I second that. Motherflippin. Is there a reg setting missing somewhere, or is it an audio driver issue?
Still doesnt work on MightyROM 4.12 either.

Works with Juggalo's rom perfectly
Yeah its not working on MightROM 4.12 for me either. My voice sounds fine.....incoming caller can barely be heard
It's working on my Sprint Touch Pro, but the incoming voice is very faint. Anyone sort this out yet?
Thanks!
To anyone that have had any success with true, real recording (read: not plain sound bleeding from the speaker to the mike):
Could you please post your results to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496303 in order to be able to collect all the working model & ROM & hack combos in a nicely formatted chart / list and not forcing users to read thru 50-60 page-long threads?

Is this supposed to work with the Stock ROM from Sprint the way it comes originally? or do we have to have one of the custom ROMs installed?
I tried it on my new Touch PRO and after the step to install the wavedev.dll and soft reset, I get an error saying "voicecmd.exe experienced some error plese restart voicecmd.exe." and after that when making or receiving call the other party can't hear me, nor can I play any audio out of the device.

Here is what I ended up doing on my Sprint Touch Pro, which has its manufacture's ROM (version 2.01.651.6) and runs on wm6.1, to install ICR successfully:
1) Note: In these steps, you will end up replacing some files in the Window's folder. The consequence is that you will not be able to delete the ICR program entirely once you do the replacements. If you do delete the ICR program partially, you will not be able to re-install it without doing a hard reset.
2) Note: To achieve the file replacements in the wildow's folder, my instructions have file renaming scheme. Others use a program called Total Commander to do it.
3) Go to the Windows' folder (which you will find under Start, Programs, File Explorer, select Device and click "Up" until you are at the highest level, then click on Windows's foler). Click on Menu, and choose "Show all files."
4) In the Windows folder, find and copy the file wavedev.dll to your microSD card. It is important that you obtain a copy of this file before you do anything else if your phone is CDMA such as those for Sprint Touch Pro. According to another post in PPC Geeks forum, GSM phones should not do this step, but it wouldn't be bad to save file in case you want to erase programs and this file is needed.
5) Install Conflipper Slide 2 Answer.cab and do a soft reset (You must change the original S2A to this CDMA S2A or any other CDMA S2A that allows a red light to appear on your screen when you start call recording. None of the original Sprint S2A's will work. This S2A will look the same as the original Sprint one, but it will have the red light capability and thus be compatible with the ICR program). (You may also use Juggalo_X's CDMA S2A, but I did not try it. If you do want to try Juggalo_X's CDMA S2A, be aware that he has a black and white version. The white version is like your original HTC/Sprint version of S2A. I tried his black version, but it would not erase when I wanted to erase it. But that could be from the ICR program that I had installed.)
6) Install InCallRecording_Wavdev DLL.cab and do a soft reset. (There are many versions of ICR CAB, but I was successful with this one. I did not try all the other ones.) After soft resetting, you will get some sort of page pop up saying something like "voicecmd.exe experienced some error please restart voicecmd.exe." Ignore this for now, and be aware that at this time you will not be able to talk on you phone because the ICR program replaced the file wavedev.dll in your Window's folder with its own version of this file, which is not compatible with Sprint's Touch Pro.
7) Extract the two files in ICR_BEEP.zip (ICR_BEEP.wav, ICR_BEEPBEEP.wav) to Windows folder. This purpose of these two files is to stop ICR from beeping during recordings that the ICR program will play every minute or so. In some state's you may legally have to let ICR beep to warn the other person that the call is being recorded. So before replacing these beep files and using ICR, check your local laws for compliance.
8) This step may not be necessay, but I never tried ICR installations without it to find out: Extract voAMRNBEnc.dll file to Windows' folder. (If it does not allow to do it, first extract it to your microSD card and rename to something else like XXXvoAMRNBEnc.dll. Now extract the renamed file to Windows' folder. Find the same file that already exists in Windows folder "voAMRNBENC.dll" and try to rename this file to something else like ZZZvoAMRNBEnc.dll, which you will delete later. Now go to your renamed file (XXXvoAMRNBEnc.dll) and name back to voAMRNBEnc.dll. Soft reset and come back to Windows' folder to delete ZZZvoAMRNBEnc.dll. Soft reset again.)
9) Do not do this step if your phone is GSM: If your phone is CDMA, go to your microSD card and copy the file wavedev.dll, which you had copied to your microSD in step 2. Then, go to the windows' folder and paste it there. The files will come up as "Copy of wavedev.dll," and make sure that you do not change this name (i.e., do not delete "copy of" portion of the name). (Because the ICR program that you installed put its own wavedev.dll file in the Window's folder and eliminates the original one, this step is necessary to restore the original wavedev.dll file that was in your Window's folder.) Now, soft reset, and your phone can should be able to have sound again. Now, the error message following the installation of the ICR CAB mentioned in step 6 should not come up after soft resetting.
10) For Sprint's Touch Pro, the in-call recording requires that you put the call on speaker, but the sound quality is very good. (I don't know whether the conversation is being recoded by the mic from what the phone's loud speaker says or internally by the ICR program. However, when I turned on the speaker and blocked it with my hand, the sound quality of the other person calling did not change.) Additionally, the ICR program only works during phone calls. After the call is connected, click on menu in the call screen, and choose "Start Recording."
Disclaimer: Use my instructions at your own risk. Back up all your data, and be prepared to hard reset your phone if your phone gets missed up in the process.

Good luck and please post your results plus detailed instructions as I have for other phones like Sprint's Touch pro2. I may buy it once they release the official wm6.5, and I want to be able to use ICR with Sprint Touch Pro2 running on wm6.5. And somebody tell HTC to lighten up and let your U.S. customers have ICR too. Other primitive phones in the U.S. have it, so their legal concerns is blown out of proportions!

I've searched this and other forums for solutions (.cab and regedits), but none of them worked for me.
I'm trying to get PC Anywhere 12.5 mobile to run on a custom ROM on my VZW HTC Touch Pro. It works perfectly on the stock ROM, the "pre-release" linked in the stock section, Scott's "6.5 beta" post -- but I can't get the darn thing to properly work on any of Scott's 6.1 custom ROMs. It will install w/o errors just fine on the latter, but as soon as I reboot and try to run the program I get the dreaded "application cannot be found or not signed with a trusted certificate error."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with HTC Touch HD...
I´m having the same problem. I try everything that you can think.
My phone is a HTC Touch HD.
The strange thing is that my wife has an Sansumg Omnia with windows mobile 6.1, and I install PCAnywhere and works fine.
If you find a solution, please tell to everybody, i will do the same.
Thank you.
I'm also having an issue with pcAnywhere on my HTC Touch Pro.
It installs fine. However, when I go to connect to a host it sits there with a warning "Warning: Reducing encryption level." -- and it hangs. On the Host I can see the phone trying to connect, but it never makes it. I've tried changing the encryption level to none, tried adding encryption, made sure the phone (remote) and host match.. and nothing. It'll never connect.
The same version of pcAnywhere mobile (3.0.0 Build 123) works fine on my HP iPAQ and HTC Apache without any issues. I've also tried a newer build (from the pcAnywhere 12.5 CD) and I've come away with the same results.
If anyone has any ideas....
Any updates?

That sucks, as this is one of the programs that I actually did use. Hopefully someone will figure it out. I'd be willing to donate some $ to the cause.
can you upload the cab so i can take a look at the files and see if i can find an issue...if you want pm me so you dont have to post in the open public...
Any news on these invalid cert. messages? I am having the same issue. Is there a way to turn off certificate on programs??? Wouldn't that be much simpler?

I had the same problem. At least for me, the fix was to delete all the files that were MFC80xxx.dll. Then I could reinstall this.
I posted this fix a long time ago, but for anyone that may need it again, the way to get this program to work (at least for me):
After install - reboot the device.
Then, look for all the MFC80xxx.DLL files
Rename them to MFC80xxx.dll - it is important that these are all lowercase (the .dll extension).
It should work indefinitely after that fix.
For whatever reason, when pcAnywhere installs, after initial use or after reboot all the MFC80xxx.dll files have a capital .DLL extension. This will make it so that they cannot be read correctly for any application (including my backup applications). But changing it to smaller case .dll works. If you are concerned, reboot and check if it is still in lower case. It should be, but if not, just rename it again - it should stay for good.
Good luck for all that use this program.
Ok, I tried MANY different magical incantactions, the hokey pokey.. blah blah blah blah, nothing would work. Install this ICR, softreset, uninstall blah blah blah, do a dance... burn some candles... hogwash.
For us CDMA users it's the WAVDEV.DLL file! Then you also need the correct registry entry in order to record from the DIALER.. but not if you're using a third party audio recording app. I got the dll over at PPCGeeks, atm I do not remember the thread. Sorry, I will update this post once I find it again. Just unzip the files, there are only two of them, a dll, and a cab file. Copy the WAVDEV DLL file to your WINDOWS directory. I used GSFINDER and it let me, others use RESCO FILE EXPLORER, whatever file explorer will let you do it, use that one. Once you've copied that DLL to the windows folder, run the cab file and install it to the DEVICE. Now do a soft reset. Bingo! Now you can record from the dialer AND from a third party application like PM RECORDER, or VITO AUDIO NOTES or whatever. I'm currently using MightyROM 4.16 but I suspect this will work on many or all ROMS since this is an issue with the WAVDEV file. I am planning on going back to my stock rom and trying it out and flashing to other ROMS just to test it. Please post your feedback. THANK YOU! And remember this is for us CDMA users! (Sprint, Verizon, US CELLULAR, etc.)
EDIT: Thus far I have NOT been able to get this working with the STOCK USCC ROM. I am going to continue to try different ROMS and post back with the details. As I already mentioned, I had it working on MightyROM 4.16
Thanks.

Follow up on this thread for Verizon TP users
Hi All,
Thank you for posting this. I upgraded my Verizon TP with the latest ROM that fixed the GPS issue. I could not replace my wave.dll file with any of the tools but it does not seem to matter with this ROM version. I have the CDMA version of S2A installed and I use the non touch flo phone dialer canvas. When the phone application connects there is a menu to record in the phone menu, but all calls are saved as .wav files in the device Notes directory.
I am wondering now if some of the other ICR applications were working but sending the files to the Notes directory too. Anyway the 2 way recording registry settings do not exist without your .cab file and this seems to work well for me. Thanks again!
Best regards,
Jmorse_1964

Radio/Firm: 1.03.15f

(Default that came with the device Dec 08)
My wife recently got a Sprint Touch Pro, and considering the flashing junkie that I am (and how much I hate stock roms), the first thing I did was to jump in here to see what could be done about it. Much to my surprise, it seems that XDA-Devs has very little information regarding the HTC Herman variants (Sprint, Verizon, Alltel, etc.) since most of the development for the Raphael is being done for the GSM version only. There are a few scattered threads about this but I figured that a sticky (and a Wiki update) will not hurt the site and as an added bonus, it will help the noobs (and some Seniors too ).
I found most of this information in ppcgeeks.com, so feel free to lurk around that forum as well since it is packed with useful information.
Instructions are the same as with the GSM models, only inverted. In other words, IF YOU FLASH THIS ON A NON-CDMA PHONE, YOU WILL BRICK IT. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
I am not responsible if you brick, damage, or affect the functionality of your phone in any way, shape, or form. Do this under your own discretion...
And as usual, when in doubt...READ!!!!
Edit: You will need a software to unzip the files (Winzip, Winrar, 7-zip, etc). It has been reported that the Vista file decompressor (or something like that) will associate this package with Adobe reader, making it difficult to open it...
Edit 2: If you are flashing for MetroPCS, please follow this amazing guide that dreynam2 has put together!!!
Here goes:
Step 1: HardSPL Unlocking!
Again, all this information can be found in www.ppcgeeks.com (original thread here). I just wanted to make it available to people at this site. Thanks to cmonex and the full CDMA Raphael Elite Team!
UPDATE: VZW SPL posted. (there will be an all-in-one unlocker later, but until then please read the instructions and decide which file is for your device.)
CDMA Raphael Elite Team (see: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41345) presents exclusive Touch Pro CDMA Hard-SPL to you!
SSPL, HSPL, relocker made by cmonex, Wrappers by olinex, SD flasher and relocker (coming soon) by no2chem. thanks to NexVision (btw I'm really sorry), zule/Shadowmite and no2chem for testing!!!
there are three HSPL's now (for the non-verizon ones it is a similar scene to Diamond_C).
1. 0.25.MFG for Sprint/Alltel/Telus/Bell, for hackers only, because otherwise, it is too old, apparently has splashscreen issues and only 128MB ram. but it has mw, it has rtask, etc. etc.
2. 0.37 for Sprint/Alltel/Telus/Bell, for other people, this has no screen issues but no MFG commands.
3. 0.35 for Verizon touch pro's ONLY.
Important:
first, if you have GSM Touch Pro/Raphael (NOT CDMA, NOT SPRINT/VERIZON/ALLTEL/TELUS/BELL), this will brick your device.
to download a compatible hardspl package for gsm touch pro you can go to forum.xda-developers.com.
but if you have CDMA Touch Pro/Raphael, then you have to use this hardspl, not the one at xda-developers!!!
preparations before flash:
1) make sure you have .NET framework installed on your PC! if not, get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
2) if you have vista, WMDC update is recommended: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ce-center.mspx
3) now decide which Hard-SPL you want to flash. if you have Verizon, flash VZW package (from verizon attachment). if you have Sprint, Telus or Alltel or Bell, flash default package (Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.zip).
instructions:
1) download Hard-SPL package from attachment, extract to an empty folder.
2) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3) run HardSPL exe that you downloaded before.
4) follow steps in the RUU, and check on the device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) it should go to tricolour screen now and say 0.25.C-SSPL or for Verizon devices it should say 0.35-C-SSPL.
6) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 0.35.CMONEX or 0.37.CMONEX (or 0.25.CMONEX MFG).
NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from the SSPLManual.zip attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is in SSPL, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.
make sure to get SSPL-Manual specifically for Verizon phones from the verizon package.
NOTE 3: this is unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs or radio packages. also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, a stock SPL downgrade package is also available here.
NOTE 4: do not use this RUU to flash anything else! this is only intended for flashing the Hard-SPL.
NOTE 5: use Relocker *only* if you need to return the phone for warranty. only use it as last step - after reflashing stock OS and radio. Default relocker is for Sprint etc, Raphael_CDMA_VZW_Relocker in the verizon package is for Verizon touch pro's.
EDIT: I tried on multiple occasions to upload the Verizon unlocker to this thread, but the system keeps on refusing it again and again (main reason why I had a link to the original site). Go to the PPCGeeks site and get the unlocker from there (alternatively, this was provide by psouza. Thanks!)
Step 2: Choosing the ROM that Fits Your Style
Congratulations! If you are reading Step 2, that means that you successfully unlocked your phone (or are about to make a no-no). Make sure that your phone is HardSPL unlocked or else you will not be able to flash.
Taste is a matter of personal choice. As I stated in my previous post, most of the development for this phone is being done at PPCGeeks, and since posting every Rom thread in here would be time consuming (and possibly useless), I am giving you this link to all the custom ROMS.
Which one is best you ask? Again, a matter of personal choice. Some roms are feature packed, whereas others are light and fast. Really up to you...
Link to Roms
Step 3: Flashing Your New ROM!
Well, Step 3, that means that you chose a ROM and are ready to get down and dirty with your device (and about to kiss that ugly stock rom good bye). As with the flashing of any device, make sure that:
a. Your device has battery of 50% or more, else you might end up with a half flashed brick.
b. You have ActiveSync/Device Central in your PC.
c. That you read the steps below over and over and over again until you can repeat them in your sleep.
Make sure to follow every single step down to the T. I cannot stress this enough.
How to Flash Via PC:
1.download the ruu.zip attachment
2.unzip to your desktop
3.then in the newly created RUU directory add the rom of your choice - (copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to desktop\RUU)
4.Place phone in bootloader mode (power button while holding volume down button)
5.open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
6.follow the RUU on screen instructions from there
If that fails please trying these directions (thanks sn0b0ard)
1. Establish active sync connection (this is the most important step).
2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh into the RUU folder.
3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps on screen to flash ROM.
4. Once the phone reboots, go through Windows Mobile setup and let it finish.
5. Perform a hard reset (hold power, volume down, and center d-pad).
6. Complete the Windows Mobile setup and start using your new ROM!
Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):
1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.
Step 4: Tweaks, Tweaks, and Tweaks!! (Part 1)
Step 4!!! Wow, you must feel in cloud 9 right now! You successfully got rid of that stock rom (without making a $700 paperweight) and are ready to tweak your device to your own liking! Here are some tips and tweaks that I found over at PPCGeek (Original thread) Thanks Baffles!!
Note:Go to the original thread for all the cabs.
Tweaks and Fixes:
Basic:
If your device is showing you random issues, such as speaker/ear piece being crappy out of the box, do a hard reset. Some have reported this simple task has solved their problems. You can do this one of two ways: either select clear storage from the system tab in settings (Start->Settings), or power off the device, hold volume down and OK, and hit the power button.
If your data isn't working, try this.
Disable SMS Sent Notification: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs] Set SMSNoSentMsg to 1
Install the Picture Mail enhancement from Sprint - run PIE, and click "Click here to check for new updates." (if you changed your homepage, go to Sprint PowerDeck from favorites) Then download and install the cab file listed. This will have to be done after every hard reset. Still seems picmail doesn't like to work right, though.
Phone:
Install new Audiopara for louder volume
Enable/Disable mute call when phone is flipped over - [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE] Set FaceDownMuteRing=1 to enable, or =0 to disable. Source
You can make your phone stop making noise when you enable/disable the radio. Edit [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA\FlightModeOnOff] and change Sound_on and Sound_off to desired sound, or blank for no sound. source.
Issues with answering your phone when a data connection is open (answer buttons don't do anything)? Looks like a tweak messes up a registry key that affects this. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings], make sure SuspendResume is set to #777 (not anything containing GPRS). This issue seems to be related to Advanced Config. source
Added 1/7/09:
Enable wake up on SMS - you can do this via DiamondTweak (possibly advanced config too), or [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL] DisableSMSWakeUpEvent=0 (to enable waking up). source
Set up Visual Voicemail on Sprint. More info here. THIS IS VERY YMMV.
Internet:
This hack no longer needed on the latest version of WMWifiRouter - Disable temperature sensing in WMWifiRouter to get it to allow you to connect. Options->Configuration->Battery->Next->Next->Next->Select "Disable temperature detection"->Next. There is a bug, at least in my version, that shows "Enable temperature detection twice" however selecting the second one disables it.
Hack Internet Sharing to work: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] Delete Extension key, set/create MaxCMCon=0 (decimal). [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings] Set ForceCellConnection="Sprint" -- Cabified Version Here
Change "Reply All" in poutlook back to "Reply" - [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Servic es\OutlookEnhancement], set module to an empty string. TO revert, set module to "\\windows\\OutlookEnhancement.dll"

If your text is too big, such as in text messaging, go to Start->Settings->System->Screen->Text Size and move the slider to the size of text you want. Alternatively, you can move your thumb in a circle around the OK button, similar to how you would use the click wheel on an ipod. This will adjust the font size too.

PST Tweaks:
First thing you must do is get your MSL. I wrote an app to make this very easy for you, more info on it here. If you have problems getting your MSL, put your phone in flight mode and try again.
You can tweak your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) to make your phone poll the tower more often. This makes your texts and phone calls come through quicker. This setting is a trade off between lag (most noticeable when receiving calls) and battery life. The default value on our phones is 2. Every step of 1 adds 1.28 seconds to the poll time, so at a value of 2 it is only polling every 5 seconds or so. Most people lower this to 1, so the phone polls every 2.5 seconds. This won't affect battery life much in areas of good coverage, but may impact it noticeably if you're in a poor reception area. Your Access Overload Class (ACCOLC) determines your phone's priority on the cell tower. The higher the number, the lower the priority. Do note that 0 and 1 are reserved for emergency service uses, so DO NOT use these. You can ACCOLC's of 2-9, default on Sprint should be the last digit of your phone number.
Now that I've laid down the basic groundwork of the two main mods, here's how to change them. Don't mess with settings in here unless you know exactly what you're doing, as phone performance and usability will be affected. To enter programming mode, open your phone screen and dial ##778# (may be ##778 on some devices, if that doesn't work, run EPST.exe from \Windows). Click edit, type in your MSL, and hit OK. Now choose View Info in the lower left corner, and hit NAM settings. On this page you can change your ACCOLC (remember, don't use 0 or 1). Now, switch to the Modem Settings page to change your SCI (default is 2, valid values are 0-7). Now accept the changes and soft reset, and you're updated!

If you have to Relock the phone for warranty purposes, just use the relocker in the first post. Now, there is a trick to use this thing. If you want to relock and just run the exe with the phone connected, you will get an error.
Flash back to original Shipped Rom and Radio BEFORE Relocking!!!!!
*First, put the device in bootloader mode (Hold Vol Down +Power +Reset until you see the bootloader screen (multicolored). It will say Security Unlocked and a bunch of other numbers including (and this is key) 0.37 Olinex (or Monx, I can't remember right now)
*Now, run the exe in your computer. This process takes about 1-2 minutes at the most. The phone will reset after its done.
*To check if it worked, wait until it finishes rebooting and go to bootloader once more. If done correctly, it will still say "Security Unlocked" but it will say 0.37.0000 instead of what I wrote earlier in this post. You should be goof to go from this point on.

You are awesome, I have helped alot of new people who have flashed GSM ROM's to their CDMA devices and this will help out alot! Even though I have a GSM Fuze, please let me know if I can help you with this in any way. It has been discouraging to see how the new people who have mistakenly flashed the wrong ROM to their phones have been treated and I know alot about phones GSM and CDMA and am also a member of PPC Geeks and have been for some time (not much posting mostly reading) my name there is dashmaster1000. So if you would like some help or just want me to gather and compile information I am more than willing to help you! Again thank you!

Thanks man! I have seen how you've helped people out (especially in the NRGZ roms since I am around there for the most part). I have asked NATF to cross post this sticky in the Raphael Rom Development as well, to prevent "accidents" from happening. Is there any particular reason why you cannot flash via USB? I am only asking simply because it is a far easier process.
Just follow the instructions of Step 3 and you should be ok. One thing to mention, do not let go of the VolDown and Power Button when you see the bootloader. You have to hold them down since it will go to a white screen with a set of instructions in blue right after that. It is the same process as with a Hard Reset. Make sure that you did the HardSPL prior to flashing a rom. Good luck!
Thanks!

Flashing Question
This may seem like a strange question but here goes...
I am considering flashing my Touch Pro and wonder if any one has tried doing it in Win XP Pro running under Parallels on a Mac? ActiveSync works fine so I know the communication between the two is fine. I really don't want to drag my old Win 2K machine out and upgrade the RAM and OS just to start playing around with different ROMs... but I don't want a $600 brick either.
Thanks to all in advance!

It has been tested, and it works great.
On a side note, once you get HardSPL on the phone, I suggest flashing from your SD card directly. Not only does it eliminate the need for ActiveSync, but it is also 2-3 time faster.
total noob
HI every1.. total noob here..I am considering flashing my USCellular TP...
I understand USCC is CDMA? Does it matter which rom i use? Does the rom have to specify USCellular er what ..
im clueless thanks in advance
It should not matter as long as it is a CDMA rom. What makes it carrier specific are certain apps that come with the original. However, you may want to check with the cook, just to be on the safe side. Good luck!
Good ROM for Verizon TP
I have a Verizon Touch Pro and am thinking about flashing. I am curious what is a good rom that is out there. I love the TF3D so I want it included with the ROM. Aside from that I don't really have any preferences (Super fast would be a plus). Thanks for any advice.

Go to the link that I provided in Step 3 of my guide. Most of the available roms are in there. As far as which one is good, it really is a matter of personal taste. Mighty 4 (WM 6.1) is said to be one of the best and most stable ones out there. I used Fallen 2.1 and that was a pretty good rom. Very fast and relatively clean but with the app that you will want to have at one point or another. Good luck!
Hi,
I've found many software that supposed to help in case your phone get lost or stolen.
Some were expensive, some were free, but none fitted perfectly to what I was really expecting. So I've made my own.
The closest in terms of functionnalities (and price) is Remote Tracker, but it requires .NET 3.5 which is not installed on my WM6.5 phone, and honestly, it's a very fat dependency.
The idea is that you install this software (no CAB, simply copy the 2 files on your phone), and run it once to set up the configuration. Then forget it.
In the case the phone is stolen, the software will send you a SMS with the thief's phone number, it's GPS position, the CellID in case the GPS pos is not available.
You'll then be able to act on your phone remotely by sending it some SMS (described in documentation).
The features that makes this software unique are:
It's possible to destroy all your personal data remotely (call log history, contact, emails, SMS, calendar, owner info, storage card) -> help social engineering to get back your phone.
It's possible to make the phone send you back the call history and the sim contacts.
Slut mode (see the documentation for details).
WOULDYOUSHUTUP mode (where the phone is very very nasty).
All other tracking software features...
This software is open C++ source (GPLv3), small (75ko with no dependencies), and free.
You'll find it at http://dsmp.sf.net (documentation on that page)
Or the direct link is attached.
Beta tester welcome (I've tested all functions already, but, you know what software development is....)
Some remarks for those who don't read threads:
whereRU: requires you to have at least a .wav file in your windows ring folder. I thought all phone had at least one .wav based ring. In 64kb, I haven't included a MP3/AAC/MP4 player.
owner: This is what I said in my first posts. Microsoft didn't feel it was interesting to document how to retrieve owner info. So, almost all manufacturer have made there own proprietary stuff. I've a HTC phone, so I've checked the code work for HTC. If you have more information about where your phone store its owner information in registry, I can add your phone support.
contact: On the main config dialog, in the combo box where you can enter the phone number to contact, you'll have a phone number list. It's the same list as returned in the "contact" command. So if you don't have such list in the config dialog, then this means that either you don't have any contact on your SIM card, or it's not working (in that case PM me).
Please read the website http://dsmp.sf.net
To install the software:
1. Extract the zip file (either on your phone, or on the PC, and then copy the 2 files from archive to your phone)
2. Run the extracted exe on your phone. If you have signed warning say yes.
3. Set up your configuration (DON'T check "Don't show this screen anymore")
4. If you have a GPS in your device, go outside to make sure the GPS is working with the configuration you've made
5. Enter a (not yours) phone number in the SMS par edit/combobox
6. Enter a password in the edit box on the bottom
7. Click done => Say yes.
8. Start the software again, enter the previous password in the field on the botton to unlock the dialog, then click on "Configuration done, install now"
9. If you have signature warning for the DLL say yes.
10. It should display "Installation done". You can then send yourself a SMS with the right format to check if it's working.
11. If it's working, delete the SMS you've just sent from your outbox, and trash, and then start the software again and check "Don't show this screen anymore". You'll have to click "Configuration done" again, but this times, you shouldn't have any warning.
12. If it's not working, well post on the forum.
Changelog:
- Added "allow" command so it's possible to use multiple allowed SIM card. Setup the software as described above, and then change your card. You'll get a SMS with the new number (if not, your configuration isn't good). Then reply with the command "dsmp # allow # password" with no space between #. This SIM card is then allowed. You can have up to 4 allowed SIM card.
- Fixed an installation bug on non-french phone. Sorry, I've been lazy, and it should be fixed.
- Added support for "Dsmp" in addition of "dsmp" as trigger code
- More owner info retrieved for HTC phones
Please go to sf.net page ( http://dsmp.sf.net ) if you want to get the debug version or source code.
sounds impressive ! i might give it a try!
good work !
CDMA diamond running a 6.1 rom. got to step 8 and each time I enter in my password and close my keyboard the screen where the keyboard was (touchpal is my SIP) shows the screen behind what it should show. hope that makes sense. how do I uninstall this software?
also, I dont see anywhere where it says what WOULDYOUSHUTUP mode is.
WOULDYOUSHUTUP is what happen when you send a sms with "whereRU". The phone rings at max volume for 60s with no possible way to stop it, even if it was in silent mode.
Useful when you've lost your phone nearby, (it won't stop until you've found it, or 60s later), or, as intended, to become a nuisance to any thief in the middle of the night.
To uninstall the software you must click on "Zap" button, but you need your password for that. BTW if you haven't done step 8, you don't need to uninstall, as the installation proceed only when you click "Configuration done" button.
If the software doesn't accept the password you've set at step 6, then it's likely that it was entered wrong at first? I'll PM you about this, if you don't mind.
installed it, and tested a whereRU with another phone, doesn't work. :\
I've answered with specific details by PM. I trying to understand why installation didn't work for you. I'll update the post with the informations you'll give me.
sounds really nice.
I just see some problems. These problems apply to any anti-theft program :
If you have a pin-lock for the device (not sim card lock, the built-in windows lock), the thief will not be able to change anything (owner, ...). He can only change the sim and try to boot, what will of course fail. As this fails (without unlocking phone-lock, no dialing), he will not be able to establish a connection to his mobile network and you will not get his number (?!)
As hard-reset is always possible (every thief can google ) w/o the program being cooked into rom, this software is senseless if you can't cook roms. I can't
If I understood it correctly, you would need to edit the 2 files to your needs (with numbers aso) at first instance and afterwards cook them into rom. This has to be done by each end-user each time he flashes a new rom and cant be done by rom-chef because he doesnt know your data.
Isn't it possible to make that wireless? E.g. you specify an email there and the programm will at first boot after hardreset (after cooking into rom) establish a connection to a server (or mail to specified mail) to download the details (cell number, pw, ...) you entered in the server? ^^
You only can enter one own cell number. Bad if you sometimes switch the sim's.
Would be better to implement that from remotetracker:
SIM Cards: you can set up to four known SIM cards. If you, or anyone, change the SIM card to an unknown card, your emergency number and e-mails will receive a message alerting you about the change and with the new number

* If you use this kind of software, you'll want to make your thief believe he succeed owning your phone. If you PIN-lock your device, then the thief will have to hard reset the phone to use it, defeating the whole process.
* In my previous phone (Universal), there was a Extended ROM made by the operator that survived hard reset. I've used that ROM by that time.
Now, you're perfectly right, with a single ROM, the hard reset kills the software. Your idea of using a external server is genius. I guess I'll add this, using your device ID (which doesn't change whatever the ROM) (or IMEI), to retrieve the config for your phone. The config will be saved on a server, and the config can be sent back by SMS (so even if the thief doesn't have network contract, it'll work).
* You switch SIM ? Is 2 SIM okay ?
I wanted the software to be extremely simple to setup, so it detected the IMSI by itself.
Now, if you need to store 2 IMSI, it'll need another edit box to let you enter the IMSI numbers.
I can add a new command "allow" that, when you've inserted your second SIM, will allow the new IMSI upon receiving.
Let me think about this.
Yep, but I won't -of course- disable excellent built-in security mechanisms to make it *perhaps* easier to get the phone back just in case someone steals my phone.
The phone-lock is ideal to keep away random access to private and corporate data from other persons (friends, aso).
Despite the lack of some functions I installed the program yesterday and it doesn't work as thought:
The program loads after each reset again with the config screen
The program is active in task manager (dsmp.exe)
The sent commands aren't executed. If I send the commands (e.g. rst or whereRU) to the phone, the display turns on but nothing happens.
(perhaps the first 2 problems are caused because I did not hide the program yet with "Do not show this anymore" Not sure about that )
You could just say at setup: Now turn off the phone and enter your other sim and start the setup again to detect the second sim
hi popol256,
is there a chance for a very thin application, that after installed on a phone (e.g LEO) makes JUST the following:
- receiving a predefined SMS lock's the phone and encrypts the msd card.
To unlock the phone and decrypt the msd card, just a so called "master password" or whatever needs to be input.
That's all
thank you,
/s1
Locking the phone is possible (but again, if you lock the phone, then the thief will hard reset it).
Encrypting the microSD card is not, I think.
So far, I think you need to either encrypt it at first use (all WM6 phone have this as a base feature). When you have data on it and want to encrypt, it's almost impossible as you'll need the same free space on your device as your card size to store the encrypted version.
(Or if only encrypting content, you'll need to reserve half your card size for the "possibly" encrypted archive).
I guess the best method for you if to use the storage card encryption feature of WM + pin lock.

You are right. The only way to have both would be to cook your own ROM with the software inside.

Yes the 2 first issues are because the config says to show the dialog.
The third issue means that the software isn't installed well.
I've only tested it on my phone, and I might have done something wrong.
There is a debugversion here
Extract this version to your card, then run the exe in it, and click "Zap". Then wait for few minutes, and reset your phone (this is to make internal mail application to release its lock on the interceptor DLL).
Run the software again, and set the config, click "done" or "ok", and send yourself a SMS (don't need to install this version, it runs from the card).
You should get 2 message box, the first one contains the path to the software (end in .exe), and the message you've sent, and the second only contains the command you've sent. If this work, well, I'll have to double check the release version.

Yes, it's the basic idea (in fact, as soon as you insert your second SIM, you'll receive a SMS, but you'll then send an "allow" command to add this IMSI in the allowed IMSI list). I'm adding this.

Ok, my fault then, I've used French name for the path. Let me few hours to compile a new version with the regular name, I'll post back here.
Ok, I've added the "allow" command for multiple sim card. The idea is simple, configure your software as said in the first page, then change your sim.
You'll received a SMS to the number you've set up. Then send a "allow" command with your password, and the new SIM is allowed you'll never receive a SMS again.
bliblablub,
Please run the version you have on your storage card, and click "Zap" button to uninstall it.
Then delete the 4xxxxxxxxx_dfed_p (xxxxx is a hexadecimal number) from your storage card (file format changed).
Then download the updated DSMP.zip version from the main (or the official) page again.
There was a bug with the file path that should be fixed now with the release version.
Thank you for your patience.

10. Now you have to watch your screen very careful, when the text “Hold dpad center to launch installer” appears, press the middle button.
11. Now a install menu will come up, select the 1st option, Install system
12. Now there will pop-up a messenge “This will wipe your existing system!” just select YES, this will not remove your windows mobile installation, it should delete a previous android installation, which is not installed yet..
13. Now there will pop-up another messenger “Would you like to clear data too?(Suggested)” select YES again.
14. Now android will be installed on your SD-Card, when it is done, you will return to the install menu, now just select Quit and it will boot in android.

Good news
I would to try it out. Can you upload your android package here?
yes, nike users can use the package for the vogue. the problem for me was that nike could not wake up after sleeping because we have different key mapping than vogue or kaiser. how is ur battery life?
im on school right now.
when im home, ill upload a complete rip of my SD card.
what i've done is the following:
i downloaded the pack for the HTC kaiser/vogue etc.
then i used the default.txt from a android made for the htc niki.
the only thing i changed in there was change "Zimage" to "Zimage-monsha"
then i could just install the andoid on my sd card and run it.
i don't know about the battery life yet, i didn't test it very well yet.
it's pretty laggy though so it will need some very good improvements.
Did your data work? I also got eclaire runniung on nike on ext2 partition using the methods from the vogue forums, but I noticed some issues:
- No data
- Slow
- I Tried to patch the new 3d driver stuff into the kernel. Afterwards i had accellerated graphics without textures (live wallpapers). But i have the same issue on some combinations of older builds, kernels and rootfs.
I also tried other builds from ext2 (all without rootfs, no working data on any of them , but it seems like the old versions with rootfs work better (-> data works)
i did not test it anymore.
i was at school.
rightnow im at home, so ill make a rip of my sd card, this is not formatted in ext2 or something.
i just deleted all the data on the sd card, and i just installed it.
it will take a while to upload, cause its pretty big.
right now im going to upload the .rar file.
it is 115 MB big, so make sure your sd-card is bigger than 512 MB

i tryed with sleepmode on 0, and it just worken, also on 1 it just worked.
i do not know how to see if full sleep is working, but it could be also working on the HTC Touch-Dual *NIKI*
set pm.sleep_mode=4. Data don´t work. Data don´t work on Nike with more new Android OS like donuts(1.6) or eclair(2.1) only in olders like android 1.5. Nike handsets lacks of android developers. We have no luck like Polaris/Vogue/Kaiser/Diamond users
i know, but i edited the default.txt a lil, by changing the resolution, i had less lagg, but it does not show the whole screen :S
even when im using the resolution of the screen :X
if u set the sleepmode to 0, can u wake the device? i never been able to. could u post just your default.txt here? anyway, data is working for me.
Running
I tried this, i'ts running, here's my report:
1. I cannot make a call (incoming or outcome).
2. I cannot send the SMS
but the operators carries found..

yes it awakes then.
and i did not test it with sim yet, the first thing i wanted to do is a good fast stable android build.
i found one, only one problem:
you cannot install it on your niki, i have to take the data.img and system.img from a HTC Kaiser(which uses my dad)
i already got a rip, right now im going to test if that works.
then i will delete all settings in there, and upload it here, one thing; it is REALLY fast!!

Tried it here in Germany. Boots fine, but no Data. Carrier shows up and after creating a new APN, The Modem APP shows active Connection, IP Address and so on. But for some Reason, there's no Flow of Data...
Any Ideas ?

Data don´t work on Nike with the more newest android builts. We lack developers
I noticed that data works on eclair and donut, but the connection drops after a (very) short time. Sometimes I was able to load one or two webpages after a fresh boot until the connection went down (20Key Nike, O2 Germany). I also got google sync once working for a few seconds (enough to fetch mail).
So it seems to be more a stability issue than a general lack of data connection.
Does anyone have developent experience with android? I am now compiling the eclair build with the latest libraries from the vogue andoid git tree, but if someone already knows were the data problem is or what it could be i could find a faster solution, any in the development would be great.

It´s true. It is like get freezed. If you go to modem and you want to disconnect it say disconnected but you can see still the icon and sometimes the up arrow. After this if you want to turn off the hanset you can´t and its needed a soft reset. So after get connect and with a luck to browse two webpages it get freezed
