just got a new T-Mobile Germany branded Touch Dual device after the display of my old one was damaged.
Now the problem is that I can't flash any ROM to it (the old one worked perfectly after HardSPL).
Phone data on boot:
Niki 200
SPL 1.22.0000
CPLD 4
Radio 1.65.28.25
I tried follwoing steps:
1. SSPL > Stuck in bootloader (Loading..., no USB colored screen)
2. HardSPL 1.15/1.16/1.22 > 0% and Update Error (communications error)
3. USPL > same as HardSPL
Just for testing:
1. Latest HTC firmware WM6.1 > Wrong vendor ID
2. All other ROMs > 0% and Update Error
3. Latest T-Mobile firmware > Ok, flashes
I'm running Vista 32 SP1 and also tried on XP 32 SP2 (admin). I used the same cable as with the damaged Niki before, same tools, etc.
Anyone an idea how to flash this device?
Try to remove SIM and SD card
You made my day! The old one worked with sd-card connected
Have had the same problem, most times it works with cards inside, sometimes not
Never had to remove it (also sim) with my old Niki. After HardSPL flashing works with sd and sim inserted.
Maybe useful for others to know:
If SD-Card won't be recognised after flashing, just insert it into a card-reader on pc and the card will be reintialised automatically. After that the card will be recognised again!

I'm an absolute newbie here and have been using a Dopod 818pro for a while now with WM5 preinstalled onto it. While browing this site I came across a few WM6 roms that I tried to upgrade my phone with after trying the HardSPL method mentioned in the forums.
I've now landed myself into a predicament. My phone is now stuck to the 3 colored screen. Red, Green, Blue with IPL 2.15.0001 and SPL 2.15.0001. If I connect it to my laptop via USB cable, it says USB in the bottom left corner of the phone otherwise nothing else.
What I did:
-Had been using WM5.
-Downloaded "Update_Package.zip" and unzipped it.
-Connected my device to the computer.
-Backed up all data using Activsync 4.1
-Ran HardSPL.bat from HardSPL G4 folder
-The computer said it has been a success.
-Downloaded this WM6 Rom - "[wm6]Prophet ShadoW 1.0 Touch Edition"
-Flashed the nk.nbf file using ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe
-Said successfully done that.
-Ever since I am not able to do anything with my phone, its stuck at the 3 color page with the above mentioned IPL & SPL.
I am not able to connect it to Activsync, If i try HardSPL.bat again, it says no device connected. I also downloaded "[wm6]Prophet ShadoW 1.0 Clean Edition" and tried to flash the nk.nbk file using G4, but got the same 3-color screen after 100% copying...
Please help me upgrade it to WM6 or restore it to WM5.

1. go upgrade your activesync (4.5 probably),
2. go to this thread >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353547,
3. follow the recovery method....
a. download NVID,
b. force Prophet to Bootloader MAUNALLY (VERY IMPORTANT, see how to in that thread),
c. Connect to PC,
d. flash NVID to WM5 ( splash screen will be changed),
e. active sync connected,
f. use the tool in the thread and flash with ease....
just for your reference .. hope it helps..
SD card not detected
Thanks a ton dioxda2 for your prompt response, I was (with your assistance) able to flash my Dopod 818 pro and started using PV_4.0.0.0.6_Touch ROM.
After using it for a few days, I got into a problem:
-Was using the PIMBackup utility from the phone itself and was trying to backup my SMS'es to a folder in the storage card.
-Upon finishing the backup, I went to the folder in the storage card to see the file.
-The folder was completely empty, I lost the data that I had in that folder as well.
-I switched off my phone and restarted it again hoping that it'll come back, but now this time, my phone did not detect the storage card at all.
-Since that day, I have been following threads on the same issue and using the solutions provided, but unable to get my phone to detect the storage card.
-I tried to use another SD card but even that one is not detected.
-I formatted my SD card and tried, but no detection.(after backing up data)
-I tried to change ROM and flashed back to "RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID" but still not able to see storage card.
-I tried to delete the omap850 and sdbus dll files but unable to delete them even with the Resco Explorer (error- files in use, cant delete them)
-I tried flashing to other roms and soft resetted as soon as it started to install cab files after the PIN code request, but still no progress.
-Changed the registry key "disablepowermanagement" to 1, but still no detection of storage card.
One thing I notice is:
-Phone ON, If I switch off the backlight by pressing the power button for a second, and then insert the SD card, the backlight automatically comes on. Which means that my phone detects that movememt.

Try a different ROM.
Also, check if there is any dust in the SD card slot.

I tried a different ROM, but the problem still persists. Also tried clearing the SD card slot of dust by blowing into it a few times. Unfortunately, the phone still has the same problem. It reacts when I insert the card into it as the backlight comes on, but cannot see the storage card option in the drop down menu in file explorer.
From the Memory option in settings, it says memory card - not installed. Any other suggestions?

Thanks guys for trying to help me out on this issue. The memory card starting working fine one fine day after I blew into the memory card module a few times. I didnt face this issue again. It must've been dust.

i have a hermes 200 with "no gsm".
i try to apply a rom with the sd-card method.
after the bootloader appears "loading" and after "checked" but nevers the screen to apply the rom.
an idéa ? not the good rom ?

I've tried every kind of Unlock software,upgrade ROM and method found in xda..In mtty bootloader (spl 1.04) respond at every command but not "info 2","info 3" .Sd card with any ROM,in the screen "loading..." and then "checking..." no CID on my phone ?
If you have "NO GSM" on your phone it means your radio rom has been corrupted. You should try to re-install the Shipped stock rom. If it doesn't work there isn't much more to do to fix your device. Flash it with an OS only rom and you can use as a PDA but it won't work as a phone again...
ok, no possibility to repear CID with a microsd-card method ?
tu use a mtty command for -6- is possible ?

1. Unrar RUU_HERM_Unlock_v3a.exe
2. Unrar RUU_Inside.exe
3. Empty (erase the contents) of your microSD card from the Windows Mobile file explorer
or format it from your computer using a card reader (in some cases format doesn't work).
4. Rename HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh to HERMIMG.nbh and copy it to the FAT32 formatted microSD card.
5. Insert microSD card on your phone
6. Transfer SSPL/SSPL-HERM.exe to your phone and run it
7. Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button.
You are not trying to repair the CID - Carrier ID. You are trying to reflash the Radio ROM... Installing the SHIPPED ROM may do this or may not.
Pof's Unlock_v3a WON'T fix the radio rom, in fact if you can actually downgrade the Radio rom with this app then good for you. It first downgrades the radio rom to 1.16.xx.xx and changes the SPL to 1.10.
I REALLY don't think you're going to be able to do this as the Radio ROM needs to be reflashed and yours is corrupted..... You can try though....

I have a Hermes here (MDA version from Tmobile UK)
We know the customer has quite literally "fingered" the unit in all ways possible
At the time, he "claimed" to be a windows mobile developer who invented WM5 - dare I say more?
OK so the Hermes is doing the following:
Stuck on Bootloader screen
Herm300
IPL-1.04
Herm300
SPL-2.03
When I do a hard reset via the two soft keys and reset button, the phone boots up with the t-mobile splash with Test Only Not For Sale
Carries on booting, goes through the whole setting up procedure
Then on the reboot, it goes back to bootloader
Now Once I managed to reset and it simply booted in with me using the phone perfectly
The second time I reset, the phone went into a white screen but you could tell it was booting up.
I'm now back in bootloader which refuses to go any further.
Tried running Hard-SPL on it but it can't seem to detect the unit despite it going from Serial to USB
Appreciate any help
On PC (if u use XP), untick "Allow USB Connections" in activesync settings. Put Hermes into bootloader and connect to pc.
Install Hard SPL. Hermes WILL be detected by the Installation program.
Then try installing a new OS, now you should have Hard SPL I'd use the sd card method.
1. Format 2Gb or less sd card FAT32.
2. Copy .nbh file of the rom you want to it and rename to hermimg.nbh.
3 Insert into Hermes and reset to bootloader, follow the instructions....
Should install a new OS and get rid of that "testing only" message.

My device 's Softbank X01HT, I reflash original ROM (Japanese language)
I have flashed my x7500 before using the Athena_WM6_TMUK_2.35.110.4 rom and that worked. Bootloader said spl v1.0 so I tried the authenaunlocker which said it worked and from then the bootloader said spl 1.2 olipro
I then thought I could update to AGB v3.0 , it seemed like it worked but when it rebooted, it shows some mad pixels like a corrupt image and then seems to boot but with a black screen. I can hear it do the ping it does when it asks to calibrate the screen but it is entirely black :-(
I have tried an sd card method of loading a new rom but it always fails after a few seconds with red numbers 68002 and then goes back to the tri color boot loader.
I tried ultravanilla rom renamed to ATHEIMG.nbh in the sd card (formatted to fat32) and that does the same thing with the red numbers.
have I completely bricked it?
I should say that I'm on Windows 7 and I've tried the MAC change fix but the mtty app doesn't give me a usb port to select, just com1 and com2
I tried the windows exectuable for updating the rom but it always fails with error 244 invalid model id.

[edit] hurray! the mtty thing worked after I found an old laptop that had xp on it to use, as soon as I had that I downloaded activesync , unchecked allow usb connections and fired up mtty, that had an entry for usb and then I just followed the instructions and was able to change the id, after that, I was able to use the windows exe rom update. I'm now back to where I'm started and have donated to cmonex!

If you can enter the bootloader (tricolor screen) it should be possible to reactivate your Ameo. I have flashed my Ameo with wrong SPL ROM too (because it was labled as SPL 1.2 but is SPL 3.5).
If you don't have a WinXP system on your hand, try to flash with SD-card. You need a FAT32 MiniSD card (not SDHC!) or FAT32 MicroSD with MiniSD adaptor.
Format the card and copy the ROM file (for the right SPL!) to it, rename the file from RUU_Signed.nbh to ATHEIMG.nbh. Then go to the bootloader and the Ameo should be ready to flash the new ROM.
If you have a WinXP system you can try to enter the bootloader (remove the MiniSD card before) and then connect your USB cable. The bootloader should change from "Serial" to "USB" and should be ready to flash a new rom.
If your Ameo is fractious you can find some good tutorials here.

the most important thing is to keep your cool, I've been in trouble before and managed to sucsses, first of all if you are able to go into bootloader you're fine, it seems to mi you flashed wrong spl, the AGB v3.00 is for spl 3.5 only and for what I understand you have spl 1.2, also i my experience you should work with win xp, i have my laptop with 2 os xp and 7, just to do rom loading on my 3 advantages, so if you are able to put your athena in bootloader plug it to your pc your athena sould change from serial to usb, if you can manage that you are almost done, now all you have to do is flash a compatible rom spl 1.2, if you still want agb v.3 you need spl 3.5 and the only way to achive that is to flash athena projet 4 rom, only when that is acomplished you would be able to load an spl 3.5 rom. I hope this help, keep us posted.
hi i have a pc on windows xp sp3 with htc 4.5 it does not pick up my phone bit it will try to load the windows 6 advantage rom,but after it reaches 2 percent ,the phone resets.i have done the same thing as above,i tried to flach a michy 3.5 rom over windows 6 on 1.25,i can get into bootloader but everytime i flash my phone resets.my mini drive is formatted,so could the problem be with the onboard sd card? if so in plain english could someone take me thru it step by step on hpw to access and format that,to see if it makes a difference,many thanks,and a nice contribution to anyone who can help me,and please if you start talking about hot keys,please state which ones,as every key is a hotkey many thanks curzie,if anyone ever needs pc or laptop advice pm me thanks

hi, I'm in the same situation and sorry for my English, I have a X7500 I unlocked the radio, and then I installed the 3.0 rom agb all went well, but on the first reboot the system does not start, black screen, if I press the volume button turns on but displays the volume and the touch does not work, I can not make it go into bootloader because it turns on and remains on the flag!

first tried the (official) 3.14 rom error 260 no matter what...
from the direct(back side) usb port got to install 2.08.hspl and then 2.08.0000
i haven't seen that hspl4 was out, anyway it brings connection error all the time
Am i doing something wrong or i must do it from sd card or i want be able to install 3.14???(artemis v58)
trying for more than 6 hours now and it's almost 5:30 in the morning so i need some sleep...be back in a few hours
Sorry to hear you are having trouble flashing HSPL to your HD2. Clkick on my guide I have in my sig it has full instructions and link to all the software you need to flash HSPL. Best of luck.

Can't get nothing than 2.08.hspl or 0000.
Found some drivers somewhere in here for the htc usb sync.
Started the official 3.14 and got on the phone 0% but no more, error 262,
tried again few times but nothing. Also tried with custom ruu to update the radio
but same error there too.
Got the 2gb microsd and empty it (fat 32)and extracted from 3.14 the nbh and renamed it put it inside the card boot the tri color screen and got nothing.
Any suggestions...i got the 2.08 hspl on.
EDIT: win 7 closed antivirus, firewall and the web
Can't run Artemis (or any other 3.14 rom) on any spl except 3.03.hspl, so you need hspl4.
Any spl ending. 0000 will NOT allow flashing, since. 0000 is stock spl.
All the usual USB issue tips apply, ,, don't use front mounted USB ports (even if sync and flashing work from a front mounted port, doesn't mean hspl will work) , don't use USB hubs, update wmdc before you start, put phone into bootloader manually and then run hspl, try all your USB ports, try a different PC if available, (man if I had a pound for every time I've typed those out,,,)
When you put the nbh on the SD card, you did rename it leoimg, right? Didn't leave it called ruu_signed did you? If not, then you aren't reading the instructions properly, slow down, read everything fully again.

I put the (official) 3.14 nbh as leoimg into the 2gb card that came with the phone that's
why it didn't work.
After i read again i saw that the 2gb card that came with the phone won't work.
Then i put my 8gd card it worked fine and flashed correctly.
