Hi everybody, I recently got an Htc touch pro, and I really wanna flash a windows mobile 6.5 rom, but I dunno which one would be better than another ! ^^
I'd like to have the titanium panel and TF, but I guess TF could be installed after.
I got another question, I see TF , TF 2, even TF rhodium !?
In what are they different ?

Roms are all about preference...flash one...if u like it keep it...if not try another until you find one. Read comments.
Touchflo 3d = originally came on our phones(lame landscape support)
Touchflo 3d2 = Touchflo Rhodium = New TF3D2 from the touchpro2, has awesome landscape support.
There's a flashing your first ROM thread and a "Don't Start A New Thread - Raphael Questions & Answers Here!"
Try asking there or just searching and reading like everyone else.

Just Tap on start then settings the go to system tab and select about

If you haven't already bought it:
Do not go for it if you will use it for messaging, touch screen only input isn't the best idea when you want to use it for meesaging. Go for a device which has a keyboard (even a Alpah-Num keyboard is better than none). Whenever I have to send even a small sms, it freaks me out. However, if thats not the case, its the best value for money PDA around.

Buddy, is this the case even when you have ezinput keyboard?? I dont feel the need for a keyboard much with it. But ya, the original SIP is not very finger friendly. And the problem that i feel with keyboard based devices is that they often have small or non-standard screens (i mean they are standard, but software create problem with screens like wqvga etc). SO i would not like to go for it.Anyways, its a matter of personal choice though.

Vox has a QVGA screen, so no issues there, and size is also good enough 2.4" (though not as big as Gene ). Since that guy is just buying his Gene, so I don't think he will be in a rush to flash it (Like me, I flashed it the very next day ), and thus void his warranty. So ...
Actually I just loved the full QWERTY keyboard of Vox, may be because it was my first.

Back from a vacation, and nice to see lots of excitements here. Sumit & Ankit, keept it up guys!
I do own both Vox and Gene. But I am far more comfortable with touch screen input. Reason being, the qwerty keyboard in Vox needed both hands to operate it, which is difficult, especially when you are travelling in a crowded train or bus. I found, Gene far better in this case, as I could easily operate all the keys with one hand. But, as Sumit suggested you should go for a better keypad than the default one. Touch Pal is my favorite keypad, which allows me to access all keys smoothly without any hassles...

Go to your carrier's website and see if they have it. If they don't (which I believe that to be the case), then you have to go with someone's cooked rom.
no upgrade
There is currently no official stock upgrade to wm 6.5 for the alltel touch pro and i don't believe that there is going to be one now that we are verizon. with the touch pro 2 out they will be concentrating on that instead of the original touch pro.

So I have had my HD2 a few months now and I've been happy with the stock look and feel.
Now I would like to start trying a few of the xda add ons and roms.....
However I do not wish to blindly jump...I figured I would ask the pros here.
So I would like to move up to the newer windows 6.5.x ( not sure what version were at), with the task bar at the bottom.
So I am on the Rogers Network ( Ontario Canada), with an Unlocked HD2.
I bought it on line but was unaware at the time I got wrong unit for here, as I only have edge...no 3g ( Unit from Hong Kong via Vancouver and ACEGSM).
No worries though, as I do not need 3G as I do so little on line on phone...Weather, a little FB, Yahoo mail, MSN Mail....so Edge works awesome for me.
So if I am to flash say mainly a stock look and feel to start, where should I start?

hey man, instead of flashing a new rom why not try cht first. its an easy .cab install and truely is awesome. after you installed that, you can then go on to mod your phone with new clocks, skins....well just about anything really. cht offers a quality starting block to build upon. just a thought bud........

So I still nned to find out, is there an HTC rom upgrade to move me up to Windows 6.5.3 ??? (or what ever the latest version is )
Or is that only by using a rom from XDA?
The reason I ask is it would be nice for me to have the buttons along the bottom of the screen, rather then the 2 screen buttons and the start at the top.....my thumb is rather stubby, so getting to start is a 2 hand job
There arent any official 6.5.x roms with the bottom start button, you'd have to HSPL your device and use a cooked rom for XDA.
Check the stickies in the rom development section for all the info you need on this.
Im not gonna make an assumption as to which model of HD2 you have, if it is the american model (green and red hardkeys / big fat double chin) then you need to be aware of the radio your flashing....
Seeing as you got it from HK then its probably not that one, better safe than sorry though....
As long as you read up on the subject first and make sure your reading the correct information for your device you cant really go wrong.
95% of the "bricked" phone horror stories you see on here are down to people not doing their homework first....
You mention that you'd prefer a close to stock feel for a custom rom so probably either an "artemis" or one of dutty's roms would be your best choice....
To be honest though if your happy with the performance your getting from your stock rom then it might not be worth the switch unless you really really want the 6.5.x look.....
+1 on the CHT suggestion too.
A must have (in my humble opinion) for any HD2....

I will try CHT first before a flash, then when I have read, reread, understand the steps required I will try the roms named.
I have to say XDA is an awesome place to learn....it was a godsend giving my SMT 5600 (Typhoon) new life. As my friend who now uses my old phone will tell you.
Now I will be able to keep my HD2 feeling fresh and fun, thanks to XDA and it's awesome people

Well am using a HTC Touch P3452 (elf 100) phone, it is a WM 6.x
I have the .Net frame work 3.5 installed in it.
I need some help, as I like to install new kinds of s/w every day and test them.
First I think my Touch Flo or the so called Manila is a 2D can I install a 3D version if YES, link please, if NO, reason please.
Second Can I upgrade this WM 6.x to WM 7 if YES, link please, if NO, reason please.
Third Can I install HTC Cube which version if YES, link please, if NO, reason please.
Fourth I found a s/w xend-red-touchflo can this work in my phone, if YES, link please, if NO, reason please.
Fifth I had some problem with XDA-Wifi-Sharing s/w, I have posted the problem in a related thread, please help by reading my problem and giving me a solution.
I would also be highly obliged if all can send me a mail rather than just replying here so that I can expedite the process with the solutions.

1 . Manila 3d is the 2.5 version or higher, our machines don´t have the requeriments to run it, i think the minime resolution is vga, ours is qvga .
2. WP7 need minimum 1ghz processor, we have 208 mhz. Elf only can upgrade up to wm 6.5.5, but if you want, can install some interface with skins like wp7 with this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649362, we use qvga version. there is other skins but for me this is the better.
If you want upgrade your device read this thread, this is the rom i use Onyx 6 rc14 with wm 6.5.5, really is faster than original rom. i recomend it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426540
