The program for change size of the PagePool on Gene (HTC P3400, Dopod D600) without a reflashing
and losses of data.
Not to use on other models of devices.
To use at own risk.
Usage:
Copy file gene_pps_changer.exe on a device, and run it, having specified in a command line
the necessary quantity MByte under PagePool, for example:
gene_pps_changer.exe 6
The program will work ~ 10 seconds (at this time it seems, that a device hungup), and
then will reboot the device. Come into Settings -> System-> Memory, and be convinced
in change of the size of the RAM. HardReset does not occur, all your data remain on a place
(Though superfluous backup never stirred to nobody).
For use simplification, prepeared some shortcuts with the necessary parametres.
Copy gene_pps_changer.exe on a device in the ROOT, NOT ON the MEMORY CARD,
and one of the shortcuts necessary to you:
gpps4.lnk - For 4МБ PagePool
gpps6.lnk - For 6МБ PagePool
gpps8.lnk - For 8МБ PagePool
gpps12.lnk - For 12МБ PagePool
Run the copied shortcut in a device.

It doesn't work on my D600. When I run the gpps6.lnk , gene_pps_changer.exe pops up, and then device locks up. nothing happens. I have to soft reset it. Nothing changes. When I tried to run it again. It says Not find need block. What's wrong?

thanks orefkov, just a small question. what is the default PagePool on Gene and how can I get it back ?
Default PP size on Gene is 12 MB.
Copy gene_pps_changer.exe and gpps12.lnk on devaice, at root, and run gpps12.lnk

If the TouchFLO screen display is abnormal (for example, the icons disappear, the words overlap, and so on) and the keyboard output characters are incorrect (pressing a key doesn’t result in the desired character), please download and install this fix to solve the problem.
Update: I have just uploaded it.
Its a native WM program, not a windows/activesync installer.

ok the fix it just a new OEM_Misc.dll, ive extracted the cab from that exe and also the new dll itself and attached them here (useful if you cant install the EXE and for rom cooking)

You use a Cooked Rom from Tom? This Programm look for the ID you can found on the first bootsplash. if you use a HTC OEM Rom, you have the ID D 1.31 or D 1.35.
OEM Rom User can use this Update!

Hi thanks so much for this does it mean that the cab just modifies a dll or do we have to install the cab AND copy the dll somewhere ?

all it does is replace the dll so just the cab
ok, installed the cab fine
noticed that :
1) touchflo/cube SEEMS a bit smoother
2) regarding "the keyboard output characters are incorrect (pressing a key doesn’t result in the desired character)", it does NOT fix the issue where the hardware keyboard is incorrectly mapped, unfortunately

ok then, the description made it sound like it fixes the hardware KB bug... and i don't think anyone has found a fix yet for this KB keymapping issue

it think it supposedly fixes the problem where if you are typing quickly on the hardware kb it gets confused and adds more letters that you pressed (for me it once thought 'love you lots xxx' was 'obesity in Rome twangy' )
i sent about 30-50 messages daily and since the fix have noticed that although not fixed entirely the number of occurrences of this problem are lower.

where does the oem_misc.dll file get placed? in the \windows\ directory??
never mind I got it.......
I installed this and noticed no difference at all.

no not really....
Some people used to accuse lomlom for his ROM version as the Battery Back up is not suitable. But dear, lomlom is trying to give us something new with important softwares, so dont accuse him. Some problems with Battery Status software, Just go to the FILE EXPLORER > WINDOWS > STARTUP, delete POUTLOOK and other useless software that you want except system applocations. Again go the TODAY in SETTINGS, disable Battery Status, now go to FILE EXPLORER > WINDOWS > BATTERYSTATUS folder, DELETE that folder. Then just, again go to the SETTINGS > TODAY, enable Battery Status as today item. No graphics, as well as apllications that are oriented with BATTERY STATUS software won't work, only the Battery Level (in percentage) will highlight. The Battery consumption ratio will be decreased and enjoy long Battery life.

help me to reduce battery
ok....
here's the deal:
I've been using an OEM-package in mylast roms for tomtom version 7.915.
This has been working without troubles.
Now I cooked a new ROM based on new 21018 XIP/SYS
The device really flies and everything seems to working flawless....EXCEPT tomtom.
When I start Tomtom, in a flash I see the gray bootscreen but then immediately I get the error: 'Unable to start. Not enough memory is available.'
But I have more then 130mb program memory available so that can not be the issue....
I did not change anything to the OEM-package. So I guess it has something to do with the new SYS.
Do more people have this problem and/or does somebody now the fix....

Don't know if that helps, but I would be very interested in an OEM for TOMTOM if you can get it working?

I got the exact same oem-package working in M-rom v1.71!
So it really beats me why I get the error.
I tried cooking the rom again but still the error....
I am still cooking up my rom and so will reflash tonight - if you can post up your tomtom OEM I will take a look and try and flash it and see if I can get it to work? Maybe a conflict somewhere that might not be on mine as I do chaneg a number of the packages.

Ok OEM can be found here in the map: packages
Package looks OK at first glance - hope to be able to try it tonight and will post back tomorrow with results.
If this doesn't work - you could try simply using the cab via UC etc as I do - I have checked and the cab of the same version in your OEM DOES work for me.
In fact, I think I might leave it in my UC, (but will flash tonight anyway with it just to see)

I had the same problem some time ago, and it turned out to be SKtools automated Free-Ram shadow service that was causing this.
You dont happen to have similar software running (something that clears your RAM on the fly)?

I tried new ervius packagetool: 5.3 and saw something about shadow service... will roll back to 4.3b1 and see if tool is the problem...

Nope, did not help...
OK - apart from the shortcut not being copied to programs - I didn't check the initflashfiles first - d'oh - it works.
I went to windows with file explorer and ran it from there - no problems.
Have flashed twice - it must be something else in your rom.
Does the page pool make any difference? or the filecache sizes?

I always change my roms pp to 32mb...can that make a difference? I did it in v1.71 and tomtom worked fine...
I don't know - I have been around here long enough to know that your skills far outweigh mine. If it used to work then I see no reason for the change.
All I know is that my rom is based on Da_Gs really clean latest (ie 5.08) from his simple kitchen thread (from his post near the end not the first post) plus Eras2rs package updates.
The only other packages I add are a few utilities and personal tweaks. I import an advanced config xml as part of the UC process but that just ensures the various settings in Advanced Config are set to advised etc.

Maps work(ed) fine..
btw I bypassed the error by removing the OEM-package and made it a cab which is installed during system configuration. It takes more system space but this way it is uninstallable....but it remains a mistery to me why the OEM does not work in this SYS and does in 21014 SYS...
Anyone guide me to get the 3G on/off button working in CommManager.
I have a 3G phone, band viewing is enabled, but when I click the 3G on/off it does nothing. I have tried 3 different CommManagers and all the same - what am I missing??
I have to manually do it through settings>phone>etc

I had the same problem on some roms and started to compare several default registries.
Unzip attached file and try to import this .reg file (via any registry editor on your phone) and let me know if it also works for you!
