in fact it is a WM6.5 CE 28004 SYS XIP for smartphone,i ‘don't know if it can be switched to english ,you can have a try ,it doesn't change too much in my startrek ,but i like it very much with its high speed ,here is the WM6.5 CE OS 5.2.28004.28004 SYS XIP (not a rom),

it has 25-26 mb of available storage on my startrek when it starts, in my mind the wm6.5 CE OS5.2 28004 SYS XIP is not a rom but a most important part of rom, it doesn't including any languages, i think you can make a english rom with it ,may be you can make a oem file of english language first..........

270 Error - SSPL or image?
This is going to take a little talking through so bear with me.
I took the XIP/SYS from the 28004 and cleared out the relevant directories of an old kitchen - then replaced them with the XIP/SYS from 28004.
Then I ran the buildos.bat in the root of the kitchen which promptly found *all* the correct directories but threw a fit at doing anything useful - 'path not found' errors all over the place - so I tried stepping through it manually...
I ended up with a NBH file of about the right size - 39,415 KB - although some of the things in the bat file I was following didnt seem to work.
I tried to install this to the phone and it managed to get to 5% - phone screen goes black and it reboots into the NeoRose 1.03b ROM its running now...
So far so straightforward...
However - I went through the forum and found some people were saying that the 270 error is to do with the rom image, and some were saying its to do with the bootloader/SSPL - so I tried another rom - it promptly died at 5% same as mine.
does anyone have any ideas? has the rom I cobbled together (1st attempt) somehow killed SSPL so it wont work? or are the available versions of SSPL too long in the tooth to work with 28004?
any help would be appreciated... on the upside it hasnt bricked the phone at all

And what about Langs? Because I want to make Russian ROM, but the Russian language packs for WM Standard (Build 28004) can not be found. Anybody can help me with this?

ALEUT, где-то здесь на xda (может даже и в этой теме было.. некогда искать) говорили, что 28004 очень даже "живчик" . Ну а раз так, то думаю стоит писать для него русик. Хотя.. Как я понял с твоих слов, в смартфонах можно брать русик и от прошлых билдов и разницы совершенно никакой не будет от этого. Просто для смартофонов еще не делал прошивок, под коммуникаторы только недавно освоил, но там с русиками построже будет..не всегда подходят с прежних сборок..

Granted you may WANT some of those things installed. I removed 80% of those listed. My phone was at roughly 12gb free.

It is a good list, be careful what you remove.
For instance:
Clockpackage.apk will remove the stock Alarm function.
Hearingdro.apk will remove Adapt Sound.
How about the my verizon, vz navigator and other verizon crud?

Any of these apps break the air wave/gesture stuff?

I didn't freeze anything I deleted it all. If you aren't 100% sure what the app does, I suggest you freeze it. Most of them, by name, are pretty clear what it is.
i never "delete" anything. I move the files to a folder on my sdcard called, Bloatware Apps this way i know where i can find them if i need them for whatever reason.
would be nice if somebody gathered a list of bloatware apps and a small description next to each line of what the app actually does.

I use ES file manager to copy all the apks to my SD card because it let's you multiple select apps instead of doing it one by one. Then I delete them once they have been copied. Sometimes ES file manager doesn't work for deleting so I use root explorer to delete

Check the Android Development section, there should be a thread stuck to the top with instructions on rooting. Just read them carefully and ask questions if you're confused about anything. Also be forewarned, it will void your warranty and Verizon will not be supportive.

Contacts FC problem
I have looked around for a bit now and cant find anything but my contacts app will now force close everytime I click on a contact to open. I can scroll through the list just fine, it is just when I click on one to open. Does anyone know what other processes the contact relies on as I have frozen a few things but so far just what was on the safe lists that I have found?

Please use some caution when deleting apps, just because they are 'safe' to remove doesn't mean you won't need them.
For example: DO NOT delete GoogleContactsSycAdapter.apk if you need to sync your Google contacts.
I have deleted everything on this list from my system apps as they are things I don't use.
Personally EVER REMOVE system apps completely. I MOVE them to a folder on my external SD. That way if I ever want anything back I can simply copy it back again set apps permission and i am done..
I would suggest you do the same.

i tried the same as you said i am successful in copying apps to extSdCard but when i try to delete or move them ,i didn't got the permissions.
is this issue relating to ROOTING.......kindly let me know as i have purchased grand2 last month and i came to know that if i go for ROOTING then warranty will be void ...................

I carefully removed the unnecessary stuff and everything is working fine until I found out the following problem.
I am unable to set wallpaper from any other non-native app (native app is the default Samsung gallery).
If I try to use Google Photos to set a wallpaper, nothing happens. My guess is that I must've deleted an apk that is relevant to this, but I am unable to find out which that apk might be.
Any help in this regard would be very helpful.

I have uninstalled many system apps post root. Everything is slick and smooth except that when I go to Settings>More>About phone, settings is being closed. I must have deleted some app. I suspected uninstalling software update app is the reason and reinstalled through titanium backup. But didnot work. Please help.
Error message is a prevalent one "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
In case of EasyLauncher and SecLauncher3, you'll have to use another one if you delete ethier of these. But if you delete both, you'll REALLY need another launcher.
Hello everyone. I have an evo lte that has a non working touch screen so I am able to acces it via adb only. I managed to install and activate No Lock as suggested in other threads, doesn't work. I have it on airplane mode but on boot, it turns off airplane mode and starts the hands free activation. I have looked through numerous threads and they suggest to delete a certain APK in my system/app folder but the APK they refer to I do not even have. Please, take a look at my system/app folder and tell me what APK, if any, I can rename to bypass this mess. Otherwise, what can I do to remove this crap. Thanks in advance.

IN SYSTEM/APPI actually NEVER REMOVE system apps completely. I MOVE them to a folder on my external SD. That way if I ever want anything back I can simply copy it back again. I would suggest you do the same.

If you want apps to stay deleted after reboot you must remove the PreloadInstaller.apk from system/apps
