Is it possible for anyone to use the updated Da_G kitchen to make an updated Clean rom?
I have been trying to do it on my own, but for some reason I cannot get it to work. I'm not very good with this stuff and I know that if I make a mistake I will end up with a messed up phone.
So please please pretty please, will someone update the Da_G clean rom?

Da_G already did off the att leaked rom, its in the att rom thread
If the Da_G 'leaked' ROM is still not satisfactory, have a look at these threads:
[TUT] Sous-Chef's Guide to Da_G's Simple Kitchen

Da_G's simple ROM Kitchen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471288
If you're having issues after that, don't hesitate to post a clear description of your problem in the Da_G's simple ROM Kitchen thread. Most of the chefs that follow the thread usually try to offer some insight.
HTH,
Yeah, the reason I asked for help is I'm not really good with stuff like that. And I can't be running the risk of bricking my phone. Hence me asking for someone to cook a rom up. And I'd rather not use the testing rom.
I'll assume you have already SPL'ed your phone with Olipro/OliNex HardSPL'ed.
Here's what I'd suggest;
Go through the [TUT] Sous-Chef's Guide to Da_G's Simple Kitchen guide. In a nutshell, the guide walks you through the entire process using an official HTC 5.05.405.1 ROM.
At the end of the guide, you will have a flashable end product that you can flash to your device. Since your HardSPL'ed, you will be able to recover in the event of a problem since all you are flashing is the ROM part - not the SPL, Radio, or Splash screen. Recovery would be a matter of flash a different cooked ROM or the .NBH file from the official HTC 5.05.405.1 ROM that you downloaded.
Once you feel comfortable with that, download Da_G's Simple ROM Kitchen (21402, Apr). It contains a good selection of packages that many of the Chefs use at the moment - i.e. they work. ;-)
Then if you have questions, post in the Da_G Kitchen thread - not this one.
HTH,
Download his 6.5 kitchen and follow the directions on his thread and you're good to go. Load the notsolitefuze, make sure if you have a CDMA phone you do none of this or the above lol.

Hey guys, i have read all of the guides and alot on the forums, i am also a member at TX and Da_Gs blackjack site so i have flashed new ROMs to the Blackjack hundreds of times. I feel pretty good about flashing my ATT 8525 with a cooked ROM but, I just want to verify something..........
(1) I should flash to the HardSPL first right? If i follow the guide it looks easy.
(2) I have on my 8525 the 1.54 radio and it works really well in my area, so after the HardSPL then flash the rom then i should still have the 1.54 radio? Is that right? it works just like on the Blackjack....the radio and boot and ROM are all separate installs?
I know some ROMs have all 3 together but the ROM i like, K's WM6.0 FINAL
does not have the SPL or radio.

1) It is very easy....and definalty do it BEFORE anything else
2) the radio version currently on your hermes will stay there yes, unless you flash a ROM which contains a radio image. Nearly ALL the cooked WM6 versions are OS only.
Hey Thanks MrVanx! Thats all i neede to know! I will post afterwards to let ya'll know how it went.
It's pretty simple really once you know...
Run SIM & SID unlock, run Hard SPL v7, then click the RUU Wrapper file and install the required rom!
Easy!
Oh and the guide on Vanx's site is handy too!
Nice to see someone that read forum and wiki, and then ask a question.
hey guys everything went great! I have also installed the Cube to this ROM and it works great but, i really don't see it as being very useful as it is quicker to use the phone as it came. I do like how i can look through the contacts and pie with my fingers instead of the sylus but, thats about it.
I will try as many different ROMs as i can get ahold of and i might even down load one of the kitchens and start to roll my own,LOL! this is really changing what i do with my spare time! I used to hotrod my motorcycle or the computer or even my PSP but this is alot more fun!
Thank You to all the people here and over at TXceaser and Da_Gs web site!
You have really been a great bunch to learn from!

Hey everyone! Have fun! I have personally used this kitchen to make several custom roms and it works well. Uses the same awesome memory management as the stock Sprint ROM alone.
This is WM 6.0, NOT 6.1; and this is for SPRINT only!! I have not yet made the changes to allow multiple-carriers.
I'm not recomending this for people who are not familiar with custom roms and the processes involved; you can and may damage your phone.
This kitchen creates OS ROM only. You MUST flash the stock Sprint 3.35.651.2 ROM first and then flash the ROM made from the kitchen. Otherwise, you will not have the correct radio and other programming needed to run.
Before using the kitchen, please make sure your phone is unlocked completely,
and your phone shows 2.40 Olipro bootloader.
Make sure you have your MDN and MSID handy just in case you need them [##(MSL CODE)#] Otherwise you may not be able to use your phone to make or receive calls.
The rest you know: build, flash and have fun!
This is a kitchen built off of the officially released 3.35 rom, I take no responsibility to what it or you may do to your phone!!!!! I will not be directly supporting this kitchen, however, please post any issues you may come across, and I will try to resolve.
Thanks to dogguy for the kitchen tools and shared knowledge and Olipro for the unlocker.

150MB Kitchen? Did you stick the whole house in it?
Could one of the Mods add "Sprint Only" to the title of the post? Just to be clear. THX

haha, yeah forgot to delete the test rom i built before i packaged it. ill repackage and reupload tonight
Hello all. Sort of new to the whole custom rom scene and have been trying to find install instructions to follow for flashing a custom rom on my xv6800. I have found the wiki page on this site, which to me is very confusing and I have also found http://ppc.stoleyour.net/xv6800/ Which one of these is best to follow or is there a better guide? Second question, what is the difference between a rom and a kitchen and are both needed?
The link you found has the proper steps. Both are fine and if one makes more sense to you then use it. Although, I would suggest you use the latest DCD Rom 3.2.6 and the latest radio rom 3.42.50 when hacking your phone.
The difference between dcd's rom and kitchen is that a rom is a pre-made (cooked) rom and the kitchen allows you to make your own rom with added or removed features. In my experience, I would strongly suggest sticking to DCD's precooked rom and just install your missing programs from there. It makes upgrading each individual program so much easier then having to cook a new rom and flash your phone again.
Cool thanks for the response. Yes, I was going to go with rom 3.2.6 and radio 3.42.50. I notice the newest officail rom update from HTC enables support for 16gig micro sd cards, does dcd do this as well?
Hey guys.
I dont have a clue on how to flash a phone or backup a rom from my phone. is anyone able to help me out.
All i ever see are download locations to roms but i never see any applications for flashing phones or backing up.
Basiclly im looking for a tutorial.
Wait is it even possible on the neon yet?
Thanks in advance.
All the downloads should normally include the two files required to flash: the ROM itself (.nbh file) and the exe to actually do it.
Before flashing you should make sure you have the latest version of HardSPL installed which should stop you bricking your phone if anything goes wrong (see this thread for info).
As far as WM6.5 on a Neon I've not seen any ROMs. The files have to be ported to the device and then cooked into a ROM using a kitchen - not sure what people are using but I've seen mention of using the Kaiser kitchen with Neon settings.
There's no single tutorial, it's a case of reading around the different threads and piecing the bits together. It's just that there seem to be fewer Neon's around so there's not much of a focus on development for them.
Oops the link was to a WinMo 6.1 ROM. The 6.5 ROM I was thinking of is actually for the TyTn. So... nope, no 6.5 for Neon.
I'm a noob as well, but flashing is really quite simple. Just install the Neon HardSPL (there's only one as well), update the radio if you want to, then flash the ROM. Everything's packaged in the downloads, just run the exe.
May want to check your link : )
1-SBF to stock base. Root your phone, unlock bootloader, install custom recovery and perform a nandroid backup of your stock rom!

So my question is all based on this, and after a lot of reading I found both answers but both were old so not sure which one to trust.
I am currently rooted, unlocked, running joker's CWM & Joker's CM10, and have a nandroid backup from back when I was running stock.
Is step one really to roll back to stock base, re-root my phone, re-unlock my bootloader, and make a new nandroid backup? Or are these instructions assuming we are not already rooted/unlocked?
Can I skip step one and just flash the new radio and then Joker's GSM CM10?
(Long time lurker, first time poster, 9 different phones hacked to bits and this is my first question ever, if this has been asked before no combination of GSM/Stock/SBF found it.)
Where can find definition and terminology

expertglossary.com/android/definitions/R (Banned from posting outside links.. Jebus it is hard being new, and all I could think lurking was I wish they had a method of making people talk *less*)
This might help a bit, ask if you want anything clarified. Their ROMS definition is a little not perfect, A Rom as it is normally used here is a zip file containing all the bits that makes an android install, A custom rom is a bundle of the kernel and android version, tweaks, themes, fixes, modifications, basically everything you use on a system as tailored by the ROM builders.

I was thinking more about " a guide to noobs" here in xdadevelopers forum ?
Where can I find it?
Definitely here is the best we have forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393519 then you follow all the myriad links based on what you are trying to do.
Not being sure what your goal is it is hard to be more specific.
Anyone have an answer for my earlier question though? My sim card arrives tomorrow.
