Hi Guys, new to this forum so hello! Had a search and could'nt find info regarding unlocking s740. Mine is on orange, can it be unlocked easily, and if so how can i go about it.

you need to contact them and request it, you might need to pay as well
I assume that having 3 means you bought them elsewhere than on contract?
Or do you have 3 contracts?
You also said Athena, not Ameo. I thought the Athena was unlocked already?
Can you clarify the situation a little please?

i think you also needs to be the original owner of Ameo inorder to unlock it. I have bough a T-mobile MDA PRO from ebay before as well, and the only way to unlock it officially is to get the owner to call them and get the code for me.

Tried to unlock cingular 3125 on ebay where I just send my imei to cellunlockimei.com but they can't find the code for my imei.Other sellers can't unlock it because they use the same tool.I can't use imei-check.com so I try to find another service.Is anybody use another service?

I got my 3125 sim-unlocked simply by asking my buddy who has Cingular/AT&T to call them for the code. It was fast and free.
I bought one locked 3125 on ebay and now can't find unlocking solution.I've tried to unlock it 2 times by unlock code what I bought on ebay but both sellers could not find unlock code for my IMEI .This phone is new and I think they do not have code for my phone yet. Then I bought unlock via cable at cellcorner.com and today I've got refund and email "Remote unlock by cable is not currently available". I'm not US citizen and I can't call to cingular.I can't use imei-check.com because I had negative experience with this company. Is anybody tried another online services for unlocking 3125?Thank you.

You need to but an unlock code. Put a different network sim in the phone, it will ask for the code, put it in, done!

You need to BUY an unlock code sorry. ... and No,... No free methods that I know of.
There are lots of websites around, I have never used one though.
I use a £3 turbo sim, works brilliantly, lets me use my O2-UK SIM in my Orange network locked handset with no problems.

No problems.
1st thing I would do is get AmonRa's custom recovery installed. Then you will be able to change ROMs when ever you want.
Follow BTDAG's guide in my signature, read the whole thing through including the FAQ at the bottom,... then start playing!!!!

hey sorry but u said u used a 3 quid turbo sim?? if i didnt misunderstand it u had your phone locked to orange?? do you mind pm-ing me the site u used for the code? i have an orange locked htc hero as well and am going overseas in the next 2 weeks..i called orange and they said they would send me the code but that was like months ago. thanks

Yeah its locked to Orange. A turbosim is something that you stick to your own simcard, it then tricks the phone into thinking its using the network it was intended for. I got mine from good 'ol ebay.
Search for turbo sim or rebel sim
To Unlock it from Network Lock,you can use the Unlock code.............To get the Unlock code you can reach the site Onlinegsmunlock.com and get the code and Unlock it...Then You can use with any GSM Network Sim card....
My phone was locked to t-mobile, and i needed it unlocked...
Went to a local service, i payed 12 euros for unlocking (not with codes) ...
I not sure how those guys unlocked it, but i know they used a jtag and maybe used a hboot that obviously skips the "locking" security Don't know for sure (they didn't disassembled the phone for soldering pins and stuff the screws are still with the "void" sticker)

Hello I have an HTC Hero on Orange UK and it is locked to Orange. I'm trying to get it to get it unlocked so that I can give it to my brother who is on T Mobile UK.
At first I though it would be as simple as loading a new ROM but after rooting it and installing both Villian and a Taiwanese ROM I still couldn't use the T Mobile SIM.
I am aware that the unlocking codes could be brought from Orange but I was wondering if there was a way of unlocking it with out purchasing the unlocking codes.
I have had a look online and on here for various methods but i couldn't find anything of any use. I am aware that this may not be the first time this has been asked so if you have any solutions please link me or explain...
Finally I am pretty tech able am able to do most things.

Short answer: Pay for a code
Long answer: Don't pay orange £20 for a code, go look on eBay for one. Mine cost £6.99.

Orange and T-Mobile are now the same company (can't remember who bought who) so your brother should be able to use the hero straight away.
If it doesn't work then Orange should now unlock it to T-Mobile without question, considering that they are one and the same.

Please disregard this misinformed statement!
Orange and T-Mobile merged, neither bought either, and their "parent company" Everything Everywhere (lame name) was created.
They do network share, so customers can opt in to use the masts from the other network, but by no means are they the same network now.
The brands are due to remain seperate, and lets be fair
1) why would they believe that it was going to be on T-Mob, surely if they'd unlock for free without question everyone would just say that
2) they're wanting to make £25 quid out of you, and they will do for as long as its legally possible.
Once again, short answer: buy a code on ebay.
Buy a code off ebay then you have to downgrade your rom to an early modaco one cant remember which one i used , enter the code to unlock it then reflash an up to date rom.
Thats the only way to unlock a orange hero just had to do 3 off emm mate.

Is Modaco 2.9 ROM still the only method to unlock Orange UK? Currently running RCMix and rooted. Better still, how one did recently.

Yes think it was that one mate... it was one of the very early modaco custom roms anyway.

You should head to your local phone service provider and they should do it for you. Not more than $10 US.
In my country , they do it for free.

get it unlocked from ebay they do it at less price i got my hd2 unlocked from there
Take a look on ebay.uk my friend is very cheap about 5 euro, visit NCKseller shop.
I bought unlock code from sim-unlock.net .Tested on Orange and it worked very well.
