Is the ROM version newer than 1.90.206.4?
If so then I will gladly rebuild the ROM for you once you have dumped the RAW files as per the instructions above.
Let me know,

HTC HD2 Builds and Problems

I have just bought a HTC HD2 and have tried 3 different android builds and all seem to have there problems. But the most thing that is bugging me is the sound on all the builds is the same robot sound. I have looked through all the forums and threads and have not found a clear cut solution. I am hoping someone could help me to the best build and how to fix the sound problem while making and receiving calls.

It is a proven fact that the robot voice is related to your windows ROM.

I am assuming you know how to flash a ROM and Radio... if you don't, you might want to read this thread, see post number 2.
Do not rush this, or do anything you do not understand.
I just stick with the ChuckyROM. Probably the best one out there that gives you the least problems for android. I like the way Cruzer ROM looked, but I kept getting the robot voice when using android..
+1 for chukydroid , ZERO problems with this one, set excellsior android autoboot to 3 seconds and you don"t even have time to type your pin code in WM.
you can get it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734238
in the tools "menu" you ll find the "format sdcard" tool, never ha a problem using this one , and the "WM Storage" tool to activate USB sharing so you can copy your android build to the card

This is your problem. You must at least have a custom ROM. Remember to flash compatible ROM tovyour phone, otherwise you will risk bricking your phone.

You don't need a custom rom to run android on your htc hd2. The rom you need is the leaked t-mobile hd2 update. You can get that here...

The radio has been upgraded to 2.14.50.04 and has fixed the robot voice that I ALSO have encountered in the past. Btw im using mattc leo v1.8. Im going on over 1 week without a freeze or mishap.
So flash this stock wwe rom and have android running the way it should.
Have fun!
Everything works great now thanks guys, one problem is the speaker is low on the speakerphone option and pretty much the volume in general is low even when turned all the way up.

No Sound HomeBase just like stock?

Latest HomeBase (BLUR with kernel). When I first got the phone after a few hours you cannot hear or speak. You have to restart the phone in order to make or take a phone call. Assumed using a new rom would fix it considering the Sprint OTA fixed it but I still have the issue. After anywhere between 2 hours and 8 hours of the phone being on is when the problems start.
It was my understanding this was Software related but after trying a few roms with the same problem I don't know? Should I just go back to stock and install the OTA? Roms are cool but being able to talk is better.
I would. Also you should have posted this in the Q&A section or in the homebase rom thread.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
What version of the Home Base rom are you on? I'm on v1.5 with the 4.2 update and have no issues. So perhaps you could try that one? And I had that issue until the OTA update too.

I've recently flashed v1.5 and updated with 4.2. Loved it except that when I tried to download anything in the market it would tell me that there was insufficient space on my device. I had even reformatted my external and internal storage. Then I tried using the marketfix.zip. It would say it was downloading and then disappear from my notifications. I was wondering if you were having this problem at all?
The only time I have had a market issue was when I first flashes the ROM and it was the old market then it dud a little song and dance and ypdated to the new market at which point anything I was downloading prior was gone. But after that haven't had any issues. Is this the issue you are having? If not.....try to reflash the ROM

Official update due soon. Is it worth it?

Ive rooted and have been running custom roms. I guess this question is aimed towards our american friends. Is the update worth it? Or are the custom roms available better and the emergance of cm7?
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Roms are better than the 2.3.4 update from Motorola. The best ROM is cm7. But the best everything working ROM in my opinion is Alien ROM which includes webtop and HDMI.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
We may really tell only when the update is out. I once read that Motorola is delaying Gingerbread for Europe because many modifications are needed. It seems that Atrix and Atrix 4G do really have differences.
I needed to install many tweaks for making Alien #4 perform well on my European, retail Atrix (1bar bug for 3G, A-GPS, a custom kernel, ..).
Moreover, radios out there are not suited for "Euro - retail" Atrix (not 4G) running custom Gingerbread ROMs. I found that the best radios for Italy (I suppose for Europe, too) are still N_01.95.00R (the one that comes with retail Atrix, designed for Froyo) and N_01.100.00R (Orange FR radio). The first performs better in terms of battery life, the second has great connectivity. Substitute N_01.95.00R with the radio that came with your Atrix, in case.
I tried N_01.100.00R but decided to switch back to N_01.95.00R. Currently I am using Cyanogenmod because it is the ROM less built around a specific carrier. I'm quite happy with that.
Probably, the best combination will be to use the radios that Motorola will release for European customers when GB is out here plus Cyanogenmod.
Hope that this helps clarifying.
Thanks. I have seen issues with the custom roms. Mainly lacking in signal when i know i usually have a full signal. How would you flash a radio on atrix...via sbf or is there flashable roms?

you can do it both ways, they exist in SBF form and .zip
there is also a one bar fix that you may want to try, search for it in the dev section
Just a thought: I ended up rooting and installing CM7 within a couple of weeks of buying my Atrix. If you're not bothered about fingerprint scanner and webtop then I think it is a lot better than stock Froyo in terms of performance.
Of course, now Gingerbread is looking like it will be on European phones officially "soon" but think about it: when you've just installed gingerbread with that motoblur overlay, CM9 based on ICS will probably be making its way to devices and aren't you going to be real jealous?!
Come on, you'll probably end up with Cyanogenmod at some point so why not take the plunge now? I honestly believe if you follow the instructions and get everything installed correctly, you won't be disappointed... just happy in the knowledge you'll always be on the path to the next upgrade!

As already posted both possibilities exist. I see from your avatar that you are a Linux user like me. Then beware that, if you will use sbf_flash for flashing sbf, never flash a radio that comes as a CWM file. sbf_flash will never overwrite it then and you will need to use Windows and RSD-Lite.
See more on a previous question posted by me. It started as a question on how to revert back to Froyo after Gingerbread update, but a very helpful user also told me about flashing radios, creating sbf radios/roms and about the sbf_flash bug
I can give or take cm7 yeah its awesome. But still too buggy. And unfortunately i hate the look of stock android. My signal is half what it should be.
So i have restored the original stock rom via cwm. Never realised how good the battery was. Heavy usage involving sat nav. Loads of wifi including facebook, market, xda and a few phone calls. 15 hours off charge and still 70%!!
Im waiting for the ota. Then maybe things may run smoother in regards radios and so on with other roms.

I too am waiting on the official Gingerbread update for my UK Orange Atrix and fingers crossed, should be coming within the next week or two (Mid November has been quoted)
I'm still on Stock 2.2 having only had the Atrix for 1 week but am already feeling the custom Rom pull.
I guess it would be best to play with the official Gingerbread Rom for a week or two (when it comes haha) and if it's lacking then hit the custom's then - that's my plan anyways

I installed it, the sbf for my Atrix was posted three days ago in the Firmwares Superthread. It is amazing.
It comes with N_01.100.00R radio, that perfectly works with this ROM. Great 3G connectivity, great WiFi stability, GPS gets the signal in a bunch of seconds and battery life is great: after 07hrs and 30minutes of light usage (3G on, Gmail + Twitter on and sporadic Internet browsing), the battery level is still between 90% and 80%. Best ROM I've ever used.
so have you installed the OTA gingerbread?
or have you gone custom? i'm still awaiting the official update coming this week???
i've just bought the work and play kit.....so im hoping for 2 things coming this week!!

updating to gingerbread does not make it unrootable it just means you need to use a different method,
you can flash with RSD if you want to try out some other builds though, just do some reading first and figure out how to fix it if you get a soft brick

The Gingerbread OTA will lock the bootloader and probably install the malicious bootloader. We don't have info about the European OTA and the contained bootloader, so we assume that it is the same as the one contained in the USA OTA.
Therefore, I did not wait for the OTA. I indirectly installed the SBF mentioned before (it corresponds to the one I would have gotten with the OTA).
"Indirectly" means that I converted the SBF into moto-fastboot images and the radio into a radio-SBF image.
In this way I have the old, unlocked and not dangerous bootloader plus the new system, webtop and radio. It is safer in this way.

Yes but first unlock the bootloader, then try the UK retail but don't flash the SBF! You should convert it to moto-fastboot images (plus the SBF-radio) and install them. It should work well in France, but try it by yourself

Regarding update to Gingerbread:
Never install the Gingerbread OTA if you want to hack your phone and you don't have experience doing it. The OTA may contain a malicious bootloader that hinders further hacking. Quite sure it contains it. For sure, if you install the GB OTA and flash a Froyo sbf, it will brick the phone. It is still possible to install custom ROMs after the GB OTA, but it is better to manually update your phone instead of doing the OTA.
I am not sure about what happens if you just flash the original Motorola Gingerbread over your official Motorola Froyo. Fur sure it will work but I think that it will install the malicious bootloader
Rooting is always possible, it will never brick your device. Since you're a beginner, give a read to the beginners guide. It also contains rooting/unlocking instructions

Orange Signal Boost on ICS Roms?

Does anybody know of an ICS rom with Orange Signal Boost built into it? Or a way to put Signal Boost onto my ICS flash? I've tried the flashable zip that was somewhere on the forum but it just kept making my phone say that there was no sim card inserted the Signal Boost app wouldn't launch....
Thanks!
In short no!
The Orange signal boost is some how linked to something in the stock orange ROMs so unless Orange release it to work on non Orange roms we wont benefit from SB.
One of the reasons why I have dropped back to stock + siyah 2.6.12
Although there may be a way I spent a good amount of time trying to find an apk & then get it to work.

I downloaded a CWM file, when you flash it it puts the necessary files in place in lets you use it. I've tested that on stock Gingerbread, but it seems that there must be a different method for doing it on ICS. Thanks for your replies anyway guys

Hey guys,
Are there any t-mobile USA WiFi calling files on this device? I ask as I managed to get orange UK WiFi calling on my HTC sensation, however the files I got didn't work. Ended up using the USA files but pushing the orange UK apk instead.
Obviously the sgs2 is a different device so your mileage may vary, but the apk is in a thread I made over in the sensation forums.
I can't say it will work, so make sure you do suitable backups. Good luck

Has anyone yet been able to get this working before Orange release their ICS?
No-one got this working yet?
+1 i would really like to get this working on an ics rom, i tried the other thread too but with my admittedly limited knowledge nothing will work! If anybody has any ideas i am more than willing to try them or help out in any way i can!
There seems to be lots of people looking to get this working, lets see if we can contribute and help out!

Still no progress?
I had Signal Boost working pretty well on my SIM free SGS2 when it was running GB-2.3.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208830&page=15
Now that Orange UK has finally released ICS-4.0.3, can't we just extract the new versions of the 6x files and run those instead of the GB versions?
From what I have read the GB version of Signal Boost isn't compatible with ICS and stops the GS2's from being able to read the SIM card.
Shouldn't it be that easy? Apologies as I am a relative noob.

[Q] Issue with Stock Samsung 4.1.2 ROM (I9100XWLSW)

Hi,
Search everywhere and still stuck!
This is issue that I have bee trying to solve on the 'android-rsap' forum, but am completely stuck, so by posting here I am hoping that someone can shed some light on what is going on.
Link: forum.android-rsap.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=871
In short, the device is a Samsung Galaxy 2 (XEU), and the bluetooth rsap functionality works fine with 4.0.4 (I9100XWLPT) but when I upgrade to 4.1.2 (I9100XWLSW) it no longer works at all. What is most weird is that it seems to be only my handset that is affected, it does not seem to be a universal issue. :roll eyes: What could be specific to my handset that stops this functionality working as it should?
I have been going back to 4.0.4 and upgraded to 4.1.2. many times now, via OTA, Kies and Odin, same result every time, sadly. 4.0.4 works every time, 4.1.2 has never worked with rsap and my car
What could be specific to my handset that stops this functionality working as it should? I have tried root'ing the handset to do more testing and to try the rsap app from Google App Store, but that has the same issue. Could some of the radio software be wrong? or?
Picture shows Kies upgrade screen and the 4.0.4 and 4.1.2 versions I am getting.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Regards,
J.
Try another JB ROM, and stop going back to 4.0.4.

Ok, So I am a beginner with hacking my Samsung phone, this is mainly as I use them as phones, and want to rely on them. Before I had encountered this issue I had not even rooted my phone before.
I would really appreciate some help with this, this is an issue what is well beyond me, as in my view, what I have done ought to have fixed it. If there was a firmware issue, my reload should have but it back to 'factory default' .
As for going back to 4.0.4, well it works, so it must be a baseline for something, it proves the radio and bluetooth stack is capable of doing the right thing.
I think I need some pointer of getting my had set back to completely stock PDA / CSC / PIT, but don't know how to do it, or where to get the parts, to date got the firmwares from SamMobile... Any help would be appreciated.

The firmware specified by Kies (the one in the picture you posted) is your region specific firmware, just search and download the firmware from sammobile and flash it if you want to go back to stock, gastonw was suggesting you to try a different version of jb like xwlss, xwlsn, xwlsw, etc... If it's common to other jb versions then probably Samsung removed proper support for it, it's not the first time they have done it, like for example they completely removed action shot feature in stock camera in jb(this is there in ics).
Edit:If this problem is specific only for your s2, you might have to try flashing different firmware.

Thanks,
I have tried a completely different firmware, and it behaved just the same. The odd thing is that there are no other reports of users having issues with the rsap application on a S2 with JB, so the support is on there (the app provides the stack if it is missing), but the app does not work either so it looks like it is my handset that has issues. I just can't figure out what to do to fix it. There is one thing that could be at play here, I did have a flailed upgrade from GB to ICS (4.0.3) where vibrate stopped working. It was sent to Samsung for repair, not sure what they did but I suspect that the just flashed the phone with a new version of the same firmware. Could there be something there that still causes issues?
Thanks.

Hmm try generating a logcat when you try to use that feature and post it here, let's see whether some useful report is generated , please generate it as quickly as you can after you try activating/using that feature.

HI,
Took a little time to get the phone back in order and then to go an do the trace.
Not knowing what I am really looking for, but it strikes me that the bluetooth stack looks to just be giving up...
Regards,
J.
Hi all,
Well, today I managers to briefly borrow another S2 handset with JB on it. This other handset has the same issues that I have, so this must be something in the packaging of the Bluetooth that Samsung did - but I am guessing here.
Any clues would be appreciated, although I think I am fighting a loosing battle here... (works with an S3, so I should go and upgrade! at least chapter now that there is the S4 - but I like the form factor of the S2 better)
Regards,
J
I can't find anything that can cause a reasonable problem in your logcat, since you tried it out with an other GT-I9100 running JB and reproduced the problem, my guess is as good as yours.

Well, thanks for looking anyway...
My thinking on this is now that as it works with newer cars and only the older ones that now have issues, it must be a version issue, i.e. the version of the bluetooth stack is not the one it should be. It would be interesting to know if there is a difference in the version of the bluetooth stack and the rsap daemon between the S3 (which works on JB) and the S2 (which does not). Would that tell me anything interesting?
Regards,
J.
Your issue is directly related to 4.1.2 (and newer) versions of Android having changes to what's known as a2dp, or Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. Supposedly, these failings with Bluetooth connectivity of our blessed i9100 are fixed in Android 4.2.2, but unfortunately this version has not yet been released for it (and before anyone says otherwise, I dare them to show me where I can get the ridgey didge true blue real deal Jellybean 4.2.2 for the i9100, especially when sammobiles - the number one place for Samsung firmwares - don't have it for any country on the planet)

HI,
I was not aware of this, and are you saying this is specific to the S2, so the fact that is works with an S3 on 4.1.2 is irrelevant?
J.
well, I've been researching this since 4.1.2 came out, and it isn't an issue only experienced here in Australia. Google is a great resource, go for a surf and you'll find out more...

Well, my issues are with specifically with rsap, not really A2DP, but if it affects the whole stack, this could be an issue.
To illustrate: I have 2 cars, one older, one newer. With the newer car all is well, and it works at is should (as far as I know) The older car was working pretty much with out issues on 4.0.4, but refuses to work with 4.1.2. Both cars rely on rsap.
Not sure this helps, just wanted to illustrate the problem that I am trying to solve.
Regards,
J.
Have a look at what people are talking about in a Google discussion group, about this very issue...

Maybe I am overly cautious here, but in my case it works just as it should with an S3, no issues at all, for me it is the S2 with JB that has the issue. And the functionality that does not work does not go near the A2DP libraries as the phone becomes a bluetooth SIM card for the car to access (which is rsap)
There must be others out there that also have this issue?!?

That's why I suggested you look at the forum I provided the link for, there are plenty with the 'Phone calls via Bluetooth into car stereo' issue, including myself...
