about overheating? Does this case allow heat to dissipate properly?
For now, I don't have that problem,, I don't use a52 for gaming or wireless charging.
