HS U350 - Looks very good but why so hard to get ? - Touch HD Accessories

Hi,
I wanted to have an audio cable for HD which has an integrated mic with call button and a 3.5mm audio jack. I landed on this HTC original product HS U350 while googling around.
However in the US it looks like only expansys shows the listing and that too with an expected date of March 26. Does anyone have this audio cable. Care to share your experiences ?
Also let meknow where can I find it sooner if someone has the info.
Here's the only place where I could find it.

I'm looking for this item too.... seems xpansy swedish page has for shippment a few days earlier.

Buy this instead:

Costs next to nothing and works exactly the same without the HTC branding. The button still answers calls or dials - just like the original.
I got one the other day and am very happy with it... as I can use my own headphones and still use the button!
You can also change what you want the button to do by changing the redial.exe file in the Windows directory. I changed it so that a double tap runs voice command - so I can control everything by voice

Wow.. thanks for the reply. I see some other options as well which also has a volume control. So in general are the iphone 3.5mm jack accessories compatible with Touch 3.5mm jack ?
Also can u explain the quoted line. What do u exactly mean by changing the redial.exe ? Do u rename the application u want to work with the button as redial.exe in windows

Exactly!!
I think redial.exe is the default command thats called when you double press the button on your wired headset. I renamed whatever the msvc .exe file was called to redial.exe and now when I double press the button I get msvc.
I've tried a few specific iPhone wired headsets and they all seem to work - making me think that their all the same. I like my V-Moda set - but I wanted to be able to use my cheap over ear Sony ones for snowboarding so that they don't fall off - hence my purchase of the £2.30 adapter above!

btw, I ordered earlier HTC HS U110 3.5mm Audio Adapter Cable Stereo Headset, and it wasnt compactible with my HD, so I don't think all headsets are supported with this device. Placed an order for U350 headset on 17 Mar, still waiting

p.s. it is pricey

Anyone got their HS U350 yet?
Seems not shipped anywhere yet, and now it is 27th of march...

griffin also has one with mic for the iphone which matches the looks and works well with the blackstone...

Hey is anyone aware of being able to do the double click to skip forward a track? Could someone give me idiot instructions on how to do this?

Buttons on a Motorolla HT820 Stereo Headset

I recently bought a HT820, and I got it working with my SX66, but the Play/Pause and the track forward/back buttons don't work. Is there any way to map those buttons to a function on the SX66?
Not that I know of (the 3900 stack doesn't seem to support the AVRCP profile). I'm looking for this, too...
I recently bought a HT820, and I got it working with my SX66
I have an XDAiis and have recently purchased the same headphones, I upgraded the bluetooth settings from the site below
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAn...age BT 1.0.0.3900 and audiogw.dll - 1.33g.00/
I too can now listen to stereo audio but again the buttons on the right hand earpiece do not work.
I think that the problem lies with Windows media 10.
Try using TCPMP, which is free software, (use google), you will find that all buttons now work.
The software isn't as friendly to use as WM10 but at least the buttons fully operate on the headphones.
Good luck

How to force buttons work in WMP 10.
The buttons do not work because BtCeAvIf.dll contains some tricky code to control WMP. It looks for the skin file to parse it for the button positions and then send messages to WMP window. But the place in registry and the skin files themselves changes from wmp 9. So we need to fix both.
The idea is to make new skin files and force widcomm code to use them. WMP 10 should use the new ones of course.
Look in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Skins] în your device
There must be several string variables, we need "DefaultPortraitSkin" and "DefaultLandscapeSkin", there the paths to skin files, portrait192.skn and landscape192.skn (or 96 for non VGA devices)
Find the files in \\Windows folder and copy them on PC. Rename them in e.g. _portrait192.skn
and _landscape192.skn
Then open them in notepad (turn word wrap off in it).
Find "PlayPauseStop" and delete all in and later columns (remove everything after 0,0,0). This line should look like all other buttons defininitions. Rename "PlayPauseStop" in "PlayPause" and align all.
Copy the new renamed files back to device.
Create new registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Player\Parameters]
"DefaultLandscapeSkin"="\\Windows\\_landscape192.skn"
"DefaultPortraitSkin"="\\Windows\\_portrait192.skn"

It works with my Anycom headset! Thanks!!!
Just make sure you replace every number 192 in the trick with 96 (as the Blue Angel is a QVGA device). Oh, and the double backslashes in the registry strings at the end should be single backslashes (and don't include any quotes in the strings).
Tried it, and it didnt work :-(
I think i did it right, ill double check after dinner,
any one else had any luck with hacking the registry thing?
i spoke to soon, well sort of
Doesnt work with windows media player 10
but does work with TCPMP :-D
which is the better of the players anyhow :-D
So result :-D
hoping for success

i have portrait and landscape in both 192 and 96 (4 files)
do i edit all 4 files? could i get something to copy and paste?
using wmp10. not too comfortable with reg edit. can try but any thing i need to know?
thanks for directions, hopefully i'll be ok
i only eidted the 96 ones
i wasnt to comfortable with regedit, but i used a program that allowed me to edit it on the pc, to make it easier.
i wrote a very bad guide how i got it working with tcpmp ( a better player than wm10)

fully functioning headset/A2DP only thing missing now is...

anyone got any ideas about that?
thanks for BT setup instructions. i may not be the brightest, but i am not dee dee dee...
have a great night, waiting to hear some input.

I really don't know if it's possible on the Blue Angel... More recent devices already have some kind of headset/voice command support, only using a different program, so you just have to make it use MS Voice Command instead. But the with the BA, you'd have to implement it from scratch.
Still... it would be excellent if someone could get it to work.

V-Moda headsets?

Are the V-Moda's for the iPhone compatible with the HD?

Hi mate,
yes I have the V-moda vibe duo's and they work great. The button on the earphones can be used to answer calls and call the last dialled number, but not change tracks. I also have the UE superfi 5 pro's which also sound great with the handset - although they're a tad loud! Hope this helps.
Richard
the new vibe II work fine too
the button work as answer call and call last dial
Great
I got a set of these last Christmas for use with my iPhone - and then I moved to a Touch Diamond which has the naff USB headphone connector.
Going to get a Touch HD next week - so thats another good reason to buy!!

What about the Motorola S9 HD?
On the vmoda set if you hold down the button you get voice command like when you hold the answer button on the phone.
If you get MSVC installed you can then hold the button and say the commands. I'm waiting for Dutty's next ROM and I'll install the MSVC version to test this - but I think you should be able to fully control the media player with voice commands.

dev competition - disabling headset remote

Hello developers,
You are simply great. You make a lot of nice stuff day by day. Thanks all of you!!!
My question:
Can someone of you disable the hero receiving signals from the headset. Even if I use simple earphones, when I stand up, or turn my body, the music stops, the phone calls the latest called person.
Can somebody do it?
Roland
You can use a different music player from the market. As far as I know not every app reacts to remote commands
You should edit your /etc/bluez/audio.conf file
[General]
Enable=Sink,Headset,Gateway,Source
Disable=Control
This SHOULD work, but you've gotta test it.
@klaus27
it's a good idea
but it still makes calls

EVERY ROM has it.
just adb pull it, and re-push it, then reboot.
Or you can edit in place, just remount /system/ as rw, open the file in nano, and that's it.

Try /system/etc/bluez/audio.conf
/system/etc is the real location of the etc folder. /etc/ is a symlink to /system/etc, and maybe it's not there in all ROMs.
EDIT: Although, I'm not 100% sure changing the bluetooth settings will affect a plug-in headset.
I found it, thanks
I'm editing it right now
It didn't work. : I
The remote still works, and it drops calls if I move while calling
Is there any way to redirect music to bluetooth? That would solve everything.
the file looks like this now:
# Configuration file for the bluez audio plugin (A2DP)
[General]
Enable=Source,Gateway,Sink,Headset
Disable=Control
# Switch to master role for incoming connections (defaults to true)
#Master=true
# Just an example of potential config options for the other interfaces
[A2DP]
SBCSources=1
MPEG12Sources=0
[AVRCP]
InputDeviceName=AVRCP
Is it okay like this?
just buy a set of headphones off eBay for a quid.sorted
I have one and I love it
but it does the same, even if it has no remote
I sit down, stand up, turn around and it drops calls, stops music etc.
what developer can help me to disable it?
it is so stupid. I bought this phone not really cheap, and now I have to buy an mp3 player?!
android is opened
I'm sure, that somebody can help me.
I pay 10$ for the person, who solves it. Exactly: I can listen to music on my wired earphones without changing to the next, calling somebody or dropping call by itself.
I have never had that, but with the apple inear headphones clicking the center button twice made it call the last person in the call list but " Meridian Player conservative " has an option to turn on the controls for the player so now double clicking the middle changes the song! Give it a try
Hoped this helped
If I understand exactly, you use simple headphones WIRED, no BT.
And, try you another headphones? Or problem is in HERO. Some broke down in jack connector?
What original firmware? Same problem?
I use koss plugin with hero fw htc, sensehero1.6 and now with Androbin, without problem.
With my previous phone i have similar problem with hands-free headphones with "call button".
I have sensehero 1.6 on the device and it is the same with the original headset or my simple philips earphones.
But I'll try the meridian player : )

Compatible earphones?

Right, now this almost made me send this phone back, thats how much it annoyed me, but i decided to soldier on none-the-less. I have a pair of Sony in earphones with remote, said remote works on my Desire, with every music player ive ever used in the last 19 months, never had a problem, but for some reason they dont work with my Razr, and neither do a pair of iPod/iPhone in earphones that are kicking around the abode (the missus', not mine ), with any music player i try that i know works on my Desire.
I queried this on another forum and apparently both sets of earphones i tried are "incompatible" Is this true? are only certain earphones able to work with the Razr? And if so, does anyone know if there is a "compatible" list of earphones that work?
Could you good people just list the earphones that work for you, and maybe we could get a good list of working sets for people to be able to reference to, to make life a bit easier for all us music listen too'ers.
Any help with this would be much appreciated, and not just by me im sure.

Try "Headset Droid" out. I haven't tested with the RAZR, but it's worked for me on every other device.

ugh, seriously? Google needs to standardize the headset controls pronto - this is a problem that should NOT exist..My RAZR arrives today so I'll post later this evening (CST) if the JLab J3M's work or not.
If all else fails, there's always bluetooth (those controls are standardized, so they'll work). I personally like the Jabra Clipper (if you can still find it). Allows you to use any set of headphones you prefer with the bluetooth receiver.

Ok, so without Headset Droid installed, my JLab's did not work - at all. Not even pause worked.
I installed Headset Droid and configured it as such:
General Settings ->
Double Click Delay: 250ms
Click and hold delay: 450ms
Target Media Player: Music
Ignore Simulated Clicks: NOT checked
Button Actions -> Play/Pause button actions ->
Single Click: Play/Pause + answer call/end call
Double Click: Next Track + decline call/mute mic
Triple Click: Next Track + repeat caller
Quadruple Click: Next Track
Click and Hold: Volume reset and rise
Double click and hold: rewind
triple click and hold: fast forward
These settings work acceptably with the stock music app (and I'm sure they'll work for any 3rd party app as well, just change the target media player setting).
Remember: Headset Droid will not work if on the main screen it doesn't say "service is activated". Headset droid should automatically start once it detects the use of headset controls.
You can try to tweak it for better response (mine's not perfect) by clicking on "headset monitor" and testing to see how your headset button presses are being interpreted by the system. You may need to change delays or other settings to get it just right for your tastes (i'm not 100% happy with mine yet either).
This is the only solution I have..but it's certainly better than buying a new headset that will most likely sound like..well..awful. Once it's set right, you never have to touch it again, it really is a silent app - if you like it, throw some cash the developer's way (as I have).
is there something like this for the razr

Hi, i have AKG Q350. Control (vol + & -) and mic don't work
I have a Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth head set. Sense it is motorola, all functions work with the RAZR, to include, play, pause, skip, go back a song, and volume. With a built in mike you can also send and receive phone calls.
Being wireless, it's great for working out or what ever. I have great range with mine. Haven't had any issues with sweat or humidity.
Only draw backs, if you have a small head, it may not fit you correctly. Also, sense the 2.3.6 update, volume is very loud. I have to keep all media volumes turned all the way down most of the time. And with the Battery/receiver portion in the back, it's not very comfortable to lay on. I have to go with regular head phones when lounging on the couch.
I love them for 95% of the day though. Give them a look.
Headphone jack wiring
I had this problem as well - I tracked it down to the pinout of the jack being reversed at the tip (mic and ground reversed) - which makes iphone-compatible headsets not razr compatible.
I picked up a nice set of Seinheiser's specifically for android, and they worked without a hitch. Anything designed to work for apple though, forget it.
I am of course excluding bluetooth from this, I'm talking wired headsets only.
It's a pain. There's an adapter you can purchase - kvconnection had them the last time i looked - but it's annoying to need yet another bit of tech.
My dr dre ur beats that came with a sensation xe dont work on the razr. They do respond with the app player pro. But still not 100%

Any *wired* mic / headphone set support the play / pause button?

I've done a few searches but have not been able to find an answer. Does the Transformer support the play / pause button on *any* wired mic / headset combo? I've tried a set of Skullcandy FMJ and a Sansung Vibrant headset, neither of which get a response from the Transformer. Just wondering if this feature was supported on any wired mic / headset out on the market, or is it just not supported at all?
Thanks!

I have the same issue on the TF101, I was hoping to be able to get at least the play/pause button to work on the TF101 but so far no luck. I have the Image S5i from Klipsch and with the app I do get more functionality from the play/pause button (+ & -- buttons still do not function though) on my LG G2x.
So I am wondering IF it is possible that TF101 is not capable of supporting button functionality from a headset. I sure hope that is NOT the case. I would really like to be able to use at least the play/pause function from my Image S5i's.
If any body knows a remedy to make it operational it would be greatly appreciated from both me and my wife.
