Well,
I searched through a lot of threads before breaking down and posting on here. I have not been able to find any posts on the same issue though.
I tried Scott Crosler's WM 6.5 beta build when he first put it up, and it loaded fine. It was not the smoothest, but it would run. But every once in a while, when I would reboot, it would hang on the first startup screen that includes the radio version, etc.. I tried removing the SD card, taking out the battery...Nothing works except the following:
1. Reset with stylus 3-20 times.
2 Reset another 3-20 times...but this time do it really fast.
3. Reset another 3-20 times but now do it slow.
4. Take out the battery.
5. Take out the SD card.
6. Repeat steps 1-5.
7. Scratch head.
8. Search online for similar issue while going through steps 1-7.
9. Face East and try steps 1-7.
9. Face North and try steps 1-7.
10. Try to reason with phone.
11. Try to bribe phone to boot.
12. Somewhere between steps 1-11 it boots finally because it feels like it.
I've left the battery out for a while. I've left the SD card out for a while. Sometimes, it will boot on the first go, just to tease me. When I hard reset, it will work for a little while, then start hanging on boot again.
I tried JD's 6.5 ROM recently, and it does the same thing. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
need more info... what radio are you running, what carrier, is ur phone unlocked, did you install anything addiotional to the rom... whats the name of ur first born.... and so on
Radio Version is 1.03.03V
Carrier is Verizon
Hardware version 0002
PRL 51284
PRI 1.46_002
SPL 0.35.CMONEX
Phone is unlocked. Clean install. First born is Nicholas. Favorite color is Red. Eyes are green. Sign is Libra.
Humm dunno sounds like the rom build is bad good sons name though. iv heard from quite a few people that the early 6.5 roms tend to do random things. like saying their battery is dead when its almost full so it shuts off then when they turn it back on it says the battery is full... i dont know check the rom thread and see if they realeased a update or post a question there for the cooker to debug it
im trying to build a rom for Verizon here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=62815 i could pm u a test rom if u like

Yeah I know, I'm one of your test subjects on there...Looking forward to the next attempt.
I am finding a few others having the same issue, so at least I know it's not just me. It seems like a handful of Verizon users are having the issue. Hoping that others will see this and post their specs, specifically hardware revision. Thanks.
Solved!
Looks like it was an issue with the kitchen everyone was posting. I just downloaded Scott's 1.6 Kitchen last night and added the 21198 6.5 SYS files to it. i boots everytime now without hangs.
I also confirmed with other verizon users who were having the same issue and they are running fine too.
So if you have a verizon touch pro, and want to try 6.5, use Scott's 1.6 kitchen.

can you post were you got the 21198 6.5 sys from ? and did you also have to change the ROM folder?
Happened to my Raphael (non-CDMA) phone today and another 6.5 rom, only way i got it working again is by using this procedure:
1. With your phone on. Pull out your stylus.
2. Hold your Touch Pro upside down.
3. Press and Hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip till message appear.
4. To HARD RESET, Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or else press any other button to cancel.
5. Then just follow all the screen instruction to continue...
- If you're forced and unavoidable to 'Hard Reset' your phone, you can prevent loosing your data by sync them all to your computer before performing this reset.

Hi all,
Running sprint mogul and the latest HTC rom (WM6.1 and SprintTV Update – Version 3.56.651.0).
Followed the instructions here:
http://www.pdamag.com/rom-install-instructions/
When I went to unlock my phone with nueSPL 2.47 following the pdf, in step 5
"5. Press [CONTINUE] to begin the fashing proc-
cess. It will take approximately 10 seconds to
complete, and your phone will reboot automati-
cally. If prompted, press the [POWER] button to
begin updating."
The phone just basically froze and never rebooted after 10 secs (waited 10 minutes). At that point I did a hard reset. I have tried twice without success.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Here are the steps I used.
Thanks for the link!
It ended up being the SD card needs to be fat32 and less then 2GB. Something the link I had didn't mention.
Ended up flashing the DCD 4.12. Amazing the difference in speed and memory usage. Still trying to get more info on what is different.
Your welcome and glad you got it. That links explains a little more detail. If you like m2d try titan reload 1.3.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462827
Just remember the hard part is over. All you need to do now is flash a different rom when u want.
i have a 512mb micro sd that i use ONLY for flashing.. already formatted and nice knowing that I only use it to flash....
also yeah these roms are SOOOOO much better than the oem roms.....
im running the one in my sig as I love M2D (touch flo)....
Yeah so far we are running it on a mogul that we don't have connected but seems massively faster.
Ok so everything on the dcd rom works? One thing I noticed was that the task manager located on the top right is missing. I saw that the titan reloaded has it. I only wish there was a dcd version that had the SBD menu system. I have gotten kinda of use to that now. There home screen is very efficient imo because it shows u the time and calendar in addition to messages etc. Titan reloaded looks cool but I am not a huge fan of how the screen looks with the clock on it.
AFAIK, The NueSPL 2.47 checks for a good SD card before flashing. Maybe not. But I'm glad to hear it's working well for you now . The only thing I suggest is just to search around this forum, and the Development and Hacking forum. Good stuff to look into for utlities, tweaks, and hacks for this device.
Amazing this thing has really made the mogul fast now. Phone carriers are killing phones with there bloat crapware. I remember when I was on verizon I did the same thing flashed to different software.
I was having the same problem with a blank FAT32-formatted 4GB SD card. I had to blow away my music collection on my 2GB card, but I was going to move it to the 4GB anyway.
Thanks for the tip.
Hi,
Sorry to stat a thread on this but can't find anything similar.
I've flashed a lot of ROM's prior. Thought I was fairly comfortable with it.
Currently, I have EnergyROM 6.5 and wanted to try another.
I can establish the connection with phone/computer (1st beep), then the second beep happens (activesync). Then I run the AthenaWrapper and it starts. It restarts the phone. I hear the first beep but never the second. The progress bar stays at 0% and eventually there is a communication error.
This happens with NATF's 6.5 ROM as well as the stock ATT rom.
Any suggestions on fixing this problem?
PS - the 'contacts' button at the bottom of the home screen... are those remapable? I have a mandatory program (Good Messaging) which has its own contacts program. Once I've installed it, the contacts button goes to it instead of the built-in contacts. That's not what I want.

I had no idea what "Athenawrapper" was until I Googled Athena. The good news is I've solved your problem. The bad news is that you have a PEBCAK
error.
"Athena" is an entirely different piece of hardware from a Raphael , so it's RUU WILL NOT WORK with a Raphael. Frankly, I think you're lucky you didn't succeed in bricking the phone completely. You need to use the RaphaelWrapper to flash a Raphael.
On the off chance that you actually have an Athena, and are trying to flash it with a Raphael ROM, then you're still begging to have your hardware bricked. Most ROMs are not compatible outside of the hardware for which they are written.
You need to:
Figure out what hardware you have.
Go to that bulletin board.
Read the sticky threads there to learn how to flash properly.
Get to work.
Hi,
Well your explanation makes sense... however, the stock ATT ROM I downloaded from the raphael ROM development section and have successfully flashed a prior Fuze with before (I had to return it for warranty). It is the same file that worked then, that is not now.
But it is not working now AFTER I tried the NATF ROM which I'm pretty darn sure I directly downloaded from a link in the Raphael section. Perhaps it was a misguided link or something, and then it damaged the phone such that previously working ROM's now won't flash?
Chris
addendum...I know for sure it was the NATF ROM from Raphael section...
it is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539513
If you did a HardSPL to load NATF's ROM, then you cannot flash back to the OEM ROM without first removing HardSPL.
So (and this is the second time in as many days ), here's my recommendation:
Myrddin Wyllt said:
Here's my recommended procedure:
Back up your PIM data, if needed.
Remove HardSPL.
Run your service provider's ROM installation.
Install HardSPL.
Download the NATF ROM (YES...DO IT AGAIN)
Flash the ROM.
Hard reset when you get to the screen alignment.
Yes, I know I'm yelling, but that's because you don't appear to be paying attention.
It would also be helpful if you'd put your device info in your user signature.

Re-downloading the NATF ROM ensures that you don't have a corrupted copy.
Myrddin,
Interesting name, how do you pronounce that?
1) I learned from you today about the HardSPL having to be removed. That I did not know, so thank you.
2) Back on the computer I flash with, I confirmed the wrapper files... first line does say Raphael Wrapper, under that it says Athenawrapper, then under that it says LSD creations.
3) I'll assume since you quoted your previous advice, the yelling and not paying attention comments were not directed at me
4) I'll do what you instruct master!
That's why we like the wise sages of the forum!
chris
It's Welsh, and it's pronounced Merlin, most of the time (Merthin is more accurate, though).
No, the yelling was not exactly directed at you, just at newbies everywhere. Take no offense, I merely wanted to place a great deal of emphasis on certain aspects of the process. It helps us help you.
M
Hi,
Well, somehow I managed to get back to the stock ATT Rom. I'm not sure how to remove HardSPL specifically as searching that topic doesn't bring up any specific threads (at least in the Raphael forum).
I thought since I had got the ATT rom to work, I coul ddo a 6.5 ROM, but I'm running into the same communication error I had before.
Very specifically, everything starts up fine. It causes my phone to restart.
The USB connection noise happens, but then I never get the activesync alert noise, so the download indicator stays at 0% and I get a communication error.
If I just plug my phone into the computer, it starts up activesync just fine.
Any suggestions? And if it is HardSPL, where's the instructions to remove that?
Thanks again,
Chris
Well shoot,
It must be my lucky day.. I did find some instructions for hardspl, did that.. and I think things are about to be working...
Nevermind on the last post for now!

Hey everybody,
My phone is stuck in an infinite restart loop when i tried to revert back to the original rom without replacing the hardspl. Is there anything that can be done for that?

Most often this is the result of a bad flash or a corrupt ROM. Try putting the phone in Bootloader mode (see the wiki for instruction), and download the ROM again (delete your old copy to avoid confusion). Try the flash once more, and don't forget to do a hard reset when you get to the screen calibration the first time.
I have a Sprint HTC touch pro. I unlocked it the day I got it, and have flashed mightyrom6, juicy, and a couple others to it without problem. What I'm seeing now is the ROMs are going very slow, freezing when I just try to read a text message, etc. I have a feeling that some things from the ROMs aren't completely getting wiped when I flash the new ROM. Someone suggested flashing the stock OS to the phone to clear this garbage. Is this a good idea? Does anyone else have this problem, or a solution to it? Thanks
It's definitely worth a try, it worked for me.
I had been trying out all the new 6.5 ROMS out there. At some point it wasn't slow per se, but it would completely freeze, and then I'd have to soft reset. *IF* it got past the loading screen, it would take me to the initial configuration, as though it had been hard reset. I couldn't make it 48 hours without it doing that. Didn't matter which 6.5 ROM I tried, it always did the same thing.
(shameless plug for Sashimi and Makisu! Lifesavers!)
Tried leaving out the microSD card in case it was bad data - no luck.
Tried not configuring anything - just using it as a phone - in case it was a corrupted CAB or something. Not that either.
At the end, I gave up and I was prepared to take it into the Sprint store. (I bought my phone on Ebay, so no idea what kind of success I would have had, if any.) I flashed back to stock rom, installed my cabs and user settings, etc. and waited for it to happen.
It's been over a week now, absolutely no problems.
Long shory stort: flash back to stock ROM and see how it turns out.
Good luck!
weso has a good point...But
Flash back to stock, hard reset.
Flash your ROM of choosing, hard reset
enjoy new Rom
I find after a couple flashes that I need to flash back to stock hard reset then flash new Rom. After that I tend to have a much more enjoyable experience.
Interesting. I wonder if there's any way to explain that, or if we have to put that in the X-files folder - just one of those things.
I also ALWAYS go into the bootloader manually by rebooting with the reset button and holding power and vol-down. Not sure if it makes a difference or just makes me feel better, but I've had zero issues doing it that way, so that's what I keep doing.
Mightyrom6
Hey out there! Can anyone help with this problem I am having. With the MightyRom 6 on the Touch Pro for Sprint? When Touch Flo is enable and you slide the tab to settings and tap All Settings on the bottom left it will go to Connections Only! It will not go to the All Settings screen. Can anyone help me? I know how to edit the registry but, can't find anything out there. Please Help!
Many believe this happens due to not "flash dancing" (flash then hardreset).
Be wary of doing this with generic stock roms, ive had an experiance in which my prl and qcn files were reset to the generic stock ones of a diffrent provider, which in turn got me to take the phone in and get it carrer flashed again ( NO CARRIER SPECFIC ROMS OR STOCK FOR TBAYTEL!!! . god bless tbay tell lol, but anyways after the initial flash of a rom you like, before you load it with cabs install one at a time to ensure proper installation and compatability with your current rom. Also before you run any freshly installed apps/cabs be sure to soft reset after install.
My method of flashing
Ensure battery is above 80%
Fully synced and connected
Freshly rebooted computer and phone
Update/Flash phone
Hardreset after customize and initial setup
Re-configure customise/etc
soft reset
Good to GO!
Also with every flash there is the posability of it just being a bad flash.
in some cases the freezing and such may be pagepool/Driver issue's with your hardware
Hi All,
I flashed my HTC Fuze with the below ROM
Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen v4 for Touch Pro and my mobile is dead now. I missed to unlock the phone before running this update (although very clearly mentioned in the instructions )
Since the mobile is not booting I am not able to flash it with any other ROM or revert back what I did. Computer does not recognize the mobile through ActiveSync. I tried resetting the mobile (Power button + volume down button + OK button), it even says restoring to factory settings, but after restart still hangs at the AT&T screen.
Can anyone please help me out here or I need to take my phone to AT&T service, but that would be the last thing to do as I think the warranty is void with this tampering.
Well, I'm pretty sure that Calkulin cooks for the Herman (aka cdma touch pro). This is your problem (and maybe not your only one).
Flash a stock rom off your sd card.
Edit: Wow, that link takes you to the cdma Diamond forum at ppcgeeks. What were you thinking?
Thanks a lot Ted...!
Thanks a lot Ted. You are my "knight in shining armor". Atleast I have some hope, I think
You just said "Flash a stock rom off your sd card.". Can you please let me know or direct me to a post that tells how to flash rom off the sd card? I am however searching for the best fit for my set.
Also, I think i need to search for an appropriate ROM for my fuze this time.
Thanks again.
Um yeah...you might've just bricked your phone. Your best bet is trying to reflash your phone with an OEM ROM via a MicroSD card, then going to one of the cooked GSM roms on this forum.
Look at the stickied threads in this forum for the procedure and links to an ATT rom.
If that doesn't work, you could try going to an ATT store and playing dumb...there's a small chance they'll replace it under warranty if it hasn't expired yet. If all else fails...you might be able to score a fuze from ebay on the cheap...I'm sure there's a lot of people upgrading to touch pro 2.
Thanks for your reply.
streetlight22 and Ted, Thanks for your reply. I will try this today. Keeping my fingers crossed . If this works, I would be happier than ever (not because I could save some bucks.. but because I love my fuze and can't see it dying).
Every where the step says "renaming the ROM nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh or something like that. I am wondering if I also need to rename the .nbh file to something before running the update.
The rom image will be named ruu_signed.nbh (if it's a custom rom) or something longer if it's a stock rom. You should try a stock ATT rom image. Just rename it, stick it on the root of your sd card (must be FAT32), and see if you can go into bootloader. If you can't get into bootloader, you're screwed. Remember to hold volume down for several seconds after soft resetting. Press it down before soft resetting. If the tri-color screen doesn't appear, you're in trouble. It should appear briefly, then go grey with a message like 'loading image,' then it will tell you to push power. But if you flashed a diamond cdma rom, you may have totally screwed things up. Most people seem to recover from cdma touch pro roms, but if it's from a different device, you may be screwed.
Hi, if the tri colour screen appears you can try flashing trough your PC, it should find new hardware (htc hot sync or similar), then there should be USB written in the lowest part, then you can flash watever you want from the PC in the manner you are used to.
It worked.. it worked.. my fuze is now up and running WM 6.1. Thanks to all...! Special thanks to Ted for his quick reply and the tip "Remember to hold volume down for several seconds after soft resetting. Press it down before soft resetting". This is what I was not trying inorder to connect fuze with my laptop. My set is back to normal, up and running cool...
Once again thanks to everybody. xda-developers is really really a life saver . Great job guys, keep going...keep helping newbies like us.... we really need u
I've been searching on how to completely restore my (T-Mobile) HD2 on this forum for a while and haven't came to it, so sorry if I'm repeating any threads.
Basically I'm fairly novice in flashing and things in that nature. I've been flashing updating Energy ROMs on my HD2 for about six months since I got the phone. Which was fairly simple to do. Since WP7 ROMs, I've switched over to flashing those. The problem is that 99%, it'll flash fine, then won't get past the boot screen. And on the rare occasion it does get past it, I can't turn it off, or else I'll have to trying getting past the screen 1000 more times to be successful. I think I have all the requirements to run WP7, but not exactly sure.
So I would like to know what to download and flash/ install for it to be as if I bought this from T-Mobile today.
Thanks!
I need help with this too..I craked my screen and am going to send it to t-Mobile so they can send me a new one, but I want to put it to factory reset. Ive looked all over cant find them...the post a couple up...links are dead
you do realize that if you cracked your screen your warranty is already void. it doesn't matter what software you are running at this point.

Sorry for MY late reply, but I put this phone away for a while and now my dad wants to use it. I've gone though the steps, but I can't get past "6. Hold the volume down key and power on your phone. As soon as the coloured screen changes to grey, RELEASE volume down." It never turns grey. I'm one step from taking this phone and throwing it out my window to see it shatter.

I have done a dozen of flashings on my Tmobile HD2 and works fine so far. Thanks to XDA forum all the tools I need are available right here on XDA !!! You just to search them out yourself (sorry I don't have the links ....... ).
I suppose you know how to flash your phone so I will not explain details how to do it.
In brief, to install WP7 this is what I suggest you should do -
1. Update flash radio to the latest available update from Tmobile US website, regardless of what ROM you have at present (version 2.15.50.14 is the latest, I think).
2. Flash HSPL 2.08 to your phone to maximize 576 RAM usage, if you have it (do not use SPL 2.08.000 as this will recognize only 448 RAM size).
2. Use Task29 to clean out the existing the existing ROM on your phone (this will erase your OS and you will only be booting on the white HTC logo screen). This will clear out those ROM leftovers on your phone.
3. Flash magdlr 1.12 or 1.13 on your phone (press power button on boot to show magdlr menu).
4. On magdlr menu scroll down to no.5 USB flasher, connect your phone to pc and run dwi.exe on your WP7 installer and wait till installation has completed.
I have done these procedures a dozen times already I have not encountered problems so far. I have been flashing and flashing to choose the best ROM (WP7 or WM6.5.x) I want. On personal note, I think I would settle for WM6.5.x cooked ROMs because of usability and handiness (I find WP7 too complicated to deal in terms of tweaks and handling of personal videos/photos file security).
Some notes:
a. You need to flash radio and HSPL only once.
b. Use Task29 every time you need to install a new ROM (your choice, but recommended).
c. After Task29 you can start out clean and flash to stock ROM or any other rom you choose.
d. There are dozens of videos on YouTube to help you flash but I have not seen one using Task29 to start the process of flashing.
This works for me, hope it does to you as well. Good luck !!!
