[Intro]
The result of a bored uni student on holidays, mConvert is a Windows Mobile unit converter.
And now, Version 2 of that slick, finger friendly converter is out. After much feedback suggesting more categories would be good, I have added 10 categories, meaning you can now convert in the following categories:
Area
Length
Power
Temperature
Velocity
Computers
Force
Frequency
Volume
Weight
Acceleration
Cooking
Energy
Pressure
Torque
This is now a powerful converter app, able to rival many of the other converters on the market. And best of all? It's still FREE!! But as before, donations are kindly accepted (on FreewarePocketPC site).
I have tried to make the UI as attractive as possible, as this makes or breaks an app in my opinion. Hope you like it.
I decided to make the app free as nobody likes paying for this stuff, including myself. The aim of mConvert was not only to make an effective converter for mobiles, but to also showcase the potential Windows Mobile has.

Hi, thanks for sharing this app....and welcome to the forums..
I have just downloaded and tried it out and I must say its the best looking converter I've seen and really easy to use too, works great on my HD2
Thanks again!
No worries mate, thanks for the great feedback!
Hope you enjoy it!
I agree. Simple and easy to use.
Just wondering if you could add weight conversions???

thex,
Thanks for downloading! The reason there are only five unit categories is basically because my coding skills are very limited at the moment. If I was to make a sixth category, it would disappear off the bottom of the screen, as the app does not allow the user to move the screen around, if that makes any sense.
If I can work it out, or someone can reference a site where it explains it, I might include it.
looks great, i hope you can make a VGA version soon, like it was said, this seems to be the best looking converter to date

Hello,
Please ... Can you do this program for VGA? ... Thank you.
Sincerely,
FreewarepocketPC Direct Link
Thankz for this app!
Hi Paul,
If you thinking of adding additional categories, rather than putting them on the same page and having to scroll down, you could always make a new page and add page number links to the top of each (if that makes sense).
it's just a suggestion, but thanks again for the app!
Hoping to make a VGA version when uni slows down, pretty insane at the moment.

Great idea l3mm!
When uni slows down I'll look into that - I'll see if i can add some more categories, and I'll try and make a VGA version - seems to be a popular request.

welcome, u did the work, I just copy/paste
Gets me to think of uconvert .. pretty close
Would it be an idea if the predefined converting options would be read from an XML file?
This way others can add to this list.
Very nice looking app!
Btw just wandering which language do you use to program this on?

I did this is VB.NET - basically what I learnt at uni but adapted for mobile.
Images were done in GIMP
Hi there mate, welcome to the programmers world ... Here is a little tip to add more calculations without losing to much space:
Remove the = button, calculate on the fly. Saves you some space, and saves the user a click.
Add a dropdown with categories: Weight, Distance, Speed, etc....
Add a second dropdown which is filled with the items from the selected category: Inch/feet, Inch/cm etc
I didn't do much VB.net/C# lately, but with a little research it wouldn't be to hard to do, keep motivated!
Thanks a lot!!
very useful app.
Great program! But do you think you could add "sq.ft. > acres" and "acres > sq.ft." in the area conversions? I work in a landscaping company and those are my 2 most used calculations.
how can I get this picture to fit the transformer prime screen.
like can someone do it for me and reload it. plz
1200x800 is this the size. can someone point me to a website that resizes pictures. I don't know if it's the image it'self or what......also picspeed app doesn't work. it cuts off the edges......wish someone would just do this so I could go on with life.

I've known of this launcher as well as L7 and SS Launcher but I haven't seen any tutorials for L8. Do we have any experienced users of this application who could be so kind as to write a detailed tutorial with pictures so others can keep the unrelated BS questions out of the main general discussion thread

This launcher (launcher8) is quite basic and simple to use. Unfortunately I don't have the time to create a tutorial. But if you want to know anything, you can always send me a PM.

With the simplicity set aside, I was wondering if there was a website dedicated to all tiles?

Search on Google "Windows 8 tiles deviantart." I've got lots of tiles from that site. I don't exactly remember the link.

On the screenshot, there's a tile that scrolls but I'd like to change that scrolling feature and use something different? How do I change it?

Looks like a great program.
I agree with OP. I'm looking for the same thing. Googling for info led me not many places but here.
A five minute video walking through a typical screen setup would be wonderful.
Or a post with one or two or ten pointers that everyone should know starting out with the launcher would also be great.
Whoever takes the time to do this will surely be met with extrinsic rewards in the form of many scincere thank-you votes, as well as intrinsic sense of accomplishment for a valuable contribution to our community.
A few of my 1000 questions:
1 - the picture thingy... is there a way to resize it so it displays the entire picture rather than scrolling portions of it?
2 - how do I add new screens on the side rather than building one long vertical screen?
3 - when I try to assign an application to a tile, they are not in alphabetical order.... can it be changed to alphabetical like the "App Drawer" on the right hand screen?
4 - How to change the size of my time panel. When I edit it, there is no option to change the size like on other panels.
I'll give one tip:
You can set the borders between tiles to zero for a very cool look, and more room for photos/icons.
Go to Settings/Themes/Tile Paddings -> 0pixels.
(I read that in the other thread and love the results)
Can you provide me a link to this launcher??

Hey guys
I'm looking for a basic image editor that can do at the very least the same things like mspaint can for images (crop/fill/insert text) etc. A huge plus would be being able to use the pen, more functionality is also a plus. Just wanted to use it for basic work stuff like editing/annotating screenshots etc.
Any ideas?

Doesn't it already have a utility in the air-command menu to allow you to take a screenshot and draw all over it?
Yep, mine sure does. Maybe it's not a powerhouse app, but it seems to have a lot of the same tools in MSpaint (far as I can tell anyway, after they changed to the ribbon interface, which I am no fan of)

Can't sketchbook pro do all of that and more? and it comes on the Note 2014
Try Picsay Pro. I use that more than p.s. touch and scetchbook.
Sent from my freekin huge Note 10.1 ?
I think that Pixlre is a good choice.
'ArtRage' from Galaxy Note 4
Have you tried the "ArtRage for Android" app ??
This is still NOT available in the Google Play Store, but can be obtained from the Samsung GALAXY Apps Store.
It is pretty much similar to the "Autodesk SketchBook" & "Clover Paint" (this needs the additonal in-app purchase of Extension for Tablet (EfT) for full use with the S-Pen.

Hi,
I'm one of those Samsung Galaxy Note one users, who can't use Themer app, because they're not support galaxy note resolution. :crying:
So I just want to ask. Is there any solution for this? Maybe I can somehow change my screen resolution or something like that? Because I really love this app and I want to use it.
Thanks for your answers.
looking forward for options on this..
The only way to do that is that other users with supported resolutions can export themes and share them. Then go to My themes>exported and apply the theme. The only problem is that you have to resize the wallpapers for your resolution using Photoshop or an image editor.
OK ! then this way it is going to happen i was not aware with the the process so thanks for throwing the light on the issue .. i am all set to try this

It's sounds like a good idea, but this don't work. When I trying to set theme, it don't display, it shows me original theme what I have when i downloaded Themer app.
I asked Themer app support, they sayed, that every theme created is made specifically to the screen resolution of every device they support. :crying:
So, has anybody knows other solution?
yes
