All Cheifs - SMS unread problem - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I would first like to thank you all for your work theres not a ROM out there i wouldnt use. But this is a common thing in some roms is the fact the SMS unread issue has gone unnoticed. If you dont know what im talking about im talking about when you have two or more messages from the same person you have to highlight them to be counted as read. This is the a really important thing to me at least and would appreciate it you all would look in to this
thanks again for your alls work without you my phone would be gay

I have the issue as well

[Q] newb requiring help

Hi guys new member today but been following the board for a while
Iv had my s2 for about 3 weeks and apart from the battery life am loving it
but i have 1 slight problem thats really irritating me and iv looked all over the net and cannot find a solution.
Iv moved from the blackberry platform as i love tinkering and found bb's to be too boringand iphones to be too restricted out the box
anyway i have a lot in fact most of my friends are blackberry users and a lot of our sms conversations involve the little smiley emotions which tbh i think are great
But if a bb user sends me a smiley it only shows up as the text format
I know it would only show the android verdion of the smiley on my side which would be fine but it doesnt just the plain jane text
i think from reading around it is because the bberry doesnt include the nose
is there any way around this iv tried asking the bb user to wtite the smiley in text form with the nose but it still sends without
is there any way that i can change my device to recognise it and show the emotion
iv tried the replacement sms apps but they are still the same
thanks in advance

yeah it does seem strange that the os has not been designed to allow the device to recognise emotions that are text in short without the nose
it gets rather annoying when having a text convo to have to keep replying asking what does it mean etc
even the 3rd party sms replacements dont recognise them
would be nice if you could edit each emotions to have 2 possible varients for each
If u use handcent SMS then download the Smileys pack from market or for whattsapp its built in.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
i tried that but it still doesnt seem to recognise the shortened version of the smileys???
or am i doing something wrong
I've tried the Handcent smileys too and no luck either.
Yeah i didnt think it worked surely there must be a way to do this
nobody?
surely this is bugging a few more peeps as well as me

[Q] Forwarding App Source?

Okay, right now im in this club, i really dont want to explain much about it as i try not to reveal my personal info to the internet but there are ranks and stuff (similar to Boys Scout), so far, im managing alot of things but one of the most tiring and annoying things are forwarding any reminders/events/etc.... You see, our teacher sends me a text message about an event/reminder/etc... and i must forward it to others. The fact I got to keep clicking through each person annoys me since the list gets bigger and bigger
Im creating a blank app right now, just to make it run 24 hours in the background (Im very new to this and im trying to make it work).
If anyone can make me a source that whenever i receive a text message from my teacher, it automatically forwards it to others. Now, im looking for the source only, I can add the numbers and rest later, im trying to play and test as much as I can and this can be a good start
ONE THING THOUGH! If my teacher sends me a text message, i want it to forward AND appear to me also but i dont think thats a problem right?
If anyone can whip up a source for me to add to my app, that would be really helpful. If this works out well, i can probably make a good app out of it and give it out to others who come across my position.
Thanks!

[Q] Report mail as no spam in GMail ICS app

The GMail-App on my Xoom and my Nexus S (both with Android 4.0.3) is driving me crazy. In former times I could easily report mails as no spam.
That doesn't work anymore. Instead I guess it should be possible to mark the mails and label them as "Inbox". But that doesn't work, either. With some luck, it works with 1 or 2 mails, but the rest stays in SPAM, even though at first they disappear from the spam-folder.
Isn't there a way to do that? Why is there no real option to mark the mails as no spam?
Regards
McDV
Hi McDV,
I just upgraded to ICS and I am running into the same issue.
Given how few responses have been given, I think I'm missing something very obvious.
Did you manage to solve it already, and if so, how?
Thanks,
Charles

[Q] Possible for Swipe to Clear Notification Count as READ Message?

Hey guys!
As you can see my first post here although I frequently come to xda to fix any problems I have or to browse roms, I love this website! This is the first time that I couldnt find a thread relating to what I am looking for (I hope I havnt missed it). I was also told to post my question here, originally I had it in Q/A but was told ppl may be able to give me an answer here.
At the moment I am using CM 7.1 on my Desire HD.
I was wondering if it is possible that when I swipe to clear a notification (in particular messages, I used GO SMS for text messages and Whatsapp) that it counts as a 'read' message. At the moment it just removes it from the notification bar although the message is still unread.
I hope I made clear what I am trying to get across.
Any help would be grateful. Is what I am looking for even possible?
Thanks!!
Is it possible to develop somthing like this in an app/kernal/Rom?
Sorry..dont mean to spam but could someone just say if this is a feasible idea?

Question about KiK messenger and notifications.

For the people that uses KiK messenger, I'm sure you've noticed that you don't get heads-up notifications and you can't expand long messages from the notification panel, either.
I'm curious whether anyone has any idea why this is? Why doesn't these features work with KiK when it works with any and every other app? I've tweeted @kik on Twitter and they didn't respond. I asked a developer of one of the modded KiK versions and he didn't answer me and even on a discord group regarding KiK modification and no one bothered to answer me. Is it some sort of secret that no one is allowed to share? Is there some reason so common that everyone knows about it and hence just don't feel like answering it? Because even Google searches doesn't bring up anything. It's like the little family secret that uncle John plays with kids and everyone knows about it, but no one talks about it.

I mean, the app itself is pretty ****ty, sure, but I didn't compare the app to that. I compared the fact that no one seems to be able to tell me why the notifications doesn't work, to that. Sort of like, everyone knows it doesn't work and potentially why it doesn't work, but no one wants to say it.
