Cannot Delete, install or uninstall - Touch Pro CDMA

It's been happening for the past few days now but everytime I try to delete, install, or uninstall ANYTHING no matter where it goes or where it's from (storage card or main memory), the darn thing won't let me.
I even created a New Folder JUST so I can delete it and there it sits. The error message says:
"Cannot delete 'whatever': Access is denied. Be certain that the file is not write-protected and is not currently in use."
I'm not a newb about these things but maybe I'm overlooking one tiny thing.
Also when i go to "remove programs" in settings, there's nothing in the list. I've installed a few cabs here and there like SPB software or cabified tweaks but yet there's nothing in my remove programs list to remove.
I think this ties directly to my activesync problem which says: "Syncronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, blah blah help"
I've done a hard reset on my phone and yet it still does this.
Anyone have/had the same issue?

I have the same problem... on my tmo wing though... i cannot install anything and when i go to the remove programs nothing is there, i have no clue what to do... any help would be awesome

Which ROM do you have?

I have the same problem on my vario 4,stock rom.
Its very annoying any ideas people

Just out of curiosity, how did you perform the hard reset?

Here's the solution... Or what it should be anyway.
My apologies for not noticing this post earlier. The same thing has happened to me and it was very frightening to think that something was wrong with my Sprint Touch Pro or my MicroSD Card. However, after realizing that I executed the initial hard-reset with the memory card still inside the phone, I attributed my issues to that fact. And sure enough, that was the problem!
To fix that annoying problem that you guys are having just take the MicroSD Card out of your phone and proceed to execute a hard-reset. Once the phone has completely booted up, place the MicroSD Card back into the phone and voila... All should be back to normal.
I really hope that I was able to help you out.

Yeah I did that a few weeks ago and it worked great... until about a minute ago and I noticed all of my installed programs have disappeared from the "removed programs" app (again).. I cannot install anything.. I cannot delete anything.. i cannot UNinstall anything. This is crap. My rom is stock as I don't do a lot of modding. I have mobile shell 3.. but like I said, it's been at least a month since this last happened... what the heck?!

Mobile Shell could contribute to the problem but it's not the root. I didn't have Mobile Shell on my phone when it happened the first 2 times. Now I do and it still happens. IDK what to do.. good thing there's Dashwire.

Out of curiosity.. anyone with this problem have Twikini?

Sorry for the double post but it seem's Twitter's WinMo client "Twikini" is the culprit.
My fiance has a diamond. The moment she installed Twikini, it did this to her phone. Running with that, I hard reset my phone yesterday and installed one program, if you must know, it was Bejeweled 2. Immediately after, I installed Twikini and it happened again on my phone.
We tried it once more after I hard reset my phone and installed first one software. This time it was SPB Finance. Then we installed Twikini and it happened again.
I'm positive this is my problem... at least with my Touch Pro and Diamond.
This may not be the case for everyone but it certainly the case for us.

messaging service stopped working

[solved!]
hey guys.
something weird happend on my athena. all of a sudden, the messaging service stopped working. "messaging" wont open. even the sms feature of spbdiary wont load. i cant receive sms. i simply cant send/receive sms. even if i use different applications for sending sms. i dont do rom upgrades. and i havent installed/configured anything today.
anybody knows what i should do first? im hoping there might be a workaround other than a hardreset. i already did softresets a couple of times.

Try flashing Mitchy's rom.
the thing is, after reading all through the horror stories here at the forum, concerning flashing roms, im still hesitant to do it myself.
unless maybe you can guide me through all the way tootalk?
i have x7501 bought from the states. also, in a few words, what are the best things that mitchys rom have?
im surprised nobody else had experienced this problem before.
ciao!
if you installed any of those "lost and found" tools, then that's most likely the problem
since i had exactly your problem, until i removed those programs.
those programs might be good,
but unfortunately, it takes your SMS hostage, and wont release it.
making your SMS useless.
so i opted to have SMS, and well too bad if the phone gets lost, then it's lost.
yay! time to buy a new one the perfect excuse
hey allgamer,
what do you mean by "lost and found" tool? you mean like those security apps that sends messages to the owner just in case the phone got stolen? i have two of those installed, but i installed them a couple of months ago, and i never had any problems concerning them.
i'm now researching on how to flash my rom with mitchy.

Sorry for the delay dude. Shoot me a PM with your yahoo or AIM/AOL id and I can walk you through the steps to flashing with his ROM. To be honest, it's way faster and better than any factory ROM. I'm at the point now where If I don't even want to touch any PDA's with factory ROM's anymore lol.... I suggest you read up on how to CID unlock the phone first before you anything else.
messaging comes back if i remove memorycard
the messaging service works whenever i remove the memorycard, so i'm beginning to think that there might be an app that's messing around with the system.
another problem though, after i put back the memory card, the system created a "memory card" folder on the root file system. and the real memorycard now is called "memorycard2". the inbox folder has been created inside "memory card" folder.
anyway, i'm trying to muster up my courage and am going to accept tootalk's generous offer of helping me up with my very first rom flashing.
UPDATED:
i renamed the folder "memory card" which the system created, to "memory card err" and then rebooted. the messaging service is now back to normal.
but i'll still check out on the flashing.
ciao!

TG01 "Tap-and-hold" Context Menu Disappearing Issue

Just run this past anyone, see if they have the same problem. I am running Novembre5 latest rom, however this issue was occuring with all of the roms I have tried including the official Toshiba roms.
So I have a disappearing problem with my context menu. It has happened to me after I install some programs. I install Resco Registry Editor, Photo Viewer, Swype 2.0, CE-Star for Japanese Input, bunch of games, get my device just the way I want it.... then I can't select anything. I try to "tap and hold" to bring up the context menu so I can cut and paste in an email or delete something in Resco Explorer, however when I click on a blank part on the screen, the circles will show up and the 1 second animation will commence in which the circles will surround where my stylus has hit the screen and then once the circles go around my stylus clockwise then the context menu will for a very-split-second appear and then disappear. To get the context menu to stay, I need to hold the stylus on screen and then remove the stylus from the screen just before the context menu appears, then the context menu will stay.
Needless to say.. this is really annoying... when I initially hard-reset the device, there are no problems like this, however, after installing my programs, then I have this issue. Is there any quick fix for this problem? Does anyone have an idea what is up? I like the programs that I have installed, I especially need Japanese on my device so I hope it is not CE-Star, is there any advice someone can give to me? I guess the next step is, is to hard reset and install the programs one buy one and test them out for a while and then figure out what program it is that is making the issue appear. However even then.... I need the programs that I install... and damnitt I purchased most of them, hehehe so they have gotta work!

I believe this the best you can try for the moment...
Never encountered something similar...
Wow...
that was retardedly easy yet frustratingly hard. Ok, CE-Star was the culprit. You must do two things. When installing CE-Star one must uncheck the handwriting component when installing the Japanese IME. If you install the handwriting component then the context menu will disappear. Also, second thing, one you register and activate the program then it loads a service at boot called DynaNls.lnk in your \Windows\StartUp folder. This service causes MANY frustrating issues associated with your device including but not limited to automatically rebooting 3 or 4 times during the boot sequence, and then it will work. Basically CE-Star is totally compatible with Windows Mobile 6.5 however you gotta do a couple of tweaks. Wow, this has solved 2 months of issues. Have a good days pplz.

[Q] Do I need to flash a device if OS crashed?

My SGS2 was suddenly rebooted itself when I connected it to my PC. It didn't happen before and it does not happen now.
My question is, when something goes wrong and the phone suddenly reboots or a specific app crashes or whatever (just one time, not on a regular basis) how can I know if any damage was done, to data for example, like a corruption, and whether or not should I reinstall this app or wipe and flash the phone?
I was just about to finish configuring settings and installing apps after a clean ROM installation when it happened, and so I thought about doing everything all over again because I wanted it to be "perfect".
If anyone shares this annoying habit I'm sure you will know what I'm talking about. I figured out I might just ask a pro about this thing I usually do, as I am aware that it is possible that there is absolutely zero logic to it and it is all in my head
Thanks.
P.S: Didn't post in the device forum because I figured it is a question that is based on the Android OS nature rather than subjective to a specific device model.

Is there any reason to re-flash just because of a single crash? if so, please elaborate as I am very willing to understand the considerations.
Thanks.
Anyone?
why dont you do a research on logcats !!
if you can understand logcats fine or else just post the logcats in the forum of the app that causes crashing!!

Because I'm not asking about troubleshooting a crashing app... nor a faulty OS installation.
I'm asking about the general idea of re-flashing a phone just because the OS suddenly crashed, one time only, without any special use for the moment.
You said your phone rebooted after you connected it to the pc. This the problem. No need to reflash imo, just close all apps when connecting next time.

if its happened one time only no need to reflash... if problem exists reflash with proper wipe..

Kind of out of nowhere, yes, but even if it had something to do with me connecting it to the PC too soon after starting the phone - I am still curious if a sudden crash (a single one out of nowhere) can make some sort of a damage to any system or app data that it is recommended to re-flash or something.
I really hope you got my point. I used all my English skills to this one!

android can crash when it runs out of RAM. Doesnt necessarily mean that a system app is damaged. if however a system app is damaged it will show up as a FC (force close) rather than a reboot.
so still im of the opininon that you dont have to reflash you rom yet...
How exactly did it work? Did you connect your phone to PC and then it rebooted?
By closing all apps i meant removing everything from recents screen.

your rom is fine. The reboot used to happen to me from time to time when i plugged it into the computer or when i uninstalled an app. It had something to do with an app being executed in the background and not releasing every ressource. This didnt happen on the last few builds for me though...

Constantly Crashing

I have an issue that I cannot pinpoint the cause of figure out a solution to. Maybe someone here can help.
My Sprint G3 is always crashing and rebooting the launcher (phone doesn't turn off, just closes evwrything). I'd be in the middle of any app and it will randomly close every single app. The running apps page always displays after every crash. It's as if too much ram is being used, but it will happen even after a fresh phone restart and launching something simple like WhatsApp.
My phone is rooted via the Stump one click method. I don't have any type of rooted mods enabled, only Adfree. I use Nova launcher (paid & updated).
Is there some sort of event viewer that will log the activity of the phone so I probably someone here can see what might be causing the phone to crash? I'm tempted to Unroot and restore back to stock... But if I can avoid that, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks. I've reverted my adfree hosts file and uninstalled it. But I think the issue persists. If I try to use any app that clears cache, specifically Clean Master, when it's doing the scan of apps it'll crash midway through the scan. If I go to system settings > Apps & wait for all the downloaded apps to load the details, it'll crash there too.
This is the oddest thing.
Edit:
This visual may help. It's a video of me running Clean Master & seeing how it just crashes. I can replicate this issue every time like this, but the crashes are random when using other apps.

Ok, so I began uninstalling some apps that I thought may have been the issue... Which they weren't as the crashing still continues. I decided to reboot under safe mode and the problem occurs there too.
I honestly cannot recall if this began before or after rooting with stump. I may have to Unroot & factory restore. =/

Did you uninstall Stump after getting root?
Have you froze or uninstalled any system apps/ priv-apps?
It might even be Nova is having issues.

Tried to unroot but the phone doesn't move past the "Firmware Update. Do not unplug the phone..." screen after holding Volume Up & plugging into the computer. I installed the drivers before hand. But the "CDC Serial" doesn't update. I attempted to manually update the driver by browsing for the folder, but no go.
I may end up having to go to Sprint and exchange the phone for another one.

TL;DR version = Yes, I did fix it. Factory restore did the trick.
A few days after my last post the phone wasn't as bad as the video. It would still crash and reset but mainly after heavy app usage or when trying to clear app cache using any app like Clean Master.
Once my storage reached about 40% used and I couldn't clear the cache, I began to get constant Play Store error messages. No apps would update. I think it was error 483 or something close to hat number.
Since I couldn't flash back to stock because the drivers wouldn't install, I gave up and tried a factory reset. I nearly sh-t myself bc once I confirmed the restore, the phone didn't want to automatically reset per the instructions. I pressed the button multiple times and nothing. I pulled the battery and when I turned it back on, I got the initial screen with the "powered by android" and then black. It did not wanna do anything. Pulled battery again, same outcome. It left it for maybe 10min and still nothing.
I was ready to go back to sprint and see if I could exchange the phone. While researching the closest store, the phone beeped and the initial android setup screen appeared. This was about 25min of waiting on a black screen.
The phone is now back to working order and it's still rooted. There must have been a corrupt file that was erased/restored once the g3 decided to behave.

My G3 is crashing in the similar manner as the video you uploaded.
Except that it only happens when I'm in office connected to office wifi with almost no cellular reception.
On top of that, as far as I could tell... only two apps are causing the launcher to crash... the game Clash of Clans and LINE.
Very very strange....

"attackers on %1$s might atte..."
I stoped my wifi connection immediately and it was gone but when i started my wifi agin it restarted then disappeared i couldn't find any info about this on the internet so i did a factory reset just incase and after the reset i updated my apps and resigned into facebook after 5-10 minutes after i signedin that same thing happened again
I hope someone might know whats happening here

Thank God I found this thread! This same thing happened to me the night of the 17th, but the message appeared and disappeared so quickly for me to see that I only caught a vague glimpse of the word "attacker $..." and could not be sure. I still tried searching online and posting in a forum but came up with nothing. And the weirdest thing is even though this is a download, it does not appear in the downloads folder! I haven't reset my phone yet, as I thought I might have been wrong somehow and it was the regular Instant Apps download or something. I had the premium version of ESET active on my phone at the time, monitoring all downloads and apps and this one didn't even appear there. None of the other scanners I later downloaded found anything either.
At least now I know I'm not going crazy and this indeed happened. I wonder if this had anything to do with the recent Facebook security breaches and server outages.
I am going to reset my phone too, just in case, take some backups tonight and reset. But @DarkCloudF you said the problem reappeared even after reset? Maybe it installed itself into the system so a factory reset did not remove it? If that is the case, then we got a whole new thing.
Please keep me updated here with your findings, I'm still using the phone as it is, I don't know how to go about this, if reset did not solve the problem, I will admit I'm not very tech savvy and this worries me to no end maybe I should just turn the phone off until I know more and reset.

Dear SeaMonster26
I did a reset and after i installed the facebook app the same thing happened again then i reinstalled the official firmware for my device using odin then updated all the apps but not facebook and kept monitoring my device for two or more hours and nothing happened then i updated facebook and waited more also nothing happened but after i signed into facebook using the facebookapp it happened again i sent a message to the facebook support but they didn't reply
The last thing i did was that i updated my device to the latest version of the official firmware (for me it's android 7.0) and updated the facebookapp then from the settings->apps->show system apps i disabled the facebook app manager and the facebook app installer
Then i signed into facebook using the app that was 2 days ago and untill now i didn't see that message again i'm not sure if the problem is gone this way but i think the manager or the installer are responsible for this
You can try disabling those two apps as i did after you reset your device and check if it reappears
I'm still trying to figure this out i hope this would help you
Best regards
